Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Amazing property...

We had a great vacation overall, I will break down the review in sections: Property: Was absolutely stunning. Was a very new property and was just beautiful and amazing. We booked a family swim up suite, and we couldn't have asked for more. The room was so clean, and modern. Everything was great. The pools and everything was clean. There was no trouble booking cabanas or getting chairs at either the beach or the pool, mostly a little hard to find one with an umbrella mid-day. Most of the pool bars are closer to the beach area so we had to walk quite far to get a drink during the day, but still, amazing property overall. Food/Restaurants: Unfortunately, I'd say this was the lowest point for me... the meat at the buffets were too dry most of the time, and my 2 year old son who usually loves to eat, would barely eat anything at all except the fruit pouches they provided. He for some reason didn't even find the fish and chips/chicken fingers or fries appealing... I didn't enjoy the food much. The fruit was good, and fresh, however, nothing else was super impressive. The white beach party was great, the food was amazing that day, nothing was overcooked and was very good. We really liked the food in Mexico better at Azul Fives. The Space restaurant was really cool and neat. The buffets offered during lunch were very unimpressive, and nothing I looked forward to eating. We asked to book restaurants the 2nd day we arrived (we arrived at 3pm in the afternoon so unpacked and settled in first) and by that time, we couldn't get any restaurant reservations until the last 2 days of vacation, which actually might be a blessing in disguise... We had the Italian Restaurant the day before we left and I had a terrible case of food poisoning as soon as I got to the airport. I'm not sure if it's from the restaurant, or something else I ate at the resort... but it was absolutely the worst thing ever, considering the heat and being dehydrated from not being able to keep down water with two toddlers in tow. I also asked for avocado (just plain b/c my toddler wasn't eating) and apparently the searched the resort for 4 days straight (b/c I tried to get some every day) and they don't have any avocados there which I find a little weird... As for drinks, I'd say this place was very lacking on the drinks offered, and the knowledge of some of the staff on how to make drinks. I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri twice, and ended up with a Margarita. My husband ordered a Caesar and somehow ended up with beer in it once, and then the second time it was made from Gin... The bar on the beach and at the beaches or pool bars were fine, it was moreso if you ordered anything at the main buffet... They also only had (very) bottom shelf selection of alcohol. They didn't even have Stolicnaya Vodka or Disaronno. They had some Margaritaville brand and Absolute. Again, we much preferred the drinks in the Mexico Property. At the coffee shop, I'd order the same thing everyday and it came out tasting different every time. It was great the first time, and then never again. They had several things on the menu which they couldn't make bc they didn't have ingredients for it, ie. Matcha green tea, soy, and some juices. They 'ran out' of soy for 5 days... and mid-day they had no apples for juice... someone ordered the wrong thing in front of me and they said it was what I wanted... I asked if it was a Caramel Machiatto and they said yes... no, then added about 1/3 a cup of syrup and said it was what I wanted and to try it... it tasted like water for some reason and she said it shouldnt, and and after a bit of back and forth she made a new one. Child-friendliness: was amazing. The playhouse was great, we dropped our 4 year old here once a day for 2 hours, and this was the favourite part of her trip!! They also had a play (theatre) show at 7:30pm each night where families go and watch a show, there's a bar in the back (of course) for the parents, and they did a bedtime story there too. Kids of all ages enjoyed the show (1-15), it was great. They also showed a movie in the courtyard and served either popcorn/cotton candy every night, which was amazing b/c the kids loved it as well. Great resort for kids. Service: I'd have to say service is very mediocre here. There were a few people who were great, and we liked their service a lot, but I'd say 70-75% of the people didn't really make you feel as welcome as you would at a lot of the other all-inclusive resorts we've been to in Dominican or Mexico. I will specifically mention the bar server at the beach Jose Luis was really amazing. He went above and beyond any expectations I had in any resort. B/c our room was far from bars, and I was returning back to the room, I wanted to get drinks for myself and husband to bring back to the room - I was going to try to carry 4 drinks back myself (which i have done before), but he insisted on helping me out b/c he loved to be helpful. I know a lot of people will ask for you to write a good review of them on their site, but he never asked at all. He just went above my expectations for amazing service and I wanted to (hopefully) give him recognition for it. Cleanliness: The rooms were great, the outside property was maintained amazing, however, the high chairs weren't very clean, as well, we found a lot of the dishes were actually quite dirty. You could go to the buffet and ask for a bowl, and someone would bring you one and then wipe it down randomly with a cloth on the counter... and if you looked at it, it would be dirty with fresh food on it...The tables a lot of times at the main buffet were sticky - the first night we got there and sat down, my hand felt like it touched syrup... I really wasn't impressed with the cleanliness at the buffet. For the price we paid for this resort I'd expected more. I still have to say that overall we did have a great vacation... of course minus the food poisoning part but wanted to be very thorough with the review....

