Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Loved our stay at Gran Bahia Principe Maya Complex

We stayed at Gran Bahia Principe Akumal from April 18-25 and absolutely loved it. The resort complex with the separate sections is a perfect lay out. Each of the main lobbies was stunningly beautiful. The long stretch of beaches was great and offered many different experiences. The pools were beautiful, though it would be nice to have some deeper pools as well for the adults and better swimmer to enjoy. The quality and the selection of the food are incredible. The only thing I missed was mango, which must be out of season right now. It’s funny how we do enjoy the Ataulfo mangoes at home in Toronto this time of year, yet I did not see any in Mexico during our stay. The bars, buffet restaurants and snack bars (24 hour) were also very good and we enjoyed excellent service, even when the resort was fully booked during the Easter weekend. Special thanks go out to Juan in the Royal Golden Club section of the Akumal resort for the great welcome and introduction. It was really nice to have him prepare us for a great stay. Just for that, the upgrade was definitely worth the extra $250 or so. We stayed in room 6226 (building 62, 3rd floor). The room was wonderful and clean. The one minor downside was that our 2 double beds could so easily have been 2 queen size beds with better mattresses, as there is plenty of room for that, but we slept fine nonetheless. We had 2 double beds and one single bed in our suite. Due to the small double bed size, we made a nice comfy little bed on the ground for our 4 year old who likes to move around in her sleep. The resort really should replace the doubles with queen-size to improve on an otherwise perfect all-inclusive resort experience. One comment I must include based on my wife’s feedback is that the trolleys need to slow down a little when close to pedestrians. I must agree that they do drive too fast. Our kids are age 8 and 4 and the resort was magical for them. The trolleys, even if they are too fast :) , made life very easy for them to visit the many restaurants after a long and exhausting day at the beach and the pools. They also loved the resort’s entertainment. The beach was perfect for them with the wave breakers that were great for sliding on and snorkeling. The kids’ water splash park at Coba was really nice, but the kids were not bothered to go back after one day in the Coba section (even our 4 year old) which suited us just fine since we preferred the Akumal and Tulum sections of the resort. Even for the kids, the service was great and the foods selection was phenomenal. The room cleaning personnel made wonderful towel animals each day. We are already planning a group vacation with our friends and neighbours for next year around the same time and can‘t wait to go back. The kids will have an even better time with many of their close friends at the resort. I hope to arrange the perfect stay for a group of 5 or 6 families that all live in our local Toronto Corktown community. Thank you to all the wonderful personnel at the resort complex. I cannot complement you enough and you made this a wonderful experience for all four of us.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing holiday again !!!

My husband and I have been going to the Bahia Principe San Juan for over ten years meeting friends from Newfoundland This resort is amazing it is like going to meet family every year we love the staff and the management They will always accommodate are needs.The food in the restaurants has every think always different food and the rooms are nice this is an older resort of the Bahia group and is having some renovations this year which will bring it back to the BEAUTIFUL PEACE OF HEAVEN in the Dom [... read more]inican .

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful but crowded!

Hotel was beautiful and food was good. Service was hit or miss - sometimes excellent, sometimes disinterested. It was a much more lively and busy place than I expected - beach was like walking down 5th avenue in NYC - beautiful but swarms of people! People were having a great time - but it was just difficult to find some peace and quiet. Just wasn't what we were looking for but lots if people would love it.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: wow, we love it!

Everything was wonderfull. The staff was very friendly. The food was awsome. The beach was clean. We made some good friends. The room was super clean with the day and evening ladies. I recommand that resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: It was a excellent resort

Beautiful goods great staff the buffet was very good. The Japanese restaurant was the best la cart. Rooms were great we stay near the Italian restaurant. The room was very clean and house keeping did a great job. The lobby bar was very nice the best cappuccino in the mornings. The red wine was good. We told a number of our friends and two couples went shortly after we told them. They latter told us they had no regrets. Next time we go it's going to ten to fourteen days. Great time, clean room friendly staff. Close to the excursions, beautiful beach. Would recommend and would live to come back!! Best girls trip ever!!!!!! Get to beach early to get a good seat as they go quickly

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: This hotel was fun!

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) Food was great, lots of variety, great pools, some busy, some quite if that's what you liked. Good shopping!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great trip!

