Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Disappointed

This was our second visit at this resort. We experienced two problems: 1. A/C was very noisy. We complained but they didn't fix it. 2. The Italian A-la-carte restaurant was horrible. We went there at 7:45, ordered food at 8pm and food came at 10pm. When we asked about it, they all stopped speaking English! Never again!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice Resort

This was our second time at this resort and we went back because we loved it so much the first time. Second time wasn't as good as the first time. I found that the service was not as good. We had to ask for water and coffee when we were dining in the buffet restaurant, some days we didn't but more often then not we did. The food was very good and they had a lot of variety. The main pool is in need of repair. There are cracks in some areas and the bottom of the pool felt crumbly also the walls were stained. The room was decent and cleaned but our shower did not have much pressure.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful Resort with guest concerns though.

First I would like to say that the Melia Punta Cana Resort was beautiful! The staff were welcoming, kind and overall my impression was very good. However, there were some areas of concern. On my first morning at breakfast I was served a coffee at the Rumba buffet, that was totally not okay. Black chunks of “whatever” were floating in the coffee. I was able to remove some of the chunks using a fork. At a table close by I noticed a woman dipping a knife in her cup to remove these terrib [... read more]le chunks. Needless, to say I asked for a manage, who apologized, but I was a bit concerned to drink coffee from here on in. Also, I found the food continually under cooked at each meal at the buffet. If the food was improved immensely I would not have as big an issue with wanting to stay at this resort. Please note I have been sick with diarrhea and stomach cramps from my first day at the resort. Diarrhea has continued (day 10 for me now, and have needed to call my doctor for advise as to what to do.) Another area of concern was my room at the resort. On the first morning after I awoke, I noticed the sliding door was ajar. The frame was bent on the outside and the door lock was also bent preventing the door from shutting/locking. The door looked like someone tried to pry the door open from the outside. This should have been noticed by the cleaning staff and repaired prior to my staying in the room. Also, the toilet in the room had to be flushed at least twice if not three times after each use. I was constantly worried about the toilet flooding. (My neighbour woke me at 2:00 a.m. one morning due to her toilet flooding over and she had no telephone service the five days stayed at the hotel.) On arrival, blood was also noticeable on my daughters pillow case which was totally unacceptable. This was the only time I had to notify hotel reception twice to have the problem remedied. Lastly, upon arrival in my room, I needed to request for my room to be cleaned better, since there was food on the floor under the dresser and couch area left from previous guest. Follow-up by hotel staff regarding any complaints or issues was dealt with promptly and courteously. I tried my best to overlook these areas of concern, but wanted to provide an honest opinion about my stay at the resort.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great resort

The food was amazing , atmospher was great and so was the service . Rooms were very clean and modern ,the beach was great with the Cabanas and lots of chairs to sit in, fitness center was good siZe and clean , modern .

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: One of the best resorts

Just spent 7 days here June 6-13th. This was one of the best adult only resorts we have been to. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Maids came around in early evening to ensure we had everything we needed. The service was great in all restaurants and at the front desk. The food was really very good. Nice white sandy beach with waiter service at your chair!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Beautiful Vacay Spot!

The resort itself was amazing! Beautiful, clean, and full of lots of friendly people. The only thing that struck me as an inconvenience is that the resort is a bit too big! A lot of walking to get around. All in all I would definitely recommend this resort.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: AWESOME Hotel, Staff and Scenery! June 1-8 2019

