Riu Republica: Exceeded our expectations!!!!!

Our trip to Rui Republica Punta Cana was amazing! The staff was amazing and had no issue moving us closer to the beach right away as soon as we requested it. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was always friendly and willing to assist with any requests. There’s definitely no shortage of food or drink options. We can’t wait to go back ASAP!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Bahia ambar

We loved this hotel, we had a swim up room. It was beautiful. Big rooms, although lack of hooks to hang towels. Close to pool beach, coffee shop and most restaurants. There are actually seven resorts and you can use all except Fantasia. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Food depends on your taste but you can always find something. We did get a few mosquito bites so beware if you are pregnant. There is a lot included at this resort. People are great, friendly. All recently renovated in ambar. Can’t wait to go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort

We stayed at the Esmeralda. Rooms were clean. Room was close to the beach, buffet, pools, and lobby. Staff was great. Very friendly. Buffet, and a la cartes were really good. Hotel was nice and clean.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Excellent resort

5th time there. The renovations are amazing, this should be a 4 - 4.5 star resort now. 7 days of nice friendly staff and great food with warm sun and beach. Safe area to walk into town for shopping and see their market.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: amazing place, so much to do! A week in paradise!!!!!

Was totally amazing, Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, Food was amazing at the Buffet, MEAT restaurant was great, Not happy with the Japanese Tappenyaki @ Bavaro,No show,no flames, no flare, all he did was cook, food was ok but going to a Japanese restaurant is all about the experience, there was none ! I could go to any restaurant and sit in the kitchen and watch them cook. But that was the only complaint I had, The rest was fantastic, We went on the Just Safari Jeep tour,Horse ridin [... read more]g, zip lining,Lunch on the beach, all included in one tour. It was memorable!! Also the Boogie tour was so much fun.I love Ambar resort, So beautiful!!!, was our second visit, The entertainment on the pool deck was great, Micheal Jackson show was right on. almost like watching the real thing!!!!Will certainly return again!

Riu Republica: Rui Republica

The hotel was very well kept! The beach was beautiful and always groomed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All restaurants were amazing but the spanish restaurant was very slow in getting the food out. There were a lot of activities to do and the staff were always encouraging you to get involved. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Just to warn you a lot of young adults like to go to this resort!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

Very clean resort grounds, small resort that you could easily access all facilities, they even had wheel chair accessible area at the beach. Couldn't spend afternoon on the beach as wind picked up and felt like you were being sand blasted. Would recommend getting a garden view room if you're interested in a quieter room. Luckily we were able to use resort credits and extra cash to upgrade to ocean view room otherwise we would have been facing service buildings. Buffet and pool were very crowded on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a lot of locals .. perhaps empty rooms were rented out to locals??? Staff were out early on beach collecting seaweed that was washed up on beach. You typically had to go through approximately 1 or 2 feet of seaweed when getting into the water, although we usually found a path through it.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great vacation

This is the smallest resort we have ever been to. With a 5months old and a 5 years old, this was the perfect place for our first vacation as a family of 4 with the grand parents. We went during low season (beginning of may) so the resort was not at full capacity but everything was running except activities at the beach were limited Pros: check in was fast and exactly what we asked for when we booked. rooms had a communicating door with the grandparents that made it very convenient for us. We [... read more] had two rooms on the main floor close to the pool. Every thing is close, from the room to the pool to the restaurant to the theatre to the beach to the lobby. All is within 5 minutes from each other. Food was good and the 3 à la carte restaurants were nice and easy to book. Activities at the pool were fun and the pool is very nice and safe especially for younger ones (the shallow section was graduel like a natural beach). It was easy to find spots both at the pool and the beach. Snorkelling was amazing at the beach, lots of reef accessible and many beautiful fish Cons: Since the place is affordable, a lot of younger loud groups were there and made it less relaxing of a trip. I don’t know if it is because it is the beginning of hurricane season but the wind was very strong in the afternoon and we couldn't stay at the beach. However at the pool we could barely feel any wind so we did beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon. The resort got flooded with locals on the weekend and it got very crowded and loud. Rooms need updating and cleaning service would always take all towels at the beginning of the day and bring new ones only at the end of the day which was unacceptable but once we told them how annoyed we were they started doing our room early and replace our towels immediately. Before going i read many reviews about this place and i can agree with the majority who said that this place is home away from home.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Good time

