Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: A relaxing and Wonderful Vacation

The Hotel was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back. When we got there we did upgrade to the Club adult only section and had our own butler to arrange things for us. It also allowed us access to a sit down restaurant for breakfast an lunch rather than just the buffet. It was worth the extra money. The room was spacious and clean. We were there during the "slow" season so the resort was not crowded. Although the adjoining sister resorts appeared busier. I found the food quality to be much better than the All inclusives we have experienced in Cuba. The Buffet food was good and was replenished often. I Thought they put out smaller amounts to keep the items fresh. There were four themed restaurants: A steak House, French Gourmet Food, Italian restaurant and a Teppanyaki Restaurant. You needed reservations for the Teppanyaki and French Restaurants. I found the food to be better than the buffet. I enjoyed the meals at each restaurant. Of the Four the French Restaraunt was the most disappointing. Food was excellent but the portions small and I felt there should have been more of a selection. The Teppanyaki was very good although there was a menu were were not asked what wwe wanted they cooked all choices and you just indicated if you did not want to sample that particular item. There was no embellishment during cooking. We were going anticipating a "Benny Hanna Experience" where they flip knives, play with the food etc. There was little of that. It wa pretty much cook in front of you then go away. The Steak house was very good. Food cooked as ordered. THere were larger and smaller steaks. The T-bone was excellent and HUGE! My wife and I enjoyed the Italian restaurant the best. The wait staff was excellent and the food delicious and generous. The buffet at the Beach doubled as a Sea Food restaurant at night. My wife and I both ordered the Caribbean Lobster and found it a little over cooked. The appetizers and desserts were wonderful. They claimed two Sushi Bars. I found one at he Teppanyaki restaurant where you could just come in and sit at the Sushi Bar. How ever the "Sushi" was just different Maki Roles. California Roles, Salmon Roles, etc. They were Ok but I would have preferred a better variety and of course the other forms of "sushi". The staff was excellent. Now this may have been because it wa the slower season but I have a tendency to think not. They were friendly everywhere. OUr cleaning staff was efficient We felt welcome everywhere. We did not know what to do with the Butler. He kept asking what he could do for us. He arranged our reservations, had the room strewn with flower petals and drew the bath in the Jacuzzi for us on our anniversary. Arranged to get us Hats and Shirts from the Club. Arranged for a special meal and desert for us on our anniversary. I am sure if we could have thought of something else it would have been done. The Beach was clean. There was some seaweed but no broken glass or anything. The Cabanas and lounges were fine. I could see at high season where there may be a challenge to find a sitting place but not while we were there. There were some Beach Peddlers but they were kept to a minimum and they did not accost you. If you waved at them they would come but would leave you alone otherwise. The pools were clean and clear. We never made it to the main pool but stick to the adult only pools that were calmer and much more relaxing. We only went to one excursion to the Monkey Village. We enjoyed it but as with most trips it was probably over priced. Over all this was a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable vacation we wold not hesitate to go back there.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Overall good trip

While the room was a little dated, I have to say that the staff kept it clean and dealt with minor issues efficiently. The restaurants, pool, beach and hotel property were all very well kept. All staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. Overall it was a very good trip and would recommend this property to people with or without kids. If you are going to book here, pay the extra fee and upgrade your room, the upgraded rooms are beautiful.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Luxury Bahia a Principe Don Pablo Collection, Ambar Greesn- NOT five STAR

Grounds, common areas beautiful and well maintained, however, the food and most definitely the service diminish the five star rating to a big average three. Once past the beauty of the resort, you soon experience the lack lustre in the quality of the food. For example, Breakfast variety often cold, nothing was hot. Other than the coffee. Service staff with the exception of a very few were not welcoming, helpful nor efficient. More than not the language barrier hindered understanding. And, g [... read more]et this, we even experienced the rolling of the eyes! And were told on one occasion there was no coconut rum in a five star resort. The waitress actually could not be bothered to call to get a bottle restocked. Moreover, when my wife slipped in the bathroom due to the air unit leaking while we slept, not one staff member asked if she was hurt. They sent someone to fix it 25 minutes later. Using every towel in this so called five star bathroom to wipe up the water. Leaving us with NO towels until eight a.m. When house keeping went on duty. This occurred again the night before we left. This time I was the one to walk into the pool of water at three a.m. They came right away, again, using all towels. There is no consistency here in getting your concerns addressed. We will not be going back.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Wonderful Getaway!

