Paradise Playa Dorada: Sub Par / Bit Dated. Look elsewhere unless you get a deadly deal

Pros: Good food, large beach, lots of bars to choose from, everything on the resort is close to your room and is accessible for people with disabilities Cons: 4th floor rooms don’t have balconies, many have ants, hot water is limited in busy times like at the end of the day or when the resort is at capacity, many things cost extra like a room with a balcony, a room with ocean view, being able to lay on the beach on the non windy side of the resort as this is reserved for the premium club u [... read more]pgrade vacationers and even if there are 100 empty loungers security will kick you off that part of the beach unless you pay $25USD / day to upgrade to the premium level.

Riu Republica: good resort

food was good but not too many options no reservations for all carts but they rushed you in and out.butler service at the pool with George was great service at bars was excellent.majority of staff not very friendly, maid service missed 2 days of service had to call desk to get rooms made even after tipping every day.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Been to DR 6 times.... Best one yet!

Clean rooms and grounds, lots of things to do with the kids within the resort, amazing food and great selection. The only thing that I would warn people about is that the beach swim area had a lot of coral with seaweed attached so you really had to go over to next resort areas to have a swim, also don't know if it is always like this or just while we were there but beach was very winding so a lot of blowing sand. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Nice Clean Resort That Lacks Umbrellas

This was our first all inclusive and although we enjoyed it, there weren’t enough umbrellas around the pool to accommodate everyone (not even half as many as they needed). There were no umbrellas or cabanas at the beach so you couldn’t find shade there either. The food was great, the resort was clean although the bed was really hard but the lack of umbrellas was what really took away from our overall experience.

Ocean El Faro: High-ish end, with high pressure tactics

Our time there with family was great and memorable. Our room was fantastic, probably one of the best rooms we've ever had. The service staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. The buffet was very good, the a la-carts were surprisingly poorly executed. However, the real negatives were mostly centered around the staff attempting to push you to use other pay services, take expeditions, and the insistent harassment to sit down and get a high-pressure sales pitch to become a member of H10 / W [... read more]orld vacations (whatever it was). Ocean El Faro promotes themselves as a 5-star experience (the stars are even in their logo)... however, this experience spoiled much of our "relaxation" as you couldn't sit still without someone approaching you - and they weren't taking NO as an answer. OH - and they are constantly wanting you to drink your face off! Most likely so you'll bend on the hard sell stuff. As we said to all these people - "we know where you are, and we will find you if we want X". In short - we had a great time, but would never return. Also, I wouldn't even expect this level of harassment at a 3-star... so they need to correct that if they want to convey themselves as a professional operation. The news of the casino scam that same week in the same area, with the same game at what was called a casino here (which we played for all of a few minutes a night before) really got our backs up too. Although, I'm not saying they were hustling - but it felt possible. Weird vibe. One last thing - I had attempted to contact our Tripcentral agent a number of times leading up to our departure (over the course of a couple months), attempting to pay for a surprise add-on for my Wife as we were celebrating her 50th while there... I was very surprised none of my email messages were returned. Maybe someone can address why this was the case? It's like the agent wasn't getting them - but yet it was her direct email address. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Incredible Trip

Food was Excellent, Resort room and staff were great. The Excursion “VIP PLAYA GRANDE” amazing what and incredible Vacation. We are already thinking of a return trip in the future. Thank you Victoria from Trip Central 🤟❤️

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Be live grand marien

Everything was amazing but there was some Disappoinment with being on the ground floor when we had wanted balcony. The other thing was not knowing that at Easter time the people From the area all come to the resort and party all night. Otherwise we had a blast.

Ocean El Faro: Meh

Traveled here with my husband and 2 kids (6 & 8) mid April 2019. The resort MAY be a 5 star in a year or so but it isn't there yet. There is a lot that is yet to be finished and it is obvious some of the construction was rushed. Our shower is just one example of this. The water didn't drain quickly enough, even for a quick shower, and since the lip of he shower wasn't high enough it flooded the bathroom! Every time we showered! The servers at the buffet and snack bar are run off their feet but can't keep up. Plates pile up on the table and drinks don't get refilled. This is not due to lack of effort by the employees, but the lack of sufficient employees. Also if you are a beach person don't even consider this place. The beach is awful - and is not something they will be able to fix. I would say pass on this resort this year and check the reviews again next year. It could be a great resort by then.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Wonderful wedding

The Majestic Elegance was an outstanding location for our daughter's wedding - spectacular setting, wonderful staff - everything was perfect. The resort is beautifully maintained, the food is excellent, and bar staff were superb. Our wedding planner couldn't have done more to make this a perfect event. We are all planning to return as soon as we can.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Unbelievable resort

Everything was pristine, only complaint was lack of english known by staff. Food was amazing, resort was very clean. Very friendly employees with some a small few having bad attitudes. ten out of ten.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: It is a DREAM

This was the perfect resort. Food was incredible in taste, presentation and variety. The grounds were impeccable The room clean and big and beautiful. The beach was nice - chairs close together Ppl friendly

