Blau Privilege Cayo Libertad: Awesome time at this resort!

We stayed at this resort from April 2nd to April 9th. From reading reviews before we left I was a bit apprehensive in booking, some are good and some are bad reviews. Upon arriving at 4 am, we had read on a previous review to get dropped off at the main Blau marina resort as they would shuttle us over to Blau cayo, if the bus drops you at Blau cayo you will have to come back by golf cart and check in. The resort is [... read more] clean, the food is not too great, Some stuff over cooked, but we didn't starve, the chicken was over cooked always tough to cut. Lobster I had was overcooked, however we had the lobster salad and it was amazing! burgers are awesome, my husband liked the pizza and the lasagna was pretty good. Breakfast, we liked that they gave you buns, meat and cheese with fruit. Funny things happened like you would ask for one thing but get another, or not get something at all even if asking a few times. we just rolled with it. Pool is nice and the view from the pool cannot be any better. The beach is ok on this side, but much nicer on the marina side. The staff were great to us, Rolando at the pool bar and the staff at the restaurant are all wonderful. There were other people complaining about room issues but we had none. All in all we would most likely go here again!

Starfish Jibacoa: Garden Of Eden

Great holiday at a decent price point in a beautiful setting. Check in is a bit sketchy as they leave you on your own to find your room but once you find it you are pleasantly surprised. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the snorkelling is great. Some of the staff are friendlier than others but the staff we did engage with were the best and were always concerned that we were enjoying ourselves. The buffet needs to be enlarged to accommodate large numbers and the food was adequate but  [... read more]temperature regulation was also an issue. A minor criticism would be the quality of the wine at evening meals. It appeared that the wine was regularly being "watered" down in order to accommodate the number of diners and at times was not even drinkable. On the whole the plusses definitely outweighed minor inconveniences and we cannot wait to go back!!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: what a great resort

was a great resort, the best we have been to yet.and will be back.great people as usual and food and grounds just amazing. everything was so clean and to have butlers was amazing too.entertainment people were so talented.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Good resort

The grounds were very well kept but there needs to be a lot of upgrades to this hotel. The main lobby was beautiful but the WIFI was very poor, it would take a long time to connect just to send a message and it would drop halfway through the message and needed to reconnect again. I would rate this hotel around a 3 1/2 stars. A few of the front lobby staff were not customer service friendly and their English was poor, I wished I knew more Spanish because they talked at lot in Spanish but o [... read more]f course it is their country. The bathrooms in the main lobby had three stalls in the women's bathroom and only one toilet had a seat. I think toilet paper is gold there because very seldom there was any in the stalls. The food was better than I expected and I always went to where the food was being cooked in front of me at the buffet and most of the staff were friendly.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing vacation

Our room was spotless everyday. Everything worked in the room and there was no previous damage. Well maintained. The grounds keepers were on top of everything all the time. Beautiful grounds. The food was excellent. Always hot and an amazing selection at every meal. The wait staff was excellent. They were always willing to make your dining experience great. (Topping up your water, coffee, taking away dirty dishes, etc) Always cheerful and friendly. The entertainment was excellent. A  [... read more]wide variety of local acts and presenters . The "Butler" was willing to do most anything to make your vacation care free. He was there if you needed him and he always asked if everything was o.k. Management was visible and interested in making your stay the best in Cuba. The bar staff were ALWAYS friendly and cheerful. The beach was clean and litter free. The beach attendant made sure he found a lounger for you in the shade. EVERYONE was super friendly . They really made an effort to make sure you feel special. Connecting to internet was easy.

Los Delfines: CLUB LOS DELFINES - AMAZING RESORT

Returned to Club Los Delfines, Varadero, March 31st, 2017 for one week; pleasantly surprised with lots of upgrades and refreshing in the premises; as always, the staff is so helpful and wonderful; food was good, and I can say, notwithstanding it's a 3.5 star, there was lots of variety and fresh food, no complaints whatsoever. Playa Vista Azul: I enjoyed my stay the resort was clean and well groomed.

I was surprised that so many tripping hazards were built into the construction. I MANAGED TO FALL OFF THE SIDEWALK LIKE A TREE FALLING OVER BY THE WEDDING GAZEBO ! THE SIDEWALK SITS HIGH IN THAT SPOT ABOVE THE SOIL, I came home with a broken shoulder bone as this happening less than an hour before the bus took me to the airport.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not nearly as good as when it was the Riu Varadero

The grounds have not been kept as well as before and many of the washrooms on site were out of service. It's a bigger resort and people need those washrooms. The resort is pretty run down. Many staff members asking for things from you. I've been all over Cuba and I've never experienced this kind of boldness before. The beach is great although it's tough to get a chair. Lots of music playing which is great.

