Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Sunshine in Mexico is always perfect

Hotel rooms were old and stained and falling apart stains on sheets as well, ac was broken and toilet broke. We had to change rooms moved to the plus area and overall conditions were much better, poolside and grounds were dirty. There was no beach or beach access except for a small area for the boats to go in and out off. Good was surprisingly good. No swim up bar only 2 pool bars and in the slow season were very busy. Entertainment was poor

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice getaway

Blue Bay is a full service hotel that I would rate as 4 star (no more, no less). The shops near the lobby are very nice. The spa services were enjoyable and professional. The outdoor, shaded pool area was a wonderful treat (several different shaped pools, one with cascading shower). They had several double bed, memory foam mattresses for you to take a nap on (outdoors) after your treatment(s) and offered healthy juices and snacks to munch on while relaxing. The staff did a great job of cleaning up the seaweed on the ocean shores (as this year there was a lot coming up. Overall staff were friendly and mostly attentive. Some staff were a little aloof or indifferent at times---the animacion or pool activity staff were a little like this. They had their usual daily activities that one came to expect and they had a boarded schedule of activities (which was not always followed). They did not come around and invite you to activities or announce things in advance—very much in their own little world. You could borrow bocce balls, ping pong and other equipment; not that this was advertised—we just happened to ask. The rooms were nice and sufficient. The cleaning services were fine—although I would’ve preferred a full replacement of fresh towels big and small daily, so that we had an abundance. Front desk staff were not the happiest or warmest bunch, very no nonsense, serious. Some areas like the lobby could use an update and upgrade..most hotels have a grandiose centerpiece, instead here, a very average and low rising fountain. All restaurants were nice, especially the French restaurant---gourmet and home made dishes—extremely tasty and well prepared. Was a good 4 star hotel. Would recommend it if you are not fussy about details.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great getaway!

Got there in the afternoon. Was told to go eat lunch at the buffet and then the room would be ready which it was. Stayed on the third floor of building 5 which is good and quiet. AC worked amazing. Beds were great. Safe was included in our package. Was told we'd receive a bottle of rum which we didn't have in the room when we arrived but we told Guest services about it and then they brought it. We had water provided everyday in the room. Most of them were gallon bottles which really helped with  [... read more]the heat. They also gave two cans of beer and two pops which were free the first time. If you wanted more, you'd have to pay but drinks at the bar were free. They had one cash bar in the lobby which was a waste of space but there were still people at the bar buying drinks (doesn't make sense to me). Had some water issues one day where the water just stopped but it was the whole building which they fixed really quickly. Have to pay for Wifi. We got the 25 hour Wifi deal which costed a little over a 1000 pesos which we didn't even finish using during the week. Daily buffet was great. Staff at the buffet work really hard and are still pleasant. Ended up making a lot of staff friends there. Not sure why people write reviews saying the food sucks but we loved it. In the morning there was an omelette station and then a pasta station during the day/dinner. There is always something good at the buffets for breakfast lunch and dinner. And if your not a fan of trying new food then you can eat at the snack bar where they always have cheese pizza, fried chicken, fries, rice and beans, burgers and hot dogs. There were three a la carte restaurants. The seafood and oriental restaurants require guys to wear long pants and no tank tops as their dress code which is pretty stupid considering how hot and humid the weather is. I understand they are trying to create an atmosphere but c'mon, its over 35C all day, every day and I'd rather not wear long pants but such is life. Beach was great. Felt like you could walk along the beach forever. Tonnes of vendors there selling things like excursions, necklaces, wraps, henna tattoos, massages, manicures, pedicures. We are used to saying no to vendors so by day two or three they stopped asking and bugging us however they work from 8am to 5pm everyday in the heat, walking along many resorts so have some sympathy for them. Beach bar was very convenient (snack bar in the same location) and they make great drinks. At night the same bar becomes the clubbing area. There is no actual disco. On the weekends the locals kinda take over the resort but hey, they need a vacation too. Didn't spend too much time at the pools but they were very clean looking. There is one pool bar where people sit in the water and drink, not sure how often they leave the pool to go to the bathroom so you get idea. Gym was basic, has a treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bike. Also has dumbbells up to 50lbs, a couple of exercise balls and stretching mats. Same area was the spa (didnt go) and a smaller pool/jaccuzi. This was a non-smoking area where there was a coffee machine (great) and a couple juice machines,all free. The resort on the whole looked great, workers maintaining all day, every day. Very clean everywhere. Pools were cleaned daily. The buffet was decorated differently everyday based on their themes.

food was great, even better in a la card restaurants, witch is not always the case. it is the first time we spent more time at the sandy beech then the pool, was great. the only one thing, if you like crowdy, lots of people place? it is not for you

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Place for the value

I loved the hotel and the grounds, the welcome was very nice. They give you a cold towel to use and some ice tea. this was a nice touch. I been to DR several times and i find this hotel very nice and cozy. The food was great and the service was excellent! i would go back. the only problem i had was with housekeeping, they cleaned my room only 1 time in 4 days even when i requested it they did not come to clean. otherwise this place is great!!!

Overall, this resort was really nice. The food was very good and the service was exceptional except for the on the first, but I believe that was because we arrived at a time where the eating places were closed and limited. This is NOT a resort for young people looking to party! It is located in Rivera Maya, 15 minute drive from Playa Del Carmen and about an hour drive from Cancun. So if you decide to stay here, you will be paying A LOT for cab fare. If you are looking to go to a resort and stay on the resort the whole time, then this is the place to be. HOWEVER, it is a big resort and it gets tiring walking around especially at night because the cart service is only till 11pm. Also, there is a really really weird, awful stench on this resort...mainly near the pool and beach area. ..,it smells like sewage and is really really off-putting!

