Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Amazing! Will absolutely come back!

The food was great, a different buffet theme every night. The water park was FANTASTIC! beach was always clean and beautiful. The grounds were always being maintained, and the staff always friendly. Pool is large and very kid friendly. Only complaint would be that the pool bar closes at 6 and pool itself closed at 630. We found this very disappointing, but overall would absolutely recommend this resort to families!

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Grand Palladium Bavaro

Hotel and rooms are tired, but were under renovations. Staff was very good and friendly. Beach was excellent, but too many vendors selling on it. It will be very nice after reno. Others in our party had some room issues.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Nice resort !

Overall the resort was good. The beach was well taken care of compared to other resorts. The only complaints I would have would be : getting bigger bills changed for smaller bills for tipping was difficult they would try to say that they didn't have change this was almost a daily battle.when upgrading to a VIP room was great only complaint there was that they say you get $200 resort credit when we went to use them it was not at all what we were told, they ended up being a gimmick to spend more m [... read more]oney. Paradisus Punta Cana: Amazing resort

It was fabulous! We truly enjoyed our vacation. Service was very good. The grounds are amazing. The rooms very clean. The food and drinks are really good with a wide selection. Thank you Miranda for booking this vacation for us.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good and bad....no ugly

Starting with the good....Hotel rooms are nice but you can tell a refresh will be needed soon. Resort is very close to the beach if you enjoy swimming in the ocean. Although, there was a lot of seaweed in our area of the beach which seemed to be difficult for the staff to control (although they didn't work too hard). The same seaweed pile was raked over and over LOL. Food was good. A lot of choices at the buffets and at the a la carte restaurants. Although, the same hotel chain we went to last year in DR at the same time served lobster?? Now the bad...SERVICE was POOR to say the least. I have to say it was this hotel in general and not the hotel chain. We received great service last year at the same hotel chain but in another part of DR. The concierge were rude in all bookings. It wasn't just one person. They all seemed unhappy. They made you feel like you were a bother. The hotel front desk was a slightly better but still poor service. When we arrived, they put us in a room facing the construction of a new hotel. The workers seemed to work all night. The hotel did move us the next day but it begs the question why would they put you there in the first place. If a hotel wants you to come back, they should make a first good impression. We asked to replace an iron multiple times and asked for an ironing board (no board in 2nd room). After several attempts, we got the new iron but no ironing board. The first iron had some material stuck to the bottom of it and was ruining our clothes. One day, our room wasn't cleaned and the fridge wasn't restocked. Sorry, that should never happen. The hotel did send someone to clean it after. The front desk wasn't flexible with providing change for large bills. First time we went to change bills, they told us to come back because the person in charge of the money wasn't there (I found this odd). When we came back (much later in the day), they could only provide us change for $100 US. Restaurant service at the buffet was extremely poor. At morning buffet, no one would come and ask you if you wanted coffee. If you didn't ask, you didn't receive. The pool bar service was excellent if you were a young girl (I am not) :( Not part of this assessment, but thought I would shout out anyway, Air Transit sucks. Both trips, this year and last, our plane was delayed 1 hr and I didn't get the seats that I paid for.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Best experience ever

Cabt wait to go again. So much to do. Loved it. People friendly. Food okay. Only issue keycards continued to stop working. And food was cold. Specialty restaurants great. Loved the japenese restaurant. Boogies ride definately worth it. So much to do.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort on a beautiful beach!

This was a beautiful lush well kept resort with amazing staff. Louis the beach bar tender the best and always had a smile and a welcoming greeting. :) There were two events that took place the week we were there that basically shut down the main buffet. The employees were run off their feet trying to keep up with the back log, as this was definitely a poor management decision.

