Flamenco was Fabulous!

This resort offered the best in entertainment, customer service and resort beauty. Gardens and overall resort were very well manicured, pool was fabulous and ample room to enjoy pool side. Rooms were really nice and cleaned every day. Fresh towels and bottled water daily as well as hot water. Beach was much better than reviews made it out to be - absolutely gorgeous! We loved Cayo Coco and having the resort 20 min from airport was an added bonus. Not one complaint and hope to be back soon!

Amazing staff, beach, pools and entertainment.

The staff did everything possible to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. The food was great, the pools were well maintained and busy. The beach was wonderful. The rooms were big enough and kept very clean. Had a wonderful time.

Relaxing vacation

Hotel was clean, beds a little hard, linen a little old. Bring facecloths. Hotel needs a policy of letting guests know that you cannot reserve spots on lawn chairs for hours at a time. Found it a challenge to get into a la carte restaurants.

Good Cuban Resort

this resort is good for Cuban standards. the food was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the beach was lovely and the staff were hard working. It was a little busy and hectic in the buffet, and the beach was noisy with unnecessary music. I did not appreciate the group of "spring breakers" that came in partway through the week. They were trying to accommodate this group but this is clearly sold as a family resort, ie. many babies and older people. This should not be happening. Amazing resort

everything about this resort was amazing the people that worked there where so friendly the resort was very clean, I will definitely be going back the food was probably a 6 out of 10 but even if you are a picky eater you will find something to eat.

Absoutely amazing

Very clean rooms, great service from all staff. Grounds are absolutely beautiful. Pool was amazing as was the beach. Evening entertainment/performers were great to watch. Only problem was getting coin from the bank.

We enjoyed ourselves!

The three star is for our overall experience and in comparison to other resorts I've stayed at (both in Cuba and beyond). That said, my family enjoyed every minute we were there. Value for the money we spent was very good. Our expectations were met and there were even a few pleaseant surprises. The staff were excellent - in all cases and areas. The beach was excellent - yes it was rocky to walk in but a minor issue and quickly forgotten - great for beach walking and searching for shells and sea  [... read more]life. Those of my family who spent time at the pool liked it there too. Food / drinks - My family is moderately picky but we could always find something we liked between the snack bar and the buffet. Never tried the a la carte. If the quality of alcohol is important to you then go for the upgrade. We did not and were happy with the drinks we had. Rooms - basic but clean. Rooms were quite and the a/c worked very well. Location - Short ride (20 min) to the airport = very good. Grounds = nice. Beach/water = beautiful. Weather note, we had very windy days for most of the week. Wind could be a turn off for some people.

2 weeks in Paradise

My Fiancee and I stayed at Memories Flamenco, Cayo Coco, Cuba from February 22-March 8/2015. I would rate this resort a strong 4.5 stars. The previous two years, we stayed at Tryp Cayo Coco, just a few kilometers away. We will be returning to Memories again next winter for another 2 weeks in the FRIENDLY surroundings of this beautiful resort. The bartender ORLANDO made it a day to remember. He arranged for a cake and champagne and birthday wishes. Pool staff GREAT, and pool was spotless. Reserve a seat early in morning for day. Grounds: Being in the landscape business, I found the grounds to be very well maintained by a group of extremely hard working gardeners. Plants trimmed, beautiful flowers, EXCELLENT job at keeping landscape looking beautiful. Food: People have no right to complain, something for everyone. Did not try any A La Carte restaurants. Ate at buffet and 24 hour bar. Only complaint with buffet, at breakfast they would run short of some items (scrambled eggs, bacon), and these items would be replaced 15-20 minutes later or not at all. Bacon was under cooked most days. In the evening, O Canada was played in buffet twice in our first week there. The sight of everyone standing and singing our national anthem on Cuban soil was incredible. Second week, we were present for O Canada being played once. Only a handful of people stood and sang....Disgusting display of national pride. Tourists: Pretty well 100% Canadian. This resorts caters to Canadians and it shows. Felt like being home. Doctor: Needed the services of the Dr. 3 times for back pain. She arrived at my room on time and gave me injection for pain. Hour later pain free and asleep. Dr. and nurse very professional and well educated. Rooms: SPOTLESS,SPOTLESS,SPOTLESS. Have never stayed at a resort with rooms as clean as the one we had. If you tip just one person, make it your maid. They all work very hard at maintaining clean living quarters. Same with the public bathrooms on resort, very clean. Pride in their work reflected in appearance of resort. Beach: It's Cuba.....Beach is BEAUTIFUL. A little rocky in some areas but ocean easy to access. Get a seat early morning for the day. Lounge chairs go FAST. Management: Very visible and willing to listen to any feedback (both good and bad). Had a long talk with general manager pointing out what we thought could be improved upon. She took notes and explained why certain things were not quite up to par. Well run resort. Manager boarded our bus prior to leaving for airport and thanked us for staying with Memories....Nice way to end holiday. Entertainment staff: Where to begin? They were all GREAT. Met two great guys who were responsible for entertaining at pool and beach named Ahmad and Karal. Spoke with them everyday . Both very proud of the work they do and it shows. Very eager to learn English so they can converse with tourists even better. We had no problem carrying a conversation with either of them. The dancers at this resort in a "LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN". We have never experienced shows like the ones these dancers put on. They could all dance in Vegas to a packed house EVERY night, they were that good. Michael Jackson show on Tuesday (get to theater 2 hrs prior to show to get a seat), you would believe you were watching the real Michael Jackson. Every movement by Rudney (1 dancer doing Jackson) and his back up dancers was a mirror image of a MJ video. We befriended Rudney and his girlfriend Maria (who is also a dancer in the show). We spent our time with them when they were free (between practice, shows and performances around resort, thes dancers are BUSY) and made a connection with them that only the 4 of us can appreciate. When it came time to say goodbye to them, it was like saying goodbye to a family member. We look forward to renewing our relationship with them next year. The dancers alone are worth the cost of staying at this resort. You have to experience the shows in person to appreciate how talented these individuals are.