Playa Caleta: Beautiful View

While the hotel is a little rundown, it is perfectly clean. The elevators are slow and only one or two work at a time, but who's in a rush on holiday anyway? The staff are wonderful. We had an ocean view room on the 7th floor and the view is spectacular. Even if you got a room on the other side, the view of the canal and countryside is also very nice. We had hot water every day, but many rooms did not have hot water at all. The food in the buffet is very limited and repetitive, but there was always something to eat. We especially appreciated the omelettes in the morning, the oxtail and beef ribs. Too much cabbage, but they are catering to Russians. The a la carte restaurants are very good. Be sure to get in line early (3-4pm) as the Russians tend to book the entire restaurant to themselves in large groups. The hotels are heavily populated by Russians who are extremely rude, push their way in front of lines and never tip the staff. This would be the only reason why we would never return there. They really are a miserable bunch of people. The hotel is close to Varadero and you can walk there if you so wish. The beach is very wide and quite long. The sand is course and full of shells. The water was a beautiful aquamarine color and so nice to swim in. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Cuban people are friendly and accommodating and if you are kind to them and give them a smile, they are willing to do anything for you.

Paradisus Varadero: Defenitley NOT a 5 star!

Rooms in our section old and need desperate updates- problems with noisy or non working air conditioners, lack of towels, clogged sinks, black mould, lack of bottled water. There are NO bathrooms at beach or pool area- you have to walk quite far to the front lobby. Beach is nice- pool is dirty with sand as there are no showers working at pool area, lots of algae in pool and very deep to swim in. Garbage and empty liquor bottles from beach laying around the whole week not sufficient lounge c [... read more]hairs and broken ones left in piles on beach and at side of resort Ran out of plates at buffet , hard to get water refills, all staff are not happy, line ups to get into buffet and then you had to find some seating. Need to change this from a 5 star to a 3 or 3.5 !! Maybe Royal and family side of resort has new buildings but the old side needs a lot of work!

Melia Marina Varadero: Slightly above average

We enjoyed our time at the resort mainly due to the group we traveled with. The staff is excellent, room was good and food was adequate. The lack of shade at both the pool and beach and need to save loungers were negatives for me. The entertainment was quite professional in the evening but the venues for it were very crowded. Location is not the best.....furthest resort from Varadero. We were at this resort for a wedding and several things did not go as planned ....I would not recommend this res [... read more]ort for a wedding.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Very nice

We arrived at naviti April 2. We had an amazing time. The hotel was well redone and was appealing to look out. We heard a few people complain about their rooms however we had no problems. Our room was always clean. The only complaint I had about the rooms is they did not provide beer in the fridge or soft drinks. You only received a bottle of water each day. Hotel Bella Costa: Ok resort

When I enter the resort I was disappointed because we booked with travel agent and she said it was great, we were more disappointed when we enter our room on second floor. Our friends were on first floor and wanted to go to another resort but they put them on the second floor. This resort is old and the rooms should have make over. If you get it for good price and don't care what rooms are like you can put up with the rest of resort. I had problem with bird poop on all chairs in dining room so I did mention it the last day we were there so hopefully they clean the chairs,,,there's no need of bird poop on chairs when half the time the waiters and waitresses are standing around talking but that's Cuba. I don't think I would go back unless I stayed in the villas with were nicer then the hotel.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Holiday

The resort was very well maintained. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. Beach towels were in our room when we arrived but only able to exchange them about every second day - the laundry is done off site so they only have what they receive. Not a big deal for us! Bath towels came each day. Bar fridge was stocked every second day with beer, water and soft drinks. The food was good. The drinks were great - premium liquor. All in all the Alameda was great value! We talked to many repeat guests. We would definitely go back!

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great family vacation!

Traveled March 25 - April 2, 2017 with my 14 year old son. It is a beautiful resort. The staff are amazing, meals were fantastic and the beach is unbelievable. I can't wait to return with the rest of our family!

Melia Marina Varadero: Enjoyable visit !

Recently visited this resort, this was my 5th trip to Varadero and all my stays have been at Melia Marina. This visit was just as enjoyable as most. My only negative would be the service in the buffet restaurant, have had great service in the past but noticed none of the servers were there anymore. Had trouble getting drinks, breakfast you are able to get juice on your own but lunch and dinner I would be finishing my meal before being asked if I would like a drink. Resort very clean and staff v [... read more]ery friendly. Lobby bar staff exceptional as always , never an issue getting a cocktail or beer. Beach area is small but no issues with service. Rooms are very nice and fridge refilled daily.Made a visit to the spa for a massage and dip in the pool always very relaxing. Food was standard for Cuba and I wish more seafood options were available. I still am a fan of Melia Marina.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Very Nice Resort

I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up (arrived after dark) to a beautiful ocean view. The desk clerk was very friendly and we got to our room with no stress.. The room was nice and clean and the air conditioning was great. I wasn't in the main building and was very happy about this because there are renovations going on and it was very busy. Melia Varadero: Amazing vacation

The hotel was very nice and was in a clean state at all times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Booking restaurants and things in the hotel should be a bit easier but other than that it was fantastic!

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing resort

Staff were very friendly&steady to help when needed.The resort was very clean.Rooms were big& very clean.The food was great&a lots of variety.The weather was great .What more could you ask for.?The rest is up to you to enjoy your holiday.....& yes I would recommend this resort to any of my friends .....

Melia Varadero: TOO BIG FOR ME

There has never a time I've been to Cuba where the people of the island don't helped to create an incredible experience and holiday. This resort for me to was too large, the buffet restaurant food was very below par. They could really do with a decent chef. The environment is extremely noisy because of the low ceiling in the buffet restaurant. The Japanese restaurant served up frozen coined carrots. The beach was amazing.
