Occidental Caribe: Great layout!

The resort layout is great. So close to the beach which has many palm trees for shade. 2 large pools with one being quieter than the other. Plenty of snacks and bars available. Beautiful grounds. The food was good at the buffet. I always found something to eat. We went to 2 À la Carte restaurants, La Hacienda which was good and it also has a daily sit down lunch menu during the day. The other was Tokio and it was the best. If I had one complaint it would be the restocking of the mini fridge [... read more] and towels in our room. I don't think it was the maids fault. They seem to have limited supplies on their carts. All in all I think it was a good place and we would go back.

TRS Turquesa: Mostly good, but...

The resort is beautiful and part of a larger connected of series of properties within the Grand Palladium area. TRS is the nicest part and is adults only. It is nice. The staff were very enthusiastic in pouring drinks. There are some things which are difficult to forgive. The men's restrooms often had empty or broken soap dispensers. I had a stomach bug, hard to know if that was related but gross regardless. Some of our meals at restaurants were unreasonably slow. One took the better part of  [... read more]three hours.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Loved it’

Grounds are immaculate, hotel is clean and well kept, all areas a joy! Entertainment was top notch and food was glorious! Best vacation ever. Not to forget amazing staff everywhere and treat you as family, can’t wait to bring our family back with us next time, which hopefully it very soon, love Bahia principle!

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing honeymoon!

This hotel was fantastic! The grounds were amazing, our butler was great. The drinks were fantastic! The only thing to complain about the room was that it was damp when we first got there. We think it’s because maids keep the doors open when cleaning between guests. We suggest bringing damp rid. It worked wonders.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Pictures don’t do this resort justice

Check in was fast and easy, room requests granted and easily found with all items in working order and clean. Food was great with enough selection to satisfy, all seasoned well in my opinion. No reservations at a la cartes, and guys can wear shorts, also never any wait. Beach is stunning and clean, clear water with no seaweed or shells/corals to hurt your feet, nice waves but not too big. Nice secluded resort with enough activities to keep you entertained, but never overbearing or pushy. Evening entertainment was a bit of a let down..but the disco was available to dance if desired. I’d go back as it’s a short drive from the airport and secluded. Make sure you land at AZS not puerto plata All in all a great holiday.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Amazing resort

We have stayed there 5 times. Fantastic staff, great food. Beautiful grounds. Service unbelievable. Excellent drinks. Love the pool and beach. Butlers great . No complaints. We will go again.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Awesome resort

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: One of the highlights of our travel history!

This resort was amazing! Stayed at the Bahia Principe Bavaro in December 2018 and the Aquamarine was outstanding in comparison. We were astounded considering it was all on the same huge complex. The environment was immaculate - they even washed the road/walkways - every day! The gardens, lobbies, pools, all surrounding areas were stunning. Jambalya cooked on the beach every day! Staff were smiling and friendly most of the time - not so much at Bavaro. The beach was spectacular. Lots of palapas, lots of beach chairs, lunch restaurants right on beach, beach bar and waiters who delivered to your beach chair. Constant supply of clean, dry beach towels. Loved this resort and we plan to return this year in December! Our only complaint was the beds in our otherwise perfect room. The mattresses were terrible. We should have asked to have them switched out. We will see if there is a difference in December.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Family Vacation

We found the Gran Ventana Resort to be exactly what we were expecting. The hotel is kept very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food in my opinion was above average. The location is very, very nice as far as beach and close to shopping. Playa Dorado is a fabulous area in the D.R. for a vacation. The ocean in front of the Gran Ventana was crystal clear which made for great snorkeling. Food at the buffet was quite good for every meal throughout the day, the burgers and chicken at the beach eatery was very good, food at the Ocean Grill and Octopus was also very good but I disliked the food and service at the italian restaurant . All in all I would definitely consider returning , as a matter of fact my wife has requested we return for our Nov. vacation

Impressive Punta Cana: Not Impressed

This hotel was not very impressive. The service was very disappointing. Pool bar ran out of beer every day. The restaurants did not have bacon or french fries. The rooms and resort were very clean though. I would not even say this would be a 4 star. The ala cartes were good but the On the Grill (Steakhouse) was only open 2 days we were there. Some of the staff at the bars and the cafe were very rude, it felt like they did not like their job and made people feel uncomfortable. Entertainment was n [... read more]ot very good. Considering other resorts I have been to for the same price or less and was very pleased, I would not return to this resort.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great experience!!!!!