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Great resort

A great resort, amazing staff. Nightly entertainment was alright. When we were shown our room, our jaws dropped. Our room faced a construction site. Workers, noise and dust all day. No mention on website. Very disappointed.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Nice resort

The grounds were in well kept condition. Beach was big with plenty of spots to sit. Room was nice and clean. Pool was big and spacious for all people. Only negative was fair distance to beach area. Other then that it was a good spot.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Great trip!

My husband and I just came back from a week at Breathless and it was fabulous. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we had the best time. The beach was great and clean. No fighting for a beach chair. The entertainment staff were great, friendly and talented. The food was top notch. Loved the fact that we didn't have to book a la carte dinners and there were options every night, including the resort next door. Everything was clean and modern. We would love to return soon!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

Beautiful resort, I would've liked it to have elevators for people with disability and no seaweeds at the beach but I would recommend it to my friends and family. The surroundings are impressive like the pool area at the Amber Green, I found it very romantic!

Riu Republica: RIU Replublica

Nice clean and modern resort. The grounds are well maintained the food is excellent and the overall feel is relaxing. Friendly staff and a nice boutique style shop is on the property. The free WIFI is a bonus and there is an excellent selection of modern alcoholic beverages

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: As expected

After reading multiple reviews on various web sites we had a good idea what to expect. The resort is well laid out, the facilities are new and well done. This property is small compared to most all inclusive places we've been to. Service was good not great as was the food. Resort shares with nicolodeon which didn't have any effect on us, kids were around - so what. We liked that most of the patrons were from the UK, found similar levels of politeness to us Canadians.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Family Vacation

We have 2 families spent 5 days vacation on this resort. The food was great and room was average. Beware of staff wearing yellow shirt and they eating your time to get you H10 membership or timeshare. All ala carte restaurant are priority with H10 members and we waited for 2 hours before getting a table. The toilet flush was broken and keeps promise to send someone to fix, but no one show up. My family went in Cuba last year the beach was so beautiful, clean and clear water and I can't compare to this stinky dark ocean. This is our first time to dominican republic, and would not definitely going back to OCEAN BLUE RESORT. I would not recommend this resort to my friends or anyone.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Good resort

Good hotel for the money. Good beach area great staff. The pool is terrible way to small for the amount of people. Water is never crystal clear in any of the riu ressot pools I have stayed at. Construction was our view from the room. This should have been mentioned.

Grand Bavaro Princess: great resort,

we loved the resort all was good. except when we got there are luggage didn't get to our room till three hours after we did , and that was after calls to desk . when it came it looked like someone riffled thru my bag , shaving kit was emptied in bag and watch missing. then when leaving we brought our bags to front gave bellhop ticket . we get on bus to airport when we arrive no luggage, the sunwing reps got on phone and got them there . she was great . but upon arriving home my shaving kit was m [... read more]issing , along with all jewelery that I purchased there. the resort was nice , the guest were without manners. rude and poorly dressed for dinner at ala carts

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: amazing resort

I found the property is amazing. Really enjoyed the entertainment at the Lobby in the evening. Will go again..... had a great family vacation. The staff/service were great. The resort will need to improve the beach towel service. Not enough towels and the staff kept giving us dirty/used ones. This is my 5th time at Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Found the food quality has declined from my last visit in 2015. My first visit the food at Punta Cana Resort was amazing with a variety of c [... read more]hoices daily. The food at the buffet Amber Blue was always the same, and no live entertainment during dinner.

