Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Relaxing vacation!

We enjoyed our 10 day vacation April 28 to May 8 at Acquamarine. Our room was clean and spacious with a king bed on 3rd floor. We like top floor for the quiet location but you must take the stairs. We had hot water and clean towels daily. Surprised to find that there is no liquor provided in the mini bar fridge (pop and water only) and no slippers or robes provided now. The food could have been more variety but there was always something to satisfy you at the buffet. The al la cartes were very g [... read more]ood for the most part. The pool was lovely and clean. The beach area we took a shuttle to get to but you could walk there in 8 mins or so. Beach chairs were plentiful although you sat at the back if you went later in the morning. The drink servers there were friendly. The bar was just at the back corner very handy if you preferred to get up and order your own beverage. Ocean water was refreshing (although a little "seaweedy") but can't really control that. The drinks were good. Good brands of vodka and rum.However more well known brands of scotch, whiskey, liqueurs you have to pay extra for (Chivas, Black Label Glenlivet, Drambuie, Kahlua, Grand Marnier etc.) The entertainment at night was hit and miss but something to pass the time. The weather was sunny and warm with a light breeze most days so we were super happy to be there then. Perfect no, but relaxing and enjoyable to be pampered by friendly, courteous people if you don't sweat the little things.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

The resort was great. The grounds are always kept clean and grass was always cut and watered. At night the grounds looked beautiful with the lights and you can see where your walking to. The staff was very attentive and always there when you needed something. We had the swim out room which is a new feature at the resort and it was an amazing thing to have because the pool closed at 6:00 pm. Great touch.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Another Great Vacation

April 2019 We just returned from the Grand Palladium Punta Cana and had a great vacation. We have been to this resort several times and each time we return it is amazing the changes and most for the better. They are constantly updating this resort. The lobby of the Punta Cana was totally redone with new furniture, the room was renovated, new restaurants, wifi on the beach and many new cabanas on the beach. If there was one thing that I would say was negative was the reservation system for the Japanese restaurant, they only took reservations a day in advance and they started at 7:00am you could go there at 7:10am and it would be full, they give the reservations to the Travel Club. All of the other restaurants no problem getting in. On the topic of the Travel Club, I observed these representatives in the lobby several times and they hit upon the guests as soon as they get off the bus to check in. Most of these people have no idea what they are talking about they are all excited about starting their vacation and these people hit them up and hit them up hard and don't want to take no for an answer. The staff at this resort are very friendly and work hard. The food is very good, alot of selection and variety, something for everyone.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

The Hotel was clean and very nice. The food was amazing, a lot of seafood, which you don't get in most hotels.and the people were amazing, helpful and very friendly. I will be staying at this Hotel from now on when I travel back to the Dominican Republic in Puerto Plata

Excellence El Carmen: Fantastic Trip

We absolutely loved everything about our trip. The staff were amazing, the reception group, servers, cleaners, groundskeepers, and animation team were all wonderful. The layout of the hotel grounds was very convenient, all amenities seemed to be very close to each guest room building complex. The beach was expansive and incredibly well kept, likely one of the nicest beach locations in the Dominican. The Excellence brand continues to impress, the staff put an emphasis on customer service. We will be returning And a big thanks to our travel agent Carol Webber, we thank Joanne for the referral to Carol and we now have a travel agent for life! Carol looked after everything for us and was there to answer any questions in a very prompt and courteous fashion. Carol has personality plus and is definitely in the right profession.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Loaded with fun!!!

The hotel / resort was amazing! Everyone was very nice to us and accommodating. There were activities all day long and the night life was just amazing. I've been to many resorts, and this is the first resort with so much going on. We just loved it.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Best resort

Overall the hotel was amazing especially the view & all that. When it comes to the food. OMG! That was finger licking good. The people on the resorts( bell boy, waiters, etc) were all nice people. The wifi is the only bad thing about the resort. It’s terrible. Nevertheless I had a grand time One more thing. They need more English speaking persons working on this resort.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: The beach was great

Best part of Emotions is the beach (in my opinion). Standard rooms at Emotions are nice, only complaint is that there is a loud echo throughout the buildings that carries the noise of everyone and every door closing. Staff there are very friendly and the food is good. All in all a nice place to visit. They also have an alternative for the late night crowd who aren't fans of the disco... a North American style bar with pool table and table soccer :)

Riu Republica: Fun resort

Big resort, Lots of restaurants and bars however I would bring my own liquor down ... they water down there liquor. At first arrival, our room was extremely hot (Ac was turned off), sheets were stained, found lots of hair on the bed/couch, found a roach/lizard in the room(this is kind of inevitable) but first impression was awful. We got our room switched; and the second room was much better from our last room (Pretty standard, nothing special). Food was good at the Italian restaurant and steak [... read more]house. Buffets were basic but better some days than others. Didn't get sick once, but we did avoid eating certain food (salads, fruit that didn't have a peel, raw veggies). Overall nice resort, most staff have trouble with English so there was a language barrier. Resort seems to be a destination for spring breakers, if your looking to party, it's the perfect resort.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Nice resort!

