Memories Jibacoa: Another fine vacation at Memories Jibacoa

This was our ninth time to the resort....consistent, quality, relaxing! Beach seems even better than we remembered. Being near those beautiful reefs we had remembered a vast but coarser sand than we were used to at other resorts, but it was much finer this time around, with the addition of new beach loungers and palapas, plenty to go around. This is a small, adults only resort on the beach...exactly the three top "must haves" for us. Usually has an older crowd, another preference for us, so it is a bit tamer than other locations. Still lots to do if you choose to do off-site excursions or participate in the many group activities on the resort. The buildings themselves are now getting a bit tired, and I would like to see more brand name liquors, but other than that, they do a very good job and give you their best. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort.

Overall the resort was fantastic. The food was ok could have been a little better but we did not starve. Layout was great small enough you did not have to walk far to get to any part of the resort. The room was great a step up from what we were used to. The only problem was there was no toilet paper in the bathroom by the beach. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Muthu Playa Varadero: We're going again!!!

Our entire trip experience was fantastic. Maria @TripCentral provided great service. Sunwing squished but on time and friendly. The resort was excellent, good people, service and lots to do for family!

Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories Varadero,Cuba

Amazing resort.Grounds were beautiful,public areas very clean,washrooms very clean and always had toilet paper.Dining was awesome.White lounge chairs were uncomfortable, bring a cushion. We stayed in building 24 and we're close to the beach.Got up early (6:30 am) to reserve a cabana. Beach is beautiful.Staff are wonderful and very helpful and willing to make your stay a good one. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Playa Caleta: Could use some TLC

Room was great. Food was not great, very little variety and not always a great selection. A la cartes were amazing. Our maid Adeles was fantastic and went the extra step for us. Elevators were often slow and 1 out of 3 did not work. Grounds were kept but could have been better.

Melia Varadero: Fun

All was good did a great job on my daughters wedding.. Staff was good... Buffet could use a bigger verity of food... Overall a great trip... Beach is the best... Had a good time going into Veradero in the old car's... Always enjoy the Cuba people

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great family vacation

The resort is what you make of it. It could definitely use some upgrades. The lobby washrooms are in need of Reno. Food was good, quite a surprise there. It was a good deal! Would go back for sure!!!'

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointing Experience

One of the reasons we chose to go to Cuba was the friendliness of the Cuban people, I didn't find this at this resort. We work in the hospitality/tourist industry and with the exception of housekeeping, a few servers (I wish I'd noted their names) and the masseur on the beach found the staff morale to be very low, very few staff smiled or seemed happy; usually a management issue. The grounds & beach were beautiful, and our room was very clean; maintenance issues were never addressed, shoulder [... read more]s were shrugged by front desk staff when they were reported to the desk. We were travelling with my 78 year old father & other family; the phone in our room didn't work and we wanted to be able to get in touch with my dad and wanted him to be able to get in touch with us in case of illness and he was away from our room and calling would have been easier than 4 flights of stairs and walking 2 buildings over for him, even telling us it has never worked would have been better than the shrugging & "he'll fix it". The buffet was okay, ala carte restaurants were good, air conditioning would have helped, I wasn't going for the food though. If you want a shaded chair on the beach or poolside get a towel on the seat before 6:30 am, we read that this practice wasn't allowed at this resort but found otherwise. on our last day we had to check out at noon, we were told by our Sunwing rep that we would have use of the facility until our bus came at 12:15 am that night, access to a shower & a room to change in. We went to change at about 8:00 pm and were told that the spa closed at 6:00 and that we would have to change in the bathroom (they aren't the cleanest places in the hotel or big); again the desk staff shrugged their shoulders. I would visit Cuba again, its a beautiful country, I would avoid Veradero though and head to a more tourist friendly area, I heard from more than a few people that Santa Maria was far better and that this resort wasn't typical. Our trip with Blexie Tours to Havana was AMAZING, our guide, Rolando & driver, Alex were great, incredibly knowledgable, friendly, I can't say enough good things about them! Old Havana is beautiful, and I would recommend seeing it!!! We took the Jeep tour, driving through Matanzas was an experience, the countryside was nice, meal at the farm was very good; my only complaint is that the guide only spoke to the local vendors, it would have been nice to get some info from him regarding the areas we visited; other tour guides at the sites did chat with us and answered our questions however, same company so we just seemed to get a less involved guide. I still had a great vacation and like I said, I'd go back to Cuba, I won't stay at another Iberostar and will head to other areas of the island.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great family resort

This was our fourth stay at the Bella Costa. The staff are very friendly. I found the food quite good and options have improved since our last visit with the addition of an outdoor 'cafeteria' and an outdoor barbecue. Facilities are clean but starting to show some wear, e.g. the outdoor stage is so badly warped that all shows are now inside the building at the disco. Hopefully they fix the stage soon as we always enjoyed watching the shows outdoors. We stayed in a Family Suite which has a spacio [... read more]us living room, balcony and 2-pc bathroom on the main floor and two large bedrooms​, each with its own full bathroom in an upper loft. This was a fantastic room for our group (my husband and two children and our inlaws). Beach is beautiful. Pool is also nice. Lots of daily activities at the resort hosted by the 'animacion' team. Great value for your money!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing!!!

