Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Love love ❤️ Bahia Principe Punta Cana Dominican Republic it was my second vacation at this resort 😊 and I will definitely vaca there again hoping to go next year! Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Racism was terrible :(

When we first got to the resort.... we were so happy to see the nice weather, the clean resort, the welcoming from staff but then reality hit over the next few days. Racism towards my husband was terrible. They wouldn't serve him until everyone else was served. We later learned that Dominicans are racist towards other Black people thinking they are Haitians. What disappointment this trip was. No more Dominican trip for us.... :(

Secrets Royal Beach: Nice resort.

We felt as though the resort was very clean, and well kept. We also thought that the food was exceptionally good. We did not like how much of our time was taken up saying "no thanks" to all of the hotel staff trying to sell us excursions, upgrades, time shares, etc. We were very turned off by this. As Canadians we try to be as polite as possible, which was a downside for us. We would have been far better off just being firm and saying "not interested" as soon as they started talking to us.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Value for Money Resort

This was a nice resort, I think I got value for money. The food was enjoyable, even though I do not eat meat, there was always a fish/seafood option for me. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were OK, I was not too impressed with the way the room and bathroom was cleaned. the bathroom seemed quite messy to me, even after it was cleaned. The entertainment was enjoyable especially the Michael Jackson show and the Beach Party. I recommend that the Beach Party is held twice during the [... read more] week, since it is so much fun and invites participation from guests. I was slightly disappointed with the resort since my friend who had been there previously really "upsold" the resort to me, so it did not meet the expectations which were created. I will say though that it was value for the amount I had paid.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Absolutely, 100% Terrible

The grounds and the layout of the hotel were the ONLY good thing about this resort. The food was terrible, no variety at the buffet and the quality left a lot to be desired. The whole 7 days we were there, our room never got cleaned; garbages didn’t get changed, bed linens didn’t get changed, nothing. We had I hunt down a staff member for water as the fridge didn’t get stocked, and we also had to hunt down toilet paper multiple times as the maids didn’t come a single time during our stay [... read more] , even after letting them know about it. We put the sign up for our room to be cleaned daily but it was obviously ignored. The staff are not very friendly. There is no real lobby or lobby bar to hang out at, unless you are VIP. The resort itself is situated in what feels like the middle of a random street, and when we pulled up to it I actually said out loud, “I hope this isn’t ours” as it was like we were just stuck there and didn’t really feel like it was gated from the local town/village. There were constantly people on the resort trying to get you to buy stuff, which is fine, but they were absolutely relentless and wouldn’t leave you alone. The pools were DISGUSTING, to the point where you didn’t dare open your mouth because you might swallow bird poop. There were not enough palapas/umbrellas in the pool areas. The pool on our block had only three umbrellas, and not enough seating. People even took one of the umbrellas and placed it on their terrace (why, I’m not sure because their balconies were fully covered so they wouldn’t need shade). The next pool had hardly any chairs, and no umbrellas at all and was the dirtiest pool of the two we swam in. The main pool we didn’t go to because it was too busy and you could never find a chair; and also there weren’t many shaded areas. The a/c didn’t work in the room as it should have. It was without a doubt the dirtiest, most unpleasant resort I’ve ever stayed at. I can’t believe it was even recommended to us by the travel agent. I’d never return, and I’d never recommend this hotel to anyone. My partner and I both got sick during our stay, and while I can’t say if it was from the food or not, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were. We’ve been down south 6 times within the last 7 years and have never gotten sick except for this time.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great experience

The Grand Bahia complex of hotels is an awesome resort - great food, dynamite beach and perfect entertainment late night, every night. The rooms are comfortable, clean and close to everything, with shuttles and pools right by the door. The check-in process and booking of restaurants is quite a hassle and could be improved. The bar drinks and service could also be improved, but we stayed during holy week so perhaps this was the reason for delays and sloppy cocktails. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: 1st vacation in 2 years

The Resort was Awesome - So Beautiful and Clean. The beach wasnt what I expected - rocky and it dropped off quickly. The only time I was in the water at the beach was when I took a step and in I fell hurting my elbow. The restaurants were Great but a lot of the food not only there but on the Buffet wasn't hot. The Bars kept running out of products that we liked along with clamato juice and it wasn't replace until the next day. The Staff was amazine and friendly. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Looked fresh and clean pictures but....

Rooms looked great in pictures but old and needed more up keep structurally. House keeping were doing a great job working with what they had. The grounds were okay and public areas. Meals were great and flavourable at the buffet. All staff were accommodating. Beach area needs cleaning up with all the smokers that were on the beach. The evening entertainment was pretty sad, could get rid of the show and just have dancing in the evening

Impressive Punta Cana: Nice Resort

This is a nice resort, good beach, clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The food is typical of an all-inclusive, you won't go hungry but don't expect fine dining. You don't need to make reservations for the a la cartes (except for the Japanese) which I initially thought was a good idea, however in hind site the reservation system is a better option. In my opinion, waiting in a line up during the day to make your reservation is far better than waiting in a huge line up later in the evening [... read more] when you are ready for dinner.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Week

This was my second trip to the VH Gran Ventana and it didn’t disappoint! The hotel is great, food was terrific and the staff are friendly and work very hard to keep the hotel clean. The hotel was fully booked during our stay however it didn’t feel crowded. I would recommend this resort and will probably return.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great vacation!

