Riu Playa Blanca: Amazing beach

We were there Jan 26 for 2 weeks, 9 people. This was our first Riu and from other guests not up to Riu standards. Elevator only held 4 people. Washrooms far from the beach and pool areas. Children over powdered the swim up bar. Loungers being held from 6 am. Food was okay always plenty. Steakhouse only good restaurant. Beach was lovely and long. You are on the Pacific black lava sand. Bar staff and front desk great. All spoke English. If you are expecting Sandals don't go. Good for the money you [... read more] paid. Great landing at the new airport 10 minute drive. Rooms clean. No shampoos or lotions in rooms so bring it. Too big of a resort for our liking. Lines every where. Have bath tubs and showers only so request what you want as we did. Also requested lower floors so we could use the stairs. They met our requests. Did requests by email. Not for singles! Evening entertainment was okay. Disco fun.

Riu Playa Blanca: Panama - Rio Hato - RIU - new hotel

Hotel was new, really nice, very modern and very clean. Food was very good. 4 pools. Only disappointment was the beach, the water was no clear and very dark in color, couldnt see through the water and the sand is a greyish colour otherwise resort was great.

Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort

Good food. Good drinks. Well maintained resort. We had no issues at all. You must remember that countries like this do not have a high as standards as we Canadians. However they treat you well and rooms are standard but clean. This resort is very concerned about security so if u have your door open they will call u to close even if u r in it. But that protects them as well as you. BIGGEST downfall is distance from airport. Would be nice if transatlantic holidays would get flying rights into the  [... read more]close airport. Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort

Food: I am a very picky eater, however I was almost always able to find something to eat that I enjoyed. The El Cayuco was by far my favorite restaurant. Service: Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. My boyfriend has a peanut allergy and we found them to be very accomodating in regards to this issue.

Grand Decameron Panama: Great Spot - For sure will come back

Hotel was great / Food was Great... Drinks were great..... This resort is very large and lots to do. Be prepared for lots of walking but there are shuttles available as well.... Must go to Woodys bar on the beach !

Hard Rock Megapolis: Incredible hotel !!!

I can not begin to tell you what a great time I had !! Room with balcony on 54th floor with an amazing view of harbor. Food was very good and service was friendly and helpfull. I will go back for sure

Riu Playa Blanca: Riu Playa Blanca

It was very organized, service was excellent, the resort was kept extremely clean at all times Evening entertainment was great Food was excellent The only thing I would complain about was that the Internet should be a minimal charge with a certain time limit, instead of USD5.00/half hour also computers were in a sports bar, where it is noisy. We had a great time and I would recommend the resort to others.

Playa Blanca Resort: A lovely get-away

7 day stay was very enjoyable. Only 15 minutes from the new Rio Hato airport. Hotel facilities were adequate and staff was friendly and helpful although language was a bit of a problem. Spanish is the language of choice and very few employees understand English. The resort is lovely with grounds well maintained. It appears that the renovation of rooms is in progress and when this is completed the resort will be hard to beat. Food was OK with the most enjoyable meals at the al-a-cartes. Italian & [... read more] steak house were both very good. Overall this was an enjoyable vacation away from the Canadian winter.

Royal Decameron-Hard Rock Hotel: Absolutely Beautiful!!

The resort was spectacular. The rooms were bright, clean and very spacious. The employees were always smiling and very friendly. The grounds were impeccable, and tidy. We were impressed with how organized and efficient all areas were from check-in to meals, swimming, tours etc. were . Absolutely exceeded our expectations! A trip we look forward to taking again with our whole family.

Playa Blanca Resort: Beautiful resort

The resort was clean, the grounds beautiful, the staff helpful. When we asked for something to be fixed it was done promptly. The activities staff made us feel very welcome and sometimes set up special classes for us.

