Paradisus Punta Cana: Paradise at Paradisus!!

Top notch resort whose employees go out of their way to please you. Grounds impeccable, rooms very clean and food certainly 5 star. Royal Service wonderful if in your budget. Large white sand beach area, great swimming, no rocks

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Not too bad ...

I traveled with my friend and her mom the last week of March. Our flight was delayed so we only arrived at hotel around 11pm. They had upgraded my friends but left me on the opposite end of the resort in a room by myself.. after much discussion and involvement of our sunwing rep Santo, they finally moved us close to one another. The front desk staff are not very obliging or accommodating as a rule... money talks I guess. The food was good as were the rooms. We played the towel game for chairs with security and had great loungers every day. The vendors in the beach as well as the picture with my monkey were a pain in the butt!! they were only allowed up so far and then at 5 they turned into drug dealers. not so fun. Beach was great as was the water.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great time, beautiful grounds, but a bit too big for my taste

I should start by saying I traveled with my family of 5; my husband, 4 year old, 2 year old and 9 month old, and I specifically picked this resort as it is one of the ONLY resorts in the Caribbean that INCLUDES kids club for kids starting at age 8 months. The kids club was terrific. We also paid for evening babysitters and we had Cynthia each night and she was terrific and we fully trusted her. The hotel itself was beautiful and the grounds were impeccably maintained, but just when I compare it  [... read more]to other resorts I've been to (without kids) some comments I have are as follows: the pool was too deep - had to walk on tip toe to get to the bar, and could hardly drink your drink while standing in the pool (i'm 5'8); the only restaurant by the pool/beach/family rooms closed at 6pm, and it only offered a 'snack bar' dinner. If you wanted a the full buffet dinner (ie. With vegetables, desserts, grilled meats, etc.) you had to take the trolley/golf cart up to the main lobby (about 3-5 minutes depending on how many times you stop) and the main buffet only opened at 6pm. In theory that might not sound bad, but with small children it made it difficult to get a good dinner meal in when bedtime routine starts at 630ish. I was disappointed with breakfast, but was quite happy with the lunch and dinner buffets, and the a la carte dinners. Rooms were great, family rooms were large with a second area for kids to sleep - this area was part of the main room, but separated by drapes (sheers, actually - I would recommend switching from sheers to drapes for more privacy for parents). The resort was just a bit too big for my liking, as it was about a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants and bars, all of which were up at the main lobby. Even without kids it just wasn't convenient to say 'let's go eat', or grab a drink...and the trolley/train that loops through the grounds doesn't seem to be on any schedule...it might be a 5 minute wait, might be 15 - although there were often golf carts that would drive by and offer to pick you up. I was also surprised that the dance club didn't open until 12am. Where I've been previously, it would open after the entertainment, at 1030 or 11, so that was a bit later than expected. But, there were some good options throughout the lobbies for entertainment - djs, live music, karaoke (too much in my opinion), salsa dancing, etc., and the traditional shows/nightly entertainment in the theater was less of a focal point. Overall the staff were friendly, but I didn't find that tipping either helped or hurt the service. Language was a bit of a barrier, which was to be expected. The kids had a great time, we had a great time, but I personally would select a smaller resort the next time around (assuming they have a kids club that works for all of my kids by the time we travel again!) thanks Melia for a great week!!!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

Very nice resort. Rooms clean and comfortable. AMAZING pool, great buffet at beach, enjoyed breakfast and lunch here with amazing beach/ocean views. Reliable Wi-Fi throughout the resort. Main pool was great for kids. Pool was large with lots of fun areas. Lots of activities at pool and bartenders at pool were very good to make the kids mocktails. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort but really huge

Melia Caribe Tropical is a great resort with beautiful nature( plants, trees, flamingos and peacocks), great decorations, very good food and free WIFI all over. We had some minor problems with our room but they were quickly solved by resort's staff after our arrival. We had a great weather and very good time. The only thing we found the resort really huge, needed few days to know our way around and had to use trains to get to beach . Thank you for all your assistance.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Our third time to this resort

This was our third time to this beautiful resort. 2013 & 2015 our two sons, two daughter-in-laws and two grandsons enjoyed the resort. 2017 another grandson (8 Months) old joined our crew. The weather was perfect as always. We all loved our accommodations. We attended three al-cart restaurants and enjoyed all of them. The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: 5 ***** Star, as promised!

