Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Huge Huge Resort

This hotel was absolutely Huge!! You have to take a Trolley everywhere you go and it’s super easy to get lost on this resort and with the lack of communication and language barriers good luck trying to find help! We had to switch our room due to extreme smell of Mold in the first room it was so bad it took your breath away and the air didn’t work, the second room same issue the air was bad the beds are rock hard the toilet ran non stop and plugged up easily the shower drain was clogged so b [... read more]y the time the three of us showered the third person was standing in dirty water :( the room Also had a pungent urine smell beside the couch that turned into a bed! the third room for our last two nights the air worked but they had to bring in a cot as they only had a king bed room. The food was ok there was a terrible sewer smell at the entrance of the buffet and inside on the one side of the restaurant! The Mexican a la carte was amazing and the beach grill a la carte the Italian is just ok you leave hungry as the portions are very small! The midnight snack bars are great also! The pools are great and the beach is beautiful the drinks are just ok! The majority of the staff are very rude which is the first time I have ever seen this down south I was actually taken back by this! You definitely have to save Chairs with towels at the beach and pools or you will not get one by 10 in the morning:( overall we had a good time but probably would not return to this resort! This has been our 7th time at a Bahia resort and our favourite is the Mayan Riveria Bahia we are returning there in October 2019 for our friends wedding:)

Punta Cana Princess: Nice resort

The resort was a nice size. Always palapa’s available on the beach. Not so easy to find chairs around the pool because of people reserving chairs early in the morning. Room was clean and very nice. We stayed in building 4 on the top floor. Great location, we had pool and ocean view. Food and drinks were okay. No top shelf liquor available at most bars. Overall a very nice resort.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Excellent choice

Stayed May 4 to May 11/2019. Second time staying there (May 2018). This is a very clean resort. The public washrooms are always clean and nicely scented with cinnamon candles & oils. Everything is within walking distance-beach, pool, restaurants & lobby. Staff is friendly and always saying hello without looking for a handout. Rooms were large and clean. We unfortunately had really bad water pressure if showering around 5:00. Thought it was our shower head but when maintenance came to check it out, it worked fine. I believe it was just too many people showering at the same time that we lost hot water pressure. We were in building 11, 2nd floor. However, I also stayed here a year ago in building 11 3rd floor and had an excellent shower. If we needed something or had a concern, you need only ask and they try to fix it. In hindsight, I should have had maintenance come at 5:00 to show them the problem rather than later in the evenings when it would work for them. The point is, all I had to do was ask and I should have. Building 11 backs on to neighboring resort and their outdoor party area. Very loud but with our patio doors closed and the ac on, it was not bad for us. I can sleep through anything, but some people would have trouble with it. Only cons- frequently approached by resort VIP staff trying to sell us the VIP package information session. Also public beach so vendors are constantly trying to sell you something. A simple “no thank you” and they were on there way. That being said, we also met and got to know some of the public vendors and the VIP staff and they are just trying to do a job too. Very friendly and respectful when we would say “no thank you”. I definitely would be happy to go back again. Basically went for total R& R. Do nothing and read a book. Did not try excursions. All ages seem to enjoy this resort. I am 56 but There were lots of young families and young adults (25 age?) there as well. Beach was windy so the beach bar restaurant is very sandy but they are constantly sweeping it. Sometimes blows around though in the sitting area. But the food was good there. Both pools were good. People do the towel thing though to hold them but generally they are not gone for hours. Although there are warnings, staff does not monitor this. I think that travellers have to be more respectful of other travellers and accept more responsibility and not pass everything off to the resorts. They are wheelchair friendly as well. A la carts are on second floor but I saw a chair lift available on the stairs. It is everything that I need on a vacation.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Good value for sun and relaxation

We recently returned from our stay at this hotel. The price was very reasonable. It is worth the dollars to upgrade to VIP status to get the extra perks such as free safety deposit box rental, unlimited speciality restaurant reservations, wifi, VIP lounge, access to their bar and beach area and the extra bit of service. I would rate this hotel as 3 star. The grounds are nicely kept for an older resort, room was clean and staff very pleasant and helpful if you reciprocate in kind. There are how [... read more]ever some things I did not like about this hotel....sound carries easily in the hallways into your room and many times we heard inconsiderate young guests making very loud noises coming back to their rooms in the early morning hours. The food was okay in the 3 specialty restaurant and buffet but nothing to rave home about. We are not picky eaters. We were there in May so if you are a beach person, beware that the beach is lovely until 1230; in the afternoon, the wind then picks up so badly that you need to change sites and return to the pool area. The nightly entertainment is not worth watching which leads to quiet nights. It would have been nice if they had some singers or a band playing local music or songs to get the crowd up dancing. If you want to relax, read a book, enjoy sunny tropical weather than this resort is okay. I would probably not come back again as there are many other places to visit.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Relaxing Vacation

Excellent rooms, very spacious and clean. The staff and service is excellent and prompt. The grounds are beautifully maintained and clean. The pool area is very nice and big with lots of room. The beach is okay nothing special. The nightly entertainment could improve on the adult side of the resort, however, on the family side there is plenty of entertainment. The food was good lots of selection. My over all experience was great!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Good resort

It's really nice hotel, big room, good food, nice beach and pool. I love the buffet at the beach. They have grill seafood everyday. It's good resort for family. My daughter has so much fun. She can make friends and play with another kids at the poor and beach. The only concern, my husband try all kind of foods. Maybe he eat sushi or raw fish, he got sick one day, should make sure the burger cook well done too. Over all , it's really nice hotel. I can recommend to everyone if they have kids.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Another great stay.

