Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort - Special thanks to Edwin

We went on our honeymoon to this wonderful resort. We want to give a very special thanks to Edwin at check in/check out. He made our stay a most remember able and enjoyable one. The ambiance of the resort is break taking. The food was top notch and with lots of variety. The pools were very clean and fun to swim in. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Far but awesome !

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband & five month old baby. Dislike the distance from the airport ( hard when travelling with a baby) also disliked the ride to the hotel. The bus was clean & confortable temperature but the driver took a long time to leave (over an hour after everyone was boarded ) & made several stops. By the time I got to the hotel my baby & I were super cranky! Check in is a bit hectic people everywhere telling you to go to a special room to check in , I just wanted to go to  [... read more]the front desk ( they are pretty non chalont at the desk dancing & having a good time ) took total about 20 mins (they tried to make it quicker for me as I had the baby. Arriving to the room I was really pleased. It was a really nice size. I liked the bed & the style was not bad. Everything was clean. The fridge wasn't as cold as I wanted for my baby's bottles so I filled up ice at the bar each day to keep them inside the ice inside the fridge. There was also a crib in the room already which was a nice surprise as I had called ahead requesting a room close to the beach ( as I didn't want to walk far with the baby) The room location was pretty good if you want to be close to the beach & I was right outside the jerk chicken beach restaurant. Abit of a walk to the main buffet but it's a beautiful walk! The grounds as very pretty. We stayed in building 18. Had no issues with Mosquitos or bugs. So don't stay on the 1at floor just in case. Also the air conditioning was fine ! Even got too cold at night ! This is coming from someone that is always hot when everyone's cold ! The food was surprisingly good! I like a variety of food but I like high quality & was impressed. Not everything was 10/10 but the items that were good were really really good. My favorites that I'm still craving are the omelettes , bacon , cappuccino & jerk chicken. The cheesecake was good too. Yes sometimes they run out of bacon but you just need to wait a couple minutes & there's more. You just need to go for the bacon the minute you get in there ! I didn't try the mimosas but wish I would have ! They looked good. I was hoping for drinks inside coconuts or pineapples but didn't see any. The alcoholic drinks tasted strong so I didn't really like any too much. There was a cranberry cocktail at the Asian restaurant that was delicious! We were only able to do 2 a la carte meals with our package. 1 was the Asian was ok had seen better in Mexico not much of a show but good flavour. The don Pablo was really good. I had a very tender steak with a blue cheese cream sauce. The entertainment was fun! I didn't see much & only realized the last day that there is an earlier show in the lobby & a late show in the main entertainment area. Lots of shops there also! You can negotiate prices. Lots of souvenirs. Don't wait until you get the airport to buy any because they are ridiculously overpriced at the airport! Went for a massage at the spa for our anniversary & really enjoyed it. I have had massages at many hotels around the world & this was probably my second favourite! Anyhow my husband was told it would be $100 as there was a promotion & it was $130 because the promo was over. The spa said they called our room to let us know but we weren't there. We plan to call & speak to the manager to see if they will honour the price. The prices at the spa are pretty expensive. The spa is clean & nice. Overall everyone is really friendly & it was a nice family environment not as much of a party scene. Good music though !! Pool was nice ! The shady seats are taken early so if you want a good seat put your towel early like before 8am! Also my husband had tried to plan something special for our anniversary he went to the from desk & they said they would take care of if. They insisted. They ended up sending someone to set up the table for room service but they never came with any food lol. They did however send a fruit basket , small bottle of rum& 2 t shirts which was all thoughtful !

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort and Service

We were at the GBP Akumal Golden from Aug. 29th to Sept. 5th and it was one of the best trip we've ever had. The entire place was spotless because of the hardworking staff. We enjoyed the buffet food as they have so much variety everyday that you don't even have to go to the a la cartes. Patricia and the other servers were very attentive and always with a smile. The beach was awesome, specially the pools with their jacuzzi. Our rooms are cleaned everyday and fridge stocked. The only reason I did [... read more]n't rate this as a five star, since the decor and bed in the rooms could be updated, and the aircondition to work more efficiently. We stayed at building 66 and had the oceanview, however every morning, they would have delivery trucks parked infront of our balcony. We were out most of the time, so this was very minor. Next time we'll have the higher floors. Overall this resort is fantastic and would return in a heartbeat!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Wonderful Vacation

Overall, the place was great! The food was phenomenal, staff were very kind and welcoming, and the ameninties were great. Only downsides? The beach isn't very long (only a 5min walk) and the nightly entertainment was repetitive. But otherwise, gorgeous and relaxing. Definitely worth a revisit!

My family of four (we have two kids 5 and 7) stayed at Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda twice already! And we are planning to go again next year!! This is an amazing resort, very clean, great food, and great time all together!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: EXCELLENT!

My husband and I stayed here recently from aug 25th-sept 1st. We absolutely loved it. The food was great, the staff were always helpful and very polite. One staff member who stood out for us was Manuel. He worked breakfast and Lunch at the buffet and was the most polite and funny waiter we've ever experienced. Our room was fantastic, although we did have a broken door handle on our rooftop door, leading to the Jacuzzi which they fixed the next day. The resort is so peaceful and quiet, with not too many people, which was great for us when we compared it to tulum or coba because these two were always busy when we took the shuttle over. The pools were beautiful, and were never too packed. The water in the pools was always clean. One thing I will add about this resort is that the workers are constantly working to keep it in tip top shape. Unlike other resort I've visited which you sometimes don't see many staff anywhere. If your an adult looking for something quiet and in a wooded peaceful location this is your place!