Occidental Caribe: Not impressed

The beaches were stunning, strong currents so had to be cautious when going in water. The resort it self was certainly disappointing. Had an upgraded room and have no idea what was upgraded. Water trickled out of shower. More pressure in the sink tap. Beach towels and room towels were an issue, never knew if you would get them. Fridge never stocked from day to day. I would not recommend this resort.

Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort

This is my second time at this resort. It is so nice and clean. The staff are wonderful and entertainment staff are amazing. Definitely will go back. Overall amazing vacation and friendly people 😉 from all parts of the world

Riu Palace Macao: Amazing Resort

Was a little sceptical about going back to the Dominican republic but really loved this resort the food was amazing and the staff were freindly and helpful. We did have one issue with our room it extremely noisy our room backed on to the Rui bamboo wich is under construction lots noise early morning and late at night ,the second day we complained and with in our third day the up graded us free to a better room excellent customer service made our vacation great!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good resort for adults

Beautiful and clean room but make sure request the room with garden or ocean view ,otherwise you will get construction view!!!! Food is good at the buffer with a lot of variety but not so good a la carte . The people are working hard at the beach to clean up the seaweed.!!! For the evening show you have to go to Barcelo Resort . The drink is good but the bar is closed too early ( 11 pm ).

Our time at Ambar Blue was memorable!! We will be back!! Thanks to the fabulous staff! Everything was taken care of and all our special request were met. Restaurants and beach were the best and service was great!!

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Awesome Resort!

My boyfriend & I stayed at Sensatori Punta Cana for one week June 14 - 21st 2017. Honestly, the hotel itself is amazing (as with all Karisma hotels) ! Very clean, modern the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff is incredible always happy and helpful and the food was delicious. Food: We ate in the a la carte restaurants for all our dinners and they were all tasteful (you have unlimited a la carte dinning so you don't have to eat in the buffet if you don't want to). The 8 course tast [... read more]ing menu at K23 was very interesting and super fun (all included!). You also have free room service. Beach & Pool: The beach was well kept and cleaned daily. The water was a perfect temperature, but keep in mind it is a little rough and wavy. There were always chairs available at the beach. The chairs by the pool however were all taken by 8:30 - 9 am. We're beach people so we didn't mind. Plus they're so close to each other it was easy to travel between both Entertainment: Pretty good! We caught a couple of shows in the theater which we enjoyed, there is also stuff going on in vino vino bar after the show. Everything closes around 1 am so its not much of a party resort which we knew before booking, we weren't looking for that. If you're into sports, they have soccer, tennis and archery fields at the sports hub by the water park. You can take a golf cart there :) Sports matches are arranged by the entertainment team. All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back! I wish we stayed longer!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: génial !

L'hôtel Bahia principe blue est très bien situé, surtout près de la mer. Aussi, il y a plusieurs endroits pour aller manger. très bon lit, piscine agréable, chambre un peu froide - impossible de régler l'air climatisé. personnel très gentil. bon service à la clientèle. problème pour le changement des serviettes de plage.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Beautiful Punta Cana

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro - 3/5

The hotel grounds were very well-kept and clean. The food was okay (nothing too spectacular but there was a good amount of variety). The beach was alright--been to better in other places in the Caribbean (Cuba, Jamaica, etc.). The pools were pretty great though so that helped...The room was clean, housekeeping was extremely professional and nice and really did her job with care. The service, however, that is where 5/5 stars are unfortunately, not present. While there were a few members of the s [... read more]taff that really stood out and did their jobs with care, we had experiences with a few that were outright rude or were unhappy if you didn't tip them the amount they deemed to be correct. We had trouble getting basic service at times (at the buffet especially) such as not having spoons or cutlery or the servers would ignore us to take long to assist--that kind of thing with the exception of a few. Tips: get towels early in the morning (8 am) as they disappear quickly and if you want a comfortable spot at the beach with shade, be prepared to arrive early in the morning as well ---this "conglomerate of resorts within one place" is huge and finding beach chairs is virtually impossible. All in all, while the resort itself was well-kept and had a lot to offer, I'd probably try elsewhere next time.
