Haven Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

The rooms & grounds were fabulous! Buffet needs to be larger. Piano bar would be a great addition. Room service perfect! Marilu & Ernesto at pool bar were super. And Augusto, David, & Oscar at Limes were fabulous! As a 5 star resort, the champagne & spirits need to be upgraded. Beach was beautiful!

Riu Yucatan: Nice

It was good, good food however very repetitive. Loved the beach. Always able to find a lounger. The monkeys were so amazing by the bridge. Our rooms were spotless everyday. Next time I would choose the Riu Tequila.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: 10th visit but a little disappointed this time

I recently vacationed at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Riviera Maya. This was my 10th time visiting this resort. I have always returned to this hotel mainly because it is accessible, but also for its great value, amenities, food and service. But, on this last trip in November I was a little disappointed. When we tried to make our 3 a-la-carte restaurant reservations on the first day, we were told that the hotel was completely booked and had difficulty getting any restaurant reservation. Howe [... read more]ver, each night throughout the week, we witnessed at least 2 of the 8 restaurants we had to choose from were closed. If your hotel is full, why would you close restaurants and not let your guests know? Also, as a returning guest, I was continually harassed to join the Iberostar Club and book directly with the hotel on future visits. Once I decline, the hotel concierge staff should not pursue the matter. Otherwise the trip was very enjoyable. Regarding the accessibility, it would be great if the hotel could add a few more wheelchair accessible spots on the beach in addition to the existing two. These spots are in high demand, so a couple more spots would be greatly appreciated.

Riu Vallarta: Great Resort

Hotel was newly renovated. Grounds were freshly manicured and kept prestige at all times. Rooms were very clean [Not all rooms had new furniture - Junior suite - new bathroom but old furniture, and the standard room - new bathroom and new furniture]. Food was standard buffet but pretty good.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Awesome trip!

We recently stayed at this amazing hotel for a 4 day getaway. The staff, the food, the weather, the hotel! Everything was perfect! One of our best trips yet! We have been to a lot of resorts in Mexico and I think this is one of the best trips we have had! We will definitely be returning!

Riu Flamingos: RIU JALISCO

Overall the hotel lived up to its 4plus rating. Food was very good and the beach was perfect. Loved that we could walk for miles along the beach. The room was clean however needed a little TLC. Service and staff were pleasant and helpful. We had an amazing time and we’re very pleased with our choice.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Excellent Value

The Paradisus La Esmeralda is a very well appointed resort. The five core a la carte restaurants were very solid with Bana being home to the best sea bass I’ve ever had. The staff across resort are quite friendly and Mario at Vento was simply the nicest and attentive server we’ve had in a long time. The rooms are clean and are in pretty good shape. It should be noted that while there is a small restaurant there, they do not have a stocked bar. The beach is definitely a plus with a long stretch of soft white sand and plenty of chairs. Now the cons: The check in process was more stressful than it needed to be and with two little kids in tow was difficult to then drag our bags to our rooms. We also had an issue with one of our credit cards not being processed. In more than a dozen all inclusive trips overseas this has never happened so I highly recommend alerting your bank to your travel plans. There were also a LOT of mosquitoes to and with several of the restaurants and the main lobby area open air this left our children exposed to several bug bites the first couple days. Finally, I’ve never been more bothered for upgrades or to attend a time share presentation in my life. There are staff members literally lurking behind corners to greet you and inquire if you want to upgrade a room or rent a cabana. These are resort staff and by the seventh time I had to be very firm with them and then also seek ways to avoid them. This was very frustrating. Overall, the resort is a nice place for families with young kids and on par with a resort like the Azul Fives.

Riu Playacar: Another great trip to Riu Playacar

This is the second visit to Riu Playacar in the last 4 years and it was as great as I remembered. This is a nice relatively small resort where everything is a short walk away. The staff are exceptional- unbelievably hard working and very friendly. Although we ate at the buffet the majority of the nights, it was great to not have to make reservations at the ala carte restaurants. We ate twice at the steakhouse and enjoyed both meals. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Wonderful Family Vacation!

