Melia Varadero: Very clean and comfortable hotel

I have been to varadero 3 times this hotel is the best in cleaning rooms was amazing washroom in all areas all the time was perfect and clean we were too much happy except with the food the buffet was discusting only one of the ala cart restaurent was good the rest not great

Palma Real: Amazing location

This is a 3.0 star resort...It is okay, a little run down but what can you expect when you have crazy hurricane weather one day and then extremely hot sun the next!...The location of this Hotel is amazing!...you are connected to The Havana Club which is free for people staying at The Palma Real and is happening every night except Mondays and then they open a club called The Cave which is amazing also but a 15.00 dollar taxi ride there and another 15.00 back, also 10.00 per person to get in!...Th [... read more]is hotel is down the street from Calle 62 which is always a street party with entertainment and no charge, you continue down the street to a bar called The Beatles Bar and that is also free to get in with locals playing all old time Rock-n-Roll...Incredible voices for sure!!!...This hotel is across the street from the most beautiful beach there is and people from 5 start resorts taxi over to our side of the Island for this beach, apparently theirs is not as nice!...All in all it is Cuba and the food is bland but can be good with hot sauce...lol...bring your own!

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Amazing!

This was our first time at Naviti, 2nd time as a couple to Cuba and 1st time as a group of 6, and it was their 1st time. What can I say? I would definately go back! Part of this resort has recently been renovated and what a nice job they have done so far. We had our rooms at the beach club which was beautiful We had a partial view of the ocean and we left our patio door opened every night so we could hear the waves hitting up against the rocks. The burgers at this resort were pretty good and the ham and cheese sandwiches were the best for a midnight snack. The staff were unbelievable! We had two bartenders, Mario and Renaldo. They made the best drinks. From Pina Coloda's, Banana Mamas made with real bananas, Alexander to their signature drink called the Naviti. This was 2 of the men's favorites. They took very good care of all of us. We can't forget our servers in the buffet, Tanya and Yami, they would reserve us a table every time that they were working. They joked with us, laughed with us and made sure we had everything we needed while we were at the buffet.Couldn't ask for better. All of us want to go back to the same place next year. If everything is all finished being renovated we would stay at the beach club again, but if not we would stay above the main lobby as we did a lot of walking from our room, which was really ok, we were on vacation!

Mar Del Sur: Good value

The resort wasn't top of the line, but it was excellent for the price we paid. Perfect if you are not super picky. Food was much better than the last resort we stayed at which was higher rated than this one. The location is awesome so close to everything. You do have to walk about a block to the beach, but there is an all inclusive bar on the beach so doesn't really make a difference once you get there. Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing Bella Costa

This was my third visit to this beautiful resort, I can't say enough good things about it, food was wonderful, maid was fantastic entertainment was top notch, and although I know they have no control over it, the weather was also outstanding, there is and anywhere else in Varadero I would like to stay 👍

Hotel Bella Costa: More than what I expected.

I usually don't expect much from Cuba. I read all the reviews about this hotel before going there. The hotel is better than the pictures. and more than what i expected. The food was good. Usually the salad bar dose not include lettuce and its part of the decoration but I had salad every day with lettuce and there is always something that you can mix or create yourself. I loved the live band in the lobby at night. I went for 4 days and will do it again. If I want Las Vegas quality, I will go to Las Vegas. I will recommend this hotel

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful Place

This was a beautiful hotel, the beaches were so nice and the staff was wonderful everyone had a smile on there face and they were all very helpful. We had a great view from our room of the trees and a small view of the ocean these rooms were the garden view suits which I strongly recommend. We got to know the beach cook very well, loved the hotdogs! At the pool bar the bar tender knew what we wanted to drink as soon as he seen us. The breakfast was really good.My husband and I are pickey eaters so we had trouble finding things to eat for supper. The Cuba a la cart was good and also the entertainment on the resort was good too. Starfish Jibacoa: Relaxing, peaceful week

The grounds were attractive with the exception to the sea grass on the beach and in the water. The food was okay but the buffet could have been laid out better to minimize congestion. The facilities were clean and well maintained. For a relaxing vacation, it's a good place.

