Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Almost perfect!

The grounds, beach and staff were wonderful. The food and drinks were really good. The only downfall, our room, which they were nice enough to upgrade us, was not totally completed. Here was supposed to be a Murphy bed (there was not), missing covers on the light switches, no mirror in the half bath, and shower not totally finished off. The staff were super friendly. We found them to try their best to make everyone happy. Again, not a big deal, we ate at the Mexican restaurant and the Italian..both were really good!). The beach was nice, just watch out for the burrs..they hurt! Overall, the resort, when finished, might be perfect!

Grand Oasis Cancun: So so!

The check in line up was HUGE. We had arrived at 11 pm after a 5 hour delayed flight and didn’t get to our room until 12 am. We were told that there is only one restaurant open after 12 am which was 2 miles away from our room. In addition, we had to ask around and wait for a bell man to take our luggage to the room. We were told that wifi would be complimentary prior to arrival. When we got there we were told it was not. Such a shame. Other than that, food was good at Dos Lunas and the oasis  [... read more]beach club was the highlight of the resort. Bar closes at 1 am at night which was quite lame but we ended up going to Coco Bongo so that worked out.

Grand Oasis Palm: Excellent resort!

Fantastic service in all departments; top-notch gourmet food and beverages; Adults only; great beach; tastefully renovated premises; satisfactory tennis court; etc. My only complaint, and it is a major one, is absolute lack of acceptable entertainment; and the little of it there was, came with horrible sound system; lousy performers and a totally incompetent DJ, who was either deaf or totally amature for the job. "Turn the volume to MAX" must have been the only thing he learned in music school! [... read more]!! In fairness though, the only positive in the entertainment category over our 10-day stay was the externally-sourced Circus night, which we enjoyed very much.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice Resort

We were at this resort for 9 days to Jan 4, 2020. It is adults only and the operators did a good job of catering to the crowd. Food is good and lots of live entertainment each evening. We do not hesitate to recommend this one.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great Family Vacation

We were a group of 20 over New Years so varying in age from 1 to 71. There was something for everyone. The resort was large but the shuttle service was great too. The beach was rocky on the White Sands side so we used the pools quite often, especially with the little ones. We hit the Colonial beach a couple times, the water was beautiful! The bus ride was long, approx 1.5 hrs.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Nice Resort

Nice resort, booked because of the "stay at 1, play at 3". We were a group of 20 over New Years so varying in age from 1 to 71. There was something for everyone. The resort was large and we did lots of walking but in a good way!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great resort !

Visited the Barcelo Maya Caribe resort on December 21st to January 4, 2020. This resorts gives you access to 3 other resorts the Maya Beach, Colonial and Tropical. This resorts is huge, it has many a la carte restaurants, Japanese, Spanish, Seafood, Steak etc..The 24 hrs sports bar called Strikers is very nice, lots of large TVs and big screen and has 24 hrs snacks like hot dogs, hamburgers, fries , wings and cheese sticks. The buffet was also very good, lots of selection and drink were self se [... read more]rve like beer draft, coffee machines, mimosa. The room was basic but ok and nothing fancy. The only thing that is really bad is the check in which took 1 hour and I was the first in line. The grounds are well maintained, the pool are all great, there is even a lap pool which was nice and also a small Adults only which was very nice to get away from the kids. The beach was ok but you need water shoes there is some areas where there are less rocks. There is plenty to do like bowling, mini golf, surf rider, zip lining etc at an additional cost. You can get discount on the bowling from 10 am to 1 PM which is 2 for 1. The mini golf is free till 7 PM. There is free Wifi at the mall from 10 am to 5:30 PM. The service was ok.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Small but super friendly Resort!

This is my second time at this resort and we really like it. It is a smaller resort but everyone is friendly. It is very clean and beautiful. The beach is a little rough with rocks at the time of year we went. (Dec 28 - Jan 4). The A La Carte's are amazing and the buffet food is good as well.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Bittersweet resort

It’s a relaxing resort to go to if you like to spend time on the beach. Very calm vibes. Not a lot going on at the resort. After the 3rd day you get bored if you only want to spend time in the resort only. The food isn’t the best. I highly recommend going right when the buffet opens. We ended up going out to eat on the strip and to Riu Cancun. The last few days my eye got infected from the sheets. I woke up to itchy puffy eyes. I asked one of the cleaners to change my sheets. They didn’t  [... read more]bother changing it. It was really hard to communicate with some of the staff. We tried to make the best out of it. Some days we went to Riu Cancun to have enjoy the vibes there.