Wonderful Experience in Cuba

Resort grounds are beautiful and easy to get around. Rooms required maintenance though. Food was excellent and the beach lovely - some coral on shore but that added to the charm of the resort. Would recommend purchasing the Diamond Club upgrade - well worth the extra $. Evening entertainment was the best I have seen in Cuba. Appreciated that the resort was only a 15 minute ride from the airport. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

Amazing Resort!

What a great vacation! We just spent 2 weeks at the Memories Flamenco Resort in Cayo Coco, Cuba & it was fantastic! The grounds were beautiful & well kept, nice clean rooms, really good food, fantastic beach & pool! The staff & people we met were very polite & friendly. We would love to go back!

Wonderful family resort

My husband and I recently returned from Memories on Mar. 11/2015. This hotel is wonderful with very friendly staff. Grounds were beautiful, food was very good and there were plenty of restaurant choices. This is an excellent resort for families.

Beautiful resort

clean washrooms , nice beach. good drinks, take the diamond club. polite servers ,.awesome pools all around great place. the more pesos you tip the better the service gets. take the local bus tour and flea market!

Awesome

Totally enjoyed my stay! If I could change anything it would be to have more comfortable beds(hard as a rock- and I like a firm mattress) and bedding that fit properly. The bottom sheet was not fitted, too small and every morning I would wake up on the rubbery mattress protector. Gross!

Great resort

Loved it at this resort. We were situated in building 3 and were central to everything. didn't have to walk more than 5 minutes anywhere. Nice clean rooms, staff so accommodating and food was unexpectedly good. Plan to go back next year as my daughter is going to get married there.

Very good resort

Grounds were expansive, food generally had a good variety and good quality. Rooms were spacious although a few glitches with showers and patio doors. Overall I would recommend it and go back. Bring water shoes as first 20 feet of beach is rocky.

Perfect getaway great food

Great service. Great food. Clean resort nice ocean with good shows. Perfect place to take family and friends to relax. I would go again. Exchange rate is a little crazy but other then that it was all around perfect. .....

Beautiful resort

this resort was very nice and the grounds were beautiful rooms were very clean the staff very friendly....would go back.... the ocean was very nice a little rocky but new that before we went...the pools were great and the waiters were great very buddy was so friendly....

Awesome vacation

Awesome vacation, very good services at Memories Flamenco, the food was very tasty and beyond our expectations. Would recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and big. We did all four à la carte dining, the creole was our favorite. The only negative remark would be that they didn't have fresh orange juice (mango juice instead).

Definitely Not a 4.5 Star

For starters, we travel a couple of times a year and this was the first time in awhile we travelled with Sunwing.....definitely not impressed! Transit is the way to go. From the start our plane was delayed four hours, that wasn't the problem, Sunwing opted not to advise us until after we were suppose to board when they knew hours before. The resort is definitely dated, the Jr Suite is nothing spectacular, couldn't imagine what a regular room consisted of. Our view over looking the resort was the [... read more] best thing about our room. The grounds were dry, and not very well manicured, only seen two landscapers the whole week we were there. The service was good, if you got it! There wasn't enough staff anywhere, the buffet only had two staff per section, if you got asked for a beverage you were lucky, the food was basic, bacon everyday raw, two days the salad bar actually had lettuce and a normal dressing, like who puts mustard on their salad!! The way the buffet was set up was absolutely ridiculous. The snack bar had the best food, and probably the best service in the whole establishment. The main lobby bar usually had three bartenders and two servers, yes, I said two, and they waited on the lobby, the two outside patios and the Theatre. There was never a drink that was made the same way, even if you ordered two at a time, they tasted different, figure that out! Icy drinks, were never icy, pina coladas were disgusting. The best part about the resort was the weather, absolutely a beautiful hot sunny week, the beach wasn't bad, first time we never upgraded to Diamond Club, that would have been a huge waste of money, the beach for Diamond Club was nothing but coral and very narrow. The beach bar on a regular basis by mid day was completely out of ice, hot days, warm drinks, that's what you want on vacation!!! The way back, we are all at the airport, see our plane, two hours pass boarding, we start to board, no announcements, no Sunwing reps to ask what is going on, just terrible service. Will we ever travel Sunwing again......Never. Cuba/ Cayo Coco is a wonderful place to travel, been there many times, so this bad experience won't leave a bad taste with us, but Sunwing Vacations will never be an option again. The hotel should be rated no more then a 3.5 * .

Great resort and good value for your money

The hotel is fairly large with lovely grounds. Beach area does have lots of coral but still easy access to the water. Rooms were great and maid service was exceptional. Could of used more services at the beach, one small bar and grill isn't enough for the amount of people this resort holds. Maybe some more areas of shade around the pool would be helpful. Overall, a great place to spend a week.
