Melia Varadero: Awesome Resort
Awesome place we go back there again and would highly recommend itSuper friendly stuff only problem we had was the cleaning lady when I was in keys and took a towel is that we brought from home. The hotel was close enough that you could take a scooter or a bike and go into Varadero
Playa Pesquero: Great resort
We were pleasantly surprised by this resort, it was beautifully landscaped, clean with friendly staff. There were lots of options for eating throughout the day and many locations around the pool and on the beach to grab a drink. The pool area had lots of shade to escape the sun as did the beach. We did run into a couple of issues with the first room we were given, very musty with mold on the walls. The staff did find us a new room but we had to wait until the following day. When booking we up [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful
Dining was very good for Cuba. Good choice of a la Carte restaurants. Beautiful pool and amazing beach! Rooms spacious, clean, secure. Service was very good and staff very friendly. Bathroom by snack bar was out of commission while we were there, so bathroom facilities were limited to our room or the one by dining rooms.
Playa Vista Azul: Had a great time
The resort was fine but Yanetsy made it by her personal touches in our room and her constant happy presence . You could not prebook the alacarte restaurants so it made it very difficult to get into .
Gran Muthu Imperial: Quaint personal resort
New resort so the rooms were fresh and clean. The grounds were well maintained and pools in great shape. They need more pool chairs. It was always challenging to find some available. The resort is a perfect size keeping all the amenities close and easily accessible. The a al cartes were average to above average but the buffet food was repetitive and limited . Not sure if it was the island as a whole having trouble accessing supplies ( vegetable variety) The food area was somewhat small a [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Don’t do it!
It is so unfortunate that this resort was so understaffed. There is a lot of great potential but standing in 30 minute lines for not good food and fighting over plates is not my idea of a vacation. The staff tried their best but there just wasn’t enough of them. Fighting to sit at a dirty table is just gross. We will not return.
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Very bad resort.
I will start by saying this is my first and last time going to anything less than 5 star. The resort ran out of multiple things including towels, pop, red wine and had a very limited selection of alcohol. On top of that I was there for two weeks and they never changed the bedding even once. I had to ask for soap even when they could clearly see I had none. I exercise in the form of long distance running... minimum 10 km every day and was only allowed 1 large water bottle per day and when i asked [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Tainos: Beautiful quiet resort
Iberostar Tainos is so far the best resort I've been in Cuba. Small, with homey filling about it, quiet and friendly - a place you can rest and enjoy. Clean rooms, restaurants and grounds, friendly staff, good food, amazing beach (not too crouded), profesional quality enterntaiment, outdoor dancing party before the night show - everything for your best vacation.
Carisol los Corales: A great hideaway
I really like this resort. It’s small and intimate. The rooms are average as is the food, but it’s Cuba. The staff are some of the nicest people. I’ve been before and will go back again. If you want a relaxing vacation of sun, beach and pool this is a great place
Starfish Jibacoa: Heaven
Feb 14 we landed into paradise . This is our second time there as we can’t get enough of the beach . The sand is beautiful, always a chair waiting for u , no one takes your towel . The snorkeling was amazing . Hidden treasures near and far into the ocean . Children playing , snorkeling near the sand . Had a great time seeing how safe life should be . I can’t swim but I was in the ocean floating and managed to get to see exotic fish . I even found an octopus by myself . Hubby was proud . The [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not recommended
Food was very low quality ,service was not the best ,February was too windy for a beach vacation, no beach entertainment ,ocean beautiful crystal clear ,night time shows were good ,clean room(towels had a bad odour ),no value for the priced paid
Melia Las Dunas: Great Beach
Our first time to Melia Las Dunas was fun despite the very windy and cool weather. Pros: great beach, Hobie Cat sailboats, very friendly and helpful staff, good selection and plenty of food, well kept gardens and shrubs. Cons: resort too large, buffet restaurant extremely busy & very noisy, very windy on beach, 2 hour bus ride to airport, very slow check-in at Santa Clara airport. Special thanks to Raul for excellent waiter service on the beach and to Sandy for his top notch service in t [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not a 5 star
We had no hot water for our 7 days, only lukewarm for 2. The beaches were not maintained, lots of weeds, cut my feet on broken shells. There was no path to the beach, would have been nice that one was built. The buffets were always the same. The only saving grace was the a la carte Japanese and oriental. I should have gone to the Royalton hotel instead. I'm so disappointed.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: It was OK
I intended to book online but due to a price difference, I had to call in. I wanted to book at Gran Muthu Imperial (adults only) my confirmation was for Gran Muthu Cayo Guillermo (families). I wrongly assumed Cayo Guillermo was part of the address, not a different resort My fault, I should of called back. The resorts are side by side & the reviews appear to be similar. This was our first time in Cuba & our expectations were not high, so, were not surprised by the food. I WAS impressed with t [... read more]
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: So/so
Like many others have said the staff are wonderful people. The landscaping/pool/beach are very nice. They don’t keep the ac on when no ones in the room and also turn it down or off after cleaning, so the bedrooms have a very musky smell. Linens are washed but never really all that clean, with stains and smells of Cologne and perfume still present. The rooms themselves were very comfortable including the bed, wasn’t hard as a rook but also not to soft. Had one pillowcase that had mold on it [... read more]
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great!
The resort is unbelievable! The grounds are gorgeous and very neat. As for the food, always a big question mark, it was very good. The buffet was well stocked, carvery was awesome and the deserts were tasty and well displayed. Never made it to the beach, but was told it is amazing. The golf cart shuttles were always prompt and the drivers very polite. The only problem we found was the lack of of use of the transfer buses. Empty buses going to the airport with folks 'waiting' to go [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Nice Resort
This was a nice resort. However, had a few minor problems. Our room smelt musty and the pillows were wet from the humidity. We were on the bottom floor and had many bugs in our room since there was a gap between the door and ground. The pool area did not have enough shade and chairs, and the snack bar took about an hour to make a sandwich. On our last day there, we waited an hour and half for food just for them to tell us they had closed and could not make our meals. The restaurants had grea [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Very rundown resort
I was recommended this resort and found it so disappointing. Spent way too much for my stay. The rooms weren't up kept. Patio door handle was falling off and wouldn't lock. The phone didn't work. The plugs were so over used that nothing would stay plugged in. We had to change rooms. You were lucky to get towels daily no face cloths and shower hook up was at your waste and falling apart.... They ran out of vodka, beer, tequila and ice at the bars ... you often had one choice... Rum. Had coffee ma [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Wonderful Resort
The resort is one of the most beautifully landscaped properties in Cayo Santa Maria. The pools are incredible. We met some of the most welcoming staff in the serving staff like Calixo, Julio in the buffet and Fabian Daniel and Jorge at the pool snack bar. Thomas at the Ocean bar was a pleasure to meet. What lovely staff. Supplies were slim including what people feel are essentials. I love the Cuban people and was not disappointed again.
Carisol los Corales: Good Resort!!!
We (as a couple) have been on this small resort 5 times and love it. Great people, great service, great beach and amazing snorkeling !!! Los Corales Hotel is great but Carisol area needs some renovation.
