Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: A place worth considering for vacation!

The Bahia Principe lobby is breath-taking. The staff are friendly and are always available to assist you. The grounds are immaculate. Staff are always working to ensure the parameters are clean and maintained. The buffets provided more food than I expected it would be. This was my first time at Bahia Principe and it won't be my last.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Vacation

The hotel was beautiful, our room was always clean and well maintained, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the beach is the best beach in Punta Cana. Every day the maintenance team is washing the common areas. Most of the staff is wonderful, friendly and very accommodating. The entertainment team is great. I’ve been to the Dominican 13times, first time to the Bahia Luxury Esmeralda, this was such a great vacation, will definitely return to this location.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great food, Great time, Great service!

Second time at this resort. The food at the a la carte restaurants, the coffee at the Cafe was really good especially the Mongolian restaurant! The service from the beach server, the servers at the buffet restaurant and the omelet cooks, the butler at the villa, the hotel staff at the lobby ...all were so attentive and made sure we were looked after. There were 8 of us, we had an amazing time. The beach is literally right there. Enjoyed my vacation!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing Resort!

We went in the first week of June 2024. The hotel was big and beautiful, comfortable rooms, we had a Junior Suite. The food and drinks were fantastic and people were friendly and attentive. They had daily activities and great shows There was even a flea market close by for gifts called the "Hacienda". The only downside was the beach was very weedy and rocky getting in. They need to clean the seaweed regularly and you need to wear water shoes at the beach. The pools however were awesome and there [... read more] were many of them. Resort was absolutely beautiful and well-kept (especially given its large size!). Many options for food, and good food at that! Staff are friendly, entertainment was good, 10/10 recommend this place

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Wonderful Stay

Stayed May 30th -June 6 2024. Highly recommend this resort. Approx 45 min bus ride from airport. When you get past the town the mountain side views are Beautiful. Resort is very clean. You can see the pride they take in their resort. Food and Dessert there is a lot of variety. Walking on the beach is very relaxing. Very quiet. No resorts beside there you can walk and enjoy. We stayed in building 26. Not far at all from lobby.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Blown away

This experience was unlike anything we have ever done together and we couldn't be happier about the experience we had. Food, entertainment, staff, rooms all amazing. 7 days was the perfect amount of time to settle into the resort and find everything we were looking for

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible Resort & Air Transat Experince

From beginning to end Liz Simunic ensured our experience with Air Transat and our resort was phenomenal. I highly recommend booking with her. I’ve always gone with Sun Wing but was tired of the constant delays, flight issues, and their lack of care for clients (their booking team is great, but once you book nothing is set in stone). We mistakenly booked at one of the hottest times of the year and the phenomenal staff really made sure everyone was catered to. Continuous shuttles, lots of cool crisp water, clean grounds, delicious food. Entertainment staff were also incredible, fun pool exercises, dances, water polo in other pools, oh my goodness. We had a blast. Incredible bar staff. Despite how BUSY it truly was they did a phenomenal job with a smile on their face. We did the Xplor excursion which I would highly recommend if you do not struggle with walking, and haven’t had a recent surgery. It was BEAUTIFUL. The cenoté was breathtaking and it was nice to do an excursion with so many options to choose from. I did Xel Hao a decade ago and that was also a ton of fun. I’m a beach bum and personally I prefer Cuban beaches. Just bring your water shoes or you may cut your toe open! But the beach is beautiful. Thank you Liz and Air Transat team. We travelled with friends who went the Air Canada route and their flight apparently was quite cramped and uncomfortable. This hotel is HUGE. If you hate walking, lots of families, etc this can still be for you if you take their shuttles. You can also order them from your room. However, they have other Bahía Chains around that are smaller and just as gorgeous. Visit the hacienda for shopping at day and dancing at night with a wonderful dj. Hacienda is a shuttle golf cart away. No more than 5 mins. It’s complimentary of the resort. Tonnes to do on and off the resort. Hacienda and resort shopping are overpriced and for this reason I didn’t buy and trinkets to take back but to be honest it wasn’t an issue. The Mexican Airport had a fabulous array of very inexpensive bottles of fabulous tequilas. The employees were so educated in each one. They had bottles there that they only craft and sell in Mexico, can’t get ‘em anywhere else. I wouldn’t come here again (I never visit a resort twice though) but I’d recommend it.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful Resort!

The grounds are perfectly manicured and tended too. The architecture is beautiful and the buildings very well maintained. The pools are well divided and divided as quiet and party pool, which works really well according to your mood that day! Beware of losing your towel card as they will charge you 10$USD if you lose it, and if you would like to replace your towel... even if you forgot it at the pool the day before. The entertainment crew is fun and very active; kudos to them for being present  [... read more]from 10am to midnight! The beach is well maintained but not frequented by many people. The water is very calm as the resort is located within a bay and not directly on the ocean. The water appears to be somewhat "brackish" and not like the typical Punta Cana beachfront/ocean waters. The food is very good, we were pleased with the selection and variety.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great Resort especially young children

Great rooms very clean friendly staff, always working to keep grounds tidy. Resort is beautiful the only thing I would say is it is more for very young children even the entrainment not too much for the adults coming with very young kids, but if you have kids strollers to about 6 great Vacation. The food is awesome everywhere from the restaurants, buffets, room service beach...Great Food.

