Catalonia Riviera Maya: Fair resort for the price

We stayed here from December 18th through 25th. Nine people, 5 rooms. 2 privileged suite rooms, 3 privileged superior rooms. One of the privileged suite rooms needed the A/C fixed and it was dealt with fairly quickly. One of the 3 privileged superior rooms had a non functioning toilet that did not get fixed and the couple was finally relocated (twice) on the third day to a room that the A/C was called about daily. The food was good both at the buffets and a la cartes, service was excellent.  [... read more] The Bloved restaurant was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We snorkelled right at the resort daily and it was good. We did the excursion to Tulum and cenotes with snorkelling and lunch included and really enjoyed the knowledge and humour of our guides (BestDay.com tours). Unfortunately, there are not even close to enough beach chairs anywhere, not at pools, not at beach, not at privileged pool or beach. Overall we enjoyed the resort, pools and rooms were clean, food and drinks were good and plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Riu Emerald Bay: Riu Emerald Bay

The new portion of the hotel is beautiful, housekeeping staff in our room was top notch! Great food in all restaurants. We spent most of our time on the beach and loved every minute of it. Thank you !

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Not that great

The beach front was very dirty and not well kept.. There was nowhere to snorkel out front, due to the bad visibility..And when Becky hurt her hip and was unable to go on the excursion, the kept the whole $130 American she paid to them... 👿 Not impressed with this place at all...

Barcelo Karmina: Excellent Resort

The grounds at Barcelo Karmina are very well kept and beautiful. We also enjoyed the many iguanas that were often in the trees or having a "swim" in the pool. It was nice to see the water in the pools was checked as well as leaves removed daily. Our favorite was the Adult Pool. We must mention our pool waiter Daniel Hermandez, as his friendliness, and service was excellent.He definitely made our stay enjoyable. The dining was good. Our favorite was the Capri Grill. The Christmas Eve outdoor buffet and celebration was beautifully done. Such a great selection of food . The rooms are excellent. Lovely view of the grounds as well as the ocean. Sure nice to have two bathroom sinks. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Would be nice if the staff in general spoke more English. Many try hard, but some speak or understand little.We booked mentioning it was a 70 th Birthday. Some recognition of this would have been nice. This was our second vacation at Barcelo Karmina. Hope to return.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Unforgettable xmas vacation

The resort was amazing so many activities for the whole family and well looked after on a daily basis. The food was plentiful and so many different options.loved the omelette station for breakfast and the Italian Al a carte was delicious. Beach and pools were amazing and always lots of beach chairs available. My only negative was the beds they were very firm could do with new mattresses as this is what a lot of guests were saying. Samba Vallarta: 3.5 star hotel

You get what you paid. Limited food selection Dirty room Smelly hotel entire Service was ok Beach is close to the hotel 90% is local people Location is ok, you can take buses to go to downtown Not many activities to do

Samba Vallarta: Wonderful place

I like that Samba is a smaller resort. It has a more family feel to it. The grounds & pool area are very well maintained. All the staff go out of their way to accommodate you. There was always a great variety of good food at each meal. You must try the specialty restaurants at least once

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Spot / Excellent Service / Thumbs Up!

We just returned from family vacation to Occidental Costa Cancun. No complaints! Excellent service during the week...we loved our week away at this resort. It is our third trip to Barcelo brand in Mexico...alway been great...we trust it. We all feel we got our monies and suns worth during our stay. Rooms are a bit dated but super clean and beds were great. Our kids 19/16 had their own room but was a bit away so asking to put us side by side...accommodated without issue...again awesome! Th [... read more]e lobby bar and seating great spot to relax before dinner or going for shower. The shows at night were fun to watch even my teens enjoyed dancing with Aladdin. Brandon and the entertainment crew around the pool made it tones of fun, water volley, bingo and even a visit from the grinch! He is a mean one at times. Louis at the buffet greeting us with a smile...buffet with themes each day, great food...even the micro buffet opens around 5am if you have a day trip. The beach is smallish and limited sun (before noon) vs pool all day. Shallow and would great for little kids. We preferred the pool area with chess and ping pong and the teens in pools all day Small downer I suppose is...pay for wifi...is that really it? I guess so but put those devices in safe and soak the sun and family time. These days go by fast!!!

TRS Yucatan: A resort that is worth it to be visit.

This was our second visit. What a great facility...did not disappoint us. The rooms were beautiful, very elegant and modern. Our butlers ( Lisbeth, Alejandra, and Christopher) in vila 60 were very helpful and nice. They prepared a surprise for our 35th anniversary. We were very impressed by their kindness. The private beach was really nice with great Cabanas and service. The bars' service and the drinks and cocktails were fabulous with high quality. The Chic show was amazing. We were so i [... read more]mpressed by the talented dancers and signers. This show should not be missed. We want to say Thank you to Marcus and Ramiro from the Helios restaurant. They made every day so special with their great service and kindness. We highly recommend Gaucho restaurant. The food was excellent. Special thank you to chef David "Panda" and our weather Arturo. The Italian restaurant was great, as well. Definitely we will go back to this resort.