Good resort, definitely worth the money - would come back. Place needs a bit of a face lift. Great service, friendly staff. Don Pablo amenities are great. Some areas need better air conditioning. Beach and pool + bar service is amazing!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Truly surpassed all expectations

I must say that the resort was splendid. The décor in the lobby and surrounding areas was glitzy and tasteful. Everything was well organized and very clean. The cleaning and grounds maintenance staff always tried working behind the scenes away from the guests. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Never felt any pressure to tip from any member of the staff (we did anyways because they deserved it). The rooms were clean with lots of space. The décor was very nice especially the washrooms. The water was warm and clear. For some reason, the sand on the beach nerve got too hot to walk on barefoot. The best part of this trip was the food. What an incredible selection.From the many buffets to the various themed luxury restaurants, everything we tried was rated 5 stars. We are already talking about going back for a winter vacation getaway.

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) As this was the first time to the DR we did not know what to expect. Absolutely fantastic grounds and service at the resort. Food was excellent and great variety, rooms spacious and pool and beach area's terrific. All staff was very accomodating to all of our needs and the entire family enjoyed the trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Never a dull moment

There were always fun things to do at this resort. There was always some sort of games near the pool, you could take out paddle boats, hit the shops, and just relax. I stayed for 2 weeks and it still felt like not enough time. With all the excursion possibilities, I recommend at the very least a 1.5 week stay. The game staff were awesome, they were personable, remembered our names. They tried to involve you in games, but they were never a bother. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort but needs upgrades

The resort was nice, very big but nice. We were very disappointed that the pools were bath tub hot - not refreshing at all. Resort needs a better cooling system for the pools. Restaurants were ok - main buffet was always very, very hot. We travel to Mexico every summer so we are aware of what is possible and how hot the climate is but these common places had no a/c at all. We went to the attendant at the pool hut and had him call for sanitation of the pool deck and pool itself. No one came for more than an hour and the pool was not treated. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Worst vacation ever!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sian Ka’an from April 11-18, 2014. This was absolutely our worst vacation ever. Things that made our trip horrible were the following: 1) Not enough umbrellas and chairs at the pool – you would think that they would make sure that they have plenty of shade for all of their guests but not at the Sian Ka’an. The pool only had 4 umbrellas available and you have to get up at 5am to make sure you got one. People were stealing umbrella and chairs from people when the [... read more]y left for lunch or were gone more than 30 minutes. I understand that after 1 hour it should be ok but people needed shade so badly they just took form others. 2) Not enough chairs and tables in the lobby. If you had dinner after 8pm and then headed to the lobby for a drink and to watch the show, good luck trying to find at table and chair to sit on. It was ridiculous, people were having to stand to enjoy a drink and the show 3) Towels and turndown service – The towels in the room were like sand paper. It was ok for the first couple of days but after being in the sun all day for a couple of days you don’t want to dry off with something that rubs your skin off. We only received turn down service twice during our entire stay. The 2 times we did get it, they did not replenish our towels. I had asked the maid for a towel and she told me 10 minutes, she dd not return with a new towel 4) No swim up bar and no waiter service at pool – We knew going here that there was no swimup bar from the reviews we had read. What we were expecting though was pool side drink service. We only got that once. All the other times we had to get out of the pool and get in a line to get a drink 5) Pools are too small and shallow – The pools are way to small for the amount of people that go swimming. At some points later in the day you couldn’t even get into the pool because it was too packed. 6) Bathrooms not close to pool. The bathrooms were not close to the pool at all. You know what this means…….. 7) No full length mirror and dresser. There was no full length mirror in the room, what this meant was while my boyfriend was showering I had to get ready in the bathroom mirror while it was all foggy and hot and I’m a bit short so I could never see my full outfit. There was also no dresser to put your items in that didn’t need to be hung up. When I go on vacation I like to relax, turn my mind off and just go with the flow. At the Sian Ka’an it is impossible to relax, you have to always be aware of the time to make sure you get a set somewhere, make sure nobody steals your chair or umbrella and no huge line up during eating times. The only 3 things that were great about the trip was the food, drinks and the sun but you can find these at anyone resort. I would definitely not return to the Sian Ka’an or recommend this resort to anyon

Nothing good there. Not a 4 star at all. Very disorganized and employees are not like north american hotelrie. When "concierge" has to check w her manager, its a big problem! Did not get my dollar value!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Much appreciated the Luxury sections of the resort

Luxury sections (pool area, beach area, buffet style restaurant, lobby, hotel room) were nice and tranquil. We had a very nice relaxing stay. Excursions organized through the tour operators at the resort were very good. Something we observed/realized while traveling in Jamaica: Workers in the tourism business expect tips (bus drivers, guides, restaurant/bar employees, housekeeping, etc). You pretty much have to have a bit of money on you at all times (even at the resort).

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fantastic Resort!

Being repeat customers to the Bahia Principe Resort, my wife and I along with another couple were upgraded to VIP class during our stay at the Adults only Ambar grounds. We were also given rooms on the second floor facing the pool by the beach! Our rooms, the grounds, public areas & washrooms, etc., were always kept clean and immaculate. Service at the pool, beach, restaurants was always with a smile and prompt. Dinner at the Ambar main restaurant was so good every night(different themes) that w [... read more]e had no reason to book at the al la carte restaurants. Alcohol drinks were well poured and never watered down. The weather was amazing (hot & sunny) during the week of Aug7-15 with some rain around 2am. The miles of beach and warm ocean made it difficult to stay by the pool and its amenities. The only frowns were from guests who were on their last day on the resort….me included. A big thanks to the staff at Ambar (Albania, Bianca, etc)…see you next year:)
