Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Loved it

Ambar was excellent. Nice hotel, nice people , stellar beach, good pools. Was great to have ability to go to all properties. Food was ok...some a la carte restaurants better than others. Our first time in DR; we will definitely go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nice resort not great service

My wife and I went on out honeymoon to what we thought was a 4 star resort , we paid for the don Pablo services and for the entire week didn't get anything as Promised on the paper . We were not impressed, resort was nice service was terrible

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Bahia Principe Ambar, Punta Cana

Somewhat disappointed with this resort. While we thought it would be smaller, it is actually attached to two other resorts and so it is enormous, requiring the use of a small train service to get around. The two additional excursions we took were the worst we have ever taken (deep sea fishing; visit to cave/local house/cigar making). The Air Transat rep at the resort was late for the meeting and rushed through the excursions. He was never around after that. There is basically not much to do in this area....just the beach, pools etc. so can't say we saw much of anything of the island. Air conditioning is also somewhat lacking....e.g. in the hotel lobby so it was difficult to sit there in the evening to have a drink or listen to music. Most of the night life was at the other (attached) resort. Seemed like too much of an effort to go there via the trams.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: EXCELLENT!

Stayed at Coba July 28 - August 4 in building 18 A. We loved it. Grounds are well maintained, the buffet was great, although I stayed away from the meat section so I can't speak for that part of the buffet. The staff were very nice and thank you to Maribel, Omar and Victor in the buffet. They were very nice and did a great job looking after us. Also thanks to Loyda who looked after our room. They had lots of events during the day and entertainment in the evening to keep people busy. The room we had was very large and clean and it suited us just fine. Down side... the resort is huge and most people took the carts that run around on a regular basis to go where they wanted but it is a bit of a pain. It was also very humid and it made taking tours outside umcomfortable. The AC does not cool the room right down but it is good enough to get a good nights sleep. Also the DJ in the night club was not interested in requests and seemed very moody. I guess he is just a typical DJ, they are going to play what THEY think you like. We only requsted one song and that took until the next day to play it. In his defence most people by that time have consumed a considerable amount of alcohol. Also a warning not to feed the animals. They seem very passive but one little girl hand fed one and didn't give up the food fast enough and it scratched her up pretty good. Word of advise...you tip at home and no different here. Service is always better if you tip. Over all a great time and would return.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: BAHIA PRINCIPE LUXURY RUNAWAY JAMAICA

BUS quit at the front gate,,staff came a running..but from then on this resort was great..the staff at the beach restaurant was the best..the chicken of my god , food was never that good at any kitchen..this was our second visit and the staff were at our call..again the manager and staff at the beach restaurant ,,,wow they have fun making the job done right..you got to go see for your self.....well worth the money..

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort and exceeded expectations

Everything was great. Went with family (daughter and husband, grand kids, husband,s parents and brother). Able to choose all facilities at 3 separate resorts. We stayed at the Coba. Food was great. Staff we're very friendly and helpfull. Will definetly go again

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Exellent resort, activities need fine tuning

The resort was beautiful, beach 7 pools were wonderful, enough beach lounges, food spectacular, a la cart & buffets, drinks available amazing, staff warm, welcoming & helpful. Rooms were excellent. The activities need some improvement for me to give it 5 stars. The sailing was good, but sails & boats need to be kept in better repair.. Bicycles also not well maintained. One tennis court is not enough for the whole resort, hard court would be better than cement. Archery we would have done if it ha [... read more]d been available for more than 1 hour a day. We did not use the water park(not interested), or the mini golf, too hot out on the open, no shade. Pool side dance lessons never seemed to happen, even with asking, so we gave up. Pool aerobics was very good. Evening entertainment was great!!! We are active people, and there is only so much lying at the beach & pool, before we get restless. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Never go back

Place as too large. infested by mosquitoes. Maid staff kept the doors to your rooms open letting bugs in and not spraying after. You had to take a tram to the beach. The clinic was good. Dr on site. But wouldn't speak to you until there was an assurance the cash would be there first.. Understandable... We are not going back

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice Place

Rooms are big and clean. The grounds are big and vary clean also. Food was good. To many people and under staffed. The beach was ok. But not enough beach/pool chairs. Too big of a resort for me. I love Cancun/Mayan Riviera because they have alot of great excursions. Lots to see and do.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wobderful and Relaxing

This was our third trip to the Gran Bahia Sian Ka"an .We wre there fron June 14th to June 21st to celebrate my 60 th Birthday.From the time we arrived until the time we left the Staff and management were amazing.This time we stayed in the Penthouse suite ,beautiful big room with a roof top Hot tub,loungers and table and chairs, very relaxing.Food was always plentuful and delicious at the buffet and the A la Cart restaurants were exceptional except we found that the Mexican Restaurants food was b [... read more]land and very little choice.But what a view!If you get to the Sian Ka'a beach you will be delighted with the fantastic service Martha provides ,she made our stay so much fun.One thing we did notice this time was that the air conditiong wasn't working well at most of the la Cart restaurants .Maybe it was just the time of year.We are looking forward to coming back in the near future with some friends to enjoy the beautiful peace of paradise.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Incredible resort