Playa Vista Azul: Week of relaxation at Ocean Vista Azul ((March 20-27)

We had a beautiful week of sunshine and relaxation. Check in was smooth and quick. We were surprised during check in with an upgrade to one of the bungalows with ocean view. The lobby was very nice with modern furniture. The infinity pool is beautiful and provides an awesome view of the ocean. Our room was very nice with similar modern decor and bright colours. Unfortunately we did not have the name of the maid but she kept our room clean and surprised us with very creative designs on our  [... read more]bed. Our maid was very honest as we left the safe open not once but twice, she left us a note on our door informing us why she could not clean our room but made sure to leave us clean towels in a bag outside our door. We seemed to be too late to be able to enjoy the small beach during the day as there were no lounge chairs available but we did enjoy the sunset at this beach. The larger beach is not as far as some reviews had indicated, less than a 5 minute walk. Your on holidays enjoy the walk and view. There were always huts with shade available, and the staff were quick to make sure lounges were available. Pool was nice, with a choice of being on a the quieter side or be were the activities were. Pool staff were always willing to move lounges and set up umbrellas if needed. Bar staff at both beaches, pool and by the theatre were always friendly and provided great service. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience with the lobby bar. We did not go with high expectations about the food after reading the reviews prior our trip as we knew we always find something to eat that we would like. Our biggest disappointment was difficulty finding a clean table especially at night in the buffet, it seemed that the staff was stretched very thin. The Italian a la cart needs some work on efficiency as we observed that there was people being informed that there was an hour wait yet there was 6 empty tables. It could possibly be that more staff are required. Excursions: Private guided tour of Havana, fantastic trip and would highly recommend if you truly want to know the people and culture of Cuba. Catamaran to Cayo Blanco, very professional and well done, much nicer than the catamaran trips in Punta Cana. Beach at Cayo Blanco is breath taking. One morning we jumped on the double decker bus into Varadero, we experienced the true meaning of "the bus is full." Nice morning strolling the streets of Varadero. Overall we enjoyed our vacation to Cuba and Ocean Vista Azul. We will be back one day but have other destinations to visit before returning.

Hotel Acuazul: Amazing beach

This hotel was clean and perfect for the needs I required. The food was ok the plumbing could use some work. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely go again.some of the staff was friendly some not so much.

Hotel Los Cactus: Nice resort, but a bit dated

The hotel is getting a little arthritic in its joints, but renovations are being undertaken and will no doubt bring this otherwise nice resort up from 3-star to 4-star. My room was clean and the view from the balcony of this Junior Suite was just terrific, with coconut palms and flowering bushes between the building and the the beach, the view of which was a huge plus. Two bars by the beach and several more in different parts of the resort made it easy to get a drink, and they were all free. The bartender at the Dunan bar made a terrific Mojito. The bathroom was clean, but could stand some renovation. The staff was friendly everywhere, but that's the nature of the Cubans. The maids who cleaned my room every day were very helpful and went out of their way to aid me with whatever I needed, including information about various things around the resort and the surrounding area. The food was pretty good, but then I'm not a fuzzy eater, so I was very satisfied with the selection available in the buffet-style restaurant, where I had most of my meals. There are three other restaurants catering to those who enjoy a more formal dining atmosphere The town of Varadero is a ten minute taxi drive away. There are many restaurants, bars and clubs there, catering to every taste and enumerable souvenir shops and stalls makes it easy to find a little memento from Cuba and Varadero to bring home. Frequent entertainment by small bands (con juntos) in the restaurants and bars made for a pleasant experience and for those who like it a bit more lively, there is the discotheque. All in all, I had a good time and will be going back again.

Club Kawama: Great resort!