Went for a week with my two daughters. We didn’t do any a-la-carte dinner but the buffet changed each night so there was a good selection (and always good for kids). Entertainment (day and evening) was good. The only thing that got annoying was constantly having people approach you asking if you want to do an excursion or get your pic or go to the salon. Staff was friendly but the language barrier was a struggle at times as quite a few don’t speak English. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Wonderful vacation

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Awesome Vacation

This was my 2nd visit to this resort, and I would definitely go a 3rd time. Had an absolutely wonderful stay. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The beach area was very clean (except for the seaweed). Our room was well cleaned every day, and the fridge restocked daily. My only recommendation would be that the restaurants have armless chairs available for people of larger stature (like myself).

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Nice resort

Service in restaurants and bars very good. The fan in our room did not work. Advised them of this 4 times and was told they would send somebody right over but nobody ever showed up. Resort very clean and staff friendly.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great resort

Nice room with a beautiful pool and beach view, close proximity to all amenities, friendly and helpful staff, great food, the Al La Carts wee awesome. Overall good experience. Would recommend to family and friends

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Wonderful time!

This resort may be small but it is all you need for the perfect little vacation! Food was great, Italian a la carte was personally my favourite, just opened a little later than the other restaurants, but that’s just more time to enjoy the beautiful beach while you wait! The entertainment team was great! Always doing something by the pool or the beach. The sales people on the beach were a little relentless but that’s to be expected. The foam party was super fun! Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very nice resort

It was very clean and the grounds were well kept. Beautiful beach . The staff were very friendly and helpful . We were not very impressed with the French a la carte or their staff . The food at the meat a la carte was not very good but enjoyed the others we tried .

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: This is not a 5* hotel ..compared other islands..

Service is very poor at the buffets and at the beach also..No follow up from the butler or anybody else...the cards to are had to be changed every second day oufff.The one thing that was good the food in a la carte restaurant.Breakfast was more then ordinary.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach: Worst Vacation we’ve ever experienced!!!!

