Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing resort and Staff

The whole experience was great, the staff was very helpful and the resort grounds beautiful and the food is amazing. Exactly what you want out of a holiday in the sun and the beach. Would go back in a minute.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Experience

Beautiful grounds. Awesome pool and swim up bar. Lots of variety for bars, restaurant and at buffet. Service was great. Rooms a tiny bit outdated but still very clean and enjoyable. If you’re a coffee lover you’d have to look off resort!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: A great resort

This is a beautiful resort. Very clean. A beautiful big clean beach. You can walk on soft sand. There are activities available. Great drinks. The food was very good and fresh. The staff were available to help. The Theatre was big and had good entertainment. The disco was small but we had fun there. The Sports bar was small but had good food and the staff were nice. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Enjoyable resort

Enjoyed size of resort. Very clean. Nice room. Liked water stations. Enjoyed food. Hated the wine. Nice pool. Was windy so beach water was a little weedy. Friendly staff. Unfortunately I got sick o third night of stay which resulted in my being in bed for 30 hours. Then had to eat limited bland food and not drink for most of the rest of my stay. Sanctuary Cap Cana Luxury Collection Adults Resort: Wonderful Week

We had a wonderful week at Sanctuary Cap Cana once again! We stayed at this resort back in 2021 and were lucky to stay here again this past month. It was as beautiful and relaxing as I remembered. The staff is amazing and extremely accommodating. The only downside to the trip this time around is the way they are now doing reservations for dinner at certain restaurants. You have to make reservations at 2 restaurants on the resort, and not at the 2 others. The entire reservation process is extreme [... read more]ly confusing and takes a long time to do and after sitting with the concierge for an hour to make 2 reservations, as the day(s) came around for the reservations, they were apparently no where to be found and we were told we were out of luck and no longer had an option to dine there. It is an unnecessarily complicated and ineffective process. This system was not in place the last time we stayed and it honestly tainted our stay overall because of the frustration. We have stayed at resorts that had either no reservations at any restaurants and were first come first serve AND also at resorts that were reservations for all dining. Either is fine. But this system they’ve adopted is not good at all and would probably affect my choices to stay again, I was that frustrated and disappointed with it.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Very good resort

Big clean rooms. Not enough lounge chairs and umbrellas. Need more shaded areas by the pool; suggest awnings. We'll kept grounds. Entertainment too late at night for some people. At the beginning the food was too salty but was okay once we pointed it out. Service was very good in the restaurants and bars.

Punta Cana Princess: Very Relaxed Vibe, Great Staff, more like a 3+Star

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Punta Cana Princess. The staff are all wonderful and go above & beyond to provide anything you desire. The resort is small, average age is 40+, relaxed vibe, some night life/music but no disco. Beach area is lovely and nice big pool, you don't feel crowded in any area. As mentioned in the title, the resort is not what I think of in a 5* category, so I would say it is more of a 3+/4 maybe- just to set your expectations realistically. Grounds are very well kept, and it is a short walk between rooms, buffet, restaurants, beach, etc. Food at the buffet and snack bar was decent. Restaurant food was much better and nice to not need reservations! Definitely recommend this for dinners. Beer is Presidente, liquors are no name unless you upgrade to VIP. Although personally I don't that it's worth $35/USD per day, we were fine with no name/generic liquors. Nice that you have to option to visit the 2 family resorts, them seem more up to date style wise and have a coffee bar & ice cream shop to visit. Trolly available, or short walk on the beach. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a nice low-key getaway and doesn't mind not having all the bells & whistles- if the price is right, grab it for a relaxed holiday!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful views, serene location

We thoroughly enjoyed our travel to Samana and our stay at the Eurostars Grand Cayacoa. Staff was very helpful and gracious, food was good, bathrooms and plumbing had more to be desired (we lost water one day, sometimes it would be cold), but it was quickly resolved. It was a smaller hotel with two restaurants, a spa, one pool and a lovely small beach. We spent most of our time at the beach and had a fantastic time. There is an elevator that goes down to the beach which was out of service for a  [... read more]few days, so the staff set up a shuttle service for those who needed it. The alternative was a scenic staircase (great for steps!). On a particularly calm day on the water, we had many tropical fish come right up to the beach and it was the most amazing experience. A bridge over the water also allowed us to watch the wildlife below and many people saw manta rays! We only saw fish and starfish on the day we went, but it was fantastic. If you get lucky, you may even see whales from that bridge in the bay of Samana. Overall, I highly recommend this location, hotel and Samana. Would love to return. Frantz from the front desk was very helpful. Jennifer, Mambo and Madeline from the entertainment crew + the dance troupe were all amazing. They work hard all day to entertain, and they do a great job of it!

