Riu Palace Macao: Fabulous Resort

Riu Palace Macao has a very high standard when it comes to customers service and care. The resort staffs always work hard to offer vacationers unforgettable memories from grounds, rooms, swimming pool, pool's activities, delicacies to entertainment. This is my first visit at Riu Palace Macao (August 13 - August 20, 2017), and I really impressed with the resort's staffs behavior and service. However, I will give Riu Palace Macao a 5-star resort overall.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Family get away

So first and foremost the staff was quite friendly and kind. Food was great, something for everyone. However the H10 representatives are constantly hustling you to attend meetings, which we did not want to attend but were guilted into attending. Waste of our time. The only other disappointment was the beach. Apparently vast amounts of seaweed is a common problem now. The beach looked awful and smelt terrible. They had a tractor that tried to clean it up daily, but this along with a helico [... read more]pter that would fly by every 45 minutes, did not make for a restful beach experience. They were also the only beach to have 10 very large "whale" looking humps in the water. They were apparently filled with sand in an attempt to prevent the seaweed from going on the beach????? My husband preferred the pool, which was well maintained and beautiful. However whether you choose the pool or the beach, you must wake early enough to play the towel/umbrella game! My first trip to Punta Cana, not sure that I would go back to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Big resort with lots to do

I traveled alone with my 5 & 7 yr olds. They loved the waterpark and pools. The "kid friendly" night shows were fun, but a bit late, so after a day in the sun, the kids were really tired. The food was decent, but hard to find really "healthy" options. The resort is really big, so even though there are some shuttles, the kids complained about having to walk so far to everything when it was so hot (traveled in August). The shallow part of the water is full of seaweed, so the kids didn't enjoy the ocean and preferred the pool. Service was hit and miss. Some staff were amazing, others seemed to dislike English speaking people, so they would serve other people first. The rooms were good, but some wear and tear. They are on top of maintenance though if you have an issue. The beds were comfy and room spacious. Pool/beach towel service seemed to always be out of towels which was frustrating. Seemed to have enough beach/pool chairs in the shade to go around. The kids club was good, but kids had to be there at either 10am or 2pm to do activities outside of the center. It was far from Turquesa, so without a direct shuttle, it meant a lot of walking to get there. You also can't leave them over lunch, so you have to get them, take them to the buffet (which isn't close) and bring them back which lead to cranky kids.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great hotel: clean & modern with friendly staff

Stayed 7 days in double occupency room on second floor. Room is big and well designed. Although the website states that there are 10 restaurants, there are only 5 (other ones are at sister hotel and you only have access after 6 pm). The buffet is the best: it has variety, quality and tasty food. The ice cream parlour only has 4 ice cream flavours (same one everyday). The Coco Cafe offers nice pastries. The concierges are helpful (Geison is fantastic) and the staff every where on site is friendly [... read more]. The gym is great as it offers a nice selection of work out equipment. Don't buy excursions with hotel reps as you can get better prices (and deal them down) with reps on the beach. Get your own taxis outside hotel (way cheaper).

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Brand new resort, clean & modern

Stayed 7 days in king size bed swim up room. Was worthy to pay a little extra to have the swim up. No stairs to get to room. Rooms are spacious: nice bathroom & comfortable bed. The hotel is very clean and the staff is super friendly & helpful. Best food is at the International Cafe (buffet), the Spice (Asian) and the Italian restaurants are not good. Nice gym to work out (open 24 hrs) and nice tennis courts. Drinks are good and the beach is nice although there are better beaches (Bavaro & Macao [... read more]). The landscape (gardens) is beautiful and the lay out gives easy access to every area of the hotel. Area outside hotel is very safe and Dominicans & Haitians are nice and friendly. Excursions and transportation offered by the hotel are over priced; buy your excursions with the beach reps (Valentino & Ulysse) and don't be afraid of using taxis from the plaza outside hotel. You can deal down their prices and unlike what the hotel reps say, it is safe to do business with them. The Spa services are ridiculously over priced (even with the 50% off coupons they give you). Get them at home instead.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Overall A Great Resort

