We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, spacious with everything we needed and a very nice big bathroom. The large balcony with outdoor tub was great! We liked all the pools, nice to be able to sit in different areas of the resort throughout our stay. We found the service and food good value for what we paid, especially the 'privilege' perks. Beach is small but nice, lots of fish that were easy to see even without snorkels. The staff in the kids club were great.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Awesome time!
The platinum side of this resort was pretty awesome. I've been to the grand sunset and the riviera and now the Platinum. This was just a touch above the others. Booked a swim up room which was very unique and lots of fun. Not too noisy but not too quite. Great time overall!

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Good resort
Nice resort with nice service. My room was spacious and clean. The hotel is at 20 km of Puerto Vallarta a little bit to far for me. The beach is perfect, very quiet. The food at the buffet and the grill was correct but the asian restaurant was not very good. The mexican restaurant is reserved for the people of the time sharing. It's not indicate on the website. Overall, the vacation was a nice experience.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful!
If you love nature and all it has to offer, this resort is for you. We spent hours and hours just walking on the trails at the resort and at the park. The rooms are beautiful, the pools are great, the adult section with the natural pool is awesome! Superb meals all around. Will definitely return.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Quite a Fun Resort
This Hotel has it all mostly. Great service and staff and good food. Good choice of restaurants although the Mexican bfast and lunch is not open on a regular basis. the Japanese restaurant is quite popular and people wait in long lines to book a dinner time.
There is good entertainment, teen room, tennis and batting courts. The rooms are quite spacious and one big benefit is no mosquitoes when we were there. There are a good number of swimming pools. I love that there is guy who makes crepes n[... read more]ear one of the pools for a good part of the day. The beach side restaurant is also pretty good. My only point about the resort which is quite long and has a shuttle service too is the Beach. There are a lot of small rocks and when the waves come in, they really hurt and hit hard which can be quite painful. My advice would be to dredge the beach area to ensure there is soft sand only instead of the small pebbles and rocks that keep making it very inconvenient to walk around.

Occidental Cozumel: Good value for money.
Pros:
- Great beach
- Big rooms
- Buffet is above average for this type of hotel
Cons:
- The hotel walls are very thin. When our neighbour coughed, it woke us up
- Service isn't great. Attitude from the poorly trained staff and you will have problems booking your la carte reservations, checking in and out and getting towels
- Stay away from the seafood restaurant!! Very old seafood.
- The nightly entertainment isn't any bargin (Karaoke night means the staff puts on 3 songs and shuts i[... read more]t off)
- The after hours pizzeria is never open so make sure to fill up at dinner.
Overall, we had a nice stay once we figured out what to stay away from. It is good value for $1100-$1200 but I wouldn't pay anymore. The beach is fantastic. We ended up eating in Cozumel (off resort) three nights and would recommend you do the same if you want a nice dinner. The service is awful both at front desk and at the buffets. We had to get our own utensils and beverages almost every night even though you are supposed to get these from the wait staff. Not a huge deal but was frustrating.

Ocean Maya Royale: Consistent
We have been here three times in the last 18 months.
Food and drinks are great. The only thing better is the staff.
The 4 restaurants and buffet will not leave you wanting. The beach is clean and seaweed free most days.
Will return again.

Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta: Great location and wonderful hotel
We stayed at the Grand Park Royal for 1 week , it was a wonderful stay . You are a short 15 min bus ride for 10 pesos to get into downtown PV , or a taxi if you so wish. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and you can also catch the bus to go to Mismaloya or Boca.
The hotel is a small hotel which was very clean the rooms were amazing , large , mini fridge stocked daily for free , one free room service daily as well , the food always showed up quickly and delicious. The views are amazing , w[... read more]e spotted turtles and whales from our deck. The waves dependent on the weather can be large or small, but enjoyable to listen to ..( listen is why we wanted ocean front , otherwise we would of stayed in PV if we didn’t want to listen to the waves) .
The food was always fresh and there was always lots to choose from. The coffee and dessert bar was great ! The snack bar at the bar was a regular pool snack bar with hamburgers, hot dogs and nachos and cheese.everything being cooked fresh . All the eating areas were confined under glass wall , this was great to keep the food clean and away from flies. It did seem that the pool lounge chairs did get covered with towels regularly , we are not pool people so it did not bother us. There were many other spots around the hotel to watch the ocean ,( including the balcony in the room). We found all the employees at the hotel very friendly and helpful, from Hector the bell boy to Izzy at the front desk , all very helpful.
If you want a smaller hotel with a location away from the hustle and bustle of PV but close enough to get into PV very easily this is it.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Treated Us Like Family
The hotel had splendid views to the ocean and the property was well maintained by staff. The food at the restaurants were of high quality and the alcoholic beverages were made with brand name liquor. The servers were attentive and pleasant, everyone at the resort was nice and welcoming. The staff treated us like family, and did not push us for tips. The pool closer to the ocean was heated, while the larger pool was rather cold, but there was enough space to swim around. We had our wedding at the[... read more] resort and the planner went above and beyond in making it the best day for us. We had magical ceremony and romantic dinner on the beach. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great resort, amazing service!
We stayed at VIM from January 2-9 2020. A This was our first visit to Mexico, but we have been to Cuba many times, the Dominican twice and Antigua a couple of times.
We are a married couple in our mid 30’s. The age range here is vast. No certain age range seemed to dominate. There were young, old and everyone in between.
We booked a deluxe junior suite but we were put in a silver in building 1. The room was nice and big, updated, built in bluetooth speakers, separate toilet area a rainfall[... read more] shower, and a separate jetted tub. There is only a thin curtain that you can see through separating the bathroom from the bedroom area. This wasn’t a problem for us.
The grounds are stunning and amazingly well kept. Absolutely love the “jungle†feel of this resort. The main pool is HUGE. The towel game is the same here as anywhere. I was usually up around 8am and there was always lots of chairs to choose from at the pool (sun or shade). 2 mornings they did come around and take all of the towels off of the saved chairs though.
The beach was beautiful. White sand, turquoise water. It was rough most days because it was quite windy. But the waves were fun. There was zero seaweed. Even without seaweed, a tractor still cane every morning and groomed the sand. Excellent beach volleyball court on the beach (although the net is a bit high, likely to prevent spiking).
The service here is what really stands out. It doesn’t matter what room type you are in or if you tip or not, the service here is amazing. There are no “2nd class citizensâ€. The waiters/waitresses are constantly walking by asking you if you want drinks at the pool and at the beach. At the restaurants, I always had a fresh drink before mine was empty and they were very attentive to us.
The food was really good. We ate at Taman Sari (Indonesian), Ginger (Japanese), L’Alsace (French) and L’Olivio (Italian) and La Havienda (Mexican). Our favourites were the Indonesian and Japanese. Italian and Mexican were also really good. The French was good, but not stand out. I would skip the buffet they have with the show. We did not enjoy it very much.
For lunch we had the buffet but were not too impressed. We loved the food they had at the main pool every day. The tacos are incredible!!
The main pool is basically split into 2 sides - the quiet side and the party side. We opted for the party side - music playing, activities going on, lots of people at the swim up bar having a great time!! I usually opt for the beach, but loved this pool. Always something to do. There is also the small silver pool and the golden pool (lazy river) that are both VERY quiet if you want total relaxation.
The GO team was awesome. Loved playing Beach volleyball twice a day!! They would leave us the ball so that we could keep playing passed the allotted time. They were always walking around getting people to participate and announcing the activities at the main pool. A shout out to Memo and Jesus!!!
The nightlife here is good. There is usually live music in the square before the show and also after the show. The imperial band is really good. We only saw a couple shows - they were ok. The Michael Jackson show was fantastic and I highly recommend not missing it.
The resort was close to capacity, yet it never felt crowded or busy during the day or at night. Don Miguel’s was great for a before and after dinner drink. Some very cool drinks are made here. The martini bar outside the lobby was also good. The sports bar had playoff football on and it was packed. An excellent atmosphere for the games for sure!!!
The one negative that stands out is the Coffee. It needs improvement. There are besides so machines in every room and in the lobby, but the coffee isn’t great. Cappuccino from the martini bar in the morning was good, especially with a shot of 1921 in it. But we love our morning coffee and were a bit sissPoibted by it. I hope that they seriously consider adding a coffee shop to this resort, that would make it perfect!! There are too many amazing things about this resort to let the sub par coffee bother us though.
A lot of people we talked to that have been to Mexico multiple times said this is their favourite resort. This was our first trip to Mexico and would absolutely return to the awesome resort.

