Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Awesome Place

Had a wonderful time at this resort. The food was excellent, service was great. Rooms were clean. Loved the trolley as we were in the middle & a bit of a walk to either the beach or lobby. Everyone was so friendly & even learned some Spanish! Definitely would go again.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: So So

Much farther away than I was expecting, booked last minute without any research so that is on me. Don't expect to do anything off the resort unless you want to pay $$$. Rooms definitely are dated and need immediate attention do not expect luxury or anything remotely luxurious. AC worked perfect in both my rooms. I had to change rooms due to water leaking from the ceiling, down the wall over the electrical outlets. It took hours dealing with this trying to explain to the front reception that wate [... read more]r and electricity do not mix and I didn't feel safe in the room. One side of the resort is undergoing renovations so one buffet and swim up bar is closed resulting in very busy buffet and bars etc. The beach was Ok with lots of loungers but many were in bad shape. Most of the food was edible but way to repetitive, fruit and vegetables were lacking in variety and freshness at least for my liking. There were mostly Russians on the resort so if your english speaking and hoping to meet others good luck with that. The gym is decent I went twice a day due to boredom lol. All in all I would say that for the money I paid there are better options out there. I would have rather spent a few hundred dollars more for a better experience. Weather was fabulous despite a pretty scary looking forecast before heading down. One last point I booked with sunning and flew out of Toronto. The rep in the resort was almost never at his desk and extremely hard to track down. Flight home delayed one and a half hours with little to no explanation and on a late flight home this was not very nice. Also because flight was at 930 pm I was picked up at 530 pm from resort. I had to check out at noon and there are no shower facilities or late checkouts available so you have to pretty much sit around all day waiting for the bus. A place to change and shower would have been amazing as I would have been able to enjoy the pool or beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: So so

The resort was beautiful, but the bed was damp for the entire week of our stay. Even after talking to the maid, nothing was done . one day we did not have a comforter for our bed, another day we did not get restocked on coffee. Lots of bug bites all over my body. The food was great beach was beautiful and entertainment was awesome.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Luxury Bahia Ambar Green excellent resort

This is a fantastic resort. I stayed here last year at the sister resort Ambar Blue and it is a fantastic resort as well. The beach and beach bar staff are great. The staff were constantly walking around taking drink orders from the resort patrons. There were plenty of loungers/chairs on the beach even though we always arrived at around 10:00am every morning. The bar staff were very efficient looking after orders from patrons. The liquor is top shelf with national and international bra [... read more]nds. The beer consisted of 2 brands and was/is very good. The rooms with the exception of one day, were cleaned day very quickly and efficiently. There were plenty of face, hand and bath towels left in the bathrooms everyday. The mini bar was stocked every day with water, pop, beer and mini bottles of liquor. The beds were a little hard but did not prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. There was a minor issue with the safe which was taken care of very quickly after a call to the service desk. With this resort, you can have a different a la carte restaurant every night. All of the a la carte restaurants were very good. The food was excellent with many different dishes to choose from and the service was excellent as well. We had the Dominican, French, Mexican, Italian, Steak, Japanese, and the buffet for seafood on Tuesday nights. There was some construction ongoing next door but it only occurred during the day and early evening and did not prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. We usually tipped the room cleaning staff, bar staff and restaurant staff for the excellent service. I would highly recommend this resort to family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: great family vacation

The hotel met with most of our expectations. The food was good with a wide selection for everyone's taste. The beach was amazing and always a place to sit and relax. There was a pool to match your mood for the day, quiet, kids activities, party, music...something for everyone. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the shuttles ran like clockwork. It was huge so that did take a little time to find your way around. There was a lot of misquotes so make sure you take a lot of bug spray [... read more] with you. The lobby is open and not great ventilation so it is quite warm in there all the time. The air conditioner wasn't working our last 2 days there so that made for a very uncomfortable sleep since you couldn't open the door due to the bugs. Not a lot of evening entertainment after the show but we were fine with that since the sun seemed to make everyone exhausted by 11 anyway.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Had a wonderful time Pros and Cons

What we like. We liked that we could book a al cartes ahead of time. Sandy Nichols of Tripcentral made those for us ahead of time, and we got exactly what we asked for. The grounds were meticulously maintained. The staff was always working to keep things nice. Great Palm trees, excellent powered beaches which were racked continuously to make our stay nice. The food was above average with lots of choices. The rooms were spacious and cleaned with care daily. We made some additional requests, and [... read more] they gave us what we asked for. What we didn't like. Vendors on the beach hovering. Vendors on occasion blocking the main path, so as to steer you to their tables. Had no trouble getting beach towels, but each time, they tried to sell you an excursion.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Getaway