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Endless Pools

The pools go on and on, and Mirage supplied lots of toys to float away the day. From early morning to late afternoon, in the pool, floating, treading water, swimming or in the warm ocean. The bali beds had curtains so you could protect yourself from the hot sunburning sun. Of course there was plenty of beds, plenty of lounges, plenty of towels and of course waiter service for your drinks. Do you want a Nutella crepe with banana or apples and caramel for breakfast, lunch or dinner, it is there. [... read more] Oh the drink of the resort is called the Majestic of course. Be patient you are in no rush, you are on holiday time, so your drinks will come. The Dominican night with music, a great barbecue and the Circus night were great. The courtyard at night was warm and breezy so you could enjoy music and dancing.The activity department worked very hard,with long hours. There was a milkshake shop and a sports bar, unlimited locations to pick up food and cold drinks any time of the day and night. I had a 2 storey unit where my daughter and enjoyed star gazing and a rosy soak in the great big jacuzzi. Food well there was plenty of that, as it was Easter of course there was plenty of fish. I really enjoyed the open restaurant at the sea open for all 3 meals, where you could cool off and enjoy the ocean. Well next year will come !!!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: GREAT TIME!

Everything was really nice about the rooms and the hotel. Mannuel was very accommodating and polite at check in. The grounds were beautiful and the beach was never ending....just beautiful! The food was very good, lots to choose from and the waitresses were attentive. The one thing that was disappointing for my husband was that there was no RYE WHISKEY to be had anywhere on the resort, unless you paid for it. Canadians LOVE their RYE!! The entertainment team too a little too long every time to set up their entertainment which kind of deflated the mood. Some of the entertainment staff have to realize that we are on holidays because a few times they were very rude to some of the tourists. We witnessed it on a few occasions and people around us noticed it too. Other than that, this was a beautiful resort and we had a lot of fun and met some great people :-)

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Beautiful stay

Was there with my son and we love the complex. The food is good. The beaches are nice and clean. The superior rooms are outdated but have good beds. Take the deluxe supplements, it is worth it. The animation is comparable to Cuba resorts. The people serving are amazing which make the hotel a 4 star.

Riu Republica: 3.5 to 4 star resort

Overall this was a nice resort; however given it was listed as a 5 star, we were expecting more. I've done a lot of travelling to Dominican as well as other places down south such as Mexico and Jamaica and the 4 stars I've stayed at were nicer than this 5 star. The resort felt quite small and although there were daily activities, they weren't listed anywhere so you only knew about them if you happened upon them. Originally our room was on the party side of the resort near the bar and we were not able to sleep our first night with the music and drunk people yelling down the halls at 3am. We asked to be moved to the quieter side of the resort and then we had a much better time. We very much appreciated their accommodation of this request. The service was excellent. Every staff member definitely cares you enjoy your stay and they go above and beyond. The food was pretty good but it was the same thing served for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in the main buffets. Because some of the specialty restaurants were buffet style, there weren't many actually a la cartes to choose from. On the plus side the beach was beautiful, the pools were great, there were always lawn chairs to choose from, the resort was very clean and the rooms were well maintained.

Whala Bayahibe: You get what you pay for

Grounds very well taken care of Public washroom always kept clean Rooms are average, kept clean Disappointed in the following no coffee makers in the rooms so you have to wait till the restaurant opens at 7:30 to get coffee and by that time there is a line up. Beach towels you had to put a deposit of $10 US Safe $20 US, according to the contract they hand you regarding the safe you get your deposit back at the end of the term. Only 1-restaurant that is included 2 other restaurants on the resort but you have to pay for them Bar opens at 10 and closes at 11 and after 11 you have to pay for drinks Entertainment started around 8:40pm and nothing to do until then Oh and you can take the shuttle to the PUBLIC beach and once you are there you are bugged to purchase things from locals, plus you have to pay for a chair, and all your alcohol Chairs at the resort, you had to be up at 4am to reserve a chair by the pool, needless to say we never had a chair. I'm there for vacation not to get up early Locals can pay to come into the resort for the day this includes buffet and pool access I would not recommend this hotel to a family as there is nothing for the kids to do, so if you are ok entertaining them all day then this is your resort. Bar staff needs some work with friendliness took a lot to get them to smile For a last minute booking and needing a cheap get away this was perfect we made the best out of it, but I would not go back

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Paradise!

The Majestic Elegance Resort in Punta Cana was fabulous! The setting is idyllic, positioned on the beautiful oceanfront beaches, with immaculately maintained grounds and gardens. There is a very nice spa offering a variety of pampering treatments. The well equipped gym is clean and very useful to help burn off some calories after indulging at the buffet, or one of the many restaurants. The buildings of the resort are clean, well maintained, and architecturally interesting, allowing the ocean breezes to blow through. I highly recommend this resort.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Resort

The grounds were very well kept and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the ocean from our room and balcony. The beach offered lots of shade or sun depending on what you were looking for. I appreciated that it was a quieter resort (being an adult only) and if we wanted a more lively environment, we were minutes from the sister resort - Barcelo Palace which offered great evening entertainment. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Vacation!

Friendly staff, great pools, great service, beautiful grounds and beach. Restaurants were great, food was really good. No complaints! We spent a week here and had a great time. We would definitely go back!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great resort! Too bad so much emphasis on VIP!

The resort was very large and lots of walking. We knew this going in so it was not a surprise. The food was good and the staff were very attentive. We especially enjoyed Patrick and Jacqueline at the buffet at The Tropical, Casablanca. The entertainment staff at Cofresi was awesome! We enjoyed meeting Julio! He was lots of fun!!! We had a great time at the Lifestyle Sunday night bbq! It was fantastic as well as the Transat bbq.
