Melia Internacional: Nice Hotel

Hotel was kept well, grounds were clean at all times. Food was plentiful considering it was Cuba. Wifi as anywhere in Cuba was terrible. Ran out of vodka and beer at times. Red and Blue Bar service was not good at all.Tip or no tip they just go through the motions. Outside bars much better, quicker service and friendlier. Disco Bar very good and very friendly. Buffet staff was great. Restaurant staff and food was great. Room was cleaned very well daily, made sure we water in the fridge. Roo [... read more]m was nice ( Junior Suite). Gym was small, but you’re able to get workouts in. Treadmill, free weights, universal , bikes. Room overlooks pool and ocean. Quick walk to beach, beaches were great, lots of loungers on beach with umbrellas. Get there early for best seats. Pools nice and clean, swim up bar.

Melia Internacional: Awesome Resort-Amazing Staff

Jan 31-Feb 7, 2024 - booked Level-Family, oceanview. Make sure you know if you have a premium room or not. Premium rooms have king size bed, otherwise you get two doubles. Food was ample with lots of choices. French fries were hit and miss. Staff, including at buffet were very accommodating with my spouses dairy allergies and buffet chef made him his own pizza with no cheese. Resort looks big and pictures may make you think it’s a long walk to the beach, but it’s really not. Beach bar staff are absolutely amazing!

Melia Las Antillas: Great

Flight uneventful,really liked that we could fly out of Kitchener. Since flight was not full we could have a middle seat between us ( bonus ) Transfer to hotel quick and very organized. Hotel ,dated but clean. Room supersaver was a ground floor room facing garden. Room A/ C worked to well,couldn't adjust temperature,but better than too warm. Also large container of natural honey much cheaper. $ in U.S. By cash or credit. Overall nice area. Very touristy and busy ( for our liking )

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus Princess Del Mar

The resort itself is immaculate, which really impressed us. We had problems with our first room as the power kept going out so they shuffled us in the dark, not lending a hand at all to a room down the hall. Same exact room. Very clean. However, Glen was on the deck and noticed the sliding door handle was broken, obviously hadn’t been fixed. Our toilet ran all the time as well. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Horrible Resort

We arrived at the resort and the reception personnel were not welcoming or helpful. We got our room and it was definitely not what we expected. Broken shower, air conditioner not working, smelled bad. We complained to front desk and after 3 attempts plus talking to the customer services manager they would not move us. The food at the buffet and other restaurants was absolutely terrible. We spoke to the west jet rep the next day and they were able to get us moved to a new resort for day 3 of our [... read more] trip. The next resort was a down grade but room was all working and reasonable as well as the food being 110% better. Overall we still enjoyed our trip but will never return to Cuba again. I am hoping that I can speak to someone with Trip advisor/West jet vacations about a partial refund due to the nature of events.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 3rd Visit and another Gem!

This was our 3rd visit, and first since the "plague". Another fun, relaxed experience. It is important to have a proper expectation when visiting Cuba, this was our 7th trip to the island. They make the best with what they have, with a heart felt smile, and are very engaging, you just need to smile back! The beach lounger chairs are tired, I think the are the ones from the pool, as those are replaced. The food was excellent. There are shortages of different things but we always had something different, and delicious. What keeps us coming back? The staff! Beach bartenders Maday and Richard, and Yusmila at the Piano Bar are fantastic! Seek them out and you will love them! Guest experience staff Lili and Tony, were very helpful, always with a smile. Can't wait until next year!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Loved all of it ??

My experience at the Rio De Oro was amazing! Although there were a few things not available the people and the atmosphere made up for all of it. The grounds at the resort were beautiful, well kept and there was lots of little places to find some tranquility if needed. I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed the staff. They were so friendly an accommodating. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you ?

Melia Cayo Coco: Exclusive, Enchanting Destination !