The resort itself was nice with lovely gardens. Little town of Dominicus not far from resort.stayed in a garden view Bungalow that was pretty basic. There were 3 of us so we had two double beds. We had a mini fridge, however it was not stocked with anything. You do not have a coffee maker in your room either at least in the bungalows you didn’t! You receive 2 bottles of water in your washroom to brush your teeth with and drink, I am assuming, but as I mentioned there were three of us and it w [... read more]as not until I confronted the maid in person to advise her that there were three persons occupying our bungalow that she left us three bottles of water and three bath towels and hand towels. Also, they are very skimpy on the toilet paper so once again i had to mention to her we need more than one roll of toilet paper for three people or we will be using our hand towels!! We asked for wash cloths but never received them however I am always in the habit of bringing an old one from home as I know that it is hit and miss with receiving wash cloths so I like to have one with me just in case. So all three of us brought our own wash cloths!! Once I tipped the maid we started to receive a larger quantity of water bottles which we kept some of them in our fridge to keep them cold for when we needed a drink! Also started to receive quite a few more towels and rolls of toilet paper! The buffet was just okay. Nothing Special!! The snack bar by the beach was a joke and so was the pizzeria!! They had one guy making pizza for dozens of people. The drinks were awful!! Liquor was watered down and beer on tap was warm most of the time!! If you wanted a COLD PRSEIDENTE BEER you had to buy it! I didn’t book an All- inclusive to have to go the store and buy my beer!! The Mexican al la carte!! This was the best meal that we had! There was so much food so many courses, Quick Service and FRIENDLY WAITERS!!!! Having said that I will go on to tell you that every single waiter, bartender, anyone that you would encounter at this resort was RUDE, AND NASTY AND WOULD INGNORE YOU! (Outside of this Mexican Restaurant) No One cared about you!! The worst Customer Service I have ever encountered and I have been to the Dominican Republic well over a dozen times!!! A horrible Shame!! Even if you said good morning or hello! There was never a response back from them!! We speak a little bit of spanish, enough to get by and have never had any problems associating with people in the Dominican republic before, as we travel frequently and and have always had the best time dealing with the staff! Even workers that maintain the property! At this resort it just seems that the staff that are employed here are miserable and just do not like their jobs or to converse with the guests! It does not matter whether or not you tip them nothing seems to change!!! There were maybe 3 people we had dealings with that appreciated the tip and were naturally friendly!! We were at the La Roca Pool bar one morning and when the bar opened we went up for a drink only to find no glasses within reach of the guests however there were 3 trays of clean glasses stacked behind the bar but the bartender was too busy talking to another co-worker and ingnored us standing there until my husband called to him politely “Amigo” and then we tried to gesture that we needed a glass to drink as it is a self serve draft pump for beer, water and soft drinks, so all they need to do is provide you with Clean Glasses. It was at that time he angrily looked up and started to mimic us, gesturing back and giving us a dirty look while slowly walking over to the trays of glasses and then slammed down a tray on the counter and walked away! I was horrified of his behaviour and disgusted!! I don’t work hard all year and pay good money to come to a resort to be treated in this manor!! It is totally unacceptable behaviour!! I also noticed there are NEVER any Managers nor Supervisors around anywhere to keep the staff moving along and in line!!! Another thing that was so very unfair and frustrating was trying to get a drink at the main bars. They would not use the first come first serve rule. They would serve whomever they wanted whenever they wanted which would mean you could be standing there waiting for 10-15 minutes or longer for a very small pour that was usually warm (Beer) and that is if they had any available as there were many times they ran out and you had to wait a very long time for them to change the keg!! No one seems to know what they are doing! They are very unorganized and EXTREMELY UNDERSTAFFED, from what we could see! For a Viva Wyndham Chain we were very disappointed. I thought it would have been a much better experience. We attended the 25 al la carte restaurant on the last night before we were leaving.. One of the WORST al la carte restaurants we have ever been in. When we walked in no one was at the podium greeting you. A lady had kept looking at us standing at the front waiting to be seated, yet she ignored us and kept cleaning tables. Never once did she say “I will be with you in one moment” or any attempt at letting us know she will be over. We waited a very long time for her to come over and take our receipt and seat us. She handed us our menus before we even sat down at the table which was very unprofessional!! We sat down and a gentleman came over and gave us water. We looked at the menu for a little while and our waiter walked back over to take our order. He came over and leaned over the empty chair and asked us if we were ready and what we wanted….. AGAIN very unprofessional!! The food WAS NOT good. My daughter could not even eat her steak it was tough and full of grissle and fat. They also don’t give you steak knives…. they give you butter knives…. so good luck trying to cut your food!! We had seen that our waiter had been bringing out pink cocktails to ALL others tables that were seated AFTER US!! Once they sat down he would give them those drinks. When I called our waiter over to ask him what that drink was and if we were suppose to receive one he couldn’t even tell me…. he had to call over to another lady and ask her. She then said it was a cosmopolitan. When my husband and I confronted him and asked were we supposed to receive those? Because everyone else that has come in you have given them one. He then said “oh you want one.”? And put down one that he had LEFTOVER on his tray. Never offered to give my husband or daughter one!!!! When we kept asking him if he was supposed to bring us those in the beginning when we sat down he ignored us and kept talking and laughing with another waitress. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! After that encounter he ignored us the rest of the dinner. He never cleared our dinner plates, another waitress had to come over and do so. We waited and waited for our desserts to be brought out and they NEVER arrived so we got up and left! We went to the buffet so my daughter could eat something as she never did eat anything there and she was starving!!! We had great weather the week from April 27th-May 4th It only rained overnight when we were asleep so we did the best to move on and and tried not to dwell too much on the ignorance of our wait staff and we tried the very best to make the most out of our vacation. Would we return there NEVER!!! Would I recommend it NO!!! For the money we paid for this resort I would have expected first class treatment!! This was the very first vacation that we can actually say we couldn’t wait to get home from!!!!!!!

Riu Republica: Great Resort

The resort, rooms, and buildings were spacious and clean. The food was very good with variety and options. The fitness center could be larger and have more equipment. Smoking should be prohibited anywhere that food is being served. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Money Well Spent

This was our first couples vacation and this resort exceeded our expectations. The grounds well maintained especially the beach area. The staff were always cheerful, helpful and a joy to interact with. The food was good with various selections and the nightly shows were very entertaining. Our butler Jacob was top notch as he went out of his way to make our vacation experience magical. We play to return with our kids for a family vacations.