This resort was a pleasant surprise after the negative reports others had given it. We traveled with a group of experienced travelers and found this resort meet our expectations. We found the food varied and tasty. The service was efficient regardless of our needs

Dreams Playa Bonita Panama: We were disappointed

It took 3 hours to get to the resort due to traffic. It was stop and go half the way. There was a long line up to check in. The hotel was not aware of our arrivals from Sunwing. The room is nice with everything working. The balcony is nice too with ocean view, etc. The ground is immaculate. There is enough lounge chairs for everyone. The food is good but monotonous (we were there for 2 weeks). The lobby bar is excellent. There is almost no activities in the evening. This is really a business [... read more] hotel.

Grand Decameron Panama: Well worth the trip to Panama!

My 23-year old daughter and I recently returned from this resort and had a wonderful time. The resort is well laid out; the pools are numerous and beautiful (particularly the infinity pool which was situated close to our room); and the proximity to the ocean is fantastic. We would definitely go again and would recommend this resort to our friends. The food and service were average (as expected) in our opinion -- not terrible, not great.

Grand Decameron Panama: Paradise

The Royal Decamaron is a beautiful, sprawling resort. There are plenty of excellent dining options, however seafood was our favourite. In terms of the service, the staff was kind and helpful. Lots of pools and a vast beach to lounge around. If you plan on doing any tours I would recommend the Panama Canal/City Tour.

Grand Decameron Panama: Fun for everybody

Stayed at the DeCameron dec 15-22/14, with my 19 yr old friend, I was 18 at the time. Tons to do for all ages. Great food, great disco, tons of security everywhere. Did not feel unsafe anywhere with all the cameras around. Lots of pools (however the latest one closes at 10pm). Huge language barrier, but we could get by. Definitely worth the money we paid. Lots of culture, 2 minute walk from a little village and 15 minute walk from another village. Nice beach, nice staff, lots to do and see. Nigh [... read more]tly show was in Spanish, but there was kareoke every night, then a kids show, then normal show, disco started up around 11-11:30 at night and ran until about 3:30-4am with food after. Lots of games going on during the day in the pools, but they sectioned off the activities for different ages pretty good. Trips/excursions booked through the hotel were very pricey (1/2 hr seadooing: $55, 1hr atving: $65/$70). Barter whenever possible! Peacocks and iguanas everywhere, pretty cool. Room was very nice and very big, cleaned every day very well. Had a blast, I would go back.

Gamboa Rainforest Resort: Rainforest heaven but service less than idyllic

As nature and birding buffs, we ADORE this place, but we know there will be sacrifices. The exact same breakfast buffet 4 days in a row, and mediocre service by the wait staff at the restaurant are two major drawbacks. We were also overcharged at the front desk, after they got their credit card terminals to work (took a day). This beautiful hotel is unparallelled in its nature offerings but with just a few touches it could be so much better.

Bijao Beach Resort: very good

Nice beach, nice rooms, good food, nice people, good service.gooooooooooooooood, But not so interesting excursions. All benefits are from location and quality of beach and water. Reviews can be short, it is irritating to wright only to complete it.

Royal Decameron-Hard Rock Hotel: WOWSERS EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

The staff at this resort need to learn some english to at least help with simple communication and assisting their guests (only negative). The beach, the grounds, the food and the room are wonderful. The city was safe, i walked everywhere, the mall is less than 10 minutes walking briskly and has everything you could want. The waterfront is gorgeous and 15 minutes walking and then miles to explore. The canal was an awesome experience and worth every moment. Overall, Panama was the place to go and this was a great way to see both, the country and the city. My friend and I could not have had a better experience! PS you will learn spanish in this city you have no choice!!! ENJOY!!!

Dreams Playa Bonita Panama: Awesome staff

We stayed at this resort nov 14 to 21 2014. We found all of the staff eager to help us all of the time. Location was good. Close to Panama City and the Canal.the beach and the infinity pool were good. We were on 4th floor and all rooms faced the ocean. The grounds were beautiful. Well looked after. Very clean.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great place

excellent, good food, great weather, very hot, clean resort, friendly people, love the short distance with the new airport, nice rooms, the only down fall when my wife and I were there , the swim up pool was under construction and not open. Besides that had a wonderful vacation and we will go back. We are beach people but like going into the pool to cool off only.