After numerous visits to Melia Cayo Coco, it has become a very special place in our lives. The service is outstanding, the Resort itself has exquisite grounds that are carefully maintained. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Cuba

The Melia Cayo Santa Maria is a beautiful Resort, the rooms are well kept and very high end for Cuba. There are plenty of activities going on throughout the day and the staff is very welcoming and thoughtful. The Cubans are a very proud and industrial people and we did see plenty of evidence of their hard work. The grounds of the Resort are very clean and the evening entertainment staff put on some awesome shows. The tennis courts (six) are in excellent condition which was a nice surprise. It all depends on your reasons for making Cuba your vacation destination. We go for the beach and the weather, we do not go for the food or alcohol. The conditions for import are not good in Cuba therefore the food and the alcohol suffer the consequences. However, the beer was ice cold and delicious, the weather was beautiful and the beach was fantastic.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Reliable basic quality

My stay at Melia Cayo Santa Maria was the 4th or 5th time I have been there. Once again, I chose this resort for its long, perfect beach, pristine sea, and of course wonderful weather; for its modest size, comfortable accommodation and especially its people. I was not disappointed. The grounds and buildings remain very beautiful and well kept. The attractive rooms have been upgraded since my last visit in 2019. Nonetheless I found that by carefully choosing- for example the salads, food prepared on site, fresh fish, the smaller cafés- one can eat well. On the whole, the resort and its people provided another excellent escape.

Melia Internacional: Great resort

We love our stay in this hotel, very big, elegant, nice room (only some issues with the drawers), nice staff, very close to the beach, nice pool, buffet was fine, I was expected less variety, but I was satisfied. I will recommend to my friends, and I would like to come back to stay more time in the hotel and take advantage of the different activities that they offer :) Thank you so much!

Melia Las Dunas: Returned after 12 years

The hotel still has the best beach in Cuba. The weather was great. The staff do a valiant job working under a terrible government which is causing the economy to one day collapse. the shortages are no doubt caused by distribution problems in the system. Had real eggs 14 out of the 21 days we were there. The rooms have great beds and are clean and spacious. the water pressure is on the lowish side and the hot water is luke warm which was okay for me. The beach can't be beat and the pools are hug [... read more]e. The food is not for everyone. I eat eggs and fruit in the morning so I got by. The grill is great for chicken and pork for lunch and the pizza is okay. The suppers are interesting. I always found something to eat every night. I like fish so I had fish everynight for 21 days. Had salmon 1 day , tuna 3 days and sea bass and another local fish the rest of the time. Great grill man there at buffet. a la carts are spotty. All in all you won't starve. I'm not a big drinker so the lack of mix for certain drinks didn't bother me. Would I go back . Good question? But I had a great time as did my wife. One thing did bother me and that's when Melia customer service shakes you down for later checkout time. 15$ per hour. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Needs Work

This is our 4th time there the grounds are still beautiful. The villa we stayed in was ok however the bathroom needs work. I prefer the bungalows. The buffet: I found a piece of wire in my mashed pumpkin which could have turned out very dangerous. It looked like it was from a bbq brush or something like that. The service at the beach restaurant was terrible I had to ask for our menus after sitting there for 15 minutes or more. Then I had to find the waitress to order our food. And they didn’t [... read more] bring our dessert that we had ordered. The manager seemed in distress because the waitresses just left. The service every where else was fantastic in the restaurants, the pool bar (Lorenzo) and the pool restaurant (Leo). The lobby bar very good service as well. The entertainment was very nice loved the violinist!! We will give this resort another try and then decide from there if we will continue to come here.

Melia Las Dunas: Excellent beach, but 2-3 stars otherwise

The beach is excellent, however be aware that the same food is served every day, 3 stars would be a maximum. Rooms and common grounds are not well maintained. It was still worth the half price I paid in early January, and Air Transat is good. .