The grounds, pools and rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Lots of things to do like shows, excursions and activities. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and plentiful. Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Great family friendly resort
This resort was very lovely! The staff was amazing and very friendly! The beach was well maintained, and I loved that there was a safe swimming area available. The pool was great and we absolutely loved the swim up bar. Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Sunscape PV review
The hotel is very close to the airport; transfers were included. Courteous, accommodating and professional staff - from the airport transfer to housekeeping. As always some items are overlooked but quickly rectified, such as coffee refills, missing towels or stocking the mini fridge with water. Entertainment staff are extremely energetic and engaging. Lots of activities at this resort and the location is convenient. No bracelets issued so always being asked for my room number. Only one poo[... read more]l and it's a bit cold but it wasn't crowded. If you want a lounge chair with shade get there early! The beach is okay but this resort is on "hotel alley" which means many interruptions from vendors. The hotel itself is dated - the bathroom lighting was very poor but the beds were comfortable. Toilet worked very well. WiFi is not included outside the lobby area and is expensive to purchase. The food was good and as expected; you can eat anywhere as long as it's open (no reservations or limitations) however all restaurants are not open every day and when one is closed for dinner, you better line up early at the others. Lots of good restaurants in the area outside the resort within easy walking distance if preferred. I appreciated the daily activity sheet which outlined the restaurants that were open with times, entertainment schedule, temperature, etc. including a daily drink special! For our purposes (we were 3 adults in a room) double beds were a challenge (queen size would have been nice) but we weren't willing to upgrade for the cost. Other detractors include the dark bathroom (makes it hard to get ready; had to use a flashlight), broken toilet seat (which was replaced proactively on day 5) and musty smell (ocean view room). I was a bit disappointed at the price point compared to other resorts we've stayed at however we've always been a 45 minute bus ride from the airport so assuming location is the reason for the higher cost? It was nice to try one right in PV where a quick cab ride let us experience the Malecon. We felt very safe here, inside and outside the resort. Everyone was friendly and welcoming - an overall good experience. Would I recommend to a friend? That depends. It's a smaller resort with still lots to offer and great service but it is dated and about 20% more than previous vacations. I have no other experience within city limits to compare it to so not comfortable referring at this time.

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Great resort
This was a great Resort for my family along with our two and a half year old son. It was very clean and the service was excellent. My only complaint that I would have is that the food was average. It seemed to be many of the same meals at all of the a la carte restaurants. I would highly recommend this if you were looking to go somewhere that is very family and children oriented. Also be aware that the resort is about 10 minute bus ride from Ixtapa. We went to Ixtapa a few times as the beach was[... read more] much better then the one out front of the resort.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Third amazing visit!
This was mine and my wife's third visit to the Royal Decameron Complex. This time we brought our 13 and 14 year old daughters for a surprise trip. Everything about the trip and the resort was amazing! The staff are all so friendly, the beach is beautiful and the other guests are so pleasant. It is an older resort and this shows but it adds to the charm in my opinion. Its large, sprawling and you never feel crowded. 100% will return many more times over the years.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Sweet resort
The resort was fabulous, food pretty decent and staff were super nice. Issue we did have however, we arrived 8AM from an over night flight with next to no sleep, and had no room to rest in as check in was not until 3pm.We had to figure out 6'ish hours by the pool, where we ended up sleeping. Uncomfortable start to the trip.
