Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Perfect Honeymoon Vacation

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was just perfect. The staff are so friendly and wonderful, the food is amazing, there are always activities to do during the day and entertainment every night. The service at the restaurants and by the pool & beach is fantastic. Beach is gorgeous. We had an amazing time.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Wedding week

My daughters wedding was held on the beach at the resort. The staff and everyone made her day a day to remember. Couldn't be happier with everything. The staff went out of their way to make sure you had the most enjoyable time. The servers at the buffet always greeted us with their happy smiles.

The resort staff, food, rooms, were all amazing. The only disappointment was the shuttle service. Always promised a shuttle would be coming right away but we usually waited over 1/2 Hour. We would end up walking. Pool parties were awesome🍻🍻🍻😉

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Huge resort!

The service was excellent, and the location is perfect, between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The place feels more like a little town than a resort and so many activities that you could do, from watching dolphins to kayak and nature walks

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Not for those with mobility issues/beware of sales pitches

This hotel and specifically it's location are breathtaking - you are up close and personal with many exotic and wild animals. The resort is vast and quite spread out, however if you have mobility issues this becomes a liability. The resort provides a 'trolly' between all major buildings however we quickly tired of waiting every time we wanted to eat, go to the pool etc. The trolly service stops at 11 pm, curtailing your ability to enjoy the night life if you are relying on them. Another draw [... read more]back is that EVERY employee, except the cleaning staff, will approach you to attempt to book you for a time share presentation, and are not particularly gracious about accepting no for an answer. This became annoying very quickly and we found ourselves trying to find short cuts to avoid staff and their high pressure sales tactics. The floors of all the buildings and wooden bridges are extremely slippery when wet - which is often due to the climate - we witnessed many vacationers falling. The facility is being upgraded and hopefully some of these issues will be taken care of. I think this resort would be best for younger people, people with children, or active people without mobility issues.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort!

I stayed at this resort with my husband and 2 other couples. We found it very easy to find our way around, the buffet options were great and the staff was amazing!!! We would definitely stay at this location again and would recommend it to friends and family!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort!

We enjoyed this resort very much. The variety of A la Carte restaurants was very good, the food selection was fantastic. We enjoyed almost all the restaurants. The Buffet again had a lot of variety and very tasty food, wait time for drinks (pop/water/beer) took way too long. There were times that we waited 20 minutes for a drink and rarely got a refill. The room itself was perfect, clean and tidy, cleaning staff did a great job. There were not enough face towels. We had to ask everyday for [... read more] a face towel and did not always get one because we were told there is not enough. Loved that the balcony had a hanging swing, enjoyed that with a book for some quiet time. The grounds cleaning staff were always about cleaning and were always smiling. Actually we found the a lot of the staff smiling and helpful, their English was excellent. When you said Thank you to staff they always replied "it is my pleasure" and they actually meant it. The variety of pools was great, you could decide on which day where you wanted to be. The daytime activities around the pool and beach were so much fun and fun to watch. Nighttime activities were great and good to see staff and guest interaction. My sister and her family stayed next door at the Princess and they came for a visit with their kids to the Ocean, the day passes were affordable and the staff made her and her family feel very welcome. They enjoyed their time and loved the resort as well.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice resort

The hotel is far from the airport but the hotel and food make up for the distance. Lots of chairs by the pool and beach no having to leave your towel to reserve. Staff are nice and food is excellent.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Great location!

Food was great but drinks were not. All of the bars had no real or fresh fruit or juices except for bananas, so even a rum and pineapple was lousy as I was drinking pineapple 'drink'. Great location, right in Playa so nice choices for food, fun, and touristy shopping. Highly recommend the spa--steam room was fantastic and I'd suggest a massage with Enrique. The water was very choppy all week we were there (the red flag was up), so didn't even bother trying to swim at the beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: I really wanted to enjoy this vacation...

The resort is beautifully kept, the pools are large and very nice. We booked this resort basically for the Kids Club and the Waterpark (this is actually an excellent waterpark for kids, it's huge with many different slides), this was our first time going on vacation with the kids (my granddaughter who is 8 and my grandson who is almost 2). When we went to look at the Kids Club to see if we felt comfortable leaving the 2 year old, we were told that it was only for "Privileged" members and not a [... read more]vailable for us. Um, What?? I didn't notice that advertised when we were selecting the resort. Also the day before we arrived they shut the kids waterpark down for maintenance and it opened back up on our last day :( - it opened for the morning, only to be shut down again after lunch. When I complained about the waterpark being closed, the resort managers did what they could to try make up for this inconvenience, I do applaud them for that. The resort is very large, we booked the upgraded rooms as part of the "Royal Golden" upgrade, this means that you get a robe, slippers, free use of the safe (otherwise the safe if $5 a day) and an additional ala Carte. it also means that you are in the villas that are the furthest away from the buffet and a bit of a walk from the pool. When I asked about changing rooms to be closer to the food and pool I was told I would be downgrading, so we stayed where we were. The rooms in Royal Golden are exactly the same as other rooms, so I'm not sure the "upgrade" was worth it as we ended up being so far from the main attractions of the resort. The ala Carte restaurants were fabulous, our favorite by far was Le Gourmet, then Don Pablo then the Italian restaurant. The Japanese show cooking restaurant which is always a huge draw was closed when we were there :( The manager that I dealt with when discussing the closure of the waterpark were very helpful and followed up to see if everything else was going ok. We had a fabulous waiter in the buffet, Jose, but other than that I have to say in general the staff was not super friendly, we often had to wait a long time for coffee/water after we sat down and an especially long time for high chairs for the 2 year old (this was super difficult as all he wanted to do was run around free). One time they didn't bring the high chair until our meal was almost over :( When we have been at resorts before (Mexico and Cuba) the staff had been the most outstanding part of our stays. They are very friendly, helpful and remember you when you are a repeat customer during your week there. I think the biggest problem in this regard at this resort is that it is maybe just too big for the resort staff to care much. We did have a big leak from our ceiling at 10:30 pm (air conditioning leak I think?), I called and someone was there to fix it very quickly. As this resort is not on the beach we only did book it as it looked like the best option for the kids. We knew we could get the trolley to the beach. Unfortunately wait times for the trolley's was often quite long whether you were going to the beach or to your room if it was late or you were just too tired after all of the walking during the day. We did stay at BP Akumal last year and it was excellent, I assumed we would have the same experience at Coba, but we didn't. I don't think I would return to BP Coba.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Expectations were exceeded!

