Barcelo Huatulco: Second visit

Just returned from our week at the Barcelo. Hotel is nicely laid out, smaller than some of the larger resorts but a nice size to meet people. Ocean front rooms are worth the extra charge! We had no complaints about the food, service was always very good and hotel was always spotless. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is the constant loud music. The entertainment staff should realize that it is not all teenagers around the pool. Some nice Mexican music  [... read more]occasionally would be nice! There is though very good Mexican groups playing at the bar at night which is very nice. Would return?

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: A Los Cabos experience!!

This was a beautiful well managed resort overall. The staff was very accommadating and catered all your needs. The grounds well manicured and clean. The food at all the venues was excellent and served with very friendly staff. It is hard to pick out the best restaurant but The Grill and the Ayami were standouts for sure. Our room was great and ocean view is well worth it. Loved the service by staff at the pool and beach special mention, Erika, Ivan, Sacorro, and Manuel. The sports team was g [... read more]ood and lots of fun. The entertainment was great live band one night and Mexican another night was excellent. I suggest a well placed poster board of events would improve attendance. We found it sad that it wasn't as well attended as it could have been. I would definately reccomend this resort to our friends and family. The Baja Pennisula is just excellent!!!!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing resort!

The complex was big but never hard to navigate around. The food was the best I’ve ever had at a resort, I recommend booking steak house and Japanese al a cartes. they have a good variety for liquor and lots of pools if your a pool person. Always something to do at this resort for all age groups!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Friendly and Comfortable

Great resort. Really good food and service. The pool area is large and kept well. Lots of lounges. Great drink service around the pool as well. The rooms and bathroom are large and the shower is luxurious, as is the jetted tub. Views of the ocean are not direct in most rooms, but the golf course is a beautiful view as well.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Disappointed

I was looking for somewhere to celebrate our 35th anniversary and the Occidental Costa was not what I had in mind. I will say that the food was good, the entertainment and dance lessons were also great. The staff were helpful and friendly. However, it was smaller then I anticipated, there was no beach to speak of, the pool was positively frigid. The room was tiny and the air conditioners were just outside our balcony. Within the first day we made the decision to move to Panama Jack's . I h [... read more]ave to say that I had heard great things about Occidental, but I must say we were very disappointed.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great

Great place, good food ,friendly staff, spacious modern rooms. Wildlife everywhere which is very cool. Drinks are made well. A la cart restaurants are awesome. Pools are great, cenotes are gorgeous. Lots of on site activities

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Most Amazing Resort I have ever been to!

Grand Bahia Principe Tulum is the most beautiful resort I have ever visited. You have access to the Coba resort as well which was pretty awesome. The shows were amazing, the disco was fun, we met a lot of great people from around the world and the workers are simply the nicest people I have ever met. I came back to Canada saying hola to half the population here lol! Just a great trip in general. Food, service, stay, and everything about Grand Bahia Principe Tulum was perfect. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: GREAT FOR FAMILIES OR ANYONE !

MELODIE CARGILL WAS AMAZING AND LISTENED TO EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED. SHE WAS SO KIND AND PATIENT. WE WILL USE HER AGAIN 100% first of all this resort is big but they have carts that literally go by every 5 minutes and they have 'bus stops' just a heads up the kids waterpark is at the coba side which you have access to but again need to take a cart. You could stay in coba if you wanted with kids but coba doesnt have a beach. Tulum does. Honestly either side is fine. Royalton CHIC Cancun: Amazing and beautiful resort!

I think the resort was all around amazing. The beach was gorgeous and very clean. The room was very nice and spacious and the view from the room was really good as well. The cleanliness throughout the resort was very nice. I loved the service everyone was super nice.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Excellent value.

Dining areas good with high quality small portions ( as it should be ) of food, with exception poor ambiance Buffet area. Great viewing lobby over beach/sea with bar service. In evening music sometimes far too loud. Good quality bedroom/suites all with sea views and balconies.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Resort

What a lovely relaxing, authentic resort. Food great, rooms great! Now the staff well they were exceptional: Elena at reservations Alex at the Lobby Bar Antonio at the Mexican Restaurant and David Juan and Arturo at the Seafood restaurant Luis at the buffet restaurant Brenan, Danny, Shayla, C, Javier (they are the best!!!!) Riu Emerald Bay: waste of a holiday

this hotel was our favorite place to go not any more up to a 16 min wait for elevators not very many reapeaters are happymany many mexican people no manners what so ever big storm while there all lower floors flooded out,

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Dream Vacation

This was my first time taking a vacation down south to an all inclusive resort and I felt like I was living a dream. I have no complaints. The facilities were spotless, the staff were phenomenal, the shows were exciting and the food was absolutely perfect, and I'm a vegetarian. So many choices, everywhere we ate. I was with friends and we made new friends there. For me, the atmosphere could not have been any better. Absolutely beautiful resort. I cried when I had to leave. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Amazing resort!

This hotel wants to please you. Honestly the Iberostar staff want you to have the trip of your lifetime. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Nice pool area with tons of lounge chairs. Beach with great drink service, umbrellas and loungers. Can't say enough good things. It is also very kid friendly. You are one hour out of Puerto Vallarta but just make sure your trip includes transfers, as it can get pricey to get there. Our son was shy, so we would just drop by to check out the activities with him. The food at the resort was amazing. They have a great snack bar by the pool with fries, hot dogs, burgers, salads, quesadillas and icecream. Special shout out to Valeria our concierge, and Gloria who does quilling by the ping pong tables.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Gone down since 2yrs ago

As usual the staff were exceptional. We found that food quality has gone down abit since our last stay in 2017. We like block 5 building as there were no children in this block 2 yrs ago. Not now. Children and partying going on till early mornings. Not all nights, but last 4 nights put a damper on previous 10 days. Still can't beat location to Bucerias and all it's amenities.

