El Cozumeleno Beach: Worst Management

Hotel management is the worst management I’ve ever seen or had to deal with. A couple left their 9 year old daughter (who had some medical problems) to watch 6 year old son (brother) on the resort, to go on excursion Christmas Day (2019). Excursion was from 10am to 6pm (or close to). I wasn’t forced but felt obligated to watch these children. Hotel did nothing about the situation but ‘talk’ to the parents because it was the second time in a week it has happened. I said what happens if those children get washed out to sea, manager said ‘not my problem, it’s the parents problem!’. I said ‘It’s not my job to watch other people’s children!’ Manager replied with ‘Well thank you for doing that, they are fine right, what more do you want me to do?’ I threatened to call the police. She said no I had to go downtown to do it. Then tried to tell me that their kids club open from 10-5. I said your not allowed to leave the resort. She said kids club is open from 10-5. The management is absolutely useless from there. The staff is good but the front desk don’t care about anything other then your money. Nothing is their problem. They would rather watch two young children get swept out to sea then contact the right authorities. I refuse to EVER go back to this resort. I have contacted CAS here and will be finding out the dads name and filing for neglect of those children!! From a mother to a mother, trust me when I say, this is not a good resort for your children. The amount of cocaine going the through there and the constant smell of weed will ruin your week! The rooms are musty smelling and the beds are super uncomfortable and the sheets have a funny smell. Every time I tried to shower was no hot water! Then check out is at 12. And we weren’t leaving til 9pm because our plane was delayed almost 2 hours. They refused to give me a room for my not even two year old daughter to sleep or nap or give her a break from the heat, before our long ride back to Toronto. They had empty rooms! Just don’t care because it’s not their problem!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Ok resort

The best part of the resort were the animal friendly grounds. Lots of jungle like growth and lots of agouti, coatimundi, monkeys, and a healthy, controlled cat population. Beach was very small and rocky. Difficult to find a place to sit . Lovely quiet pool.

Moon Palace Cancun: Moon Palace Resort - Cancun (Nizuk)

Great resort, very clean, lots of amenities, pleasant and helpful staff. Special shout to Albert and his crew at the buffet, outstanding service all week! Would definitely consider staying again, and would definitely recommend to others.

Riu Palace Baja California: Amazing Resort would definitely return

Everyone was friendly the resort was kept clean at all times. It was more than I was hoping for beautiful scenery and gorgeous resort. We were very well taken care of and felt comfortable at all times.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort with 1 exception...

Some highlights from our stay at Secrets include the following: Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive; went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Lots of selection and variety of restaurants. Pools were the best feature with plenty of lounge chairs, access to food, bars and restrooms. Overall grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The spa is well worth visiting and the view is absolutely stunning. The only thing I would suggest avoiding is the “Time Share” people who ask you  [... read more]to spend 90 minutes of your time listening to their offer in exchange for credits. This experience resulted in 3 hours of our time wasted.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Relaxing Resort

Overall the staff and service people went above and beyond. They were cheerful and accommodating, especially Neyfi and Demitrio in the breakfast buffet. The grounds were well kept as were the pools and the music around the pools was somewhat muted as not to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. The snack bar at the pool was a nice feature but a little understaffed. The rooms was generally clean but in need of some update and maintenance, especially in the bathroom. The cook to order egg station was nice but understaffed.as well.The a la carte Alux and Arlequin restaurants were excellent. The Brazilian restaurant was not very good because the service was poor (30 min and others being served around us and the manager was unapologetic) the food selection was limited and there were too many mosquitos (inside). The trains/trollies were reliable and the drivers were friendly. Staying at the Sian Ka’an was a peaceful getaway from the larger busy resorts with the ease and access to them all. The beach was well maintained with ample seating and a short walk to the restrooms and restaurants of the Akumal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Sian Ka’an and may return again.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Great for couples

Was a beautiful resort and you are never very far from getting drinks or food. The staff are friendly but this resort is more for couples who want to relax. If you are looking for a party this is not it.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Ok resort

This was our 2nd time at this resort. My kids loved the snack bar so much the first time that they begged to go back. Sooo...unfortunately, they got rid of this snack bar. It was so awesome to get mid-day snacks, but now you have to go to the kid slide pool/area - which is a fair distance away from main pool. Each night, when you went for dinner, the line-ups were ridiculous at every location. The staff worked their butts off to keep up, but they were under staffed for the amount of people. The Mexican restaurant was so good - but they had one staff cooking and the lineup for food wrapped around the buffet - which made it difficult to reach for food if you didn’t want what the cook was serving. The steak and fish place had great food but again the wait. Lunch and dinner had amazing food with lots of options...but no bacon in the morning except on Wednesday? Bacon and/sausage is a breakfast staple for Canadians! It was sometimes a battle to get maple syrup as well. We enjoyed the animals and the resort is a nice size. Not for anyone who loves the beach. Lots of shade and chairs by the pool. Night entertainment was excellent. Lady Gaga was the best show I’ve seen in 10 years in Mexico. Again - no issues with staff - always kind and attentive, I just think they need more when the resort is so busy. The staff handled a serious issue that happened very professionally. I really hate waiting in line when on holidays...and it is not just to be seated, it is having to wait for people to leave. This never happened the last time when we had reservations for each restaurant with sittings. Room wise - We were in the older buildings so a bit dated...like no working light in the washroom, but otherwise the room is big and clean. It’s an ok resort but not a 4+ - more of a 3.5-3.75 in my opinion.

Dreams Huatulco: Wonderful holiday !

As always the staff and the weather were amazing. Dreams Huatulco is a wonderful place to spend the holidays. Consistently good food ( lots of variety to please everyone in our family) , enough activities to amuse the teens, and good value for money.