I wrote a long review on trip advisor so i am just going to copy and paste it here. In short, Fantasia exceeded the good things I had read about it, and the bad things I had read did not seem to exist for us there. We stayed a family of 3 adults, an 8 year old and a 2 year old, June 02-09/17. We are definitely going back as a family and just adults. We arrived at around 9:45 pm, so unfortunately we missed the tail end of dinner buffet, however the check in was fast and room service came pretty quick compared to what i have read from others. Orlando at the front desk checked us in with adjoining rooms for my family and brother. We had requested ground floor poolview prior to arriving however they couldn't make it adjoining so we spent the first night on the opposite side upstairs but the next afternoon we were given the first room on the first floor, with pool view beside the kids club which was perfect. Bravo Orlando! We got the kids to bed and my brother and I roamed up to the lobby bar which is gorgeous... And were surprised to see our selection of liquors, very nice selection. Draft beer wasn't bad at all either. The bartender Raime was awesome to us. I didn't see any rude bartenders but I always saw Raime there the entire trip. So he was the go to there. The next morning we all woke up in paradise. Really hot paradise lol. We ate breakfast at the Larimar every day though we had the option to go to the circus aswell. The food at the Larimar we better then any buffet we have in Hamilton and surrounding. Breakfast was good everyday, nobody complained and we actually looked forward to those meals which is funny because I am not a scheduled breakfast eater at all. Lunch was great at both the lobby buffet (larimar) and the circus buffet. We booked a few a la carts starting with the circus (which is only open without reservation for breakfast and lunch, for dinner you need to reserve). I booked the a la cartes 3 weeks ahead and they had them all set up at guest services, however after having dinner at our buffet, we only committed to the circus reserve because the food was so good at the buffet that we didn't want to risk it lol. We had multiple different servers and some were pulling doubles and triples meaning we had them 3 meals in a row over 2 days. Every one of them was friendly to us and yes some had a language barrier but we always figured it out or they would grab someone who spoke it nearby so there was never ever an issue with our food or sevice. (I had google translator with me and maybe used it 5 times for detailed drinks over one week). Shout out to Mally, Louis, and Kelvin at the Larimar, Thanks for your Positivity! The grounds were probably over well kept, Marble tile everywhere. I've never seen people working so frequently doing landscaping and maintenance. It is crazy hot and these guys are trimming bushes with scissors and smashing up dark interlok with railway pins and mini sledge hammers. Yes there were a few little things worn but its brand new, it needs to settle, if you could walk from the lobby to the castle without seeing people working out there I will pay you. For the kids, this place had everything. Two waterparks (one at fantasia, one at turquesa) for them to use, the fantasia pool is huge and is shallow for a while so small kids have lots of space to play, same pool has the swim up bar at opposite end, at the base of the big castle. Parks, arcade, shows, facepainting, popsicles, freezies, jugglers, video games, pretty much enough to keep any kid busy. Free wifi for the lazy ones lol. The beach was the nicest ive been on, few days of twigs washing up but never murky or that busy really. I could see it being busy in the winter seasons but fantasia has their own section on the beach with a bar, lunch buffet, and servers that leave you always finding a nice shady spot! The beach bar for the Fantasia was probably where I got the best service. I wont forget Juan Zarzuela, Kelvin, and David. They were just all sorts of happy. After our first visit to the beach we were calling each other family and I wish they worked everywhere. Davids english was a bit better however we had no problem working thru the language barrier with Juan and Kelvin. I see these guys pulling these hours in long sleeves and black pants hiking through the sand with 15 drinks on a tray just pouring sweat and some people complain. The world would be better if people like Kelvin had more opportunity. The room was perfect, weather perfect, food perfect, service perfect, facilities perfect, service perfect, Vacation perfect. See yous in 2018-forever!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Beautiful resort, bad service

We stayed for a week from June 2 to 9, the resort is beautiful, however is lacking good service. The buffet has s variety to choose from from breakfast, however lunch and dinner not so great.. even the device while seated, we had to ask for cutlery for our table most of the time, they hardly come back and check if you need anything.. won't be going back nor would recommend to anyone else

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Gorgeous resort

Fanastia was well kept grounds, they clean your room almost twice a day. Around 6pm there's maid service giving you more clean towels. Food was great but would be nice to know that the French restaurant had a very strict dress code but in that heat no one wore long pants. The entertainment was amazing. The teen club was never opened for my older son. But the travel agent went beyond just booked my flight. She kept me in touch quickly when I need answers.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good value

The resort was great but the effort Tripcentral made for our request was very lacking.Ambar green was only about 75%full and we were put in the old section on the third floor where the shower was in the hot tub very unsafe for seniors.We were able to change rooms ourselves very easily.I would not recommend tripcentral any more.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Superb!