Holiday Inn Huatulco: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

The Good: The hotel is super clean with very friendly helpful staff. Ac worked well. and there were quality towels aplenty. -The food was very good for an all inclusive. This was probably due to the restaurant also being a small private restaurant where folks could buy a meal. Breakfast had a good variety of mexican fare. The lunch and dinners were ala carte .Not a lot of variety but the quality was good and they were open to customisation on your order.. - Your room has a Key card entry s [... read more]ystem working in conjunction with the lights and AC which were activated by the same card by placing it permanently in a slot just inside the door. This helped you to not lose your card in the room and could always be extracted from the holder as you left the room and thereby also turning off the AC and lights. The Bad: The KeyCard worked 90% of the time. When not you had to trek to the front desk for a quick reprogramming. - The pool is small. Only four and a half feet deep. More of a kids pool or one to cool in.There are three tiled recliners semi- submerged for wet sunbathers. If there are kids in the pool forget about using one of those recliners. - the closest beach is one block walk away. Not too bad. - The Bar, the outdoor eating area, entrance to the AC restaurant and washrooms ; fifty percent of the time require you to duck below an overhang of fronds thatching the palapa. This may not sound like much but it gets truly tiring and if you have a bad back its a pain. I'm only 5' 9" . What's painful also is to watch how frustrated the waiters are with it. You ask why they don't just trim it back and they say they would love to but the Boss says no. Stupidity can be painful. Especially when you are trying to take a vacation from it. - Crap drinks that close at 11 pm. All mix drinks were sweet and made with watered down low grade liquor. If you ask why does this taste like sweet water? They will show you the quality liquor bottle, which has been refilled with watered down low grade liquor, and ask what's the problem? My choice at first was gin and tonics. They came sweet even when I would asked for no sugar. Eventually I looked at the can of tonic water and the second ingredient was sugar. From then on I just drank gin on the rocks. The draught beer was the worst ever. You can buy a can though. If you like Mezcal you need to buy it. Doesn't make sense as mezcal in Mexico is so cheap. As cheap as the bad booze they serve. They do have a good variety of all liquors you can pay for though. The tequila was free. We had a glass each and I wouldn't even use it as paint thinner. The Ugly: On the first day I relaxed around the pool. Went in a couple of times to cool off until one the fellow SunWing guests from Victoria stood in the pool spitting and blowing his nose. This went on for awhile. I believe more than that went after but why bother explain. I never went back in.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Lotsa Fun

Great resort. I’m not really sure why all the bad reviews, we had a great time. Lots to do it was a very active vacation. The food is good and staff was very attentive. The beach wasn’t the greatest but it was still a beautiful spot just bring water shoes and you will be fine. The only thing that I would say is to bring bug spray it’s a eco resort. I will definitely come back. Thanks for the great trip.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful holiday!

This resort has something for everyone. The trolley system made it easy to go to the other properties and the beach. If you have food allergies, let the front desk know, they take them serious and go above and beyond to make meals that you can eat. We only came across one rude employee when checking out and my cell phone cord went missing during our stay. These did not effect our enjoyment of the resort. It was beautiful and relaxing. Once you book your trip here, contact the resort to book your dinners if you want to get reservations, they fill up fast. If you don't get one, the buffet has several options of food to eat and the snack bar if you don't want a big meal.

Crown Paradise Golden: Great Resort

The hotel is in good condition, rooms are largish. We had a King bed. Bathroom is very roomy as well. Clothes storage is somewhat limited, but doable. Comes with a safe, iron & ironing board. Free beverages are refilled daily in the mini fridge. Sadly no wine in the fridge! Service is really good - they even have drink service (with premium drinks) around the pool and on the beach. The grounds are beautifully kept. There are 6 specialty restaurants - most of them very good. We didn't find the fo [... read more]od at the Mediterranean very good. Things we didn't like: there is not enough shade around the pool. Our room was located in the block over the Lobby & Bar. It was very noisy on the weekends sometimes until 2pm. We heard from others that they were able to switch their room to a quieter section, but we didn't do that. We would go back here if another special came up.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: The best place to get zero sleep and hand-foot-and-mouth disease

This is an amazing hotel if you enjoy waking up from every little noise coming from the hallway. The rooms are amazing, but the sound-proofing is non-existent. We couldn't relax or get any sleep in our room because of a constant noise coming from the hallway (all those house-keepers dragging their trolleys back and forth and chatting). More than once we woke up in the middle of the night simply because someone was walking by and talking (not yelling, just talking). To top it off, our son got  [... read more]a hand-foot-and-mouth disease from swimming in the pool. If you have kids, or particularly toddlers and looking for a hotel where you can have a relaxing experience, my advice is to look elsewhere. Yes, they have amazingly huge rooms (some with several bedrooms), but the lack of soundproofing makes it a very frustrating experience and not worth it. That's too bad because overall grounds are pretty decent and restaurants are not that bad. P.S.: We stayed in the beginning of December and there were almost no seaweed. The beach is too small though, rocky and crowded with locals, so not exactly private.