The beach was amazing! The resort was well kept and had good food at all the restaurants. The place was quiet while we were there, with most of the people staying at the time being 50 or over. The gym was poor and didn't measure up to the level of other amenities on the resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Heaven on earth

It was fantastic, the people were great especially the pool staff. The grounds were outstanding and very well maintained. The room were spacious , cozy and kept very clean. The food was delicious as was the al a carte restaurants. All the staff were exceptional they went above and beyond to make us feel at home and part if their family. This was my first all inclusive trip but definitely not my last!

After one of the hardest winters in the entire North East in over half a century a much needed escape was required! A few friends and I found Gran Bahia Principe through Trip Central.ca and it was just great. Really good price and no hidden fees, accurate descriptions, pictures, honest reviews and trustworthy travel site! We swam in ocean every day and water is so nice and warm with a gorgeous beach with lots of huts, umbrellas and drinks, snacks nearby as well as washrooms! The weather in March is perfect: sunny everyday about 32 in day and still warm all night about 25! The rooms are nice and clean with good service! The food is great with lots of variety and the best buffet and good choice of theme restaurants but the food at the buffet is top notch and is fine dining in itself! Lots of activities, shuttles or private taxis to go to places like Dunn River Falls and MargaritavIlle. So great weather, beautiful hotel with amazing food and service! Fantastic ocean view and beaches and lots of activity and entertainment or classy and quiet enough to relax! The perfect escape from a brutal Canadian winter! Trip Central.ca made it easy and is a company you can trust and rely on for your much needed and deserved vacations.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent resort!

Huge resort with enough space and diversity for everyone! Food was excellent! Tons of pools and great beach! Great service. So much effort put into entertainment, which was excellent! Only complaint are the rooms- the one I stayed in was clean but outdated, with VERY thing walls- I could hear the neighbours' conversations and more... Just embarrassing for both us and them. Overall though I would recommend it because there are a lot of other good things and I had a wonderful time!

My Vacation was for two weeks, I traveled alone, and I felt safe on the resort. Reception and lobby were very welcoming. The room was beautiful with a king size bed sitting area, and a Jacuzzi tub. The house keeping staff was wonderful, and always provided me with extra towels for my long hair. The room was always clean, by the time I went up for lunch. The food was tasty and a nice variety. I like that they also provided a good ethnic choice of food at most of the sittings. This vacation for me was for relaxation and the fact that there was not much hop-la and commotion was great. The pool side music was at a good level, the only thing was the pool chairs always seemed to be scarce. I am not a morning person, so if you come out after 7 am the lounge chairs were gone. OH WELL… I guess I need to wake up earlier. The Night Entertainment Team was always Great; and the shows were Amazing. Disco was fun and plenty of room to dance. There was a Carnival Night, which I did not go to, as there was an additional charge for that, I felt it was a bit much to ask for $15.00 USD cover, when I paid quite a bit to stay at the resort. Overall impression was Wonderful, and I will be going back. I would give the Bahia Principe Esmeralda 5 Stars

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: You won't be bored

The hotel itself is very pretty. Everything is very clean. The food was amazing with to many choices. We wish we would have stayed for 2 weeks I stead of one. We didn't know you could go to the other buffets at the other hotels either. Our only complaint. We had a 1 year old that needed bottles kept cold in the room. When we approached staff saying our fridge was broken we received a lot of attitude! We also requested an ocean view room...it is NOT that kind of hotel. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Best relaxing resort

I found this resort very swanky to discribe it best!!! 100% must book. The restaurants had some of the most high end food, far surpassing any of my expectations. Service was 2nd to none. It is true that it is not on a beach. however there is a shuttle service that only takes 4 min to get to the other resorts with your own private beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Holiday!

This is a beautiful resort! We had a nice room. King bed and a very nice bathroom. We asked to be moved to another room upon arrival. It was a bit run down and it had 2 queen beds. The management was happy to switch our rooms. This resort is quite spread out.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort

This resort was beautiful. People were great and the food was amazing! I was very pleased with the gluten free and dairy free options. My only complaint would be the pool chairs that got reserved by towels. People would have chairs " reserved" all day and not even be at the pool. Overall we had a great experience !

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Lovely adults only resort

We thought this resort was ideal - location and all the facilities were excellent. Food in the main buffet in the lobby was good, and our favourite restaurant was the Don Pablo. Most days we ate lunch at the beach restaurant and found lots of variety, all well prepared and presented.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great resort

Everything was amazing from the food to the rooms, service was second to none! The employees were always helpful, courteous, and happy. The pools were immaculate and you could always get a towel even without an exchange if you forgot yours in the room. The trolley rides were a great way to get around and meet people :)
