Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic vacation

This was our 2nd time at this resort and we will return. We enjoyed our vacation to the fullest. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. All of the staff work very hard to keep the resort beautiful & clean. The beaches are perfect. The food was also good.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Amazing resort

We love this place. A small resort,quiet and relaxing.The staff was anazing.This was our third time at the resort. We met fantastic people and will definitely return next year.?We were a little disappointed that the bogeguita restaurant was closed

Melia Varadero: Amazing resort and service!

Everything from the moment you walked in just feels right! It is a beautiful well kept resort and the staff are amazing. They go above and beyond for their guests. I’ve been there twice and we plan on going again next year. If you can upgrade to the level, I highly recommend it.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Fabulously friendly staff!

This is a smaller resort with everything in close proximity which was nice. The beach of course is perfect with lots of shade. The pool is huge and cleaned every day. The Portuguese restaurant was excellent and the manager Billeby was so kind and attentive to all our needs. What a wonderful employee! As well beautiful Jennifer in the lobby was lovely and made our trips to the lobby bar always so much fun. Two wonderful employees. We went to the Italian restaurant at 6:30 and didn't get our m [... read more]eal until 8:10. It was undercooked so we went to the buffet which had every kind of food you could possibly want. The rooms were fine, the bathtub has a very tall wall and the tub floor is extremely slippery. If you have mobility issues, this will be tough to manage. Honestly i would suggest going to a dollar store and getting some anti slip decals. I wish I had had some! The shower was mostly good although we had a few cold showers. The hotel has mostly french canadians so not too much english spoken. The entertainment was mostly in french so we did not know what a lot of the games were about. If you have small children,this is the place for you. The entertainment staff for the kids was excellent, the kiddies had a ball. The churros beside the entertainment stage in the evening were delicious. There are plenty of tables and chairs in the lobby, no need to rush to get a seat after dinner. There is a little market on the road to the left of the resort, about a five minute walk where you can get all kinds of souvenirs for cheaper than at the hotel. All in all I would recommend this resort as the staff are among the friendliest you will ever meet. Sending our great appreciation to Jennifer and Billeby.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Beautiful Beach

Tryp Cayo Coco is fully restored after the Hurrican two years ago. The lobby is bright and open. The check in is fast. Our room was well appointed lots of hot water. The meal choices in the buffet are vast always chicken, pork, beef, fish. Several types of potato, and vegetable. Large assortment of desserts and ice cream. I have been to Cuba six times,to Tryp Pre and post hurrican there standards are very high, the grounds are beautifully maintained. The Ocean view is spectacular. Sol Turquesa Beach: The staff at this resort are incredible!

This resort was wonderful, but if you have any mobility issues, book elsewhere. There are a lot of stairs everywhere. Also, there isn't a bug spray made that stops the bugs from biting. I have been to Cuba numerous times, and never had an issue with bug bites. This year they were unbearable. With this said, we had an amazing vacation and Love Cuba.

Melia Costa Rey: Great resort

Great resort and good food. Very clean and very friendly staff. Would return for another stay. Customer service provided us with milk for the little ones, and also organized a birthday party for our daughter, which was really great on their part.

Costa Morena: Relaxing and Inviting

Fantastic, friendly staff and a beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed snorkeling, seeing the sights and even did some hiking while there. Although we stayed in the older section of the resort our room was clean, comfortable and gave us all we needed for our stay. Our housekeeping staff Cecilia was amazing. One week just wasn’t enough time to see all that we wanted but it was a great vacation!!!

Muthu Playa Varadero: WOW place to be

This was a good place to be. The staff from the tour guides to the lobby every one wore a smile and always Hola Hola. The pool area was always clean and every guest wanted to be outside. The part i enjoyed most was the food always available almost 247. Most guests didnt know there is a clean microwave to reheat your food in the dinning area. Trust me i made use of it. My water bottle was always full with Crystal beer. I got the room i wanted with ocean view. Every linen was clean and crisp [... read more]y. I remember Theresa the clean made hearts out of our bedcover. Not forgetting Lucia a cleaning supervisor she was terrific. Muthu Playa i will be there again...

Brisas Covarrubias: Good !