The hotel itself was beautiful and it was surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and an amazing ocean and beach. The food at the buffet was not bad and had Jamaican food options which was appreciated but nothing outstanding. I stayed in a premium room and all rooms on that side had a foul odour of sewage and was constant. The smell would not go away. My tv didn’t work I called down for repair and no one ever came. My son peed on our bed sheets while being changed and when we left and came back w [... read more]e noticed the bed was spread with the same Sheet as it was wet in the same spot. Overall def not returning, based off that smell alone

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Very dissapointed

Beach, pool and common areas are very nice. Clean and well maintained. Would have preferred a bar or servers to go around more often Food ... it was bad. Too salty - even in the specialty restaurants. Also, need more aircon/fans in restaurants. So hot that we had to cut short on one of our dinners. 2 or 3 times, we were told that they don't have our selection from the menu. Not happy with the service either. Especially at bars and at some egg stations for breakfast. Room was adequate. Air con [... read more] works perfectly and everything was clean. There was a broken chair and the safe was not working but it was fixed right away. Note that there is only one outlet near the bed and we needed two for our CPAP machines. On top of that, on one night, there was no electricity for more than 1.5 hours, meaning our machines could not functioned at all. There was a party going on past 1 am, right under my room.

Rooms are okay , little old , workers in buffet are nicer and the restaurant are nice as well , pool is clean , late entertainment could be better , kids club is amazing, great for kids, foods great but some day is the same food repeat.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Perfect resort for little kids

I would give this hotel a 4 out of 5 star. I’ve been to many all inclusive. The grounds were clean and beautiful. We also went for a walk at Bavaro and Grand Punta Cana, equally as beautiful. I didn’t like the fact that this is not really an ocean front, Luxury Esmeralda is right in front of it. You had to take the electric cars which came frequently but still would have preferred to be a “real beach front” Buffet was better on the weekend, same with the entertainment. We tried 3 a la carte, Ma [... read more]iko tepankyaki, Mikado and 2x at Le Gourmet because we loved our shrimp and steak and hubby had the lamb rack. Service was excellent! Overall, we had a memorable vacation. Highly recommend for kids 5 and below.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Excellent resort

We stayed at adults section, villa 83. we loved the location, 2 min to restaurant for breakfast and lunch or to the infinite pool and the beach. The beach was clean and the ocean full of fish. Ideal place for snorkeling. The resort is big and very clean. We had access to all restaurants and beaches at Bahia Tulum, Coba and Sian Ka'an The room was clean, it needs a little refreshment but overall was ok. The food was also ok, nothing out of the ordinary, not a lot of variety.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Quiet

Beautiful renovated rooms. Great swim ups.The restaurants at the Amber were amazing. The beach was perfect. The pool was entertaining. Only complaint is not enough up beat music. Most times the music in the lobby was recorded replayed put me to sleep music. Needs more excitement in the Amber.

The hote offers various options for swimming and family activities. Service in the restaurants is not consistent and can be improved. Sadly for one of the nights we had to leave a specialty dining due to cockroach on table . The restaurant staff never followed through. We had to do our own customer advocacy for the experience by requesting to eat at the Brazilian The other disappointment was the poor service from the onsite WestJet rep at the resort. This resort is ginormous, make sure if you're for the day on the beach, don't forget anything otherwise it'll take you 20 mins to go back to your room, that's how big this resort is ....we loved it!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Okay Resort

- The grounds are well maintained and look lovely and the public areas were quite good. Unfortunately this resort was promoted to us as a "luxury" hotel. It definitely was not and this was quite disappointing. - The rooms are okay although I had to point out to the housekeeping staff a spot on the bedspread which was obviously not noticed by their staff. It was finally removed and not replaced for the rest of our stay. Other than that, the housekeeping staff was very attentive and provide [... read more]d us with really good service. The rooms again were adequate but not of "luxury" standard. - The dining staff were very welcoming and attentive but the food at the restaurants was lacking variety and pretty much the same fare every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bit disappointing as we had stayed at the Bahai Principe Punta Cana many years ago and the food was fabulous. We had no complaints when we had stayed there many years ago. - The entertainment could be improved as their shows usually lasted 30 minutes and the staff was introduced as a group and not by individual names which would have been nice and more personal. It was noticed that in the pool area the entertainment staff were not interactive with most of the guests and pool activities were not generally announced very loudly to involve most people by the pool. Announcements were mainly in Spanish and a bit of English which was usually missed in translation and hard to hear when any activity was starting. Again the Bahai Principe Punta Canada provided more entertainment and made sure the guests were aware of their activities. Part of this issue is due to everybody using their APP which at times was not accessible when the WiFi system was down. - There was sometimes a language barrier where some of the reception staff and even the staff asking for guest experience feedback could not understand what guests were trying to say. - The Air Transat representative at the resort (Emmanuel) needs to have better customer service with the guests when they require his services. He was a bit rude, not only to us but to other guests (confirmed by others), when trying to find out what options we had when there was the over 6-hour flight delay on May 23rd. He was not helpful at all. Having dealt with other representatives (eg, Sunwing, Air Canada), this was the first time we have ever experienced such poor customer service. - re Value for Money - We would say fair as this resort was promoted a "luxury" hotel and it was not. If we had gone thinking it was just a resort and not a luxury resort, then it would have been good value for the money.