The 5 STAR reviews we read before we booked were correct! We read about the great staff, the cleanliness, the gorgeous views and they were right! We would definitely go back again. We have told all our friends to go here! The scenery is so lush and beautiful! We could not get over how beautiful the property was. It was like Fantasy Island! The rooms are lovely, we had an ocean front room of the main hotel, which are slightly larger than the standard rooms in the same building. The views from ou [... read more]r balcony were gorgeous of the beach, pool, elevator and the bridge to no where! The rooms have a stocked bar, but only pop, beer and water, which was fine by us. The King beds are very firm, but we loved ours. The room has a safe and large closets, but not many hangers. There is a TV, but we never used it. The bathrooms are roomy and very elegant with a bidet. Our room was cleaned twice a day, as they have a turn down service. Everywhere you looked was clean or being cleaned. We enjoyed a beautiful and very romantic couples Spa treatment. We had a romantic Jacuzzi and then a massage and facial. One of the best ever! The Beaches were well maintained and very clean, especially the big one out front. There were always more than enough chairs and umbrellas or trees to sit under. The water was cool and refreshing and just enough of a wave, not overpowering. The bar was convenient and had a few table and chairs around it along with washrooms. On the other side of the elevator was the sports and equipment area, I never went, but I saw people having fun with the Banana boat rides or equipment they had there. The main pool is beautiful up on the lush cliff and very clean, with a pool bar and access to washrooms. This is where you get your soft large blue beach towels. They have a water fall there and games are played on the pool deck, like Bingo. Lots of lounge chairs and no one saves chairs here or at the beach, so you can always get one. The elevator to the beach was intriguing and we loved the views from the bridge of the elevator. There are windows and its a glass elevator, so you watch the ocean as you ride the elevator. The elevator in the hotel is the same and you watch the pool while you ride it. The nightly entertainment had a great variety and you had a lovely view of Samana while you watched. I have been to resorts where its the same entertainers, but different dancing, this was so much better, with different entertainers every night, like a Circus, or Latin dancing, Karaoke, lounge singers, bands and International dancing. They also bring in some local people to sell their wares. Nothing is forced on you and you are not bothered by the staff to participate in the shows. We loved attending these nightly shows. The breezes were so cool coming off the land and the setting under the tent or on the patio with white wicker furniture was beautiful. The main restaurant closes breakfast at 10:30am so you must go to the Snack Bar, down the hill, which is okay, as the large golf carts were always going back and forth. We never had to wait for one, especially if you asked for someone to call them. The snack bar was beside another pool, more Jacuzzis than pool and some Cabanas and the natural beach and back-bay, which we enjoyed one day chatting with some other Canadians, who also loved the resort. The specialty restaurants - Le Pescadar -seafood, and the Viva Dolce- Italian - were delicious, we had the seafood lasagna and then the seafood saute and we were very pleased each night. The Snack bar had delicious pizza, salad, fruit and hot dogs. The main restaurant was hit or miss, we could always find something to eat, but not everything was great, also we are not in Canada, so we had made to order omeletes for breakfast, stayed away from any meat, and enjoyed the rest of the food. In the restaurants the staff was very attentive and our glasses were never empty. The Staff are awesome and made our trip even better because of their friendliness and big smiles - A shout out to - Front desk - Eduard and Laura, Concierge - Juan Shepherd, Lobby bar - Manuel, Spa - Lairilyn, Elsa, Yively and Sara, Restaurants - Dady, Ramon, Aneury, Junior, Erik, Mercedes and Barbara, Entertainment - Lewis. These people shined very bright and made a difference in our holiday, but ALL the staff were amazing! Only three things happened that may have been an issue anywhere else, but we were so happy with everything we couldn't imagine being upset, beside we aren't in Canada, these things can happen: (1) The A/C didn't work for the first 3 days and when it did it wasn't chilly, but it cooled us off, I enjoyed listening to the waves crashing on the beach and the breeze coming in our room these few days: (2) A part of the pool deck needed renovation half way through the week, but the pool was still used and the work was quiet after the few hours one late afternoon, where they had to use a jack hammer, and (3) We didn't have hot water one day, I like cool showers! But again these are one offs and can happen anywhere. I hate to say it again, but we aren't in Canada! FYI - The bridge to nowhere was built many years ago to facilitate the people watching the Canadian Humpback whales that migrate there every mid-January to mid-March and frolic in the bay outside the hotel. I will be back to see that. A shout out to Westjet Premium service on board, we truly enjoyed the experience and the Tapas type of meal, along with the little extras. It also included our baggage fee and seat selection fee, so it was a good deal. A shout out to Luis, the Westjet representative in Samana, he was very helpful as we called him later one night and he helped us, saying call anytime. He always had a smile. He sells the tours at your meet and greet. We really enjoyed our tour with RL Tours - Raffi was our guide and he was awesome. We took the Playa Rancon and Safari tour which we loved. We had children sing their national anthem to us, in their classroom, and then we visited a lovely family farm and ate mango and passion fruit off the trees, bought some cheap local honey, coffee, Mamawhana, rum, cocoa etc. Then a lovely lunch looking over the bay of Rincon Beach. We spent two hours on the beautiful beach, we rented an umbrella and chairs for $8.00USD total, soaking in the crystal green-blue waters on the whitest beach - 6Km- National Geographic says its the 4th best beach in the world, then down the other end of the beach for a dip in the natural fresh water pool. The tour was $90.00USD each and worth it. They had a somewhat professional photographer with us and we were able to get some great shots of us for $60.00CAD prepaid and we got the email with the pictures the next day. They were actually very good of us, but I thought we would also get the pictures of our surroundings, so I am working with them on that. We will always remember this awesome week and the friendly people!