Rooms are average, and the beach is ok. Sand is nice and clean, but the water on the beach is dirty. The main pool is also cloudy and dirty. The staff at the resort are very fun and they make it the best it can be! This was my second time back and i would definitely go again. The new adults only section looks beautiful!! I would love to stay there next.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: The usual great time

Back from two weeks at the VIK. Met familiar staff and many friends from our previous 4 visits. Beach is great and our oceanview third floor room in building five was exactly what we wanted. Quick walk to the beach and plenty of plapas open each day down near the Pelicano club. Sails with Andre on the catamaran and available snorkel gear add to the fun at the beach. Warm water and quiet beach for us to toss a football on. Rooms are clean and cool with an immediate supply of hot water for showers. Cleaning staff are friendly and efficient. Room is a bit on the older side but so are we. Food is fine with plenty of variety and theme nights. Breakfast is fun when you stop for eggs and enjoy the chef, who quickly gets to know you and your order. A great character and lots of fun. Didn't see much of the entertainment so can't comment and never sit at the pool. The drinks are a a bit thin but again we bring our own Scotch so no concerns. Beer is fine. A la carte restaurants are good as well but mostly stuck to the buffet and the pizza and burger bar. Chicken at the burger bar is excellent and no easy to pack for a beach picnic.I love the Vik but really could do without the Cayene vultures. Most are fine and leave you be once they see the return silver bracelet but there always sems to be one who is just too pushy. I understand the necessity of booking the place but don't ruin a day by making me resort to rudeness to get someone to leave me alone. Still a minor irritation in a very wonderful time. walk the beach in either direction and barter at the markets and play with the beach dogs. Next April will be our sixth trip back I am sure. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: decent resort

This was our 12th visit to Gran Ventana little has changed since day one. We were upgraded to a jr. suite but they are not like they used to be rooms are comfortable, however balcony door wont lock we were on the 3rd floor so didn't worry about it. Maid kept room very clean but are in the room toooo much. The buffet is decent but has never been changed up a lot of fruit is often covered in fruit flies and We are beach people but the pool is clean and well used. This year the wind blew lot the sand was actually drifting didn't really mind it wasn't snow lol. But being end of April into May the resort isn't full and the local people come in on weekends and they literally take over buffet look out. This happened 2 weekends while we were there and our service defiantly goes down when the local people are there. All servers are very friendly with or with out tips but I enjoy giving sneakers and ball caps are favorites. The entertainment is the worst I've ever seen at any resort is any countries. This is a family resort and entertainment is usually sex based and not even good at that. All in all co.mfortable and relaxing

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing vacation @ Esmeralda!

We had a fabulous time at the Esmeralda! Everything was so convenient - the beach, the buffet and restaurants! The staff was so accommodating and helpful. We arrived late in the evening and the front desk was fast and courteous and concerned if we were hungry and quick to point us in the direction of the buffet as it was getting ready to close for the evening! I would go back in a heartbeat!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Absolutely wonderful

The hotel was beautifully decorated.Very modern. The room was equally as nice. Our king size bed and the bedding was rich and luxurious.The buffet was the best.We ate our breakfast there daily.The beach was so beautiful,but we spent most of our time at the pool where we met so many new couples and enjoyed their company.Our dinners were to die for.Never before have we had meals that we completely enjoyed.The waitresses and waiters were so very attentive that I still miss their pampering.Our maid  [... read more]was Ruth was also so good to us and so efficient.We absolutely enjoyed our vacation!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing resort!!!

Big resort but never felt overcrowded. Beautiful resort. Everything was clean and modern. Lots of great a la carte's to choose from. Food was amazing. Always was able to find a chair either by the pool or the beach. The staff were great and very friendly. I would definitely return!!!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Good property

Great hotel and wonderful maid service. Food was ok. Seemed Friday and Saturday we were in a different resort. The new group of men that came in for the weekend were constantly harassing girls including my daughter. She was unable to walk or even sit without feeling uncomfortable. We heard worse stories of sexual advances occurred with younger girls. The bar service became really poor if you were not pushy as the bartenders did not try to service in any order. Paradisus Punta Cana: Fun resort

We had a 4 night stay. Thank goodness we decided to upgrade to Royal service. We ended up in building 1 which is situated very central and right at the beach. The food was just ok but as a royal service guest we were entitled to eat in La Palapa which we really enjoyed.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Fantastic Resort

Very clean, the service perfect, the food was excellent and the fruits was always very fresh. I travelled alot and I think this hotel was in the best I visited. I was with my mother of 83 years old, and she really enjoy staying at that hotel also. Thanks Iberostar for everything.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Average resort

Average resort. Did not think it earned 5 stars. Resort was outdated. Housekeeping required specific instructions to complete tasks. After 11pm only bar open is at the disco which is 3 minutes down the road. Lobby bar is not even open. Inconvenient when you just want to stay in lobby and play games/chat/ watch tv.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Not As Expected

The resort wasn’t exactly as we thought. The rooms were sub par, and service was meh. We asked for more water on multiple occasions and we only ever got 1 bottle, sometimes not even restocked. We were constantly haggled but people around the resort and the workers on the resort, and even had my rings stolen from the room. Luckily the pools and beaches were amazing and the weather was incredible to make up for it.