My husband and I booked this resort for 4 nights to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved it!!! Everything from the food, beach, service, and friendly staff. We would highly recommend this resort for anyone who would like to get away to a fun, clean, and well organized place.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Not bad but likely won't be returning

Travellers info: Me, 40's female traveling with parents who are in late 70's. Parents have been here many times in past but due to some health problems could not go last 2 years. We flew out of Toronto. Flight (Sunwing): We flew with Elite Plus and sat in first row. I know the review is for the resort but I thought this was important to note. I don't know if you are a bigger person if it would be big enough and we could not lift the center 'arms' either. Food is purchase only. They did provide a drink (soft drink, water...). Resort: The set up of the Riu Palace Punta Cana is very nice! the grounds are lovely as well. Most staff are very friendly but you can tell they all want your tips. It adds up, so just something to be aware of. There are a few souvenir shops behind the towel pickup location. Wifi reception was a bonus. Could connect almost anywhere most of the time. The main negative was the NOISE. I could not believe how noisy people are, kids and adults yelling through the halls, moving furniture etc in the unit above us.. just at the wrong times for us.. but just no respect for others. Parents cannot sleep well and so this was very annoying especially at 2 in the morning! One night two ladies were chatting up a storm on the balcony next to us for hours and we were inside, all doors closed and we could hear everything. The music by the pool is EXTREMELY loud in the afternoon when the entertainment staff go full force with activities by the pool. Pool: as noted, very loud and very crowded. I never went in because people seem to be in there all the time with their drinks and never leave. No thanks! There is no quiet pool location at this resort like some others. Lots of kids at this resort as well so be prepared. Beach: Natural shade created by the beautiful Palm Trees, no huts. Didn't have a problem finding chairs on the beach. The water itself was not for me. But that's just me. LOL. It was wavy, murky and COLD. I much preferred the crystal clear calm waters of Varadero or St. Maarten. Food: Lots of variety but none of us found the food to have any flavour. But we may not have chosen the right things? At lunch we ate at the restaurant by the beach which is beautiful however the food is outside around the flies etc... I did not like that but it seems to be the way these resorts are. I wish they would come up with covered clear glass cabinets for the food like they have the ice cream in. Ice cream by the way is delicious in the Caribbean! the orange/pineapple is my fav! had it everyday. Can't comment on the other restaurants as we only ate in the buffetts. Overall - I doubt I would go back here.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Overall the best hotel we stayed

Check in took 3 hours and we did arrive at noon so it wasn't a pleasant start but the rest was very good. We didn't have a chance to watch the shows at night as we have a little one but the amenities are excellent. The best restaurant was the steakhouse for sure but even the buffet was excellent food. Beach was very weedy in March not sure if it's a all year thing. Resort is ridiculously huge and lots for kids all ages to do. Wi fi free only in the casino was a surprise for us since it's a 5  [... read more]star hotel but not a big deal for us Bedroom and the entire resort was very clean! Impressive! Overall was a very good experience. Would come back for sure!

TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Nice resort

Stayed at the resort for one week with my husband. This is a nice resort with almost every room facing either the ocean or marina. We had a swim out room and loved it. Hotel done a great job keeping the ground, pool and room very clean. We also enjoyed walking in the luxury village next door. Food is just average and definately not met our expectation. Services are not exceptional compared to other all inclusive in Punta Cana. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very good resort !

Very beautiful resort and well maintained. Staff is very helpuful and friendly. The food is also very good. The only down is that even is that even if ita forbidden in theorie, they let people "reserve" long chair making it hard to find a free spot in the shade (people put towel down as early as 7am and dont actually show up until late afternoon while you will be roasting in the sun cause all taken !!!!)

