We had a great time the resort is beautiful and the service and the people were amazing the beach is beautiful the rooms are nice and clean We had a great time I will definitely come back to dream resort

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: 3* at best

The rooms were outdated and old. The black out curtains were all moldy. We had a desk but no chair. There were no irons or ironing boards. The safe is an extra $16 U.S. dollars. The pool was dirty sometimes, they need to clean it more often.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great value resort

This resort is nice, however not exactly new. The rooms are nice and are clean, but a little dated. The adults only side is very quiet and relaxing. The pools are very nice and the food is pretty good as well. The resort staff are friendly and very accommodating. We asked for a nice room and they delivered with a beautiful view of the ocean at no additional cost. Overall I feel it is a very good value resort. Plenty of restaurant choices. Beautiful beach. We enjoyed staying at the adults only with the option to use the entire resort. There is deffinately more action on the Palace side, however the peace and tranquility on the adults only side is amazing! I would definately recommend this resort.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Super Location, Great Hotel and Staff

We had the pleasure of staying at this great hotel for the past week and it was really great and lived up to our expectations! One of the most relaxing hotel and location ever. We are frequent travelers to this great region of Samana and it was our first stay at this really beautiful island hotel. Our butler Jose really made our stay super enjoyable and a really great person who was always one though [... read more]t ahead of us and it was like he knew in advance what we wanted during our stay... really special person and a real valuable asset and person to this hotel! Thank you very much Jose for making our stay so enjoyable. Another person that really stood out was Eduardo the main bartender at the beach bar. Really nice guy, very professional and he really knew how to make great drinks and take care of his customers. Thank you Eduardo! And let's not forget his great team of Erickson, Martin and Angel! Really great team and I hope the hotel recognizes their potential for their organization. Best drinks and service hands down! Now let's get to the only issue we had at this truly unique and beautiful hotel during our stay which was very surprising and even frustrating on some days...some of the staff at the main buffet (evening), terrace (evening shows) and beach restaurant (lunch) was very unprofessional in their service (Important to note it’s a small but very visible minority and not the majority of the great and hard working employees). No eye contact, hiding at the terrace during shows and not serving drinks or taking orders...honestly sometimes I had to give up on drinks! We are frequent travellers and have never heard so many times after placing an order that “we forgot" when asking where are our drinks. And the worst part is that we tip but it seems some staff was just happy goofing around or hiding rather than being active and making tips! We won't name names since it's not our job to ruin people's livelihoods but management should really get on top of this issue and even demote some of these people from direct interaction with guests or re-train them properly...other reviewers refer to this issue as a language issue but it's not....it's a training and people skills issue... This being said we will be back and we hope that management will fix this issue.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Definitely NOT a 4 Star

This hotel was very basic, not that nice service was not great- we had a few nice staff in the dining area but other than that not friendly. Food was good, but not 4 star quality. My son got sick the last day after eating lunch. Would not return. And it was empty barely any people checked in and lots of local Dominicans. The bathroom stunk every night like backed up sewer so we asked to change rooms and the new room had a broken shower head and broken tv that didn’t work. No irons in the room  [... read more]and when I requested one they brought me one thy didn’t work. You have to pay for the safe lock and wifi in your room.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Best resort I have stayed at!

The pictures do not do this hotel justice and it’s the people that make this place a home. Our Butler Emilio always went out of his way and this was a great touch. The beach waiters were amazing and the pool waiter was awesome! Yes we did tip but we’ll desereved for their hard work. The food is soooo good and I am a picky eater. This was a quick 4 night escape with friends but we will be back with family.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice resort, but....

Hotel was beautiful all around. Unfortunately my wife and I were drugged by Eric the pool bartender, with the intention to rob us. Luckily our kids saved us and got us to our room. The management are trying to sweep it under the rug but I am pursuing this issue to hopefully help bring awareness to this issue

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great Trip

The grounds of this resort were very well taken care of. There were lots of beautiful trees. There was only one buffet at this resort and unfortunately my husband and I both were disappointed. The food was always the same and to be quite honest, this was our first time in Dominican Republic where we didn’t like the food😔 Luckily we did have three a la carts where we could choose from a few restaurants. We did find this resort very big, a lot of walking but thankfully they had a trolly to take you from one end to the other.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort!

Hotel was beautiful. Maid service excellent. The food was also excellent. New themes every night for the buffet and great a la cartes. It is a bigger resort so you will ride the trolly carts most places or walk. Lots of pools to choose from, great music and a great time overall!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Be live collection Punta Cana

The resort is very nice. The down falls are the main pool is extremely dirty with no filtration. The water is very murky. The burger place is terrible. The burgers , wings , fries onion rings, are made in advance and are served cold. It’s a waste of food and effort. They keep making them and there is no heating rack. The taste terrible The main buffet is clean and great food.