Melia Jardines del Rey: Safe,friendly resort

Very accommodating lovely and safe place. Friendly staff everywhere on the resort. Food was plentiful. Pork chicken pizza rice pasta fruit seafood and veggies. Yogurt juice coffee tea lots of desserts and bread water and alcohol. Beautiful beach some rocky. Resort needs some upkeep but very clean with palm trees and natural setting. On premise dentist saved my vacation stay. Thanks to Rafel, sunwing reps front desk and customer service. Little issues resolved quickly. Melia Cayo Coco: A gem

This hotel is a gem! The beach is beautiful, the landscape is beautiful, the rooms and food are great! The bathrooms are clean, the bars are always full and plenty! It’s only 10 Minutes from the airport. The best thing about this hotel is the staff!!! Welcoming, friendly and genuine! They always go above and beyond for their guests!! ??

Tryp Cayo Coco: Beautiful Resort

I just got home from my 5 days at Tryp Cayo Coco. I can’t wait to book my next trip. The people, the beaches, the vibes, are just a few of my favourite things when visiting Cuba. No shortages while I was there except white wine. The drinks were tasty and the coffee was the best I have ever had. There was always a variety of different things at the Buffett, and the A La carte was delicious. My room was clean and I felt very safe. I will return in a heartbeat

Melia Jardines del Rey: Désastreuse

Mauvaise hotel vendu comme 4,5 étoiles, sale, aucune bon service; Pour manger un oeuf le matin on faisait le fil pendant 1 heures, la même chose pour dîner et souper; Dans l’economie d’une journée on perdait 3 heures de vacances payés très cher; C’est un hôtel de maximum 1,5 étoiles.. Il faut plus tromper les clients.. Je peux vous envoyer des photos si vous êtes intéressé, voir qu’est-ce que vous vendez comme 4,5 étoiles;

Paradisus Varadero: Disappointed

I have travelled to many countries (Europe, China, Mexico,DR, Jamaica and Cuba several times) so my expectations were realistic. This was the first time that I treated myself to a 5 star resort. Our trip organiser should have advised us to pay more for "Royal Service" accomodations which I presumed to be worthy of the 5 star rating. The upkeep/maintenance of the "Jr Suite" assigned to us was more like that of a cheap motel. When we arrived at around 8 pm, the air conditioning was not in wo [... read more]rking order...condensation from the unit dripped from the ceiling and pooled on the bathroom floor...the blower fan made a loud clanging noise when I got it to work. (I recorded this on my iPhone) The heat and humidity in the room throughout the night was unbearable. Guest services said that a mechanic would be right over to repair it... this didn't happen. I tried to reach our tour organiser (Sunwing) but their offices were closed and the WiFi at the resort was not working (no Internet for the duration of our stay) so unable to access their website. The following morning, attendants at "Reception" said no other rooms were available... When our SunWing rep arrived, I was told that there was nothing they could do and they were busy booking excursions. At around noon, the air conditioner blower was repaired but this made the dripping from the ceiling even worse. Finally, Guest Services arranged to move us to another suite. In this suite, the toilet did not flush properly (the tank did not refill unless the cover was removed and the float manually repositioned). Furthermore, the handle on the outside of the patio door was missing and there were no small towels, facecloths or shower mats. As we were wanting to enjoy our vacation, we did not pursue the matter further. Most of the pathway lights leading to both suites assigned to us were either broken or missing. This created a hazard because a large hole (3 ft deep) was left uncovered in the lawn and I narrowly missed stepping into it. So, accommodation was substandard but the beach was beautiful, the workers friendly and the buffet food was good. Only one of the 3 onsite restaurants which we visited served tasty food. In one of them, the grilled fish was so salty as to be inedible.

Melia Marina Varadero: Very Bad !!!!

No choices of food,coffee was only twice while stay 10 Days ,No toilet papier /need to give Tips to get toilet paper.Not enough towels /only one towel per person,not hand towel,face clothes/ Everywhere were bugs we have some bites.Never ever again go to this resort.Staff don’t speak English.Our representative was late ,No info at resort about departure .This resort doesn’t meet Our needs. Never again go to CUBA
