Punta Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful beach!

This resort is a great spot for a relaxing holiday. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food was good but not great. Overall we had a great experience.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Old, beautiful

Old world charm but it has seen its better days. Is in the process of renovating but has a lot of work to do. Rooms were very clean and the open air lobby area is great. Would go bacl agin but would have to get a better deal than we got last time. Beach was perfect.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazing

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. It truly is as amazing at it looks all around. The staff were all wonderfully friendly and helpful. The rooms were so clean each and everyday. The grounds, pool and restaurants were all great. Can't say enough good things about the Blau. My wife and I will return, for sure!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Got what we expected

This was our first time in Cuba, but extensive Research had showed us that generally 5 star resorts tend to be like 3 or 4 stars. This prepared us massively for our trip. Key things to know about this resort - 1. Blau Marina Varadera is RIGHT at the tip of the varadero stretch. This means that it is completely surrounded by the ocean. Makes for amazing views, and easy, all time access to the beach. The beach is literally 3 mins away from your room door. No matter where your room is. 2. In our en [... read more]tire week there, I saw only 2 drunk people. This could mean that the alcohol is weak in Cuba (a little) or that the people at this resort know their etiquette (very true). 3. Staff is nice, food was strictly ok. Vegetarians (like me) will not have too many options, but it's best to leave your foodie self at home and come prepared to sacrifice that aspect of most travel. 4. The beach, activities and service were amazingly good. Entertainment was standard. Mosquitos were LARGE (all across Cuba). For those who like the travel by the local bus, the bus stop is right outside the main gate of the hotel. I truly believe that hotels which on paper are supposed to be better than the Blau would not have matched the location and beach access that this place had.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: new section after we upgrated was great, old bad

service was outstanding, new area beautifull old section dirty , Food was ok Found too many old man with young Cuba girls at this resort and nothing done about it, not hidden, shows where great, music great

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very nice property with great beach

Can be a bit of a walk from certain areas, but overall resort very well maintained and choice of restaurants very good. Beach if very nice, and be sure to visit the disco and request your favourite sont.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Our favorite family vacation resort!

We returned to the Hotel Colonial and will again! We are a family of 5 with 2 teenage boys (13 and 16) and a 14 year old daughter. This was our second time at this resort. We always find something to eat, the beach is amazing, the staff is fantastic and the rooms are clean. No you will not find the diversity of food and the rooms are not that luxurious but this is Cuba. What you do get is a very relaxing vacation, with staff that are extremely helpful and friendly and all for a great price.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great location,excellent service and food.

We were in the VIP section, Cayo Libertad, rooms are big, very clean, large terrace, quiet. Food at the VIP section was very fresh, good and the service efficient and friendly. The management always helpful . It is our third stay at this resort and we will return next year. In our opinion the best resort in Varadero and one of the best in Cuba.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Fairly good value for the money!

Rooms were large and adequately furnished. Pools are well kept and decks cleaned daily. I would recommend spending the extra to move to the plus side (which I believe you can pay for locally). Buffet is sometimes too small to accommodate all guests, however Italian restaurant is excellent for lunch and dinner. As is the case in Cuba, carry your own toilet paper as it may be difficult to find. Muthu Colonial Hotel: Quaint & friendly with lovely pool & beach!

The Beach is awesome & so is the newer pool! This hotel is set up like a colonial community & is very quaint. They have been refurbishing the units but some are still not finished. Stay with unit 16 & 17 & you won't be dissatisfied. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable & amenities well cared for. The grounds are lovely as you can see from pictures online but the staff make the place! They are truly wonderful!! Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great value.

Good service, clean, friendly staff, overall good value for the money. Easy access to the airport however no airplane noise. Beautiful beach with friendly morning activities. I would definitely recommend to the people on the budget.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: So, so, Blau Marina

We stayed in block 7 on the third (walk- up) floor, which was about as central in the large spread out resort as you can get without having a lot of surrounding noise, even though doors were slamming regularly due to wind suction pressure. The rooms were basic and sufficiently clean, the view was not great (ocean view room) but that was due to the lack of grounds upkeep or lack of watering the flora. The staff were all very nice and attentive. The food was just okay, be careful of the open air r [... read more]estaurants as fruit flies, and birds have free access to the salad bars. Speaking of bugs, perhaps it was the time of our visit (March, 2014) but the sand fleas and mosquito's were unreal, take lots of Off Spray, there were people that had allergic reactions that had to have shots just to survive. Another bit of advice is in regards to tipping the front desk often does not have the peso coins but you can easily get what ever change you need from bar tenders or other staff members.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Spacious and enjoyable resort

Wonderful, large beach with great swimming, generous selection of food, friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms and relaxing atmosphere. Only negative was the lobby and dining area bathroom, frequently had out of order/unclean conditions.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: relaxing and delightful serice

Dinners were delicious in the Italian restaurant,rooms very clean, pool staff amazing, coffee and walking on the beach a must, dance place way too loud though, pools clean and drinks delishhhhhhisss. Piano bar a main highlight!!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Good for tight budget party goers.

I went with a large group of friends and had a blast at this resort. The staff were friendly, but the building was a little run down. My friend also had his room broken into and all his stuff stolen by another client his first night there. The food was ok, but I really only enjoyed breakfast. The beach was small and windy so we were pool side most of our trip. Would go some where nicer next time.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: a friendly and amazing resort

First..... this is my 4th time at that friendly resort...this yr it was the best , new beds, very clean in public areas etc....dining was better than the previous yrs ... I enjoyed the langostina at lunch for the repited clients and I never went to a resort that the entertainment is fabillous especially the dancers. Even if I knew the second week would be the same show,,I was their to encourage them and telling them that yrs after yrs the dancers are getting better and better (and the shows also [... read more]). Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: amazing

It was my first time at this resort. Very clean . Staffs are very friendly and helpful, food is fine . Amazing coffee . Beach is really nice and extra activities are very affordable . Definitely going back.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Friendly, family fun

Unusually good food for the area. Fantastic nightly entertainment. Staff generally are eager to please and very helpful. Great swimming beach with clear water that is safe for a very long stretch. Older rooms are not fancy but comfortable and clean. Very busy, noisy family friendly place. Some recent smoking limitations were greatly appreciated and hopefully there will be even more of this in the future.

We had a fantastic experience with all the staff ..the crepe cook was a comedian and kept everyone laughing..the rooms were very clean and up to date..the food was amazing compared to the 4 times previous we had been to different resorts in Cuba...have recommended it a lot

The blau marina was nice. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. We have been to cuba before and know not to expect superior accommodation and fantastic food, this resort was decent for the price we paid.