The resort is small, however the complex is huge. You can stay in your resort all week, however if you book certain restaurants, or you like to go to the Casino, or visit the shopping area you need to take the resort bus. The resort is clean and really well taken care of. The pools are nice, however if you want a good lounger at the pool you need to wake up really early to reserve your spot. If you want a pool cabana you need to wake up even earlier. Here is a small tip, some people will leave t [... read more]heir towels on loungers all night so if you go down early in the morning and find towels on loungers check if they are soaked. If they are just remove them and put your towel there. There are signs all over the resort that reserving chairs is strictly prohibited so leaving towels on a lounger overnight is someones stupidity and your ultimate gain. The beach is OK. Very busy, however you will always find a lounger. If you want a lounger that is closer to the beach however the same reservation rules apply. Wake up early and reserve. The water at the beach is not great. It gets deep really quickly and the water is full of weeds. If you think you are getting a beach like in Cuba or Jamaica you're out of luck. The food is amazing especially at the a la carte restaurants. Putting on a few pounds is defiantly easily accomplished at this place. The rooms are nice as well. Very spacious and clean. Overall its a very nice resort and you won't be disappointed, however if you enjoy a quiet vacation with minimal noise and interruptions this is not the resort for you.

The Level at Melia Caribe: Love this resort

This was the third year in row that we have vacationed at the Melia Caribe (Level Adults Only Section) and we are planning on going back again next year. This resort is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the adult only pool is large and you never fight for seating around the pool or shade huts. Staff is extremely courteous and very friendly. The cannot do enough for you. Reason we like this resort so much is even though it is a huge resort transportation within the resort is never a p [... read more]roblem. Trains run frequently for all in the resort but if you are at the Level you can take the golf carts anywhere and there are plenty of them around so waiting it not an issue. Another reason this resort is great is that you don't need towel cards, you take as many towels as you want as many times as you want. Most Al A Carte restaurants do not require reservations its first come first served so you are not constantly on a schedule. Rooms are clean, the Level suites are close to the pool and beach and the beds are comfortable.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Ok resort!

Hotel was nice, I'm a food guy and food here was not up to par... complex is huge and takes forever to get anywhere! Beach was not the best, tons of seaweed all over the beach!! Services was ok Just my opinion

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Truly 5 Star

This resort was truling fantastic. From the management to the service of the employees toall the amenaties. The rooms were simply beautiful, the beds were comfortable and the pillow menu was perfect. My wife, daughter and really loved being here and felt really welcomed by the staff. The srevice in the restaurants was first class and the food always delicious. The buffet had a different theme every night. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful resort

The resort itself was beautiful and there was always something happening to keep us entertained. Only complains are that the service was at times slow, and uncaring. Was unhappy about the amount of seaweed on the beach, made it difficult to go into the water. Especially since Punta Cana was supposed to have the nicest beaches.

Riu Republica: It was great

the hotel is new and fairly clean although some things dont work so well, including the key to open the door... everybody was going back to reception when we arrived because it did not work - and we were a large group of over 30 people! the beach is amazing and so is the food. it's more of a party place than we thought and we were woken up every single night with people screaming in corridors and breaking glass. they do a good job of cleaning things up and keeping it as clean as possible, but t [... read more]hat was not a nice experience. the gym was nice but small and always packed - considering the type of people who attend "party" hotels, it would have been nice if it would have been a bit bigger. the 4 pools were amazing and needed and ranged from a party pool to a quieter pool with local music - which is where we hanged out when not at the beach. no problems with towels, we often changed them more than once a day. i know the hotel cant do anything about it, but the weather was also amazing! it was a great stay but we probably will not be back - too big and noisy for us

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Resort amazing but service not good

We have been to this resort seven times and usually everything has been wonderful. The resort itself is amazing, the people friendly. The grounds are kept very well.but we were disappointed this time with the service. Both in our rooms and in restaurants. Very slow service or room not kept up with towels etc.

Paradisus Punta Cana: it is just paradise

the staffs were genuinely friendly. they are always happy...................... beach was amazing............................... the food was great. ................. We had a lovely time.