The room was beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous. Loved seeing all the wildlife! Pool and beach were great. Beach was a little rocky but you could always find a clear spot to walk out. Food was AMAZING! Los Lirios restaurant was our favourite! Drinks could improve. More bartenders are needed at each bar. The 24 hour snack bar is sit down and order from a vegetarian menu. Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Stunning Resort!!

This hotel did not disappoint. From it’s picturesque landscapes to it’s well maintained property and incredibly friendly staff this was a vacation we will never forget. Be sure to visit Juan at the excursions desk, he was beyond helpful with informing us about the area and recommending some unforgettable experiences. We will certainly be back Akumal Bay! 😍

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcelo Maya Colonial

Some a la carte restaurants were excellent, others were mediocre. Buffets were OK. Snorkeling was better than I expected. Service all around was excellent. Well staffed. HUGE resort. Stay at 1 and play at 4 although each of the other 3 are virtually identical to the one you are at. haha. Good value for the money. Entertainment was not to my liking. Extremely loud and would have preferred more latin american music. I would go back again.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Incredible Resort

Love Love this Resort for the atmosphere and the staff. It is like coming home. Very Authentic and warm feeling. The staff are incredible, they are family. Right from the top, Lulu Estrada - greats you with a smile no issue is a problem and solved immediately. To the Bar Staff, Maria (White Sands) is simply one of the best, Diego (Colonial Bar) very efficient and does it with a smile, El Gaucho was one of our favorite restaurants Arturo the best server and personality lots of fun. (Lem [... read more]on pie was amazing) Morning Buffet in the Hacienda was pretty good for a buffet, lots to choose from ask to sit in Estevina's section she will take care of you. Our room was clean and bright, the beach was impeccable and the pool area was always clean. David thank you for cleaning up after us. To the transportation team thanks for getting us around the resort you always seem to be there when we needed a ride. If you have a medical emergency don't stress the Medical facility is right on site and Dr. Araceli Yunuen Sanches Duran will take care of you with a warm smile and expertise. Aqua Excursions - your dive and water sport facility is located right on the beach. The best guys you can trust you husband with for 8 dives and bring him back safe. Rudy you are the best, love that smile warmth you give to your students and experienced divers . Chris (Cenote) thanks for giving my husband a great experience every time you take him out. Will miss our family away from home, tell next time.

Canto Del Sol: Great little resort

The service at this resort is second to none. Staff is friendly and go out of thier way to make your stay as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Food in al la carte restaurants is amazing especially the surf and turf outside by the ocean. The buffet is ok. Drinks are good and plentiful. The wine was good but the champagne was horrible. Hot chocolate mulled wine and tons of shortbread and other treats. Children from the orphanage sang carols along with other seasonal entertainment. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable although the balconies were very tiny. I loved that were we so close to shopping and conveniences. I would totally recommend this hotel to couples, singles or families.

Allegro Playacar: Nice little resort with a few drawbacks

Hotel is well taken care of, grounds are nice. It is a manageable size, the walk from lobby to beach is only a few minutes. Staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. Drink service by the pool was excellent. Now the negatives: main bar does not start serving alcohol until 11am and pool bar not until NOON. I have traveled extensively, 10 times to Mexico and have never heard of such a thing. I love my vodka/orange juice in the morning so this was a big let down and the Transat website i [... read more]s incorrect in stating that service begins at 10am. This will be a big deterrent for people, so I can't see it staying in place long. The other big drawback, is the noise. If you are a light sleeper and get stuck near the disco, basketball courts or a rude neighbour, good luck getting any sleep. Someone felt the need to play basketball every morning at 730am, and it sounded like they were dribbling in our room. I was constantly checking if the windows were open because the noise was crazy. If someone walked by, you could hear every word of their conversation even if they were speaking quietly. We were in the 27 block of rooms, and it was a good location as far as getting everywhere, but being by the court was not worth it. Rooms were nice, small beds. They called it a queen but there is no way. Beach is gorgeous, beautiful water and sand. Food was good, only complaint is they only had bacon 1 morning! There is a pizza shack by the pools, it was nice to just grab a quick slice. Have some fries with the nacho cheese sauce and one of the pulled meats on top, delicious! We got this resort on a selloff for quite cheap so we were happy with our trip. They need to change the bar hours though! We were thirsty!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful Vacation!

Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an was an absolutely stunning resort!! The grounds are so well taken care for and it’s really refreshing to see all the wildlife, too! I would definitely recommend coming here, and I would not hesitate about going back! We’re already planning our next trip.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Awesome sound meditation

I had awesome sound meditations at this resort. Rene Najera led the meditations with a wide variety of instruments that guided me to a deeply relaxed and peaceful state. He created sound harmonies with his Tibetin singing bowls, a gong, a Didgeridoo, a kalimba, a handpan drum, chimes as well as his voice. I suffer from insomnia and the evening sound meditations left me feeling grounded and calm and I slept really well. I attended all the sessions I could. Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Delay nightmare

We had a rough start to our vacation on December 1, 2019. When we landed at the airport our Air Canada Representative was late which caused a lot of confusion for travellers. Then, when she finally arrived and checked our documents, we boarded a bus where we sat for almost an hour….no idea why, other than for the driver to sell beer to the passengers at $5 American per bottle. (There was also no Air Canada Representative available, at any time, at our hotel to assist with our concerns and wo [... read more]rries). When we finally arrived at the Royal Decameron hotel the hotel staff had no idea why we were there. The staff member could not find my name in their system anywhere, and after making a bunch of phone calls, with negative results, made me “hold” a room for a night with my Visa card, even though I had all of my paper work with me. The “ hold” was for a total of $306.50, posted to my bank account. Not only could they not locate our reservation, they demanded photo copies of our passports even after showing them all of our documentation. This is extremely concerning to me as no one should be taking “copies” of passports and keeping them. I requested they be destroyed once the proper paperwork came through, which they said they would do. I have no way of confirming that actually happened. I am always extremely concerned of fraud and identity theft both here in Canada and when we travel as I am a government employee, who deals with fraud cases involving identify theft on a daily basis. My partner and I travel frequently and have never faced anything like this. One of the reasons we chose this trip was for the amazing flight times provided by Air Canada. Our plan was to be on the beach and enjoying the beautiful weather by noon. Instead, due to all of the unnecessary hold ups and reservation issues, our actual vacation time was delayed for several hours. Although that may seem unimportant, to us, it was extremely important since our last day at the resort we had to catch our bus back to the airport at 8:00 a.m. …. I have no idea what went wrong and at what level of the booking process our information was delayed. All I know is that this is not how I wanted, or expected, my vacation to begin. On Dec. 2, 2019, our second day at the resort, we met with the front desk at 11:00 a.m. in order to see if they had our paperwork come through. There we waited again for approximately 45 minutes for them to finally tell us all was in order. The $306.50 was reimbursed, which has not been confirmed yet as it is still showing as pending in my account. On a positive note, the resort itself was lovely. The staff was amazing, the resort very clean, and the food was excellent. I have zero complaints when it comes to that. I would definitely recommend the Royal Decameron to my friends and family and would easily give it a 4.5 star.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue bay esmeralda

It certainly was not the best hotel I stayed in. We had to have staff spray for ants or bugs. Food was pretty good. Towels could have been softer. Did not like the critters walking around that much.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing resort

Hotel is simply beautiful from room to lobby to grounds..Have been to mexico numerous times and this is by far the nicest workers we have met..Always a smile..loved the coffee shop and not having to book alacartes was awesome..Food was probably at the top of most resorts we have been..Best omlette i have ever had..
