Playa Pesquero: Something for everyone
This was by far the best resort we have been to in Cuba. The pros for Cuba are always: - the people - the music - the beaches - the weather - the affordability The cons are traditionally: - rooms - food So this resort was tops on so many levels In addition to the standard pros: - the ability to snorkel right off the beach - a large pool that segregates party crowd from laid-back crowd - no shortage of beach or pool loungers and friendly staff to assist - a reasonable commute t [... read more]

Starfish Cayo Largo: Great beaches but sad resort
I could not really tell who rand this resort..key fob said Ibeorstar the sign said Grand Caribe and some things had Sol on them. Who ever has the management of this one needs help. We were there for two weeks and had no white wine for most of it. No beer a lot of the time. This is the first time we have been asked to pay for the safety deposit box. The draws in or closet were eaten by ants so that only the top drawer worked. The celling in the bathroom was collapsing. I do not go to Cuba with grea [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Holguin: Modern clean Room/Resort on fabulous Pesquero Beach
Iberostar Review We enjoyed our 2 week stay here, hands down! Front desk check-in and greeting was very friendly, professional and fast. Assigned room was so comfortable and modern with wifi service, charging station, and a spectacular ocean view! Â An additional screened patio door made it perfect for us to enjoy the ocean breeze anytime! Housekeeper Yanelis, kept our room immaculate with all amenities supplied. Accommodations Director Nestor was always present, very personable, and help [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Good 5-star-ish Resort
Our 4th time in Cuban resorts Excellent place for families with children. Very friendly staff, excellent reception desk. Great layout of the grounds. Everything is close (except sports), incl. gym and medical clinic. No other hotel can match the views from their main cafeteria and snack bars. Washrooms very close (even to the beach) and very clean. Service + BBq on the beach: impeccable Beach: excellent, protected from the big waves, unlike other places in Varadero. Plenty of spaces, no need [... read more]
Playa Vista Azul: wonderful experience at Oceans Vista Azul
Our second trip to the resort provided an even better experience than the first. We upgraded to privilege package which allowed us to stay in a separate area with its own pool, restaurant, bar areas as well as customer service area to handle all of our needs. The 8 month old facility was spectacular with everything you could want in a suite. Having a patio overlooking the pool became our breakfast go to place each morning. A quieter area than the main pool much better suited for the folks that [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great Resort - Second time!
Laguna Azul is a great resort. We were there for a second time March 2020 and last year April 2019. Been too many resorts in Cuba and Dominican. We found this resort a perfect size. Lots of beach/pool chairs. Never had to save chairs either time we went. Buffet is good for Cuba food. Very clean resort. Friendly staff. Looking forward to returning next year. They do offer VIP for I believe an extra $10.00 a day per person - looked into it and don't think its worth it. Does not offer th [... read more]

Valentin Perla Blanca: Good resort
Service was not good , no soap and no toilet paper in washrooms. Telephone not working in room , would not be able to call in emergency. Room nice and clean. Took four days to get a working coffee machine. In the morning coffee cold most of the time. Excellent beach and pool. Food average. For non alcoholic guest not soft drink available most of the time.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful but tired resort
We love this resort and have visited many times, last in 2017 on the regular side and 2015 on the Royal side which was fantastic. But sadly this time on the Royal side the rooms are showing wear and need some refreshing and the food was not great. Much of this is due to US trade embargoes against Cuba that make it very difficult to get supplies in. They are trying very hard to make the best of what they have but there was no wine at various times, no champagne and orange juice, and no chicken. P [... read more]
Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Worst resort
This was my 5th time to Cayo Santa Maria and by far this was the worst resort. It is an old resort and there are so many issues related with maintenance and service. The staff and entertainment team are very nice and friendly but they have very limited resources and the place requires a total facelift.
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort
Everything was very fine except the food. No variety of choice or themes. Service was fine, cleanliness as well. Nightly shows fun. The beach was gorgeous even though we couldn't swim in it for the first couple of days due to the wind
Melia Varadero: Enjoyable holiday
We stayed on The Level and we think that the extra cost was well worth it. The beach seems to be eroding at an alarming rate, but we enjoyed playing in the surf. The food was pretty good, considering the challenges that Cuba faces, and by staying on The Level you could have lunch at the Tex-Mex restaurant which helped to break up the monotony of the buffet. You could also book as many a la cartes as you liked, which was nice, and wine was available at all the bars throughout the day (as oppos [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Unbelievable resort!
White sands and crystal blue beaches as far as the eye can see.....the resort staff were all fantastic, very friendly and always helpful. The grounds are kept in immaculate condition, as are the beaches. We had no issues with hot water, ac, power or bugs although in some spots there are a few (mostly bushes). There are snack bar/restaurants at the beach and poolside that serve great lunches, as well as cigar bar, cigar shop, cappuccino/latte/coffee maker, fully stocked bar. I came in with hi [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: A bit rough, but everything you need for a week in the sun
Good value for your money resort. Rooms are clean, food is good if you stick to the options at the buffet you like. A la cartes not worth the time lining up. Some sprucing up is definitely need though. Lobby bar entertainment was usually better than theater shows. Overall would go back for a cheap week away in the sun.
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort!
The people who work at this resort are amazing! They go out of their way to give you the best vacation ever. It’s an older resort but very clean and well taken care of. Entertainment was fabulous. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great family vacation.
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort
This was our second year at this resort. The rooms were cleaned, staff very friendly and willing to help of you needed it. The food was great, the beach was fantastic. Entertainment staff did an outstanding job in all evening performances and daytime entertainment as well. There was one person in particular that made our vacation so much better, from getting us taxis to where we wanted to go, make reservations for a la cartes, and even a restaurant off the resort. She even helped us change rooms [... read more]