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Resort

We were very pleased with our vacation at the Secrets Royal Beach resort. The resort was beautiful, the staff were friendly, courteous and were always there to ensure that you were enjoying your stay, and the food was very good. The restaurants allowed for a good variety, the quality and presentation was excellent, and the staff were attentive to special dietary needs. The buffet however was of average quality, and as such we recommend dining at the restaurants. Some of the restaurants were  [... read more]located within the Now Larimar section of the property, which although was only a short walk, is not an Adults Only resort. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well decorated. The balcony with the aqua tub was a wonderful feature. Some minor improvements such as wine and snacks in the mini bar and upgraded pillows would be a welcome addition. We must add that our agent, O'Neil, went the extra mile to contact the hotel to advise them that we were celebrating a birthday, and the hotel in turn provided us with a room having a beautiful view in a premium location close to the beach. This extra touch was much appreciated. The beach area was beautiful and well maintained, with excellent service. There were some areas where the seating was quite concentrated, however it was easy enough to find a space somewhat removed, and the beach area was never crowded. The pools were stunning, offering both entertainment/activity areas as well as quiet private areas. One problem was that the seating around the entertainment pool was limited and we would have to go very early to ensure that we had lounge chairs in an area that offered some shade. In many areas the seating was rather close to the pool, resulting in a narrow pathway for walking between the pool and the lounge chairs. There were a couple of days that we found that the pool itself was not very clean. The entertainment team was awesome and very energetic, however compared to other resorts that we have stayed at we found that the activities were somewhat limited. We also found that the night time entertainment was somewhat lacking in quality. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at the resort. Some small touches and improvements would help to make this a 5 star quality resort. On a scale of 1 to 10 we would rate the Secrets Royal Beach as an 8.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Awesome!!!

This was an amazing hotel from start to finish. The people here are great! Hard workers for sure! Service was fantastic! Best resort I have ever been to! Food was delicious and the drinks keep on coming. Great party atmosphere. Everyone here is here for a good time! Foam pool parties..beach parties...this place has it all! Special shout out to our man Rhomer.....waiter poolside...he took care of us the entire time and made it great week! Room service 24hours was also a plus! Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort

The location was great. Resort is large with 8 hotels. We stayed at the Esmeralda which is great because it's the closest to the beach if you have kids. The food was very good. The rooms were clean and provided everything we need. There was quite a bit of seaweed on the beach but they were always cleaning it. This depends on the rain and season. There is always cabanas for shade. I would definitely come back to this resort . 5 star for sure! Highly recommend.

Ocean Blue and Sand: An incredible experience for our family

This hotel was really great. The pool is huge with a well stocked swim-up bar, and they have good quality alcohol (brugal extra viejo anyone???). The buffet has excellent choices for all meals, and a la cartes don't require reservations except the japanese one. We ate at the American and Mexican restaurants and both were really good. The American restaurant had a huge menu. The a la cartes also have a kids menu which was handy. My kids went to the kids club a couple times and had fun. One night they had dinner with the kids club and they offered supervised kids' activities afterwards giving us a couple hours to ourselves. We saw one show and it was well done. Bowling was fun, and there are pool tables and foosball tables in the bowling alley as well as a bar. The beach was not the greatest I've seen in the DR...lots of seaweed and some weird plastic barrel things in the water. We basically stayed at the pool. We used the resort photographer who was amazing and we got lots of great photos. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back in the future.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Paradise!

This resort was everything we imagined and more. Service was always served with a smile. Rooms were always cleaned and fresh on a daily basis. Food was amazing with endless choices. Well done Bahia Resorts for the world class service. P&A.

Riu Republica: First time all inclusive and had the time of my life!

The Riu Republica was a beautiful resort with great food, amazing entertainment , the rooms where modern and clean. I loved the glass wall in the shower going into The bedroom. I went on this trip by myself and loved every minute. The spa was so relaxing with the steam room and cold and hot plunge pools. I loved the beach and you could walk for miles. Can't wait to go back. Ask for Armstrong at the bar and Isael in the buffet restaurant. Mariel in the spa gave me the best stress cure massage I' [... read more]ve ever had. I'll be going back soon!'

Riu Bambu: Awesome resort

Hotel was very clean and the employees are amazing. Food was good. Pool beach amazing. Water park fantastic. We had a wonderful time. Wish we could go back soon. Night life was great. So much to do with the family.