Staff polite and friendly, resort clean (public washrooms cleaned often), great weather , good tasting food at buffet and restaurants. Beach has coral short distance from shore, a lot of fish but strong under current.

Impressive Punta Cana: Awesome resort

Very beautiful resort. Nice kept ground, very nice big pool, nice staff, friendly environment, clean modern rooms, beach has seaweed but still nice, very safe with lots of security, different food choices, good entertainment, great for kids and family, very big resort, great night life.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: relaxing vacation

grounds were good, food was good, beach was clean but had sea weeds. the staff was polite but the vendors in the shops were too pushy, found Dominican Republic very americanised. found this resort lacked entertainment

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Casa Marina Beach Resort

I have been a visitor to this resort miultiple times in the past it was very refreshing to see the updates that they have made with the new renovations. As always the staff is friendly and courteous and the food was great. It was very convenient to be able to leave the resort and walk directly into the town of sosua and experience the downtown in public beach. It will definitely be a destination in the future

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Excellent resort!

New. Clean. Good service. Excellent food: the brazilian restaurant was among my best eating experience in 20 years traveling down south. The beach was slightly sub-par in comparison with the beach facing other hotel due to strong waves. Note that we took the Diamond club, which allowed to reserve the restaurants and eat breakfast by the beach.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Trip of a lifetime

The resort was absolutely perfect- it is well kept and beautiful! There are bars everywhere and bathrooms too! The rooms are nice and modern but still have a Caribbean flare to them. We were celebrating our wedding and could not have asked for a better place!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Majestic Colonial

We had traveled to the Majestic Colonial on April 15th. First impression, the resort is very well kept and grounds are clean. I would have to agree with other comments that the front desk is not overly friendly. English is not well spoken here as others say it is but there was a lot of workers that do not at all. I would say half of the employees are generally pleasant, but others move at a snails pace (slower than island time). As for accommodations, the rooms are nice but if you are travell [... read more]ing with a family, you will find it a bit difficult. The bathroom areas are poorly designed. You have a toilet room which is the size of the toilet room on a plane (no exaggeration at all!) the door is glass and frosted, no privacy for anyone. The shower is very large, they could have reconfigured some space to allow for a larger toilet space. There is a tub out in the open and in the open area of the main room/sink area. Just poor design to shower, change and use bathroom if your with all the family around. Food: Not bad, you definitely will not starve! My suggestion, go to the Rodeo Restaurant for Breakfast/Lunch buffet and if you need to, dinner as well. The supreme buffet (main buffet) is not great. POOR service. The servers run around everywhere but nothing gets done or drinks served. I even had food dropped on me from behind from a server cleaning another table and with no apology. The servers at the Rodeo area (Juan Louis, Carlos, Melvin & Rodriguez) are awesome! They actually remember you and serve you as if you were family! We tried the Rodeo Steakhouse and also the Seafood House (same area split in 2) food was great just ask for 2 entrees. Japanese was great as well and fun! Beach: Very good, not perfect but they try. Ocean is very wavy and can get tiresome. What we did find annoying is that there is someone always trying to sell you something. It becomes a headache after 2 days. Even the Beach merchants will leave you alone quicker than the resort merchants. Overall, nice place but we will not be repeat visitors of the DR. We find Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean must better and less sales tactics. We would recommend this hotel but it is just not our thing.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great times at Casa Marina Reef

Enjoyed our stay at the Casa Marina Reef! The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and a large variety. Traveled with Air Transat and were treated to a BBQ meal our final evening sponsored by the hotel and Air Transat it was delicious. Enjoyed the beach and the whirlpool tubs. Cannot say enough about the beautiful view that constantly surrounds you in this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Good family vacation

Hotel and food were great. Buffet always had plenty of selection. Staff at reception were always helpful. Beach was clean but had to walk about 10 minutes down the coast to get to nice clear water -- for this reason only we would not return.

Riu Republica: Relaxing Vacation

We just got back from a friends vacation at the RIU Republica. We thought the resort was very good. We were a little skeptical after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but our concerns were put to rest immediately after checking in. The staff were all very friendly and worked so hard. The grounds were immaculate, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I didn't have a problem with the food, there is more than enough variety to choose from, but if you are a foodie this is probably not th [... read more]e place for you. We must have stayed at the ideal time (April 15 - 22) because it was very quiet (not a lot of wild young adults). The pools are kept very clean and were a good temperature. You can walk for miles along the beach, and there are no rocks or even shells, you can walk barefoot without a problem. We never had a problem finding a chair at the pool or the beach. We would certainly return to this hotel.