BRISAS COVARUBBIAS Feb 5 - 15, 2020 We had a very good flight down with Air Transat but waiting for our luggage was painful. Since we were the only ones going to this resort, it was lovely to have a nice private taxi. Driver was great and his English was pretty good. It was definitely a long, bumpy ride but when we got to the resort, all was forgotten. Check in was done quickly and we were soon in our in fast time. The view from our balcony was spectacular and mere steps to the beach. Bathroom was ok but could use some cleaner caulking in some areas which was a little gross but clean nonetheless. The maids kept our room very clean. Only two smallish towels were provided but I assume we could have asked for more but didn't. Some towels really need to be replaced as they were heavily stained and at times we were reluctant to use them even though they were clean. The beach stretches out on either side which makes for great walking in the morning. It is a stunning beach with beautiful powdery white sand. The water was shallow enough to just bob around in. It seemed like they could use more loungers on the beach as people spent time walking around looking for a few. Sadly we joined in on the towel game and got our loungers early in the morning. We didn't use the pool simply because we are beach lovers. At times though walking by the pool, we noticed is was quite murky and wouldn't have gone in anyways. They were constantly cleaning it but I wonder if they are lacking the material needed to "shock" the water. The buffet food was pretty good ! Was always hot and they replenished the trays often. Great selection of cheeses, fruit, breads and more. The grilling station was fantastic. We enjoyed pork, fresh fish, shrimp kabobs and even a rack of lamb - all very delicious. Staff were wonderful and we didn't have to wait long to get a drink as the dining room was never really full....until Valentine's Day. They work so hard but always had a smile as they went along serving guests. Another reviewer stated no a la cartes. Well yes there sure is. We enjoyed two dinners here and very good. It's a nice change from the buffet. The lobster however left little to be desired as it was either undercooked or just bad. Was mushy and we couldn't eat it. Steak was tasty. The beach snack bar also served great food. Hamburgers were always cooked well. Pizza was great. Once again, service fantastic ! It was frustrating however to be in line waiting for your order and a local would come right up and be given large quantities of hamburgers while we had to wait for another batch to be cooked. I think education for staff is the key. They really need to be told to have these people stand in line & wait their turn. Was a very frustrating experience. Getting a drink at the bar was difficult.....one would have the bartender continually pouring cups of beer...10 sometimes 20. The dining room was actually very appalling in that for the first time we witnessed, hoards of food being put into bags and taken out. Same with the beach snack bar. We just shook our heads with this behaviour and waited...and waited longer. Thankfully it was only two days of this behaviour. First few days the mosquitoes/no seeums were out in full force. Had a few bites but nothing like some tourists got. After that, they did fog a few times and made a big difference. We didn't use spray after that. I think we're just lucky ones that bugs don't go after. We really didn't notice much in the way of shortages. The store at times didn't have Cristal beer. There were a few times that ice wasn't available but that was only for a short time. The resort seemed to have had everything that most would expect at mealtimes. For wine lovers, it was so-so. White wine was just ok and the red was quite nice. They did run out of french fries at the beach snack bar and the pizza, they only had once. The staff were second to none and wonderful. Once again, we met some amazing people....tourists & staff alike. We would certainly like to return but will rethink the time frame. Valentine's is not the time to come. The locals came in droves and pretty much took over the resort which would be fine as they are obviously happy to be on vacation like all of us ... but. This butting in line - taking huge amounts of food - ordering many, many beer at one time while we've been standing there for awhile isn't something we would like to witness again. We had a great time in spite of these happenings. The guests we met and the staff that endured Pat's sense of humour will always be in our hearts. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great resort, great staff!

The hotel was in good shape. Bungalow 59 could use some updates compared to our friend's bungalow (61). Water pressure failed one day, but was fixed the following. No great concern. Overall, kept very clean and tidy. Butler service was amazing and very helpful. Food was good, no issues at all. Beach grill awesome. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Actually feel it could be marketed as an eco hotel due to all the lush vegetation and trees present. We never experienced  [... read more]any concerns and would return.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing Resort!

This resort was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were amazing and made you feel welcome. The room and all the facilities were clean. There was always something going on for entertainment. Overall an amazing time! Will definitely be going back. Only downside was the food wasn't amazing and the buffet coffee was horrible. Had to go to the lobby bar for a decent cup of coffee. Location of resort is great for the beach (Pilar beach is right down the road) but far if you want to explore the City.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: This is the worst Resort

This is the worst hotel I been in the 5 time that I been to Cuba the food was bad the service was bad they run out of plates and glasses no soup bowls , the beach was on the other side of the street the bars were not opened at the times they said .they run out beer sometimes they had no ice no more Vodka , and the rooms were terrible they look nothing like the picture they show online they have no keys for the safety deposit box in the room I will never stay there again

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Gone down hill

We have been here a few times this will be the last ! The resort is being over run by locals , which are taking lots and lots of food out . I know Cuba isn’t known for its food but this was bad . Every morning our eggs weren’t cooked they only had bacon 2 days . If you wanted sprite for your drink you had to pay for it , if you wanted amber rum you had to pay for it . That has never happened before . Our keys went dead the last day , I had to fight with the front desk for 5 hours to let me i [... read more]n my safe so I could get our passports and money ! 20 minutes before we left is when they finally let me in . They have put on face book about all these Reno’s that are being done ... what they have done is nice . The place is still clean :) it’s definitely not how it used to be .