We had just stayed here April 3,2017. We enjoyed lots of what this resort had to offer. The room was musty, but we had the door open. Great food, entertainment. For a weeks stay lots to do without side trips! Taking the bus into town was easy as well we felt very safe everywhere we went. This resort we will be back. As the royal service was just as wondedul if you paid to upgrade.

Playa Vista Azul: Good resort - lacking in service

I have stayed at H10 Ocean Casa del Mar in Cayo Santa Maria 9 months ago which lead myself and my boyfriend to book at this hotel in Varadero. For the price, we couldn't complain though we thought that the service - especially in the restaurants - were lacking. We thought maybe it was due to our age (early 20s) but it was lacking to say the least (i.e., we would go through breakfast without even being offered a coffee). Also - the food whether in the "A la carte" or buffet, was always cold u [... read more]nless prepared at the seafood/pasta/meat stations (cooked per order). But, no one goes to cuba for the food unfortunately. Considering everything else, it wasn't terrible. The room was always clean, the resort is maintained, the lobby pool views are brilliant (especially at sunset), and the resort isn't big so you never feel overwhelmed or lost. We booked this trip to Varadero for the sole purpose of going to Havana for a day and that we did and found relaxation along with it. Needless to say, we could have definitely stayed a week more if time permitted despite the faults.

Everything is just super, perfect beach, very nice stuff, super entertainment, very good pools. Amazing grounds. The food is good too, especialy for Cuba. A lot of things to do. Kids friendly! Will recomend!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Just OK

The resort itself was lovely, the room basic, food adequate, airline service (Airtransat) great and the workers grossly understaffed. Did not feel I received quality for the money I paid for this vacation. Enjoyed myself but would not return unfortunately.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good resort

The room was good although the bedding was not very fresh. The shower was very good and there was plenty of hot water. The staff at the hotel were friendly and pleasant. However the food wasn't great; I realize this isn't uncommon in Cuba! The beach was super and always clean; likewise the pool.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fantastic staff

My boyfriend and I stayed from the 3rd to the 10th of April. From the front desk to checking out the experience over all was fantastic. The bartenders and cocktail servers in the pool area were beyond hospitable ( Kensi, Navis, Aylin, and the rest of the staff their) The beach was amazing, clean bright and roomy! Housemaid's were quick but efficent with tidying our room. The Cuban restaurant was our favourite The waiter that server us was more the helpful. (Due to a double booking and mess [... read more]ed-up up dates for our reservations) Our Havana Colonial excursion was amazing although wished we had a bit more free time. I would love to go back to this resort mostly due to the amazing staff! We never wanted to leave! Thank you to everyone at Laguna Azul!!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Very enjoyable resort

We have been to Varadero 6 times. We really liked this resort, hotel, beach, staff and no complaints about the food. There were alot of mosquitoes in the evening. Spanish a la carte restaurant was great. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: i loved it

there really isn't anything negative. The food, people and rooms were great. The pools and everything were in close walking distance and since I have a lot of pain with walking it was perfect. Everyone was helpful and the a la carte meals were unreal. my favourite was the Japanese. I would recommend this resort and would one day return. Oh ya and the beach was just amazing.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: THE WORSE RESORT EVER!!!!

If you are reading this review, please choose another resort! This comes from a person that is not that picky on things! Our room was so dirty, towels were not changed ( Yes you read that right) and we had to call service to clean our room. Sink was disgusting and to think that we waited so long for that room to be prepared....from our 7 days there, room was cleaned only 3 times. I had to go myself and ask for fresh towels and water every day. Food was disgusting and plates were so dirty..... [... read more]I dont even know if anyone there is in charge for checking these things. And I gave tips everwhere I went hoping to get beter service....Such a waste of money... The only thing I liked was the pool. Never, ever going back to this resort and I hope you don't too...

Hotel Los Cactus: Nice resort

I just got back from Veradero Cuba. I travelled with my brother and 2 girl friends. We enjoyed a comfortable stay at Los Cactus Resort. Other than a few minor incidents the hotel was fine. We were treated well by the staff who made us feel very welcome. We had very enjoyable conversations with Roberto from the Duna Bar and Alfredo from the a la carte dining room. The beach grill was great and Carlos makes a mean hot dog and burger. Our housekeeper Nancy was amazing, very friendly  [... read more] and accommodating. Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing Vacation

This resort has it all, a very large resort with friendly staff that is willing to take care of your every need. Stating at the resort lobby you will find a very open space where you will often find entertainment going on at the two cocktail bars. The lobby opens up and takes you on to the beautiful grounds of the resorts with many palm trees and different tropical vegetation surrounding the many walkways, pools and restaurants. The pools are large and beautiful with lots of lounges for catching [... read more] the suns rays and working on your tan. If the pools are not your thing than the sandy beach will definitely will be. The room seem to be recently renovated with a bathroom with lots of hot water and pressure. The resort provides entertainment every night and is worth going to. The resort does need some work in some areas but they are working at it as staff is seem painting, trimming vegetation and mowing. The board walk on one of the paths to the beach is in need of repair and you will need to be careful using it. There is a large eating area with lots of choices to pick from only problem it that often the food is only warm and far from hot, Try get there when it opens to get hot food.