Riu Yucatan: Disappointed

Upon arrival to the Riu Yucatan we were told there was no staff to assist with luggage. We had 2 rooms for our family of 6 on the second level. There are no elevators so we had to carry the suitcases up the stairs. We expect more from a 5 star resort. The fridge in one of our rooms did not work. We tried using the phone in our room many times to inform staff but no one answered calls. We told staff throughout the week but it was never fixed. So the fridge was filled with all inclusive beve [... read more]rages but we never drank the warm beer and sodas. The liquid soap in the shower was only partially full. It ran out after a couple of days and was never refilled. Tried calling to have it refilled but no one answered. The air conditioning was extremely loud and set to a very cold setting in both rooms. We could not adjust it. Again, tried to call for someone to adjust it but no one answered. Throughout the night we would alternate opening the patio doors to warm the rooms up and closing them to cool the rooms back up. We booked one night at the Mexican restaurant. It was a disaster. There are 2 seatings. We were only able to get the late seating. We have 4 kids and yet were the last table served. By the time we received our main course, other parties were already done their desserts and had left. Our kids became very grumpy, they were tired. We ended up cancelling our dessert order because it was so late. We ate one night at the Italian restaurant. The menu was very limited and the portions were small. We all preferred the buffets. The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful. The pools were great. The staff at the buffets and bars were friendly and helpful. The buffet food was very good. Unfortunately 5 out of the 6 family members got diarrhea. We suspect it was due to exposure to the water .... brushing teeth? Ice cubes? On our final day, the kids and I had cleared out of our rooms by 11:30 and waited in the lobby for my husband. He had a tough time leaving the room due to the diarrhea. When we got to the front desk to check out we were told that we had to pay an additional hour for each room for being late. My husband and I travel regularly with work and stay at 5 star hotels across North America. We have never physically had to check out, an electronic bill is always sent. I realize now that going to the desk is a procedure to have wrist bands cut off at all inclusive resorts. As first timers however, I would expect some leniency. And I would expect the front desk staff to be very clear upon check in of the late charge policies. For customer satisfaction, a charge for one late room charge instead of two, especially considering the one room was empty before check out time, would have been reasonable. The front desk staff member was very stern and dismissive about our situation. Very unfriendly. A very disappointing way to end our weeks stay. Our shuttle was not picking us up till 6pm so we asked if there was luggage storage. There was. Of course we had to take it to the room ourselves. The room was an unlocked room down a low traffic hallway. No lock on the door. Anyone could walk in and out of the room. A courtesy room was available to shower and change but closed at 3pm. Again, our shuttle was at 6pm. So we did not use the courtesy room. We loved México, really enjoyed our excursions off site. Sunwing staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Cancun airport was effortless. We will definitely return to Mexico but will not be returning to the Riu Yucatan.

Temptation Resort & Spa: awesome vacation,

The rooms clean and tidy, bathrooms clean and spacious, pool amazing, restaurants and buffet provided excellent service and good food, (New years Dinner 150US$) a bit disappointing, Moet Champagne was great, staff was amazing. will go back. topless option was really cool.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Loved it. :)

Perfect beach lined with palm trees. Beautiful property. Great food every night. Even the nightly shows were way above expectations! 10 days was not enough of a stay... and I would definitely recommend the resort to others and will make a return trip in the future.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun: Awesome

Nicest place I've stayed. 9/10 Only complaints lack of beverage refills in room, lack of drink service to beach earlier in day. Everything was clean. Nice rooms. Amazing bed. The paint jobs in rooms bit sloppy for being "luxury". Everything could use improvements but overall amazing staff, food and grounds. Few small things could be tweaked but great stay for the value.