My expectations for this resort were not that high after reading a lot of reviews. After spending 10 days there I can certainly recommend that you not listen to a bad word about it. The staff was amazing, the food was plentiful and very tasty - lots of Mexican dishes at every meal. The a la Cartes were wonderful. We did not spend a lot of time on the beach, so the seaweed problem didn't affect our enjoyment of the resort. The smaller pool could use some maintenance - loose / missing tiles, and s [... read more]eemed to be an issue with the water circulating through the pool. The far end near the towel hut seemed to always have a sunscreen slick floating on top. The rooms were kept very clean, and supplies were always replenished. The resort transportation - "Bus" was a welcome feature wen we were tired. It makes a loop of the resort, so you can hop on and off where you need to go. Drinks were terrific! you just tell them exactly how you want it, and that's the way you get it! Pina Colada with Malibu - no problem! Buffet staff was the best - Fernando and Santiago were our servers for 8 of our 10 days - they remembered all of our preferences after the first day!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Well worth the price

With the exception of the beach, the resort is very good for the price. Throughout most of that area, it is common for the beaches to be a sun tan area only. Service at the pool bar was exceptional, housekeeping was fair and the resturants were very good.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Can’t take food from restaurants / construction

We travelled with a 10 month old and a 2.5 year old. Resort was fine but we found it challenging to find food while our children were napping or to have food in the room for when my toddler wanted something. You cannot take food out of any of the restaurants - not even the buffet (without hiding it). One night my husband tried to take some desserts to the room from the buffet as the kids were sleeping and he was stopped at the door and told no. Yes - you can order room service but it is the  [... read more]same/limited menu all week. There is also extensive construction going on down by the beach. Not only is the beach small but they are building new buildings and a new pool bar so if you are beach people, maybe wait a year until this is complete. Room size was generous.

Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful Resort!!

This was my first trip ever and I'm so pleased with the beautiful resort and the service we received. Such friendly people and beautiful pools. An abundance of food and drinks. I look forward to one day going back!

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing resort!

We stayed in a platinum room and it was amazing. The grounds were very nice and kept clean. It was a nice walk from platinum to the main lobby or there were regular shuttles to and from. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I didn't like was the platinum area of the beach. It was farther away and the wait staff had to use the same bar as the reg beach, so it took a while to get your drinks. All in all we can't wait to go back

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Very Nice for an Old Resort

This was our first time to Mexico. I must say that we were quite pleased with the service and attention received while there. It was the off season and our trip central rep. kept us up to date on what services were not available during this time frame.The staff were second to none. Everyone was more than helpful and went above and beyond to provide a service. The grounds were very well kept. No garbage anywhere. Staff were always around manicuring and did not interfere with any of the guests. [... read more] The restaurants were very clean and also the staff were there to service you if needed. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and have already done this. I would visit again and stay at this hotel. Like they say: "No need to fix something that is not broken". Hope to see this resort again very soon.

Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

Beautiful resort with amazingly friendly staff. All restaurants were amazing, especially Silkcity (we went 3 times at this restaurant). Rooms were very clean spacious. Would go back to this resort in a heartbeat.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Very big Resort.

This resort was HUGE. There is usually only one trolley going at one time so there is sometimes a wait. The food was a little disappointing. At the Asianz and french restaurants the food was very good and, more importantly, hot. In the other ones the food was usually lukewarm, not hot. The rooms were ok, a little tired but clean. Some of our linens had rips in them and stains on the duvet. The staff was great and Fabian the swim up barkeeper was great. He remembered what you liked to drink  [... read more]and had it real for you. The adult only section was ok but there was only about 15 feet from the family rooms. It was ok but you could hear the kids sometimes.

Hotel was great clean rooms were big pools were well kept staff was friendly and lots of activity for kids and the shows at night were great kind all downfall was the food left alot to be desired but the ice cream parlour was great and my kids loved it

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent resort

This resort was amazing! Friendly staff, excellent service, clean, only small distance to the beach. A la carte dinners are of great variety and were amazing. If I had to pick something to improve I may say night time entertainment could spruce up a bit but it is an adult only resort so quiet may be favoured by some.