The photos do not do this resort justice, it has a very modern feel, and the beach is gorgeous. Did not upgrade our room because we felt the standard room was great! Tons of entertainment would go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort

Everything about the resort was amazing. The facilities, the staff, the food was all great! My only complaint was that the beds felt like you were sleeping on cement. Despite the beds I am definitely going back there. I have been going to Punta Cana for eighteen years and the Aquamarine is right up there at the top in my opinion!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: it is an oka resort not the best

The only reason l am giving my opinion is because l have a travel and hotel degree and have been to many islands and resorts so l can easily do the comparison. The resort itself is pretty and very clean. The landscaping is up to date and everything looks fresh. I am used to getting checked in, getting my room key and unpacking just as you would expect to do, however it did not go down that way. Wrong room to start with and by the time l got the right room a day and half went by before l could e [... read more]ven up pack. Check your bracelet because l wasn't the only one where it didn't work. My combination on my safe never worked neither so l couldn't get at my money until someone came and fixed it and yes it was much, much later. Now if you want to go to the beach or the pool you must get up no later than 7:00AM or you WILL NOT GET a lounge chair, cabania or tent ANYWHERE. l Wish someone would have told me this but by the 3rd day l caught on and believe me when l tell you that when you walk to the pool or down by the beach with your towel you will see tons of towels on lounges claiming that spot., Every one must be setting their alarm before 7AM. I know by now that when you go to a different place things like this happen so l tried to brush it off. Went to dinner came back and no room cleaned. It finally got cleaned 2 days later!!!! What do you do when they tell that they forgot. They have specialty restaurants at this resort but if you want to go to any of them you have to book the minute you get down there or they will be gone and you get only the buffet. On my second night l wanted to book the Brazilian and told it was all gone and so where all the others and all they could do was say sorry about that. The problem is even though l mentioned it to the manger (because not too many speak english) he seemed concerned but just pushed it forward on to his workers who didn't follow through, so by now I look like l am the one doing the complaining. So l suppose at this resort you have to accept the fact that it does not have the greatest service, they try hard but that's it. One more thing even though it has 24 concierge service it is very poor. One night l ask for a blanket had to call 8 times before l got through and then they came he had a sheet in a bag and never spoke on word of english. I finally got my blanket the last day l was leaving, what a joke. The majority of money comes from Canada and U.S so you would assume that this resort would have more english speaking workers. This hotel needs a lot more organization and I would rate this at best a 3 star.

The Level at Melia Caribe: Great Resort

Great staff, very good food, nice beach and pool. Overall the trip was very good and we all had a good time, I would go back again. Had a couple of small hiccups, but nothing to spoil our vacation. We were part of a group and there was a mix up because two of us had the same last name, so after they checked my parents in, they gave our room to someone else. We had to wait for a room in a different building than the rest of the group( but it was near so not a big problem.) If they had just t [... read more]old us there was going to be a delay checking in, it would not have been an issue, but in stead there was a lot of "it will be ready soon" and then nothing. The bath robes were missing and it took multiple requests over five days until we finally got two tiny robes that looked like they were rolled in a ball and stored in the bottom of a closet. The restocking of the mini fridge was a little hit or miss Other than these minor issues, we found the staff friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Beautiful resort

The resort exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful, so much to do and very clean. Food and restaurants were great and staff was friendly. Although there were a lot of people there, it never felt too crowded. Will definitely be coming back!

Riu Bambu: Incredible Vacation!

Ok I'm Going to make this short and sweet...We loved this resort! Everything about it was Fantastic except for one thing which I will get to in a second. The room was Very nice very clean. The people were very warm, from the cleaning staff to the folks at the front desk.The grounds themselves were super clean and VERY well kept. The food was good...It was not out of this world good but it was very good. the food staff were excellent! Now for the bad part...The only thing that this resort was lacking was the proper production (lighting) for their nightly entertainment. The shows were good but when you are putting on a semi big show you need the proper lighting to go with the production. If you do not have this it just looks like a rehearsal.The stage was big and the seating was very accommodating. Just fell short. Apart from that...We loved the Bambu and would definitely recommend this place to our friends

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Excellent, Amazing, Fantastic

The resort is very clean ... the grounds are well maintained ... the people are courteous and helpful ... the room clean, well maintained and very inviting ... I really recommend this hotel to any one ... the many restaurants they have are amazing ... the buffet has a different theme each night ... the night activities are enjoyable to watch ... I plan to come back to this resort many times in the future.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great Resort!

Resort was large but lots of carts to pick you up if you didn’t want to walk. Lots of activities daily. Rooms were clean but smelled very musty. Air conditioner wasn’t working great but with the fan on it was okay.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great location and beautiful beach!

WE loved the clean beach, snorkel right there! Nice easy access resort. (no trolly to the beach needed here! - steps away!) Not too big and not too small. I have been to several, to compare, great easy layout, 3 a la carte and great food. Beach bar and buffet were always on point. zero complaints about the food. The staff were always lovely and the drinks cold. Great value for the dollar.

Punta Cana Princess: Punta Cana Princess - May 3-10

The resort was very nice. Clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurants were quite nice but found the buffet got a bit boring at times but overall quite nice. We would have to say the only thing we were not pleased with was the vendor beside the pool was a bit pushy and made it a bit uncomfortable walking beside it at times.