Gran Muthu Imperial: Some good, some bad, overall we enjoyed.

Good: the resort grounds and the rooms, location of resort is close to Pilar beach, drinks were good (pina colada and espresso- so good!), the international and seafood restaurant a la carte were very good, the snack bar was awesome and we were so thankful for that, the bread was so good!!, entertainment staff were great especially Rico and Williams.. Bad: the pools were insanely cold, I am not picky but the pools were WAY too cold to enjoy, some of the service (especially by one man at the  [... read more]front desk) was awful.. almost had to beg for attention, our key cards stopped working every single day and we had to line up at the front to get new cards (didnt take long at all depending on the line), the chinese a la carte we thought wasnt good, the buffet food was alright (its cuba so it's what we expected) thankful for the pasta and omelette stations, while the beach was beautiful, going into the water without shoes on was painful unless you walked to the beach in front of the family resort, only mimosas 3/7 days at breakfast (they could easily have got the champagne from other bars at the resort to make people happy but didnt).. long lines at the lobby bar always. Overall: we had fun, there was always food to eat (even if we went to the snack bar multiple times a day), always cold drinks, the excursion Pilar Beach Media Luna was so fun (and a delicious lobster lunch!), the lobster shack beside the family resort was delicious, and your trip is really dependent on your attitude. If you let the negatives get to you, you wont have a good trip.. but despite some annoying things, we had fun.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great place, great food, great music!

We stayed here 7 years ago and loved it then. We were a bit nervous going back after so much time, but we’re not disappointed. We decided to upgrade to the privilege section and it was worth it. The grounds were well kept, the rooms were clean, friendly staff, great food, especially in the privilege lounge. Live music in the lobby and piano bar every night! Also, direct flight from Ottawa to Varadero and a short bus ride to the resort.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing weather, beach and landscaping. Exterior of the 6 buildings looked great.

We were disappointed that the resort was advertised as all inclusive. Neither red nor white wine was available during our two week stay unless you bought a bottle. The rooms needed to be upgraded - old worn out furniture. Had to ask for a room change because of the condition of our first room. Food was questionable. Sometimes labelled. Sometimes not labelled. Sometimes labelled incorrectly. Specialty restaurants were a real disappointment. The food was not good at all. Some items on the menu [... read more] were not available. Translation from Spanish to English and French was very poorly done. What you received was not necessarily what you thought you had ordered. Staff for the most part were very friendly and accommodating.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Horrible!

I don’t usually write reviews but I think this hotel needs one. I want to start with the stuff at the front desk that were not very nice and every time you asked them for something such as a bottle of water they said that they have to send it to the room but this took 24 hrs on two different occasions and you were better off buying at the store of the resort. The beach TOWELS were a huge problem for 5DAYS they said they don’t have new ones and yes we had to use the same ones 5 days in a row  [... read more]yeahhh gross, I have never experienced this before at any other resort. Pretty much if want good service DO NOT go to this resort because you won’t get it even if you tip them. Our room was also a problem and the balcony door wasn’t closing properly but again they said there is nothing that they can do because they do not have any other rooms available.

Starfish Jibacoa: Beautiful Resort!

I stayed in a beautiful cottage facing the ocean! What a gorgeous view. The beach is well maintained and the swimming and snorkeling are great. There is an abundance of beach loungers. And if you want to get out of the sun, shade is provided by trees. The expansive grounds are well maintained. Daily housekeeping excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. There is an abundance of food. My only suggestion... there is usually a long lineup at the grill at lunch and dinner....perhaps have two che [... read more]fs instead of just the one at the grill.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Excellent!

Staff always friendly and excellent , food best ever my 5th time at resort hot water, ac, all week! Beautiful Resort! Oldest on cayo coco ! Huge Spanish influence not your typical resort, this one has Character! Pools great , 1 hr from Moron, 20 min walk to market , short taxi drive to Lennys a Lobster shack! Excellent food!