for first time in the Dominican republic it did not wow me what so ever . the resort was very nice people that work there take a lot pride working there. friendly too greet you @ restaurant or Pool clean place that i was happy . NOW THE PROBLEM ! we wanted a Adult resort this place has multiple complex with family then there where beach that was over populated crowded area . you have to view it this way there are over 7 hotel on this resort that share this one beach that about 2 block long full [... read more] of hut and lough chair side by side that rope off into hotel zone. so there wasn't true Adult beach with little to no space. when we arrive May 28 we wanted to book dinner for the week stay the only one was on June 2 every other restaurant where book out already for the week .So we eat buffet rest of the stay . had romantic dinner that was extra $110 US meal they did nice we enjoy that evening . as for live entertain it was lobby signing no show there a show at other hotel but start @ 9:00 pm had to walk or take golf cart ride there. then if you wanted extra there was premium privillage you pay for black wrist band that give you beige towel and not blue towel on beach and restaurant perk more to pick from . we have book many other resort in past and we been very please this one put damper on our anniversary i would'nt recommend this place if you looking for relaxing Adult enviroment

Riu Bambu: Amazing Resort

The grounds were very well maintained. The food was amazing. The staff was very good. I would recommend this to anyone. We did two excursions on the property and they were so much fun. We did parasailing and catamaran. The room were a good size.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Small clean relaxing

This is an all adult resort mixed with time share condos on the grounds around. viva wyndham v havens is a nice resort to visit and relax but beaches are about 5 to 7 min.walk to the beach thru a walkway , once there the beach is nice and lots of lounge chairs but little shade available you have an snak restaurant and a bad also close by.The only problem is the local peddlers selling cheap DR souvenirs. The service on the resort is very good and friendly either in buffet or bars also cleaning [... read more] was very good in our room (cleaned every day)the resort is clean in itself the problem only one pool and little shade not enough umbrella. They had 5 restaurants total one buffet and 4 other alacarts which were not open all the times.Buffet was ok I wouldn't say it was excellent you could find something to eat all the time. There breakfasts were probably the best the only complaint about food is they over cook everything dry.? The other restaurant that was ok was Italian on the beach , seafood, Mexican and medeterian were not that good.. They had lot of activities for you to do if you were up them great entertainment staff that tried to get everyone involved that wanted to participate. The resort is rated 4+ which is not I would say more like 3+ at best. If the price is right I would recommend this resort other then that they are tons of resorts around that offer more for same value at this time of year. We had a small room in the resort which didn't even have a chair to sit down on ,asked for an upgrade told it wasent available I know resort wasent even 50% capacity so not sure about the management.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Breathless Punta Cana

I had a great 5 day stay at Breathless Resort in Punta Cana. The food was amazing. I was not used to A La Cart being included in my package so it was just a plus in that aspect. I was not use to having a mini fridge being stocked every day at no charge so that was amazing too. I had a Jacuzzi on my balcony which I used every day and I faced the quieter pool which again was great. The staff were so friendly!!!! I felt really safe here. The entertainment every night was spectacular and the drinks where delicious!! Lots of dancing so bring your dancing shoes!!!! There is a little market that is 2 minutes away just outside the resort that has more of a selection for gifts and prices are much better then the stores in the resort itself so be sure to check it out!!! I had a blast and made a couple of nice friend that I still keep in touch with. Only thing I would like to mention is do not leave the resort alone Always travel outside the resort with someone or in a group.

I have to say, ignore all negative reviews about this resort. I went with my daughter for 7 days to Fantasia and lived a dream vacation. It’s a perfect combination of a family and classy resort. Clean, well organized, super entertaining. The staff is very friendly and attentive to our needs. They take great care of the kids. The food is delicious and there’s a lot of variety. The room was AMAZING. The beach was beautiful, the pools were so much fun. My daughter loved the water slides. We did [... read more] a professional photo shoot with Tropic One studio and we went for a half a day excursion with the Why Not party boat. Both unforgettable experiences. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great bang for buck!

Paid less than $1800 for 2 adults.Nice pool, good food friendly people. What else do you really need? No shade on beach and quite a few vendors was really the only negative. Would have played a round of golf if not for mandatory caddie.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Be Live Collection Marien exceeded my expectations

I booked this resort thru Melissa Alexander and Trip Central and thought it would be just soo so. I got a big surprise. Melissa answered my questions thoroughly about the resorts that I enquired about. She gave me regular updates about pricing and price changes before I booked my vacation. She also forwarded information about excursions and other things to use/go to during our vacation. We flew out of Edmonton on WestJet, landing in Toronto and then flew to Puerto Plata, DR. It took about 3 [... read more]0 minutes to get to the resort. The check in was quick and efficient with the porter driving us and our bags to our room. It was on the first floor in Building 3. This building is close to the beach and most restaurants. Melissa had the resort give us the building and room that we wanted, close to the beach, first floor and close to the restaurants. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The a la carte's were all good as well as the main buffet and small snack restaurant and bar on the beach. The room was cleaned every day and the mini bar filled with pop, water and beer. It was the start of the off season with about 20% capacity. The resort is very clean and well maintained. The beach is cleaned every morning and you can wall a long distance to the right and a shorter distance to the left. I will return to this resort in the future and will recommend it to other s planning a vacation to the south. I have been booking vacations thru Trip Central since 2008 and with Melissa since 2014/2015. I find her helpful, efficient, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I will continue to book with Melissa and Trip Central in the future and will highly recommend her to others planning on booking vacations. Thank you once again Melissa and Trip Central.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

The Impressive Premium was beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The resort, as a whole, is well kept. The beach was kept raked, unlike some of the ones we walked by. The entertainment was fun and the staff were very polite and helpful. The food was not the greatest, to be honest but there was always something to eat. Loved the pools!
