Melia Las Antillas: Amazing Family Vacation.

Exceptional location, meals, and atmosphere. The grounds were well maintained and cared for daily. The food was plentiful and extremely appetizing. Incredible selection during each meal and the a la carte meals were appealing visually and gastronomically. Rooms were spotless, mini fridge was stocked daily and no issues with any parts of the accommodations. The adults only was truely a plus and not just a section of a larger resort but was actually a true adults only resort. Grand Memories Varadero: Elite catering and Extra billing rules

Let me say upfront the absolute best service we received from trip central was out of this world. Our previous four trips were with a large box store travel section in their store and we were floored by the attention to detail, the ongoing emails and the super follow up. We will be customers for life. We have been going to Cuba for 5 years now, various resorts in Veredero and Santa Maria, all inclusive. Increasingly these resorts are segregating areas and services to maximize profits. We  [... read more]paid $ 80 to sit together on the plane; there's a Diamond club that had access to more dining rooms and areas at additional costs ( $ 25 per person per day) ; there's an "adult only" area accessible only at additional cost with plenty of chairs,they have their own beach; the rest of the guests are forced into common areas with limited seating, as most guests put towels on both the chairs at the beach as well as the pool -- in effect reserving both areas; there is a VIP lounge at the airport available for a mere 30 CUCs each that will give you a sandwich, a beer and an air conditioned lounge. Problem is to get to it, you need to line up for 3 hours at the check in as well as the customs, so you are lucky to get an hour in it for this price; finally if you need to use the airport washroom (assuming you did not opt for the VIP) the attendants will greet you with their hands out for access. Ironically, the people who pay the biggest price is the hotel workers that are super friendly and hard working but do not get the tips they deserve because, in part, of the extra fees. Love Cuba but with all the add ins probably will explore other destinations, through trip central.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Many great things...

The pool and beach were absolutely amazing. The pool area was rather small but stunning and fun-filled with music and entertainment. Not a lot of space to swim though. On a windy day the pool capacity was full. The beach was one of the best in Cuba! Wow!! The staff went out of their way and were not pushy to make a buck but sincere in their approach. Please bring toiletry items and anything else you can fit in your suitcase as they make very poor wages yet are happy to please. Food was fine once you found a few items to rely on each day - grilled chicken, pasta bar, bacon and eggs, mimosas and wine! Ice cream everyday too. Japonese restaurant was great! Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: memories indeed

My name is Larry Kingsley. My wife Diane and I have returned to Cuba again this year simply because it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. This time we chose the Sanctuary at Grand Memories.The accommodations were impeccably clean and close enough to the pool and restaurant area, but also very close to the private beach. Muthu Playa Varadero: Disappointed

The beach, as always for Cuba, was fantastic. The rest was unremarkable to unpleasant. The biggest peeve for me was that the table cloths were NEVER clean and the cloth napkins were likewise dirty. Something I just could not stand day after day. Also, there is a plumbing vent under the vanity in the ensuite which emitted a constant unpleasant odour. We kept our balcony door open at all times and this helped. We spoke to our neighbor and they said they had the same problem. I won't be returning.

Starfish Las Palmas: nice resort recently renovated

I stayed here march 1 to 8 My plan was to book at the Starfish Quatro Palmas but it was fully booked I was there in January and enjoyed it so much I wante to go back.. I think Starfish ownsboth hotels but operate independently, so by staying here I was able to purchased full allinclusive privledges for 20 pesos per day so my trip cost me $ 1,150. including single supplement and 120 pesos which worked cheaper than if I had booked at the starfish that week. Its about 75 yards to get from one hot [... read more]el to the other.My room was recently painted ,cleaned every day ,kingsize bed,flat screen tv, vaulted ceiling, large balcony.fridge,nice bathroom with large walkin shower no tub,quiet air conditioner.There is a very nice open air restaurant and garden if you want some quiet time.Some of the people I met in January has booked at quarto palmas but paid a little less and stayed here. When you take this into account, it is a 3.5 hotel because you are actually a guest of the Starfish Quatro Palmas which in my opinion is easily a four star hotel. They have a high return rate,me included. read their reviews and check the photos.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Resort

This is a great resort, the location is perfect, the beach is a bit of a walk but worth it. The staff are lovely and the food was great! The room was spacious, shower was great, the beds aren't so comfortable but the rest of the resort makes up for it.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Enjoyable place.

The two reservable restaurants counterbalanced the main dining room very well. An excellent place all in all. I would easily return for another vacation here. The name is a bit wonky, however, but what's in a name?

Starfish Jibacoa: An adult camp like setting!

A very friendly atmosphere, with the staff and fellow vacationers. The front porches on the bungalows encourage people to be friendly and inviting. The snorkelling was awesome, saw eel, a variety of colourful fish, sea urchins and a small ray. The food was plentiful, the bread was great, the rest of the food was adequate. The pork sandwiches at the pool were good. The restaurants surrounding the area were fabulous, The Tower, The Chief ( Chino owns it up the road). There are lots of things to d [... read more]o. Hire a car ( 1955 Impala or 1959 BelAir were the cars we rented) to tour Habanna and to explore, Jacura, Hershey and Santa Cruz. The electric train to Hershey is a one time experience. If you can live with your basic needs met and love to explore, Grand Caribe in Jibacoa is the place for you. We are ready to book again, because we enjoyed exploring real Cuba ( not vacationers idea of Cuba), learning and experiencing. Met lots of wonderful people.