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with 2 bathrooms. Wished for a swim up balcony for our next trip. The resort amenities were nice and close, with the ocean and pool steps from our building. Our room wasn't cleaned the first 2 days but from then on was cleaned every day.

The hotel overall was pleasant with great food. The drinks tasted watered down. Internet service was very limited and often unavailable throughout our 10 day stay. We were not even able to communicate with the other couple that came on vacation with us through wifi. Service when provided was excellent, but given that there appeared to be a lack of staff, it was often unavailable. At the pool, you had to queue continually for drinks. The staff was wonderful, food was awesome, entertainment was fun and engaging , I was happy with the resort overall it's just too bad the rain hit and every inch of the place became waterlogged wet soaked and damaged .

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Warning!!! Worst Resort Ever!!!

We just got back in Sunday from Mexico. We checked in in the 14th of June and checked out the next day and spent a wonderful stay at the Sandos Caracol. Do not waste your money at All Ritmo, very dirty, very small, food was horrible And resort was very small

First time here and first time at an all inclusive for me...what a time!!! Four of us went for a week and we were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but we had an awesome time! The staff is OUTSTANDING...OUTSTANDING! Check in was easy and we were ready to hit the beach. Chairs and the little grass huts down on the beach are wonderful, we enjoyed the sun, sand, surf and a drink or two from the beach bar. The pool bar was a happening place, music, laughs and drinks quickly ready for you to enjoy. The chairs at the pool could stand to be replaced..some ripped and some had the bar at the bum area sticking up which was hard to sit on if you wanted to read. FOOD..lots and lots of food, felt like we were always eating and traveled with two vegetarians and they never had any problems finding something to their liking. The staff in the dining room was quick to fill your glasses and take your dirty dishes and always with a pleasant greeting. Everyone is so friendly and the entertainment team is AMAZING..had so much fun and laughs. I am going to say the place could use with a little updating, pool tiles need fixing, pool needs a little cleaning, rooms need a little updating and some good quality pillows would be a plus we all suffered from some sore necks from the pillows. We never had any bugs in our room but there was a smell of sewer that could be smelt every once in awhile that was a little off putting but we weren`t in our room for the whole trip but it did make us wonder why that smell would fill our room. Free WiFi...an all inclusive should include everything ...including WiFi...it would have been nice to stay in touch with home with the use of free WiFi. Bring some small bills with you because no where on the resort can you get any bigger bills changed and if you bought something in the beach hut you were given peso and if you didn`t want them they always said they had no american dollars. I think it was a wonderful vacation and would not hesitate to tell anyone to go there for a good time...I know we all had a great time and will be back!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: So so average

This place is nothing like it claims to be. The only saving grace is that the staff are incredible. I have traveled a lot i've never encountered staff like this. Every employee was willing to help you or direct you to what you needed. If you're a couple, this would be really chill place to hang for a week.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good resort, but choose the right building!

The Hotel was good, a solid 4 star experience. However, there is a lot of variety in the buildings (there are 9). Building 2 had a very unpleasant smell (combo of disinfectant and pest spray). We switched to building 3 and it was great! Food was terrific, staff very personable and helpful. "Emerald" service is nice, but overpriced. Beach isn't great, but much better 10 minutes walk to the left.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the resort.. Food and drinks were good.. room was big and bed was comfortable.. Only negatives were the beach was not that great.. Not a lot of shade available.. It is narrow and a lot of weeds wash ashore.. My biggest complaint though is the lack of respect by certain tourists who bring glass beer bottles into the pool area and can't be bothered to take or put their empty glasses back.. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort but with a few glitches

The hotel transfer was easy. Just go past all the people until you see the air transat signs; they'll have a list with your name and resort and show you where to wait. They sell beer and water on the bus cheaper than you can buy outside the terminal. We got a welcome drink when we arrived and didnt have to wait long to check in. The lobby doesnt have air conditioning though so it can get hot. They have a welcome dinner for new arrivals which was good and some entertainment It is easy to get arou [... read more]nd on foot to different areas of the hotel, but if you get tired, they have bus signs where you can get picked up and taken wherever. There is a shuttle for $6US OR 65Pesos (each way), that will take you to playa del carmen. The a la carte restaurants were phenominal. The oriental and french are a must and the steakhouse is always booked so keep checking back if you want to eat there. The bars are well stocked with a wide selection of hard liquors and you can get any drink imaginable.There were good acitivites put on by the staff during the day and lots of bars to get a drink. On saturday, they had vendors come to the hotel for a night market. We saw some things that werent available in playa del carmen. Now here are the glitches: bar times varied (beach bar only available to vip during the day); 24hr pizza only available if the buffets not open; dive centre on site somewhat unorganized and pricey; internet service not very good for size of the hotel and # of guests; buffets not overly good but decent. Overall, my boyfriend and i enjoyed our stay here, but we personally like to try different resorts so most likely wouldn't stay here again for that reason alone.

The Blue Bay is a beautiful resort. The grounds are clean and well kept. The dining is great. The beach is a wonderful place to see the sunrise and spend the day under your palapa. It is an adults only resort. People from all over the world are there and we met some fantastic people. This was our second visit and we will certainly be going again.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: great for kids

Awesome for kids, Waterpark can be a little crowded. Actually have the activities they claim kn the website. Attended with a party of 7, they accommodated at all times for dinners, etc. Staff was friendly and there were no late night drunk partyers