Wyndham Grand Cancun: Amazing beach and resort

The beach was outstanding and the al la cartel restaurants were very good with many choices. The staff were very attentive and there was plenty of available staff. The grounds were well maintained and clean.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort

Beautiful grounds and buildings. Many lovely pools and amazing staff. The food is second to none. The room service impossible to reach and slow to restock the water. Very minor glitches and would happily return

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Christmas Holiday

Took my teenage daughter to this resort . The grounds are well kept. We found this resort had a lot of couples with young kids . This is a perfect family resort . If you are looking for R&R this is the resort Not much in way of entertainment at night tho. The staff is very friendly . We ate at two of the speciality restaurants ( Thai and Mexican ) and we enjoyed both. They have room service definitely take advantage of it.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Went Beyond Our Expectations

This resort rocked! From the roomy beach to the amazing g room with private balcony and hot tub overlooking the lazy river I. Building #7 we thoroughly enjoyed living like rock stars for our stay. One suggestion would be the Sunwing rep pick up at airport was hard to find . More signage would have been great. Other than that truly a seamless trip!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Disappointing Resort

We were extremely excited about visiting this resort as the reviews were excellent. However, it, unfortunately did not live up to these reviews. We have travelled for 30 years and perhaps we have become too spoiled but we certainly expect good service at any 4 star resort. We booked with another couple and requested the same bldg but upon arrival were put in opposite ends of the resort. So, after discussions with 3 front desk staff, we were moved but had to wait until after 3pm the next day. The [... read more] day after that our toilet broke. 3 times through the week, we had to search for toilet paper as housekeeper was not replenishing. The same for shampoo, twice. We leave a $3us tip every day under the pillow but after 3 days we stopped. One positive thing I can say is that the beds are very comfortable. The buffet staff, other than Carlos in the a/c dining room ( who was excellent), left much to be desired. On Carlos’ day off, I couldn’t find a server so had to pour my own coffee. The food in the buffet was just ok. A lot of mushy weird looking casseroles. The beach was nice, seaweed was cleared quickly and efficiently, but there is quite a few rocky areas. I would recommend water shoes. The biggest disappointment for we Canadians is that there was no good Canadian rye whiskey. This resort didn’t even have Canadian Club which is pretty much a standard in most resorts but this resort only had LTD rye which is complete swill. The grounds are kept beautifully and the pools very clean. There is no way that this resort should be rated a 5 star, we could give it a 3.5. I would recommend to the managers to watch their staff in terms of customer service because as soon as your backs are turned work ethic stops. The couple we travelled with stayed at this resort 2 yrs ago and loved it which is why we elected to go this year, however with the mediocre food and the seriously lacking service, none of us would return.

Secrets Huatulco: Great resort

The rooms were awesome. We used the beach every day and the snorkeling was the best. Some of the warmest water we have encountered. All meals were very good as well as the service. Quiet hotel which is what we like. Need water shoes as the sand gets very hot. The only thing I would recommend is the hotel upgrade the beach chairs as the they are very worn.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Las palmas by the sea

Staff was very friendly. Nice beach area and the pool was great that one was adult only. The extra restaurants had very good choices and the buffet was great. The only disadvantage was the wifi did not reach the upper rooms in the corner. Overall the stay was excellent.

The Sens Riviera: Great family vacation

We recently returned from a one week vacation at Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort. While the resort was advertised as new when we booked, it is actually an older resort that was taken over by Sunscape. The food was good, although the buffet did get a bit monotonous by the end of the week, but that is generally the case with most all inclusives. We quite enjoyed the pizzeria and the Italian restaurant. We had booked an oceanfront room and were disappointed that there was no balcony and alth [... read more]ough the view is spectacular, the windows don't open, so no fresh air and nowhere to hang your clothes to dry. I would say that oceanfront is kind of a waste of money, unless you got a ground floor room which had a terrace that you could walk right out to the beach. What made the trip for us was the staff. Everyone was very pleasant, but as special shout out to Noeli at the Coco Cafe who made excellent specialty drinks and was extremely sweet to everyone. As well, Gerardo C. at the buffet also made the trip special by making an effort to learn our names and remember our drinks and also pay extra attention to our 9 and 11 year old kids. He always had a friendly smile when we came in. All in all, a great family vacation. We would definitely return.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Another sucessful trip to Puerto Vallarta

Just a short note to say we had a great time at the Hilton Puerto Vallarta. Yes, there were a few things that could be better (like most places) such as having a ping pong table and the drinks were a little light on alcohol content BUT these are small things. The Staff are this resorts biggest assets along with the food, nothing was too much trouble, service was great and the restaurants were great. We like Puerto Vallarta as a place to holiday in, we enjoy walking the historic streets of the to [... read more]wn and exploring all the nooks and crannies it presents. Getting around on public transport is great and this hotel is well located for taking part in our favorite holiday activities.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Exactly what we expected

I always read reviews before a trip so we are well informed and prepared. The resort was pretty much expected but we did upgrade our room a day after arriving. The supersaver room is super small with no balcony. We moved to building one which is the perfect location. No extras like blow dryers and ironing boards and an iron have to be requested. Resort was clean and was our room and the food in all the restaurants was super good. Always a lot of selection and tastey. I don't think we will return because it's just a busier beach than we prefer and the loungers are not at all comfortable. It will be interesting to see what the two new resorts will be like. We felt safe walking around town and in the area.

Tropicana Hotel: Better then expected

After staying over 30 times in all inclusive resorts in hotel zone our stay in Tropicana was a nice break to enjoy the old town area ,the atmosphere ,food, etc ., Hotel was just great....nice room. excellent view , bed good , a/c excellent, nice towels and facecloth's, hair dryer...