Barcelo Solymar: Awesome Time!

The Barcelo Solymar was awesome! It was well maintained and staff was excellent! The location was fantastic! Only a 5 minute walk into town. A great place to party! All the bars dowtown are lots of fun. This was a great resort for people who want to have fun, but also enjoy some relaxation on a beautiful beach.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort

I don't have any complaints about this resort our stay was great. Had a great room with an amazing view. Beach was amazing, all the staff was very nice. The food is what you should expect in Cuba wasn't great but learned what to eat and what not to eat. I would definitly stay at this resort again.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: The good, the bad and the ugly

After going to Holguin twice, we knew what to expect, but we've decided we don't like the Varadero atmosphere. I've never complained before and it's not like I made a fuss, but the lack of customer service astounded me! Good The food was Cuba ok but needed variety, we went to the international a la carte and it was very good. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows awesome. The room was pretty. Resort was clean. The staff that was friendly were the waiters and most of the bartenders. [... read more] The nightlife was very fun! Good music, people and dancing! Bad Apart from the dance shows, the shows are distasteful at best. Must have been the consensus because people walked out (as we did). Some of the staff were downright rude, one of the bartenders was constantly texting WHILE serving you! Bring your own toilet paper, and the toilets buy the swim up bar (that isn't) smells like an outhouse Hot water was inconsistent and the staff pretended like they were hearing it for the first time, like any other complaint... Surprise! They wanted 30 pesos deposit for the towels, bring your own. Ugly We could smell mold in our room and when we asked to move, it was quite the spectacle so we gave up (remember, rude staff) The main lobby bar also smelled musty.... One of the security staff tried to force himself on a married, older woman.... If you get a great deal and you just want a quiet, very quiet (sometimes it felt like a ghost town) place to spend the days laying by the pool or beach and don't expect any hospitality, it's ok. But we paid premium cause I'm stuck going on March break so we were a little disappointed.

Brisas Del Caribe: Go with realistic expectations and don't overpay

At $900/person for six days on march break, this was a decent deal. The food is actually delicious if you like meat instead of greens; the property is worn down but quaint; there was hot water but no wifi. Bring your own beach towel.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Dirty and unsafe retreat

There was vituslly no visible security at this resort. On our first evening there, I was almost sexually assaulted by another guest. He approached me drunk, attempted to apprehend me by forcefully grabbing me and hanging onto me. I tried to run away and escape his groping arms. I finally freed myself whilst running screaming for help and the " policia". I ran into a group of women ( literally) and explained my horror over what had just happened. They were aghast as it had just happened to their [... read more] Mother moments earlier. We all went to the front desk to report this and were told they would dispatch security. No ther action or consolation was offered. It was a traumatic experience that my 7 and 11 year old sons witnessed. Apparently, this predator ( pig from Russia) who tried to assault me was evicted from the resort several days later because he had also solicited several maids to have sex for money. I will never stay there again and will share my experience at Memories with all who ask . It was life altering.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Very nice

Grounds were well kept, painted, clean. beaches were clean and well kept. Washrooms could have been better maintained with soap and towels more regularly. The staff were friendly and many activities were offered like dance lessons, and some games. Charly was so friendly and kind. More water aerobics would be great.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great resort

This resort was a pleasant surprise... the food was very good, all 3 a la carts were very good. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The room was big and comfortable with the exception of a poorly operating coffee maker. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Playa Vista Azul: Fantastic stay

This is a new resort with clean rooms and a great staff. The food is mediocre but the beaches and amenities make up for it. The entertainment was also great. A very family friendly resort. Would definitely go again.

Palma Real: Great location for visiting town of Varadero and walking on beach.

Great location, but dated. Mold smell in room we were in but otherwise clean. Pool areas clean but needing some tlc. Beach access good. Shortage of chairs on the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Playa Vista Azul: Ocean Vista Azul

Very pleasant. The infinity pool, our quiet room, the live music in the lobby in the evenings. Great beaches and we loved the walk through the woods at the edge of the sea. Had occasion to visit the doctor who was excellent.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Be Careful with This Hotel

Our expectations were high for this resort and we were greatly disappointed. The main problem was the food which was not very good. The Mexican restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The rest of the a la Cart restaurants were poor to fair. All of us were sick from one day to the next which made it impossible to actually have a fun vacation or travel together on excursions. We had been to Cuba before and had no such problems. The grounds and swimming pools are great. The beach is excellent. The peo [... read more]ple were extremely friendly and courteous but all this goes for not when your children are not feeling well. The rooms were old and dated. The beds were uncomfortable but the AC worked fine. Be careful with the excursions offered by the affiliated Tour company they are expensive. In our case they brought us to a cigar making demonstration and rum sampling that was right across the street from the hotel. That was an expensive fare. P.S. Most of us were still sick after we got home.