Clean, spacious, friendly and fun. We enjoyed the quality of food and the impeccable service from the staff. We felt our children were safe and well taken care of with activities and made to feel important. We are planning another stay this March break at the same resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: was OK

We LOVE Mexico. This resort was toooo European for us. Too white, no color. We much prefer the atmosphere of Tulum, Coba etc. It was very clean and the pools were beautiful. The language barrier was terrible. My husband forgot his $700 RX sunglasses on the breakfast table one morning. We KNEW that's where they were left. We went back to get them but no one knew where they were. We know that one of the staff HAD to have taken them because no guest would sit down at a table with someone else's bel [... read more]ongings there. The Trolly service to the other resorts was wonderful. But we would not stay at the resort again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Did not meet expectations

Despite being an "older" Principe hotel did not expect this.No proper mattress cover saw dirty/dingy mattress through sheet waited 2hrs 1st night. Drunk,foul mouthed students all over complex.Pool staff unprofessional with comments. At least wheather was nice!!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: great resort

The grounds are very well kept as are the pools and beach areas. The buffet food is excellent although the a la cartes are hit or miss. The rooms are just ok; we had a white bedspread in our room and when the sun shines in you can see all the stains on them. I would not recommend a first floor room and if you have a problem the language barrier makes it difficult to communicate any issues. It is a very large resort so you have to take a tram to and from everywhere or walk a lot. Overall a great  [... read more]resort; we have stayed twice. The only thing to add is you have to be up around 6:00 am if you want to get a pool or beach chair as they allow people to hog chairs.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: First Family Vacation South

This was our first family vacation south and it definitely will not be our last. Everything was fantastic from the moment we stepped off the plane. The people at the resort were so warm and welcoming, always smiling, always happy. Our room was 1270 (Royal Golden) and we were located steps from the main beach pool and the beach itself. The room was very spacious and our balcony overlooked the pool area and beach. The beach was beautiful and the main pool was always hopping with both kids and adults. So relaxing to just go and lay by the poolside and not have to think about a thing. Service and drinks were always on the go by the pool and the drinks were delicious. The food was never ending at the main buffet. From breakfast to dinner and beyond there was always something available. The desserts were to die for and service always came with a smile. In the evenings we would wander to the main bar in the lobby for drinks and some conversation. Met a lot of great people there from Colorado to New York to here at home in Canada. Every evening there was a show being preformed and the Michael Jackson one rocked them all. Overall had a fantastic experience!! Since we had no set expectations before we left for vacation we arrived with an open mind and let everything soak in for us and it was an adventure like no other.

Dont read another review this is all u need to read. beach -great rooms -great staff -great food simply the best. Treat yourself to a great resort and get rid of the kids, adult only is the way to go .

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort

Travelled with a group to this resort April 2014 for our wedding. The resort is massive but our agent from trip central made sure we all had rooms located very close together. The wedding coordinator was great! The amount of things that are included in the free wedding package was defiantly a bonus. There is a very nice water park, our daughter is two and she enjoyed it, would be a good spot for kids up to about age 10! Food was amazing, nobody in our group went hungry.. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good Resort

We requested an adjoining room next to our parents, we didn't get it. The A/C on our floor broke down and wasn't fixed until our last day. We were told we'd have wifi in our rooms and there wasn't. Not overly impressed

Hotel - To big to get around. 15 min walk from room to buffet and 20 min walk to the beach or endless wait for the "golf carts" to come by and take you to the desired destination. The rooms were all mouldy - I have asked to be moved and after several days of explaining that I have a medical condition and can not sleep in the room that reeks of mould I have been offered other rooms that was intended for handicapped individuals (also reeked of mould). After returning to Canada and several washes m [... read more]y clothes still smells of mould. Staff and travel guides - Not friendly and not helpful when asked questions. Travel guides were giving us wrong informations about tourist attractions as well as prices for the same. There we a lot of rude and pushy sales people in the hotel constantly harassing us to buy time shares after repeatedly saying we were not interested. Beach - Biggest disappointment of all. I have asked the travel consultant specifically about the beach when he recommended Mexico vs. Cuba and this hotel in particular as he mention that he came to it several times. Beach was on top of my list! It was small, rocky full of sandbags with almost to room to swim. Overall I would not go back nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. I have a lot of friend that travel south several time as year and I have advised them to avoid this one like a plague.