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun: Mixed Reviews

Hotel and hotel grounds are stunning. Grounds are extensive. Be prepared to walk a lot although there are shuttles around just not always when you need them. Golf Courses are just awesome yet Starters could use some training from North American courses on how to run three - 9 hole courses efficiently. You never knew where you were going to play and some were jammed up while other courses nobody on them. Rooms are standard nothing over the top. Shower Water could never regulate, too col [... read more]d or scalding. No in-between One Sink in bathroom constantly clogged. Two double beds are small if sharing with another adult. Extremely cozy. Ordered pillows and they dropped off with no pillowcases. Level of care in room and attention to detail dropped off as week went on. No new towels on last full day. Restaurants - BEWARE The Grand at Moon Palace has a multitude of a la carte restaurants that you can't get reservations in to save your life. They recommend using their app to make reservations for the next day or two at a time but not once was I successful in doing that. When calling, they advised that you have to call at 10am the following morning to make reservations for that day or the next. When you did that they would offer you 5pm (and then promptly lose the reservation) and or 9-9:30pm. It would seem that if you were a big group or a Diamond Member that you would get priority reservations already planned and booked well in advance. Otherwise, they almost would force you to go to the Buffet or to a restaurant that didn't take reservations. Upon arrival at restaurants that didn't take reservations, you would be told the wait was approximately one hour. You would come back at the allotted time and there still would be no tables. Waited two to two and a half hours at these restaurants on numerous nights. Once I got seated at Jade, no one visited the table for over 20 minutes. When I reached out to someone and forced them to take our order, she complained how busy they were although at that point it was 9:30 pm and the restaurant was emptying out. Took over another 45 minutes to get food and she kept telling us it was coming. Finally had to complain to a manager and then miraculously all this food just started appearing on our table. Even food we didn't order. Think at that point they just wanted us to be quite. Very poor service. Or you would get a reservation at 5pm and be told it was the last reservation and they squeezed you in and when you get to the restaurant it is not even open yet and you eat your whole meal with four other tables otherwise the restaurant being fully empty. They really need to do a full SWAT analysis of this process as it ruined the whole eating part of our trip. Beach - very limited loungers and no one to help find one. they usually a very small portion of the beach they have. What wasted space as it is beautiful and meticulously maintained. Pools - lots of pool but hard to find lounge chairs and most pools seemed overrun by floaties....massive unicorn and pizza's etc. For the amount paid, not worth it.

Riu Flamingos: Relaxing Vacation

The weather was beautiful everyday. The sunwing flight was delayed both ways of the trip. The resort had amazing and friendly staff all over. It was clean everywhere except for some cigarette butts on the beach. Fitness room was well equipped but the hot tub was closed the whole time. Overall good experience.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Awesome Resort!

Beautiful resort with well planned and landscaped pathways right down to the speakers disguised as rocks. Hotel buildings were only three stories high and hidden from view by lush, natural landscaping. The beach area was long with many loungers and the best bartenders around; the next pina colada was only moments away. Guest rooms were spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a new treat each evening. The bathrooms were also large and clean. We especially LOVED the Imperial Band and they are actually the reason we decided to spend New Year's at this resort. I have been at this resort twice and would highly recommend it to all my friends

Grand Sunset Princess: Large, busy resort

This resort was exactly as advertised. Good food, friendly staff, lots of wildlife (monkeys, Coatis, Iguanas. Pelicans etc.) Expect to do a lot of walking since it is about 900 metres from the Restaurants to the beach. Golf cart transportation is available.

Riu Emerald Bay: Exceellent

Can't say enough good things about this amazing resort. The weather was windy and raining but the staff made the best of it with games and 'little'shows. The food was good, New Years Eve dinner was beyond reproach and the champagne just kept on flowing!!

Dreams Huatulco: Best all-inclusive Vacation!

Although this Dreams property is getting a little dated, it is super clean, the staff works 100%, and are very friendly, efficient and helpful. Drinks were great tasting as well as the food. The best part were the 3 infinity pools overlooking the gorgeous beach!! Water was a clear emerald colour, golden sand and minimal waves. The water activities were great, spa was sublime, and the overall experience was fantastic. We felt safe, and found the location to be perfect. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Very Disappointing

I will never go back to the Royalton Rivera Cancun Hideway ! The staff in the hotel is not friendly or helpful! The cleaning staff is very nice and the rooms are very clean and the property! They staff in the Royalton only cares about selling you shares for you to return to the diamond club and only if you stay in the diamond club you get exceptional service other wise no one cares about your needs or complaints!