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fantastic resort

The hotel truly is Luxury. All facilities are great, the beach, the main buffet places, all the lacarte, the pools, The waiters, bartenders, cleaning ladies, guest service and front desk. All the other Bahias were beautiful and the trolleys service were excellent. Will definitely go again.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Beautiful

Myself and my two sisters just returned from spending a week in Punta Cana at the Iberostar Dominicana. We had an awesome time. The staff were wonderful. Food was great. The pool and beach was amazing, lots of chairs and space for everyone. We enjoyed our vacation and look forward to going back one day.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing Family Resort

This resort was absolutely amazing from the grounds to the pools to the amazing staff. The room was also very beautiful.This hotel was very clean and family friendly, great food and an amazing verity to choose from

Secrets Royal Beach: Secrets royal resort. Punts cana

The hotel was lovely, very clean, updated and very friendly staff. I found the evening entertainment to be amateur and the dance routines were very dated. Room service was excellent. We found the restaurants at the connecting hotel to be better than ours. Although kudos to the Japanese restaurant in our complex. It was entertaining as well as delicious.

Occidental Punta Cana: occidental punta cana owned by barcelo chain

we found the resort the perfect place for all expectations (sports, relaxation, fun ambiance,younger and older crowds mix very well. The rooms were perfect, the air conditioning smelling like fresh air . The service was more than good it was excellent. The hotel reconcile me with Dominican Republic . I had super bad experiences in the past at different resorts and believe me i am not a complainer on vacations. We sometimes have to expect some little difficulties its part of the game but thi [... read more]s resort is one the best place i have experienced... the variety of the buffet could be improved but if you get tired of it try their restaurants a la carte. Delicious! I totally recommend this resort and if somebody find flaws with this place maybe staying home is the best solution! Also big MERCI! to trip central for their dedication. Riu Republica: Second time around even better.

My wife and I have just returned from Riu Republica Punta Cana for a second time and the resort was beautiful. Although we were very impressed last June, the resort has made some significant improvements to the landscaping as well as service around the pool areas from providing drink service to your pool side chair to munchies and a variety of specialty snacks and drinks blitzes in the afternoon including a mobile ice cream cart which was a nice touch. The variety and quality of food has something for everyone's pallet including the hard to please. Thank you Riu for a great experience and to Miranda our booking agent for going the extra mile. Riu Republica: Beautiful resort!

I was very impressed with the resort. It's absolutely stunning and my room was very clean. The 3 pools were gorgeous, it had a white sandy beach and the ocean was an aquamarine colour. I was also impressed how much shade the resort offered around the pools and at the beach. The food was phenomenal and there were lots of choices. I found most of the staff to be quite friendly and they were definitely on the ball- making sure to clear your plate, fill up your water glass,etc. I want to give a shou [... read more]t out to Roberto who works in the dining hall. Roberto is a fabulous server, so please watch for him (they wear name tags). He's very nice! There were only two things I didn't like. The first thing is; we were only given two sheets to sleep with. There was no comforter so, I ended up sleeping with the terry cloth robe they provide you with in your closest, every night. Also, the pillows were small and uncomfortable. So, if you plan on going, bring your own pillow and wear warm pajamas. Other than that, I had an amazing time and would definitely go back!

Riu Republica: Our Anniversary Week at the Riu Republica June 5 to June 12, 2017.

Good points...food in the main buffet was superior. We stayed away from the ala cart restaurants. when we discovered most were buffet style including the Japanese. The only one that we tried with a menu was the steak house and the steaks were GREY. They were edible but not steak house style at all. Very clean, care takers always washing the tiles outside. Very big hotel, and getting bigger with new construction at the front of the hotel. Wait staff cater more to Americans and Spanish speaking guests . (not unusual I guess :) ) Some guests looked like teens and acted like them too. (not sure if the age is checked for ADULT hotel)

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It's beautiful and was one of the nicest all inclusive hotel we've stayed in. The rooms were great, clean/attended to daily.