Paradisus Cancun: Wonderful resort

Service is excellent. Staffs are very nice to talk to. Besides, this resort provides many restaurants offering a variety of delicious cuisines, from Mexican to Asian Fusion. Also abundant nice bars.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Nice Resort

We liked this resort, just steps to the beach, water was clean after a rainy day but the day still warm and the kids had lots of fun. The waterpark was nice and food option was fair... ( really picky kids) . The only bad thing is people smoking on the beach beside families with children/infants, and most of cigarettes butts end up polluting the beach send and the ocean, not a really ecologically friend for nowadays standard.

Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun: A small, great 5 star resort!

Simple summary... Great, small, quiet adult only resort as a sub resort of the Iberostar Cancun resort. You still have access to all of the amenities of the main resort. Brand new - Opened in Dec 2018. Had room 5112 - spectacular walk around balcony with views of ocean and main resort. No seaweed - lots of small sandbars to swim out to and body surf safely in waves. It was too cool until Xmas Day and then lots of people started using it, socializing more around it, etc.. Soooooo, keep the pool warm! One little gem: in the main resort, second floor, behind the bar, next to the Japanese/Steakouse restaurants, is a Star Prestige (old name for Coral) lounge. Full access to all premium wines, liquor, etc... So when at the main resort, check it out Will be coming back

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great experience

Good location, the resort has many things to do, good beach for both sun bath and snorkeling. Good selections of food and a la carte restaurants and bars. Friendly staffs and of course a little tip can makes differences. This varies on people and the situations. The beach does not have all white sands like Cancun strip but some rocks and coral related marine life. Doesn't stop from getting the sun on a chair of course. Check out the pictures if not sure. *Highly recommended to have diving  [... read more]shoes or some kind of water footware when going into the water as the bottom can be very Rocky or coraly unexpectedly. Seen many people with foot/leg injuries. This varies on which area of the beach you enter. Follow the crowd if not sure. Snorkeling was awesome that tons of marine life from the shore to little further. Lots of fish, manta rays, and TURTLES were encountered not too far from the shore. Swimming with the turtles was amazing experience. Without feeding anything they may come and swim with you or around you if they find you interesting. Just stay away from the big crowd of people. Big enough of a resort so going for walks was easy. Getting to PDC or Tulum was pretty good since the resort was right in the middle. If you have been and know where things are this resort will be great. If this is your first time, this is not too bad of a location but may increase your travel time if you are planning frequent trips to Cancun or PDC or excursions. Or just stay in the resort for the chilled vacation.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: THIRD TIME STILL A CHARM

SMALL RESORT RIGHT ON AKUMAL BEACH GREAT PLACE TO CHILL NOT TO PARTY,THE STAFF IS AMAZING ,FOOD GREAT, JACUZZI EVERY ROOM, BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT LOCATION EACH ROOM HAS OCEAN VIEW BONUS, ONCE AGAIN A BIG THANKS GOES TO THE STAFF WHO CATERS TO MOST EVERY REQUEST

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Awesome resort!

This was our 2nd visit to the Barcelo Maya Grand Resort, the last time being 11 years ago. We loved this resort just as much this time as the last. Check-in and Check-out was quick and easy and we found everyone working on the resort very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were really good and we were able to reserve at 5 during our stay. The buffet was really good, and lots of variety. We loved the beach and pool and never had trouble finding lounge chairs. We enjoyed swimming in front of the Tropical with the tropical fish. We had a great holiday!

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful resort!

The resort was beautifully kept and the rooms were updated and clean. The restaurants had delicious food with lots of variety. They could use more servers as you had to wait long for drinks and food. The beach was gorgeous with lovely palm trees providing plentiful shade.

Riu Flamingos: Great resort!

My family of 6 and my parents enjoyed a week at the RIU Jalisco. The resort is beautiful with immaculate grounds and the rooms are well kept. The lobby could be updated but that really didn’t matter much. The buffets and a la carte restaurants had great food. They could really use a more casual beach grill that allowed beach attire. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great resort!!

Grounds are absolutely beautiful! Perfect size for us. Rooms could use a bit of TLC. That’s my only complaint. Steak house is amazing and all the staff went above and beyond. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had a great time.

The Reef Coco Beach: Quaint, quiet & clean ... pleasant stay

Pros:The hotel grounds were beautiful and pristine, the beach was small but well kept, beautiful white sand & nice swimming area. Our standard rooms were dated & basic but clean. The food was excellent, many choices, all fresh & flavourful. The servers were excellent. The entertainment staff were all fun & very friendly. Cons: not really all inclusive, extra charges for restaurants & wifi and special coffee. This was rather frustrating and annoying. This resort should consider charging a litt [... read more]le bit more so that “everything” is included as an “all inclusive” should be. We have been to many Mexican all inclusive’s over the past 10 years and this was our first experience of not everything included in an all inclusive. This is a great little resort with lots going for it but the extra costs every time we turned around was a turn off!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this resort for 9 nights and 10 days! I’d highly recommend staying here but it does have its pros and cons depending on what you are looking for. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the staff are ALWAYS working so hard. The room we stayed in was fairly dated and our air conditioner was leaking all the time but besides that it was cleaned daily. The resort Is fairly large but there are little shuttles that are always going by so you can grab one, and walking fr [... read more]om one end to the other would maybe take 10 mins max if you have a far away building from the beach. As for the buffets we weren’t very pleased with them but everyone else seemed to enjoy them. I would highly suggest making sure to book your a la carte a day prior , we really enjoyed those.. they were so yummy and we really looked forward to trying a new one every night. On Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day they have a lot of great shows and events going on!! There is always something going on here you won’t get bored!