The resort was absolutely amazing. The hotel, the food, the pool, the sun and staff were great! Everything was close and convenient. The staff were pleasant and kind. Clean with a bunch of activities to do for any family. A heartbeat away!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Not worth it!!! Really bad resort

I don't want to be a party pooper BUT I must say what I think about this resort because we also work hard to pay off a week of vacation, some of us overpay for what we get here, I'm not a picky person at all, this was my 4th time in Punta Cana and this resort isn't a 4 1/2 as they said, this is more like a 3 star. Check in was sweet and short Loved it, until you get caught by these Yellow shirt guys that make it look so fun until he tells you that you are getting a "welcome breakfast" a breakfa [... read more]st that you paid already lol.. but to really sale you timeshare, I was straight up with him because I knew what it was but he continue bugging asking for a time for it so I gave it to him, the next day he was there waiting (even when I told him that I wasn't interested) then he gets all mad because we didn't want to go and we also had an excursion to go to! Well buddy Too bad, I went there for a vacation not to waste half of my day with you. The rooms were basic but clean, they cleaned everyday, we had two rooms and in one of them my sister found a cockroach on the bed! Yuck! The buffet food was just ok. You can find something to eat, but it was always the same food or food from the previous night, Breakfast was always My favourite, the Omelet guy "Marcos always have a smile for you" and I loved it. The servers in the buffet area are very pleasant and always smiling, a big Thank You to Roldán, Carlos (El Comandante) y Julio who made our mornings wonderful, full of laughs! Keep up the good work. The restaurants were good, the steak house was good, again thank you Julio and Jovanni, and the Italian was ok. Again I don't like these "first come, first serve" it doesn't work like that, they should make reservations for us like most resorts do in Punta Cana, not being in a huge line up to get a table of 8 people, insane... oh and you better be there by 5 pm to eat a decent meal... Mike coffee was really good! The entertainment was poor, I'm not sure if it was because of low season as they said, not entertainment for kids at all, but it needs a big improvement. The pools were nice, our favourite place to hang out. The beach.... the beach.... you know! We paid all these money for the beach (at least I do because I don't have a beach here) but it was a big disappointment (even tho I knew what to expected) but it is more worse then expected... the beach in that area is gorgeous but at this resort is BAD and those sand bags made look really bad, i understand why they did it but the smell in the morning is bad, I'm not sure if it is because of the sand bags or the amount of seed weeds that gets accumulated around these bags, Yes, some guys try to clean the beach but also with little bags and a broom is brutal for them, they should get a small truck to help out to clean this beach constantly at least. The buffet lunch at the beach it wasn't good, not food or BBQ at the beach like many resorts do, example: paella, fish, roast pig etc.... The guy who makes the panini I don't think he wants to work there maybe they should get him another job, he was a very boring Person to deal with compare to other employees. I love Punta Cana, like I told them that's my second home but this resort isn't worth it... I love Dominican people and I will definitely come back but not to this resort.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beyond Expectations

I was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Weds to Weds late May, not too busy. Adults only. We arrived before the rooms were ready, our luggage was taken care of with no worries. We went straight to the buffet. The buffet had a great variety of diverse foods, we ate shrimp, squid mussels every day. The a la cart restaurants were fabulous. I had lobster 4 out of 7 nights no additional charge. As you can tell I'm a seafood lover. There was chicken, pork, beef you name it. Deserts were lovely  [... read more]and so many different options. The staff were friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean. the beach was superb. We brought cheap little floaties with mesh from Canadian tire they were a great enhancement for the ocean. The water was calm, the white beach sand soft on the feet. We went over to the Barcello Palace, it was loud and busy, we were happy to go back to our resort. There is lots to do. There is a little park near the convention centre, lots of Peacocks and a nice garden. The grounds are very clean. We had a great vacation and will definitely go back.

It is a very nice and clean hotel. Everyone is very friendly. Will sure recommend this hotel to my family and friends.Pools are excellent! Need to have more English speaking staff. Also would like to have DJ played a mixed music e.g soca music.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Amazing Resort

The grounds are amazing, beautifully well kept. The staff are friendly, polite, fantastic people. The beach is amazing, the animation team is great. The rooms are nice and big and so clean. The shower is a little small but there's also a large tub in the bathroom you can hop into.

Excellence El Carmen: Stunning Luxurious Resort with the most amazing people!

