Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Awesome vacation

We returned home April 24 from this beautiful resort. There were 6 in our party. Thank you to management for the attention to my email for our rooms. We required a W/C room and two rooms on second floor close to the beach! The rooms were perfect! Food was good and lots of it. Remember you are in Cuba. We enjoyed the El Jardin at lunch time. The beach is beautiful as well as the pools. Lots of chairs. We so enjoyed the seafood hut just down the beach called Macomba! Delicious seafood and great prices. We visited the beautiful Pilar beach on the double decker bus. The bus picks you up at the front entrance. If you require a w/c resort this one is very good. Hope to return!

Gran Muthu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort

This was mine and my husband’s 4th time at this resort it’s an amazing resort with amazing people that’s why we keep coming back to see our Cuban family the food was pretty good for Cuba the infinity pool amazing the beach we didn’t go but a short taxi ride to pillar beach which truly is the most beautiful beach this time we got to go into town to spend the night with our friends at there house had an amazing dinner with them

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: “ Cheap and Cheerfull with No Frills”

The best part about Cayo Coco is the beach. You will not go hungry here with limited options. You just have to find what you like to eat for the week and stick to that. Basic amenities are provided and staff are more than willing to try and meet your needs. Little to no night life if that’s your thing. Lenny’s is a great place to visit if you want to get off the resort. Bugs are a definite problem with no intervention to clear them out.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great Time But......

We have been to Iberostar's in Cozumel and Punta Cana and these resorts are one of our favourites. We were fully aware of the situation in Cuba and have no complaints about the staff who worked tirelessly to ensure we had a great vacation. The restaurant staff, bar staff and entertainment were amazing. We found the food repetitive but we knew that before going and were never hungry. Bring your own condiments!! Hamburgers were on the grill for breakfast lunch and dinner. The grounds were nice but severely needed water. Lots of walking to the beach, pools and restaurants . The staff at the beach always found us a chair, swept it off and brought us tables. The management was not accommodating for early arrivals and late check outs. Through they proudly display late check outs. It didn't happen. We were out of our rooms at noon with a 6-pm pickup to the airport. This resort is very remote, there's nothing around it and an hour from the airport and on the way back it was an hour and a half as we had so many pickups at other resorts. For some reason we were given the Assessability Room. Very different from the regular suites. We were not impressed. There was no tub, the closet and safe was in the bathroom beside the toilet and the sink had no room to even put your toothbrush. There wasn't a hair dryer I did request one from Guest Services but never got one. Thankfully we brought our own toilet paper as there were days we didn't get any.The view from our room was terrible, piles of dirt. If booking I would highly recommend the swim up suites. This Iberostar Coral Esmeralda was definitely not a 5 star. The swim bar and daily activities were at the Selection side but there was not enough chairs or shade around the pool. Lots of mosquitos and sand fleas, OFF did not work. I came home with so many bites. Wifi was hit or miss, always had to sign every time we used it. On the last day they disconnected the WIFI at noon.. And many Canadians gave loonies and toonies as tips which is worthless to them. Many times we exchanged the coins for bills to help out the staff. The beach and water were stunning.... I would not go back to this resort, too far the airport, too many bugs and the view from the room was the worst we had. Would we go back to Cuba yes!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Nice resort.

This resort was quite beautiful. The staff works hard at keeping things clean as far as the lobby and public bathrooms go. The groundskeepers really work hard at keep the resort looking nice with beautiful flowers and greenery. The 3 pools were sparkling and clean and even tho busy, there were lots of loungers to choose a spot. The beach was absolutely beautiful and nice and long for walking on. Staff overall was very friendly. The coffee bar in the lobby was amazing! We were very grateful we packed extra toilet paper as they were very stingy with that! We slept in the same sheets all week and used the same bathroom towels. Not the end of the world but even one change might have been nice???? There is a “lobster shack” a couple of minutes down the beach that is a “ must try”! Overall is was a very nice resort and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Really great time

As long as you have realistic expectations with what Cuba is going through you will have a great time. We went in with rock bottom expectations since this was our first time ever going to Cuba and we heard about all the shortages. That being said, we had an amazing time. The pools were great. I would recommend this resort to anybody and I think we had a much better time than I thought we were gonna have since everything exceeded our expectations. the only thing I would say is that this is a very quiet and relaxing resort, which is exactly what we were looking for. However, if you’re looking for loud music and everybody drinking all day and a big party probably isn’t the right resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Grand Aston is a 2 yr old resort on Cayo Paredon. The buildings are beautiful and kept very clean ; lobby, rooms etc. The staff do an excellent job looking after the facility. The pools are clean and refreshing, the beach is groomed every day and the water / swimming is excellent.

Melia Cayo Coco: Excellent return choice

Melia Cayo Coco was an excellent choice, we were a bit worried about supplies in Cuba in the difficult economic times but the resort runs as unaffected. Beach is beautiful and clean, Food is excellent, rooms are clean and getting continuous updates, grounds are kept very well and people are awesome.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great resort

We felt full and food was good for Cuba. We know the limitations in variety can be scarce but they do what they can. The rooms were not cleaned well where we were but if you don’t hang out in your room often it shouldn’t be an issue. Bring coffee because he got none. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort

Amazing resort. Very family friendly kids loved the kids club as well as the beach never had to fight for chairs. We had a few small issues on our trip and they were fixed immediately. Not a party resort. Lots of food options and booze. Loved the cappuccino . Ariel was our favorite bartender. We will be back forsure

Hotel Playa Coco: Yet again another amazing trip

Another visit equals another smile and happiness. This resort is the best smallest resort we have ever found. Great food, great people, clean grounds and beach, an amazing gym, a perfect diamond in the ruff.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Quiet Resort