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: An amazing resort

Highly recommend going Premium if you can- wifi, better restaurants, room service, nicer spot on beach and a pool. My boyfriend and I came here June 6th for a week and we would both rate this resort 5 stars. Every single one of the employees are so kind and generous. The food was amazing. The beach was beautiful. I couldn’t say enough about this place honestly, we had an absolutely amazing time and this resort will make for a great first vacation memory. Highly recommend

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Nice resort

Stayed at this resort for 5 nights. Very clean and friendly staff. Buffet restaurant was very clean and was greeted with a warm welcome every time. The sports bar is by far the best thing on this resort.. a GREAT place to catch a game. The only con of this resort is that the pool entertainment doesn't start until about 4pm in the afternoon when most people are napping.

Well maitnained friendly staff good nightly shows good location for going out food his good at all meals beach area well maintained snack bar at beach is very good would reccomend this resort to anybody

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: 42nd Anniversary trip to a Fantastic Resort

The resort exceeded our expectations. We stayed twice at La Romana, which is the family resort next door. This is adults only and is fantastic. It is not a large resort which makes it very easy to get around. The pools, beach area, rooms, common areas, and restaurants are beautiful and very clean. There is a fun pool by the beach, a small jacuzzi pool beside it, and a quiet pool at the other end of the resort. Our room was very clean and spacious with a well stocked mini bar. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: review for Grand Bahia Principe San Juan

went to San Juan Bahia Principe May 14 2019 with 2 other people, resort is beautiful but the buffet food is terrible, (i have never been to a resort that the buffet was open, this attracted birds and bugs) all 3 of us got very sick, other people i met on the resort got sick too. (good thing i brought alot of immodium), It got brought to my attention none of the air conditioner filters got cleaned in the rooms, i checked mine and it was filthy i even have a vidio of cleaning it and clogging the b [... read more]athtub. Once this was cleaned the air conditioner worked great. I will never go back to dominican again i've been to Cuba 5 times and have never gotten sick. Kind of scarry hearing about alot of people getting sick and dying in Dominican, didn't hear about this until after i got back and most of the resorts were the Bahia.

Barceló bavaro place exceed all my expectations.it was beautiful staff are very happy and friendly. The service was good and the rooms were clean. The food is very good, and people were great. Had a good experience.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Perfect vacation

The resort was exceptional. The rooms where clean, calm, comfortable. The food at the main buffet was always amazing. Lots of options for every taste and great themes trough the week. The beach was cleaned every day and the beach bar had an exceptional service. We enjoyed the coffee shop every day. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Absolutely Beautiful

This resort is very well maintained. The food was good, the pool was good and the activities were fun. The nightly entertainment want as entertaining as other resorts but that's just an hour of your time. They always have good animals for you to munch on and the staff take care of you. I do find that they are expectant of tops but when you find out how much they make per day/month you become more willing to give. I went during a low season and it wasn't too busy or too packed. I wish the main buffet was closed because it makes things more hygienic that way but it was still good. There was also a lot of wind at the beach so the water want that great to swim in.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Good Time

First of all, let me say that the staff are truly what make this resort. My partner was pregnant and they really did all they could for us. It was hot. Very hot. No AC in the restaurants. The AC struggled in our first room and we ended up moving rooms which had better AC. But the first night was a struggle. Resort grounds are spectacular. Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Decent resort

The resort was pretty good. I think we both felt that the food was so so. The staff were lovely and helpful. The resort itself was slightly dated but clean. I would not go there if you have mobility issues.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Wonderful time!! Great resort!!

We were greeted when we arrived by the super friendly staff. Food was superb with a wide variety of choices. Rooms were nice and kept clean on a daily basis. We absolutely love our holiday and want to go back next year.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Not Quite Ready Yet

While a very beautiful hotel with some amazing food, this hotel needs work to be considered 5 star quality. The hotel had a mould problem and did not have the boulevard ready which was disappointing since that was a big selling point for us. There were several minor problems like power outages, items missing in the room and lack of signage in the resort made some things difficult. The staff seemed overwhelmed trying to fix all problems so hopefully more staff will be hired soon.
