Gran Muthu Imperial: Relaxing Resort
Overall the resort is very clean and well kept. The service is great but delivery of service is inconsistent. Upon checking in we where told your room is that way, given a map, in the dark, to a room on the far side of the resort. Next day guests are being taken to the room by golf carts on the daylight!?! Food was typical for Cuba. Would recommend the Seafood alacarte. The beach to the left of the resort is very good lots of lounge chairs and bar service.
Memories Jibacoa: Lovely Resort
The Resort itself was incredibly clean for an older resort. I can't say enough about the housekeeping services! I'd give them a 10+ star rating! The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful! Great walking either on the beach or on the road surrounded by the high hills. The food, well what can i say, so plesantly surprised at the abundance of It! There should be no bad reviews on this whatsoever! Beverages, well, pretty much the same quality as most resorts unless you upgrade to Diamond Pkg. [... read more]
Gran Muthu Imperial: Great quiet resort
I enjoyed the hotel; the courtyard at night was lovely. Entertainment that 'popped up' in lobby was amazing, as were the shows. The grounds were maintained and it was clean. There were 3 different style pool areas. My criticism would be maintenance. Bathroom door didn't close (slider) the whole week and no one fixed it. Also our maid wasn't the best. Had to ask to restock fridge; she did bare minimal. The beach was nice but sand not as nice as some beaches I've been to in Cuba. I enjo [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very nice resort
The resort grounds were beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and clean, we didnt stay on the royal side either. You get 4 a la cartes but we ended up getting an extra one because they weren't busy and had room. The food at the a la cartes were all really good the Japanese was our favorite and the Mediterranean one as well as the Hilltop was very elegan but I would advise not to order the beef as my steak was thin and full of grizzle very difficult to cut and little meat on it. The buffet was o [... read more]

Hotel Los Cactus: I’ll be back!
Be Live adult only Los Cactus has the most welcoming vibe. It’s super comfortable, maybe not the newest, and that might be why it is so relaxed and friendly. The staff knows what they are doing and are helpful, respectful and friendly. It’s Cuba so the food is different, and I completely enjoyed every meal I had. The resort is the perfect size, nothing is too far away. Bars and restaurants are all good and very well run. I love the safe, clean, friendly feeling we had on this vacation!
Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Pretty good for Cuba
People at resort very friendly and nice. Food was the best I ever had and I have been to Cuba at least 6 times. It was kind of weird that they ran out of French fries, chicken and coke a cola. The breakfast were great with a large asortment of baked goods and breakfast items. Entertainment was good. The coffe was great as well.
Hotel Vigia: Good resort
We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. Its a nice quiet, small resort. There were no line ups. There were lots of beach and pool lounge chairs available. The bravh is magnificent. The rooms were in need of upgrading but it was no problem for us as we were only using them to sleep and bath. The staff on the resort were amazing! The only complaint I have is the lack of free WiFi. You had to buy minutes and signal was limited to the lounge/bar areas. Nothing in the rooms. Overall a good vacat [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Needs some TLC
This is my second vacation to Grand Memories within three years . We liked the resort better the first time. Even though this last visit we upgraded to Diamond Club , we found a lot missing and service has significantly deteriorated . On the whole people were friendly but too slow in responding to your requests . Had to beg for towels , there was no hot water in our building for two days . Customer service was not up to standard . There is a general feeling of neglect . The grounds however [... read more]
Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing resort
New hotel, great food and absolutely beautiful. Night shows are ok but a lot of ballet. Wouldn’t mind seeing that change up a little, staff was pleasant!! Snack bar waiters are the best!! Dinner buffet was super busy and sometimes crazy lines, layout could be better.
Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Vacation
The hotel was very nice, the food was quite good and the service was very good. The beach is excellent, but there was limited number of shelters, which is always the case at any resort. I am not a pool person, so I did not spend any time at the pool, but they looked good. I think one had slides for kids. The room was clean and nice. The fridge was restocked daily. The entertainment in the theater was excellent, although some found it to loud. There was a entertainment team at the beach as well. Re [... read more]
Iberostar Coral Holguin: best in Cuba
This is as close to a 5 star that you will find in Cuba. Service, cleanliness, modern with 3hrs/day/person of free wifi. The food is better tahn most other Cuban resorts, but still not 5 star, shortages, lack of spices still exist, presentation however was great, the skae restaurant does outdo itself, possibly 5 star level. The Coral section, with perks, and adults only is so quiet and peaceful, while the rest of the resort is more family oriented, evryone seemed to enjoy the pools. The staff we [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: LOVELY RESORT!
We just returned from a week at the Iberostar in Cayo Santa Maria. It is a large, spread out resort which is very well kept, beautiful gardens, large clean pools. We had a room on the ground floor in building 21 which is fairly close to the reception/ lobby/ buffet etc. We had a large room, with a large balcony, a king size bed, flat screen Tv , stocked refrigerator. The large bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. There are beautiful tennis courts although there was some confusion obtainin [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Disappointing!
At first glance, the hotel looks amazing. The room was adequate. we upgraded to "privilege" at extra cost a got a room without a shower - just a hand-held shower wand. The buffet was horrible. Minutes after the buffet opened, the food was already cold. The food in Cuba is never good but this was absolutely disgusting. We lived on bread, butter and bland pasta for the week. The a la carte restaurants were hugely disappointing - nowhere near the "asian" or "italian" they claimed to be. The "privil [... read more]
Hotel Atlantico: excellent value
beach gorgeous, staff very pleasant and helpful food tasty, beds excellent, balcony nice pool lovely to look at but too cold - sea warmer bathtub coating peeling off, trouble with door lock - addressed by staff immediately - room switched
Muthu Playa Varadero: Its not a 4 star hotel
Poor costumer service food at al la carte its crap the buffet is always same food everyday poor cleaning at the rooms bartenders dont know how to mix drinks rooms are old broken furniture showers are small and dirty and i got 2 ,rooms all the same ac controls doesnt work overall its not a 4 star and this is not my first time in cuba
Hotel Playa Paraiso: Resort so so
Friendly staff - food not the best. We had to change our rooms 3 times - rooms smelled like Mold and musty. Maid service was Terrible. Beautiful beach but had to be there by 6 to reserve shade area. Not very accommodated for disabled
Brisas Guardalavaca: True Posted Reports
Friendliest, accommodating staff ever. A la cartes were enjoyed thoroughly. Buffet and snack areas probably one of the best, too, we have experienced in Cuba. Chairs were set out, not waiting for a staff member, for the ocean experience and first time for us that the ocean was more popular than the pool! Hot water can be an issue in room, but used to this in Cuba and it will come sooner, or later. Not an issue in villas so we heard. Walked the whole area outside and completely safe. Melia Peninsula Varadero: Pretty awesome
Just a great resort for kids. The staff is wonderful. The food, delicious by Cuban standards. What a beach! The pool is great as well. The only comment would be the bathroom designs which leaked water. And the elevators. It's hard to keep stainless steel looking pristine. Olive oil helps and they need a coat of paint and potted palms. Other than that. It was my best vacation yet. I relaxed, finally, my boy had a ball. He is golden and happy.