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana was exactly as promised .... 5 star luxury! Able to take advantage of all amenities of the larger Paradisus Punta Cana side knowing you can come back to the peace and quiet of The Reserve. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing!!!!!!!

We were very impressed with this resort from the moment we entered the lobby. The staff approached us to take a drink order from us immediately which we were pleasently surprised. Also the staff was always very polite and could not help us enough if and when we needed help. I have a disability and needed a wheelchair (which was provided immediately)to move around the premises as walking too far tires me out quickly. My husband was very impressed with this also. The only downfall was that th [... read more]e resorts walkways were cobbles and it's very hard to push a wheelchair across these everyday for a week but my husband is a trooper as am I and just being at this resort smoothed this over for us. Between the lush tropical surroundings,well manicured premises,peacocks roaming around and the other exotic birds It seemed like we hit paradise. I would definately recommend this resort to everyone. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful resort!

The Melia was a gorgeous resort. The grounds were beautiful. Plants and gardens everywhere. We enjoyed walking the many paths and taking wonderful pictures of the many ponds, fountains and wildlife. The food was amazing. Lots of variety and excellent meals. I can not think of anything I didn't enjoy. The beach was great! the whitest sand, so nice to walk on with bare feet. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Huge resort

Hotel grounds were immaculate and the service was great. They actually have people ask you how the service is every day. We ended up upgrading to the Level-Adults only because we were placed in a room at the Melia Caribe Tropical in the building furthest from the beach. The bed was really uncomfortable (worn and lumpy) and there was a peacock that kept us up all night squawking. Unfortunately I ended up paying double the price I would have paid at booking via Trip Central because I had to make the change at the resort and pay in USD instead of Canadian. I really wish someone had told us that the resort was so huge that you need to be transported by golf cart or train to get around. Honestly would have taken us 20 minutes to walk anywhere in the original room. We definitely would have not enjoyed our trip if we did not upgrade to the Level.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort.

This resort was excellent in all aspects. It was very, very clean which is important to me. The beach was beautiful. The food was so delicious with a great variety of different foods. The service was impeccable. No matter where we were, the staff always had such a big smile, very courteous and helpful. The grounds were exceptional. The entertainment was absolutely great. Zel Cozumel: Great holiday

The hotel was very nice. Smaller resort and good food. Booked the Premium Oceanfront room and just to be clear the room is located on the 9th to 11th floor in the tower. If you are not good with heights this is not the Room for you. We upgraded and were given the Royal Suite room located right on the beach. Lovely room close to the beach. Would highly recommend.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Awesome resort

The hotel was perfect! It was very clean, the food on the buffet was amazing, the staff truly made this resort the awesome place it is. From the beautiful beach, the pool, the bars, the food, the people, the accommodations it was very difficult to say goodbye!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Mostly Good

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Buffet and A La Carte restaurants were excellent.Very well kept facility.Toilets require 2-3 flushes every time.Service was Ok with mixed staff reactions...little eye contact polite but begrudging service style.Check in was brutal....totally understaffed...no explanation about baggage routines....stressful and borderline rude

Stayed here the week of march 25. Beautiful resort as I was there 4 years ago but this time there was a huge change in the service u received. No pool side bartender that came around while in ur chair and no beach side service either. Also the quality and variety of food has declined as well. Our room was great no complaints there and the trolley was very frequent. Check in took longer than expected but check out was quick. I would ? Going bk there in the future

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing resort!

It was a great first experience! Simply breathtaking! The agent was amazing...people at resort were amazing! Very memorable trip in deed! I would highly recommend this resort in fact I am every time someone asks about the trip! We will consider going back with the family as many as possible...my niece is looking for a wedding venue so it's a good possibility that this is the resort!

The hotel was super clean. Food amazing. Service A+. This was our first trip to Punta Cana and we must say that this hotel is going to be hard to beat. Sungwing was a bit of a different. Tour bus took forever to get us to the airport amd sunwing almost left us behind because they were having problems with their system.