Easy 20 min. bus ride to resort. Luggage drop was not directed very well on arrival. No direction was given getting off the bus. Book close to the water and restaurants for shorter walking. Pool area not near the water so choose which one you like better - map is also not to scale. Regular running shuttles were great but some are running on Diesel which was a HUGE TURN OFF. Be ready to be hounded by beach sellers even though they are to remain only on the beach I was told, a few wandered around you 2 rows back which can wear on you by day 5. Several real healthy juices for breakfast but limited juices at the bar was odd. They promote a healthy approach to the bar menu which lacked real juices. Great walking beach/ friendly staff at the pool / beach bars. $1500 in promised spending bonuses on pampering services, turned out to be a reward for viewing timeshares.. Surprise! And then it's not applied to not all the overpriced services and only covers part so you are buying anything you choose at reg. price. Felt like a scam. Check in said talk to your lobby travel rep and he said (AirTransat rep) he couldn't discuss it? We had to arrange a meeting to get it? Oh - a timeshare presentation. Aha moment. Very disappointing. Felt like a scam - poorly represented. Not all restaurants were equal so ask around what most liked more so you make the most of your dinners. Bad experience at THE GRILL. Ordered ribs and my dinner came as a slab of meat on one side no bones and the flip side was solid white fat and gristle - I was shocked. The phone system had 5 star features but ours worked for the first day. Bad line. Housekeeping was always after 4/5pm which was inconvenient and they always scented our room as we noticed after 3 days a slight septic odor. Curtain off track at the end and paint splatters on the wall art. I think our room was next in line for a renovation. Frosting patches peeled off the shower glass/ soap build up and grungy hardware attaching at the bottom. Great TV with lots of channels. CNN / NHL / MBA playoffs and The Voice... I pointed out to staff twice that 2 different washrooms had plumbing problems so the attention to some details are not being managed. A lot of staff always on their cell phones too... The main beach restaurant and bar was closed for renovation after being told how nice it was by our travel agent. Guess they don't pass that along for fear of not booking? DONT BUY CIGARS ON THE BEACH. Locals say the boxes are knock offs and they use 2,nd grade leaf and some banana leaf filler... on the flip side, 1 week of great weather can over look a lot!!!

everything was beautiful but the people, service and the locals. I found out that people like locals are allowed to stay in the resort for 65 dollars a night, this is from people of all backgrounds from gangs, hardworking and even prostitutes can come onto the resort. As a 5 star hotel you are expecting safety, reassurance and fun while staying on a resort not worrying about your money, your well being and your overall security. the beaches are beautiful, the food was terrible, same thing every  [... read more]single day. and the pools were dirty as well as the washrooms. the maids could not clean the room properly but it was always half done. I had the same dirty pillow cases for the full week I was there, all the room was made up and done with the same old ass sheets. there was cockroaches, dead and alive ones, they never had fresh towels I always had to ask for some and the mini bar stuff as well. I would never ever go back and I would never ever let my family either, stay far, far away from this resort. it is a unsafe, gross and nasty place to go spend a week.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Shocking and scared to be there

The hotel was beautiful, the ocean was gorgeous and the lobby was easy to access because of the carts. This is the only positive things I have to say about this location. The maids were rude in the 20 section, the place just wanted us as tourist to buy what they had. the excursions were based on sales pitches and trying to make us spend money rather than show us what the Dominican was all about. they had a lack of understanding and trying to converse with people of a different nationality. over  [... read more]all I would not ever go back there and I'm glad my trip is over with.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort Luxury Bahia Principe AMBAR Adults only

I was originally booked for the Esmeralda as it had turned it to an Adults only resort from Jan 2017 to May 1st 2017 and then they turned it back into a Family resort, so I cannot add anything about Esmeralda except that I went to the Bella Italia Restaurant and it was very good. I stayed at the AMBAR Blue 2 years in a row now and this is an excellent resort if you are looking for Adults only resort. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Best Trip ever

We will definitely be returning to this Resort. It was our second visit here and they did not disappoint. All is very well maintained, rooms, pool, grounds. Food is great as ell as service. We had the best time. Denise & Ron LeBlanc

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Terrific

We ended up loving this resort. we were initially unsure about the techno party vibe when we arrived, but found lots of quiet areas and TONS of shade for r&r. great food choice; beach only OK - not bavaro

Grand Palladium Palace: Par

The grounds were incredible, always clean and beautiful. The buffets were okay, a huge selection of food. Not always cooked to perfection but the variety was there so always able to find something to eat. The restaurants on the other hand were absolutely perfect! With the exception of the Brazilian one. All our servers (buffet and restaurants) were great! The rooms (for being deluxe renovated) not bad. The fridge was restocked daily and the rooms were cleaned daily - no complaints as far as that goes. The pool was always clean and the beach was spectacular.

We has a fantastic time here. Clean and refreshed rooms, food was fantastic! Beach was paradise,and the pool was clean and large. Smiling and polite staff. We are already planning our next stay! Thank you Bavaro Princess for a fantastic vaction. Mr and Mrs M Camlis from Ontario!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good Resort

We have been going to this resort for the past 9 years and once again selected it for our vacation. After being there many times we have certain expectations regarding service and amenities. This time we were somewhat disappointed in the amenities. The rooms are getting older and need some upgrades. Took two days to fix the issues and only fixed it after our insistence that we wanted to speak to a manager. The service in the restaurants and food quality was good. Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Ok resort

This resort would be more for an older crowd no disco and my 17 year old daughter was harassed by the staff they were very aggressive it was beautiful but not much to do the stores didn't sell much the power went out twice

Punta Cana Princess: Good resort

my resort was very good and very clean and beautiful. The stafff are very friendely. And the temperature was ok 2 days of rains and the rest sunny. And the restarant is very good. It was fifth time at this resort . Very good

TRS Turquesa: 6th Time!! Still our Favorite.

We stayed April 29th until May 6th 2017 and had another amazing time. Had rain the first couple of days however the sun did shine for the next 5. We always have great service and love the RST. We do eat breakfast at the Palace buffet and Marcella takes great care of us. Alex has a great team working for him. Front desk management are wonderful and Tomas is always there to assist us when we arrive. We like the Cabana Swim up rooms. A mini Paradise.

The resort was amazing, the food delicious and no compliments about any of the restaurants. We were fortunate enough to have a room ground floor next to the pool and ten steps from the beach. Wonderful for us. Only black mark against resort was the "beach towel" issue, they never had enough towels. We only got dry or clean towels twice in two weeks.