From the moment you step out of the airport transfer which was included in our package you are immediately welcomed and your bags taken. They start the checking in process quickly and have champagne waiting for you before you even walk inside. These giant dark doors automatically open and you get a glance of the huge stunning lobby with beautiful polished stone and rich finishes. It's hard to pay attention to guest services while your checking in because it is so nice. Our bell man Sergio "b [... read more]est of the best" was more fantastic and very energetic and always making us laugh and feeling good. We were in our room and had our bags quickly. Our room was gorgeous, we choose a 2nd floor suite in the main building facing the center of the resort with a outstanding view of the resort, palm trees and the ocean in the back ground and the sunrises were really beautiful. It was a Terrace Suite with plunge pool and again was amazing. High end finishes, stone everywhere, custom glass enclosures, flush mount rain showers, in room safe in a custom floor to ceiling cabinets. A huge king size bed that is sooo comfortable as well as a jam packed mini bar and 2 flat screen Tvs. Giant patio door and all glass wall makes for a wonderful view even from bed. Whirlpool enclosed in glass with private shutters if wanted was a nice touch and we loved our plunge pool and laying on the sun loungers on the terrace. They kept the room clean and the mini bar stoked and adjusted when asked. Only tired room service once and it was ok nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. The property is very well laid out and maintained and they are always working on it constantly. It is really a piece of paradise. We had breakfast at the buffet every morning in theThe Kitchen Table and it was great! Fresh food of all kinds the biggest selection I have ever seen and all soo good. Our favourite was the omelette station and El Jeni who made our mornings fun and always made us smile and made a damn good omelette. We also tried The Lobster House and The Grill and both were very tasty with fresh well seasoned and uniquely prepared food. My steak came out a beautifully cooked med rare sirloin strip and it was melt in your mouth good and seasoned perfect. We went on a few excursions so we didn't have much time to eat alpt at resort. We did get to do it beach dinner and it was so cool! We were served a tropical drink on our way in and spoke to hostess and were seated immediately. A buffet fit for a king with unlimited authentic booths of food prepared in so many different ways and flavours, grills fill the air with such a savoury smell while the band plays authentic and current music with a Caribbean twist. We met a great couple at this dinner and had a blast till it was over. The beach is beautiful and I love here little huts and comfy sun loungers. They get lots of seaweed sometimes but work hard on taking it up. The swim up bar is perfect and when your relaxing at the pool in a lounger or in the pool they make sure your drinks are never empty or not for long. There were a few minor things but really nothing not expected for a new resort and if anything arouse it was taken care of quickly and we were happy with all the service we received. The shows were all good but our favourites were the circus and the fire show. The live music at night is fun and they get you up dancing and having a good time always. We can't wait to go back as we absolutely loved EEC and the people throughout. I want to give a special thank you to all the people in general, the front desk staff and especially Yamirsy "shaky shaky", Sergio "best of the best" bell man, Julio, Bruno mars, Spaghetti, El Jeno "omelette king", Christiana "happy birthday", & our west jet rep Ernesto. Together they made our stay unforgettable. I'm forgetting names as well. I can't wait to go back as we now plan to spend a lot more time at EEC in the future.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great Family Resort

This was our 2nd time back to the Majestic Colonial, and it did not disappoint. A new part of the experience this time was going with children and utilising the "Splash Kids Club". I have to give special mention to the staff at the kids club, they made the trip especially enjoyable for our 7 and 3 year old children. The kids did not want to leave whenever we came to collect them, and they made a lot of friends with the other children. Service, food and rooms are all top notch here. The on [... read more]e thing that was not as good as I remembered was the beach....this time around there seemed to be quite a bit of sea weed washed up on the beach which was not there last time we stayed here. I don't know if it depends on the weather maybe? I would not hesitate to book again at this resort, although I may wait a few years before returning just to try out some other locations.

Paradisus Punta Cana: 25th Anniversary Trip

Everything was as advertised. Large, beautiful resort is well maintained. Service was great. Food was good too. Rooms were clean. The people here are very pleasant. Large beach area. Pool area is also very large. This resort never feels crowded. We would definitely live to return to this resort.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Number One Resort on the Island!

Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro is the best destination for couples. Service, beaches, Restaurants and food are awesome! Nightly shows are captivating along with live entertainment at the bars. You feel completely safe there. There are no bugs.