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: NOT A SANDALS RESORT.....BUT A VERY CLOSE SECOND!

We have been to several southern resorts over the years (Panama, Jamaica, Puerto Plata, Bermuda, etc). The Majestic Elegance is by far the absolute best resort we have ever been to (excluding Sandals - in Bermuda). Here's the thing........IT WAS HALF THE PRICE!!!!!!! Dollar for dollar, this is the absolute best bang for the buck anywhere south of Texas/Florida. Full stop. The food was not bad, it just wasn't great. It was okay. Otherwise, we had zero complaints. Would strongly recommend and plan to return (as many of the guest we spoke to said they are repeat clients). 100% you will enjoy here unless you don't like heat and sunshine......and we are a very fussy and particular couple.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Nice resort.

Happy that it was adults only. The food was pretty tasty. pleased there was lettuce with every meal. The A/C worked well. Older people don’t sleep, so the loungers on the beach were taken before 7AM. A lot of smokers, and lobster people that didn’t leave the swim up pool bar. Jahovah only knows how many ppl used it as a toilet. I stuck to the beach.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Amazing resort and trip advice

The resort was great we upgraded to the bouganville which was also amazing! Only thing I would change is the air Canada rep falsely advertising excursions but other than that all and all a great experience from day one booking right till getting home

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Going back

Will absolutely return, which is the best recommendation I can think of. Trip Central's Monique, was a great help with the booking to help put our minds at ease by answering all our questions so we could enjoy our trip.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Gone Downhill Since Last Visit Six Years Ago!!

The title says it all. Our room 8211 was old and decrepit. Maid service was good. Initially we had no hot water, but that was remedied a day or two later. The toilet was broken and kept running after being flushed. I reported it to the front desk but nothing was done about it. The mini bar contained only water and one beer and two bottles of pop. That's it. The beach was very nice, however beach chairs were scarce as were the chairs by the pool most of which were broken. The pool was dirty  [... read more]and the deck tiles were loose and/or broken. There were no servers to take drink orders so if you wanted something we got in line and were served eventually. Food at the main buffet was mediocre at best no matter the theme. We skipped the a la carte restaurants after some people became ill after eating at the Chinese restaurant. The lady who made breakfast omelettes was excellent as was the pasta chef at lunch or dinner. Most people I spoke with were less than satisfied with Villas Doradas. Not going back.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Lovely Adults-Only experience

Secrets Tides was a beautiful resort, lovely facilities and great beach. Buffet was very good, restaurants were a bit of a mixed bag, some very good some just okay. Adult-only vibe made it much easier to make friends as people weren't preoccupied with their kids and we enjoyed the relative peacefulness. Only serious detraction was the ridiculous "reserving" of pool loungers at stupid times in the morning for the whole day whether people were actually in the pool or not. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: amazing resort

I just returned from a week at this resort and was enjoying my time so much, I didn't want to leave. The staff are awesome, from the front lobby, motor lobby, cleaning staff, buffet staff, bar tenders and entertainment staff. Everyone was very helpful and ready to make our stay the best it could be. I can't wait to book another week. I have recommended this resort to a few people since I returned.

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: okay resort

room was okay, air conditioning was broken and no one came to fix it after being asked, lots of workers try to get you to take a “tour”, which is a 3 hour waste of time trying to upgrade you for money

Punta Cana Princess: Clean, quiet, pretty resort

Small, clean, quiet, pretty resort. Grounds and pool immaculate. Rooms a bit tired and worn but bright and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.Food not outstanding but access to resort next door provides variety of restaurants. If you are looking for a quiet holiday where everything is within easy walking distance this is your spot.

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Mediocre Resort

Very disappointed. First day there we were solicited by one of the staff claiming to take us on a "tour" of the resort so we would know where we could and couldn't go. Incidentally, even though Trip Central and Lifestyle's website say you can venture between the two, there are a lot of areas you can't. Turned out this was a scam to get us across the street to try and hard sell us a very expensive membership to a club. Another couple we spoke to said they were held for three hours in a separate room against there will and when they tried to leave the resort employee called his manager for additional intimidation. The beach was not great. There is an upper level equipped with pagodas which are very comfortable and a good bar where the food is acceptable. Pools are nice and the foam party is lots of fun ! The buffet is excellent with most foods available every day. Rooms are very dated and the resort is noisy all the time even at night when the peacocks start there wailing (didn't know they even made such a racket ).If you are looking for a place to relax this is NOT the place to be !

Hotel was great, very clean, resort overall is very big, food was very tasty as well, chairs were always an issue, not having enough chairs for everyone, people coming early morning before the sun even comes up to save chairs and sometimes not being in the for must of the day, not fair for other vacationers that spend the same amount of money to be at this resort.
