Riu Flamingos: Not a fan
I’m sure we got the poorest room, but I expected that. It was a long walk to the only set of elevators in the entire building. The food was anywhere from great( only one night and one restaurant) to terrible ( most nights in all the rest of the restaurants ). The only drinks served in all restaurants was beer or wine! No mixed drinks or after dinner Spanish coffee in any of them! Service in all restaurants was almost nonexistent. There is not nearly enough staff and it took the entire meal t [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Perfect family resort
Our family group included 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 children aged 14, 10 and 3. The family stayed in a family room while the grandparents had a regular bedroom with 2 queen beds joined together. Older adults enjoyed the beach loungers under the swaying palms, visiting the sister resort and the many restaurants with no reservations required. In short, more enjoying, less waiting in line. The exception was the Steakhouse restaurant which was our favourite due to the beachside location. The [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Royal Decameron will not disappoint
If you are looking for a great resort with a wonderful Mexican feeling, with all the comforts and amenities , you will enjoy your stay here. Does not take long to get into the vibe and feel at home. The premises are very well maintained and immaculate. And yes, plenty of hot water and great water pressure . The food is very good and there is variety. Two hours after we checked in we were enjoying dinner at one of the specialty restaurants; easy accessibility to all five of them. There are many p [... read more]
Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Great family resort
When you check in the staff are extremely pushy for time shares. They don’t like to take no for an answer. That started our trip out feeling annoyed. When we asked for our fridge restocked the third time they tried charging us for it. The room is clean and cool we had the ocean view and it was beautiful. The food is good. The best one was the one on the beach. Make sure to reserve when you get there as we were not informed and could only do one reservation. The Mexican festival was fun with am [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Nice resort.
We Do Know Riu Jalisco, we were few times and will come again. Nice surroundings, with many Trees close to beach. Good service close to beach, and very nice people. Restaurants always clean and service is awesome. For Christmas was outstanding ! Really wow - breathtaking food and decorating. It was very welcoming and warm. Rooms very clean and drinks always filled up. Thank You For Your Kindness. Best Regards Richard and Yola
Canto Del Sol: Amazing Resort!!!
The grounds were beautifully kept, the staff was incredible and the food was awesome. We would recommend this resort to our family and friends. We will also come back for another visit. George and Pedro were the best servers at the pool.
Melia Puerto Vallarta: Overall great
The staff are awesome! The location of the hotel was great. Certainly appreciated all the Christmas activities for kids. The food was good. The hotel was a little dated but clean. One downside is that there were often not enough pool chairs and loungers.
Tropicana Hotel: Million dollar view
Upon arrival the staff were super helpful ensuring we were satisfied with our room after a minor issue. Cleaning staff and beach staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and we enjoyed lounging by the pool, on the beach, and in many of the lobby seating areas as we connected to wifi and downloaded movies. We will be returning next year for sure and highly recommend Hotel Tropicana for a reasonably priced experience right in the middle of the bustling romantic zone.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: wonderful week away
This resort is located a little further north of Puerta Vallarta but it is worth it for the peace and quiet. Our rooms were spacious and while a little outdated, in good condition. We had a couple of issues with the safe and toilet which was rectified easily. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff are all friendly and helpful! The timeshare sales people were persistent for the first day and then left us alone for the rest of the stay. The beach area and adult pool are lovely. I [... read more]
Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Krystal Grand ish
Pros Food is pretty good, no they don't have 10 restos and a million choices but what they have is pretty good and there is something for everyone. Drinks are decent, good selection of liquors ect. There are servers at the pool that come by pretty regularly. Actually probably one of the best resorts I have been to with pool service. Pool area is great. Main pool, adult pool and an infinity pool (has the swim up bar). Lots of sun shelves, chairs in the pool, umbrellas, good mix of full [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Safe place for a great time
no shortage of food variety with 6 or 7 restaurants. pools weren't busy and there are adult only pools. Chairs are a bit hard so I recommend bringing an inflatable. Rooms were quiet and the visitors and staff are equally friendly.
Krystal Puerto Vallarta: Average resort
This resort has clean grounds and some nice ocean view rooms but lacks and kind of atmosphere. Not enough spots to get drinks throughout the day led to lineups. Hard to get a beach towel on some days. If you would like a quiet, mellow get away this place could work. Anything beyond that don't bother.
Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Too noisy
We stayed here December 7-17 2022. Overall a nice hotel in a scenic area near Puerto Vallarta. Food and service were fine. We had booked a Premium room which was a nice size and the view was very nice. Seems like all rooms face the water. We were in Tower one on the ninth floor. Beach is small with lots of boat traffic so snorkeling and swimming is restricted to a small area of the cove. Pools were nice though. Loud music from 9am until 5pm. If there is a wedding, the music continues until 11pm [... read more]
Samba Vallarta: A small comfortable resort
The grounds are lovely and well manicured. There was maintenance happening on the large pool which was completed the day before we left. It looks beautiful and we'll enjoy it next year! The dinning room was always clean and tidy. The service from the staff was warm friendly and professional. The Mexican restaurant and the Italian restaurant were fabulous! Many delicious options to choose from and amazing service. The concierge is an added plus to the resort. Bernardo was very friendly and [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Fairly Predictable
The resort has not changed much over the years except for cutbacks in staff and services. No boats, roped off swim area, no lifeguards the first few days, fewer waiters and food staff and fewer food choices. Grounds Maintenance has decreased and grass noted up to 12 inches tall in places, finally mowed the week before Christmas. Buffets had variety but not as much as in the past. Specialty restaurants hard to book as online times are filled within the first half hour most days.and not all are o [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: A great vacation spot
Everything was great; service, location, etc. Lots of signage and protocols in place for Covid however guests were not practicing safe distancing and I arrived home testing positive for Covid. My stay was two weeks and I remained on the resort.
Vamar Vallarta: Vamar Vallarta
2 out of 5 at best. Terrible food at buffet. Same everyday. Always cold. Very little selection. Italian restaurant very good. Amazing staff throughout the resort. Adult pool needs re-tiled. Sharp edges and came out with multiple scratches/cuts. Resort is dated. No fridge’s in rooms. Beds are hard as a rock.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Good trip
Confusion over room when checking in, but was resolved by Gilberto, with thanks! Pool and grounds very nice, although pool was freezing for first 3 days. Red flag for most days, no ocean swimming. Food, plentiful and great selection, but luke warm at buffet. All Ala carts were really good. The French was our favourite. Maid service, so, so. Some days no towels, but made a call and it was resolved.
