Gran Muthu Imperial: Needs some improvement

What turned out to be my fiancé’s birthday , turned out to be a battle with front desk . The resort was beautiful with nice grounds , unfortunately our rooms fridge wasn’t stocked for days and we didn’t have room towels also and had to constantly fight with front staff to send some. The food also was repetitive with no flavour and almost everything was dry! Will not return after second visit . I also got food poisoning from the food so no thank you !

Hotel Tuxpan: Great resort for a cheap vacation

For the price we paid, our group was very happy with our stay here. It is Cuba, so we were already expecting the food to be not great but we certainly didnt go hungry, nor did we get sick (a first for us & we've been to several different places). The beach bar had amazing fresh fish which we enjoyed almost every day we were there. Beverages were good but availability of some were hit or miss, based on available ingredients. Rooms were ok...beds & pillows not as comfy as home but we were there to have fun in the sun, not sleep our vacation away. Bottled water seemed to be a precious commodity (1L bottle, not replenished daily) so once empty we ended up refilling it ourselves from pitchers available at the bars. Entertainment was good with games in the afternoon & nightly shows. We made our own fun most of the time & even played some baseball with staff who were delighted to do so! Speaking of staff, many thanks to Roberto (beach bar), Pablo(entertainment), Prinz?(DJ & baseball) Miguel (pool guy) and the many others who I've forgotten their names...we had a blast! Only issue we ladies had were the sand fleas/no seeums. Didn't bother the fellas but we came home with some very itchy bites! All in all, I'd gladly stay here again...just remember bug spray!

Be Live Turquesa: Disappointed

We have been in this resort some years back. We were quite happy then.. this time we were very disappointed. For any request or just casual service they are slow or simply they don’t do it. Obviously they don’t do anything unless you tip them. That’s very disturbing. We were not happy with the room service, not enough towel and toilet paper! The food was the worse since we went to many resorts in Cuba for 20 years.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great place

Everything was fantastic. The food was the best I’ve ever had in Cuba. My room was very clean and the staff was fantastic. I was only at the pools but they were amazing. I would go back to this resort again and again.

Memories Paraiso: Resort has gone to crap

This was my family’s 3rd time coming to memories paraiso and will be our last. This place has taken a turn for the worse completely in every single aspect, the staff has changed and lots are very rude and rather talk amongst themselves then actually work. Walking into our room some of the lights didn’t work and the toilet seat wasn’t secured to the toilet, the maid wouldnt change the bed sheets, they wouldn’t bring a pillow case for the extra bed. The worst part is they are just not maintaining this part of the resort like they are the grand and sanctuary and it just takes a quick 5 min walk around to see the difference in quality.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria

My wife and i spent our honeymoon here 16 years ago. We remember the resort being in better shape than it was. The staff are awesome, they try very hard to be helpful. We had a water leak in our room, the mattress we slept on was terrible, the resort ran out of rum, tia marie, chocolate liquoir, baileys and coke by midweek!! lucky we were not heavy drinkers, and the resort is getting to a point of needing a little TLC. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Breathtakingly Beautiful

This is our second time visiting this resort, this time we rented a Villa with an ocean view. Absolutely beautiful. We have travelled many places and always go back to this resort for our winter vacation. The people are friendly and always polite. There have been many upgrades this past year to the resort, many improvements. The beach here is the best we’ve been to. Expect us back next year!!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Mediocre at best

This is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. The food was absolutely terrible, even at the à la carte restaurants. For example, one restaurant served onion soup which was clear water with 5 pieces of white onion and half a melba toast floating on the top! The only good meals we had were off the the resort on the excursions. The maid was lazy, barely cleaning or restocking amenities. We had to chase her down to get more toilet paper. The "stocked mini bar" was a juice box, one bottle of water, a [... read more]nd two cans of beer that were never restocked. The resort cut corners everywhere possible - powdered pineapple juice, canned fruit, luncheon ham scored to look like a roast ham, etc. On the first day, the electricity and phone in our room did not work and there was a bad sewage smell coming from the shower. When we retuned from dinner, the ceiling was raining water from a blocked AC drainage hose. The hotel refused to move us and did nothing to correct the problems. We could not to get to the bathroom without walking through a huge pool of water. They did move us the next day, only because I was not taking no for an answer. They really did not care that we were upset and said there was nothing they could do for any compensation. The positives of this resort was the nice groomed beach with beautiful blue water, ample seating near the pools, and good coffee at the lobby bar.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: First Cuban Vacation

This was a very clean,fairly new hotel.The staff was very friendly and were always there to help or assist customers, there are only two issues that I had ..1)the food was repetitive and the hotel was located at least one hour minimum from a village or town..however where the food is concerned I believe Cuba can only make do with what they have...so I give them a B+ For trying...location is location...nothing u can do about that..my vacation was great..relaxing..both guests and staff were frien [... read more]dly..I'll definitely go back🙂🙂

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort!

The resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds were well kept, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the a-la-carte's were great, the buffet was also good plenty of selection to choice from. The pool was very large and clean, the beach was amazing especially the seeing all the fish. Catarman was awesome! I can't say enough about the staff they were spectacular. The entertainment shows were enjoyable.

Melia Costa Rey: Good Trip!

The hotel was very nice, the staff were great. There are some infrastructure issues as seems to be normal in Cuba- missing tiles in the pool area, showers for washing sand off not working, bad drain smell In room and outside sometimes...But having said that, even with these kind of issues and a cold front from the north, we had a good time. Very windy during our week sadly. Resort was very family friendly and felt very safe. I thought the buffet food was quite good but sadly, the a la Cartes we visited need work. Service was great but there was no appreciable difference In quality from the buffet and in some cases, it was worse. Enjoyed the little beach snack bar and had very good seafood paella there. The Cuban a la carte was ok, the seafood really not impressive and the Italian, my entree remained uneaten. The desk staff were very nice as were the bar staff and the lovely lobby bar coffee staff. Bell service for help with bags was helpful and prompt. Sunwing rep was on site every day and available. I would come back here again!

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great place for families!

We really enjoyed this hotel. We were impressed by the well-maintained grounds, the excellent entertainment staff, the cleanliness of the hotel rooms, the comfortable beds, and the excellent effort put into making the food as varied and enjoyable as possible. We loved how calm this resort was, as well as the daily schedule of activities for kids! Playa Pesquero: Home away from home

This place was amazing. The grounds were amazingly well taken care of. The staff remembered you each time seeing you and cracked jokes every chance they got. Sometimes seeing us not needing to take our order because they “knew” what we wanted from the day before. The hotel room was so inviting... best sleep ever. And never out of supplies. Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Lovely resort!

This was a lovely place for a winter get-away. Spectacular grounds, beautiful buildings, comfortable and well appointed bedrooms. The infinity pool was great, although could have been a bit deeper. Lovely beaches, one large, white sand. The other more private, smaller, a delight for anybody who looks for and finds this hide-away. The food was just fine, plain but just fine. Not a lot of excitement if that is what you are looking for this is not your place, but if you looking for quiet and relaxation this is it. Last but not least the Cubans at this resort were lovely people, helpful, pleasant, friendly. It is helpful if you have a few words and phrases of Spanish as not all of them speak a lot of English. I recommend this resort highly.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort - But

This was our fourth time at this resort and our suite and the staff were lovely as usual. Our one disappointment was the nightly entertainment in the bar. Once the music stopped the energy in the bar just dropped. The musicians only played for an hour and on our last night there was no entertainment in the bar. My recomendation to the resort is to have two hours of live entertainment every night and when they finish then use the speakers and music that they use around the pool area during th [... read more]e day to provide music in the bar area at night. I hope to hear that they implement this policy so that I will want to continue my yearly visit to this resort.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great pools

The beds are terrible. Some new mattresses would be great. A week on those beds is a killer. Pools and beach are beautiful. Food is typical Cuba. Always find something to eat but don't expect gourmet food.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Colonial Cayo Coco

This is our paradise, and we were very happy there... the accommodations were good, clean and a view of the ocean. Meals were Cuban... we never went hungry... do not expect elaborate meals because that is not how the Cubans eat...we had good buffets and a la carte meals. it was a windy week so the beach was not good to be on, waves were too strong and red flags were up. This is Cayo Coco’s oldest resort and it has a few issues but nothing that we couldn’t handle. Go and enjoy the weather and the ambiance of this amazing old Colonial Hotel...

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Awesome Resort

Staff were great resort very clean food was very good overall our stay was Great. 10 minute walk to the marina just outside the resort great place to visit lots of shops we felt very safe there. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: very good for the money

this was a great place clean and friendly room was very clean and comfordable food is what you expect all an all I would give it 8 out of10 tour to Havana was not worth the fee Canadian money is excepted at us rate of exchange

Gran Muthu Imperial: Very good resort

I thoroughly enjoyed the resort & all the entertainment provided. The only issues I had was the maid was not very thorough in her cleaning & checking whether the fridge or water were supplied when needed & had to be asked instead of taking it upon herself to check. There was a problem closing the bathroom door. It appeared to be off the track & couldn't be closed. We reported this at least three to four times & it was never repaired