This was our 4th stay at this resort enjoyed our stay as always. Great staff & food was also good. They changed our room by request from 3rd floor to first floor with pool view as I have bad knees. A shout out to the bar tenders & Robert in the dinning room.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great time!

We loved our second visit to memories splash! The rooms are clean and spacious. The people are so friendly especially Ramon who catered to our family every day. The pools, ocean and water park were amazing! We spent all day outside going to different areas. We always found something to eat and the sweets at both coffee shops are so yummy:)

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort

Love this resort,needs some improvements thou.food 3 star,grounds should be cleaned daily.also need to spray around the resort for bugs,we had a lot of bites.one in my party had to go to hosiphal.also found staff were not happy .one out of 10 had a smile.Griselda Almonds my maid was great,only one on the resort that deserve a trip..

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Spectacular resort!

The resort was amazing, very clean all the staff are very friendly and funny. Breakfast at the main buffet was delicious and the pasta they made in front of you for dinner was 10/10. If you visit this resort make sure to make reservations at the Japanese restaurant, best night of the whole trip!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Awesome

This was our first time and the experience was top notch the food was fabulous the atmosphere was excellent lots of entertainment day and night, The only thing was a barrier between languages with the staff. I would definitely recommend this resort it was a great experience.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Perfect!

Was pleasantly surprised on how much we all loved this resort. We have stayed at much more expensive resorts yet Be Live was far better! We loved the size of the resort...small yet offered all amenities to make a great week. The only downfall to this resort is the dated rooms. However we spent limited time in our room so wasn’t a huge factor for us.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: nice resort

The hotel was clean, but a bit dated. The beach was nice, very clean, no garbage around, you could walk for hours as long as you don't mind getting off the resort property. The food was OK. Unfortunately, we could not get into the "À la carte" restaurants even with it being the off season.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada - Highly recommend

This resort is the perfect size. Blocks of rooms are on both sides and pool is in the middle. Had our pick of huts on the beach each day. Emailed the resort before we came to book our alacartes, and everything was carried out. Buffet restaurants & snack bars were great as well. Rooms were clean & comfortable.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Declining since last trip

Have visited this report approximately 5-6 times since 2010 (family vacations). - Grounds : Beautiful and always well-kept - Service : Decreasing in room maintenance keep-up (light-bulb out for 2 weeks, door wouldn't close without being slammed shut, ceiling in bathroom fixed multiple times during stay)- Also met quite a few people on this vacation that had other room complaints. - Staff : Majority of the staff are extremely friendly, approachable and engaging with all of the resort guests [... read more]. However, this trip there were a couple situations where an employee would ignore or place another guest above me or someone else for the extra tips that many give- I believe in tipping (even at all-inclusive resorts) however, when my service is disrupted because someone else has given an employee a tip it can be disappointing. - Premium club members : Better alcohol- but, you have to go get it yourself as they have no waiters for this bar. This club bar is air-conditioned and provides snacks almost all day which is nice. As a premium member you get access to an extra breakfast and lunch spot- Oceania, which is a nice addition. But, aside from these pro's it is not worth the extra money in my opinion. - Will probably try a different resort the next vacation as it was difficult to get our issues resolved, the room maintenance expectations from our previous trips has declined, and there seems to be less going on around the resort- Entertainment team is very hardworking, but there seems to be less of them around and, doing less activities.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Catalonia Does It All

The Resort is amazing. Beautiful grounds, Excellent, efficient staff. Nothing is too much trouble and the response is immediate with a smile. . Would not recommend it for seniors but great for families.

Riu Palace Bavaro: Unforgettable Resort

Amazing resort, staff was great the resort was very close to the beach, rooms were clean, fridge was stocked up everyday. Sports bar had the all the games and was open 24hrs. Would come back again and will recommend to my friends and family, thank you trip central

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Best vacation in a long time!!!

Hotel staff were amazing and friendly. Resort gardens and beach were stunning. Food was great! Lots of options. Our suite was great for our family. There was a crib in our room upon arrival. We didn’t even have to ask for it. Cleaners cane to the rooms at reasonable times and felt safe all the time on the resort. Water gym was so fun! Pools were clean and big. Lots of chairs available. The service was great. Buffet staff come to help you with drinks faster than any all inclusive I’ve been to. So professional and friendly. Buffet breakfast makes the best omelettes I have ever had! The little things stop this resort from being a 5 star. Only two outlets in the room, none near the bed if you even brought your own clock radio which they don’t have in the rooms. Lopsided toilet seat that’s screw down that way. How does that get by final inspection? Inconsistent maid service, sometimes 10am then other days 5pm and you never got the same amount of towels. Standard buffet food so you never went hungry but who serves chicken wings, mashed potatoes or even pork chops for breakfast? A la cartel restaurants overall descent but book your reservations before you go and don’t worry about dress clothes as you can wear anything and still get in. Get ready to play towel game if you want front row at the beach otherwise there are lots of loungers farther back.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing relaxing resort!!!!!

This was a great resort! Intimate and easy to get around. Short walk to the beach and a wonderful beach and snack bar. Perfect place to relax. They have zumba , yoga and other activities. Loved it!!!!!