My third time to this smaller, friendly resort. Staff are nice and helpful. Grounds are well kept and they are improving each year. Food was ok at the buffet. Not as good as previous years. A la cartes were great. Upgrade your room for a more pleasant experience, although there is lots of hot water.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Good for teenagers

It was fine for people who are not concerned with service. The hotel was a little older but clean and simple....beds could be a little more comfortable. Food was same everyday. Beach was beautiful, Entertainment geared to ages 14-25 no really good dance shows for adults. I was surprised at the staff, ive been to cuba 3 times and the staff seemed very overworked and unhappy. it was my sons and husbands first time in cuba and they did not see the local people as pleasant, helpful or happy [... read more]. The hotel was more of a party hotel and be prepared to walk because trollies were non existent. It was okay because cuba is beautiful but wouldn't go back to this resort.

Club Kawama: Good resort

Service is good. Hope the room Phone can work I wish the staff can clean the seegrasses on the beach I had two days no hot water shower and the room phone was not working The beach is very nice but need the cleaner clean the seegrasses will be better The food is good

Resonance Blu Varadero: Terrible experience

I left this resort after only 2 of my 7 day intended stay. I admit some of it may have been my fault for having higher expectations of a 3.5 star resort in Cuba but I was not prepared for the matress on the floor for a bed and the mold spots on my sheets. I was also disgusted by the cleanliness of the washroom facilities in the common areas and the in-room washrooms had their own set of issues - loudly running toilets that wouldn't stop, showers with no water pressure, bugs, etc. Food at the buf [... read more]fet seemed okay but never stayed hot and I'm fairly certain I ate rocks in my rice but the lunch place and the "24 hour" snack bar only offered disgusting hamburgers and hotdogs that I couldn't stomach. I also didn't find the staff very friendly or very fluent in English at all. The lawns and trees/shrubs seemed well kept but every fountain on the resort was broken and lots of things were in disrepair EXCEPT the pools - they looked fantastic. Very disappointed in the availability of water. We only got one large bottle in our room upon arrival and we didn't get a new one the second day (I think because my first one wasn't completely empty). You can't even get water from the front desk - they have to pass your request on to a maid to leave it in your room, and the likelihood of that communication system working seemed unlikely to me based on the rest of my experiences with staff. Definitely won't be returning to any Memories resorts as, since I've returned, I've heard they have a bad rep in many places. Also not impressed with Sunwing due to delays and being no help in trying to get home. Will thank my tripcentral travel agent though for trying her best to get us home when I was DONE with this resort.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Quite little resort

Really enjoyed the late night snack bar. Liked that the resort was just the right size that you did not have to walk forever to get to one end to the other. Great excess to the beach and the beach had plenty of lounge chairs.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Good value

The rooms were kept clean, we knew the fridge would be restocked every other day, but we still had to track someone down. Toilet paper was supplied in rooms but not replenished often at the public washrooms so u have to keep a roll with you. Al la carts were very good and the serving staff were very intensive. Wished the buffet would change up a bit. It was mostly the same food every time. Bartender rocked of course. Night entertainment had some good shows and some so-so shows. Blau Varadero: Fantastic Resort

Grounds were lovely, entertainment at the main bar and piano bar was amazing, and the food was great. The staff were exceptional! The rooms will need some renovation soon, but were comfortable and clean. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointed

Terrible service. We had to pour our own drinks a number of times because staff would just walk away. We went three days without towels or face cloths. We had numerous items taken from our room. We got locked out of our room and had to go to the lobby five times and waited two hours to get back in. Toilet seats were missing. We had a suite which is supposedly the best. We had a terrible view. No oceanview as we thought. Food was awful. Same everyday. Except Japanese. That was actually pretty goo [... read more]d. Beach was beautiful. Not worth it for me. Very disappointed and will not go back.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fabolus Resort

I enjoyed my stay in your resort. The crew of your resort were wonderful. I found the crew were always smiling and the people enjoyed them selves. I am looking forward to vacation again. it may sound difficult but perhaps you may want to include vegetarian dishes more in your menu.