This resort is one of three in the area. No locals around. Quiet area if you are looking for a very relaxing place. Pools are clean and maintained. Beautiful white sand beach. Clean and well maintaned buildings. Entertainment and food is the only thing lacking in my opinion. There is plenty of food it’s just not that enjoyable, but most Cuban food is like that for me personally. Totally would go back. For me it’s all about relaxing, sun and the beach

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Fantastic if you like big hotels

New hotel, spotless clean, excellent service, good food, beautiful beach - almost everything you want in a vacation spot. For us, it was too big, we prefer smaller hotels. As in all new hotels, the garden is not fully grown, therefore there is a lot of areas that do not have enough shade.Otherwise perfect.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Nonstop Disappointment

Unfortunately my stay here for the week was nonstop disappointment. Our room wasn’t ready for check in until 6:30pm, when we entered our bed sheets had blood and semen stains and the pillows smelled like sweaty hair with mascara residue (clearly not washed). Our room phone was broken, we had to walk to the lobby and follow up 3x to change the sheets, we didn’t get clean sheets until 9:30pm, and our phone was never fixed. We only had 2 toilet paper replenished in our room throughout the we [... read more]ek, and you were lucky if there was ANY toilet paper in any of the other washrooms. It seemed they could only afford to deliver a limited amount of TP and water bottles on certain days. There were 2 days we were given no bottled water, so if you’re still convinced to go here pack your own toilet paper and water. There was no point walking over to the customer service office multiple times, they would lie in our face and say “it was just delivered” and we would walk back to the room to find nothing, then walked back and they would lie again, in a way to just get ride of our presence and not deal with the situation. In fact, the one day I asked for some TP to use in the lobby washroom, the manager laughed and said “no”. Very very rude staff, only nice staff were the gardeners (unless you pay the staff money they are friendlier). They did not replace our sheets or towels once throughout the week even when they were visibly dirty. Bed bugs as well, not surprising since clearly they don’t even change new sheets when a new guest arrives, my husband and I woke up to multiple bites. Internet went down frequently and is only available in the lobby. Don’t expect working internet. If it doesn’t cut out, a WhatsApp message takes about 5 minutes to send. It seems this specific resort has some sort of arrangement for the locals, about 50% of the guests were locals and staff would prioritize service for them. With the Cuban food shortage buffets would always run out, the locals would get to cut in line and typically took an entire bread basket or entire platter of meat and once the actual tourists were next the chefs said no more food. One day it took 1 hour to get a hotdog/ French fries at the grill while we watched a family of locals be served 2 replenishments of a PLATTER of hotdogs hand delivered by the manager. Even without the shortage lineups for food in general was ridiculous, this place used to have a pizza oven along the beach and you now need to wait in a half hour lineup at a restaurant, you can’t take it to go. Lineup for eggs took on average 30-45 minutes. Only one bar is opened after 10pm. They only had beer and rum available when they ran out which was frequent. Also note to bring your own beach towels, there was only 1 day they had clean beach towels to replace. Good things: Lots of friendly stray cats if you like cats

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort but will never go back

This resort has the best layout and the most incredible beach of all the trips we took over the last 25 years all over the Caribbean but will never ever go back. It took 4 days before we finally got TOILET PAPER in our room, and 5 days to bring clean bath towels. No eggs, no bread, no water. 2nd day in we had to go off resort to buy water. Being in Cuba we knew they had issues and we didn’t blame the resort, the only one to blame is SUNWING, they knew about all issues and problems Cuba are experiencing and SUNWING should have been honest and upfront with their customers and tell them all this but in my mind they’re only in it to make money. Every drinks were watered down, even the coffee and meal were cold. Even air conditioning was never fixed in our room either.

Melia Costa Rey: Horrible resort

This hotel should not have been accepting anyone during the month of April at all!! This hotel was undergoing major maintenance repairs and upgrades for incoming investor's during the month of April while we were there for a 2 week vacation that quickly turned into an awful vacation the first 24hrs we were there. We stayed for 2 days and during that time we spent most of it with their office services and our Air Transit rep to have us moved to another hotel or fly us home at our own expense!! th [... read more]ere was no ice, no rum, no fancy mixed drinks, food was sub par even for Cuba, noise all day from construction and repairs, many bars were closed and in repair, gazebo for weddings on the beach was torn down(2 weddings were there at the time) no night entertainment as it was closed also, paint falling on you as you walked to your room, resort hallways/room were at best a 1* not the 4* they advertised. We were finally moved after much discussions with our Air Transit rep to the Grand Aston in Cayo Paredon which made our vacation 100% better. We got to the Gran Marena on April 4th and they finally closed it down on the 10 of April and were moving people to whatever hotels they could secure that had room for people there longer than 1 week....just terrible

Hotel Playa Coco: cheap rooms

Grounds nice, ocean nice, food OK. Cleaning of the rooms almost none We were not aware of any insufficiencies in food. . Lots of well off Russians. Ocean view very nice. Room very very basic, lived mostly from a suitcase. Sunwing should post some info to avoid searching for a representative.

Sanctuary White Sands: Great Place

The hotel is brand new. There were a few hiccups but were resolved in a timely matter. There were also some inconveniences that should have been addressed with more urgency. Beach is beautiful, food okay, service great.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Mediocre at best

Pools are nice, beach is beautiful, rooms are great, grounds are clean, staff is Ok but the food is awful. Lack of variety is one thing, but whatever you do have, can you make it tasty? Bring condiments from home. You get what you pay for. Although I got a nice tan. ?
