Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: A true 5 star

Amazing service, great food, perfect layout, loved the pools- will definitely go back. Top shelf drinks, never had to wait for a table. Plenty of restaurant choices, service by the pool and beach never kept us waiting.

Our stay at Secrets Silversands in the riviera maya was a very relaxing vacation. For us personally, the cons outweigh the pros. The resort itself was very nice, our room was very luxurious and the staff was always friendly and service was very good. Although, we were very disappointed when we arrived on the beach, we were not informed about the coral reef along our beach, not to mention the amount of seaweed washing up along the shore every morning. As we made our way over, we stopped to look at each other and said "that's it"!!! This side of the beach was much to my disappointment. My fiance and I payed alot for this vacation and the ocean is the one thing we love about getting away. The food was just okay, again, for the price of this trip, it did not meet our expectations. By the end of the night we like to grab a few drinks and head to the disco, to our disappointment, this resort did not have one. They had a lounge area with a live band playing mellow music and at 11:30 pm they had a DJ who played at the sports bar but did not consider it the disco, nor did anyone show up EVER! We thought this resort is geared towards older adults, retired couples or anyone who is looking to relax all day and night. Overall it was a VERY relaxing vacation.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Vacation

Just returned from an amazing vacation at Azul Fives Resort. Grounds are beautiful andvwell maintained. Rooms are spacious. Some are older but still well updated. Pools are incredible and extremely clean. Beach is beautiful with good swimming area. Chairs around beach and pool are plentiful. My only comment is the cabanas should be available and free to all guests. This is the first 5 star resort that didnt have cabanas available to everyone. Food was amazing. Restaurants were availab [... read more]le to all and unlimited. We went to them all and loved every one. Staff were all friendly and there to please!!! Gym was small for the size of the resort and could use updating. Yoga on the pier was awesome!!! Loved our stay and will definately recommend this resort to others.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue Bay exceeded all expectations

Arrived with my my wife and 2 kids and could not have been more pleased from drop off to pickup! Rooms were fantastic between a split 2 rooms with 2 showers for the 4 of us I have no complaints. Rooms were always turned down to perfection and hotel maids always asked if anything additional was required (water...beer etc...) All the buffets which we leaned towards always had something for the fussiest in our clan and all left with tummies full with great desserts. We are a very active family and were impressed by all the poolside activities along with nightly activities after dinner. The beech volleyball court was played on continuously and we always seemed to get great 6 on 6 matches going.... FANTASTIC resort that we will visit again in the near future !

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great resort!

Absolutely a fantastic resort that I recommend to everyone! Great food, good service, nice beach (even with some occasional rocks). THe restaurant a la carte are on high demands so book them upon your day of arrival. We were able to book 5 out of 7 restaurants since we stayed for 10 days. We tried the Italian, Steak House, Mexican, Japanese and Sea Food. You've got to try the Japanese for sure. The sesame sauce is great and the show is A MUST! Ocean Riviera Paradise: Keep Looking – better resorts out there

My husband and I just returned from the Ocean Riviera Paradise. We stayed there June 24–July 1, 2017. It was his first time in Mexico, and what a disappointment. Ocean RP is a new resort that just opened in December 2016, and it is obvious that they don't have all of the "kinks" worked out yet. I don't even know where to begin with my frustrations...from being left behind on day excursions (twice!!! – and the guy lied, leaving a "no show" slip with a time into the future! We're still await [... read more]ing our $263 CDN refund from Cancun Adventures) booked through the hotel lobby; to the 1300 people that checked in (making getting a drink or any personalized attention whatsoever impossible) two days before we left (part of the Dream Vacations pyramid marketing group); to opening the adult pool to local teens aged 13-20 (bunches of them, to the point that the pool was floating with balloon bits, straws, empty cups, and a slick of tanning solution). We couldn't get a pool chair (had to share one) and the swim-up bartenders were squeegeeing the same filthy water from the bar surface (yes, girls gone wild was taking place) down onto their working surface, into the ice and the limes used in our drinks. Forget about top shelf liquor – unless you're "Privileged", which, by the way, they assign you a "concierge" when you check in who tries to get you to attend a breakfast meeting with her in exchange for a $100 voucher to be used in the hotel amenities (like the spa). Ours even took it upon herself to send a wake-up call to our room at 8 a.m. our first full day of vacation. Can you believe that? Constant pestering led us to have to duck behind trees and into buildings to avoid her throughout the remainder of our vacation. The day trip excursion people are everywhere too. They are all doing battle with each other for your business and some are with the hotel, others are not. Very confusing. Oh, and the prices at the gif shop are outrageous. $12 US for a medium sized bag of cheezies. Their glassware and other souvenirs are 3x what you can find them in town (Playa) for. And the prices magically change when more people arrive. The hotel is also open to local merchants who walk the beach constantly, peddling their wares. My husband and I both got sick at Ocean RP – likely from the pool water in our drinks, although I was happy to lay in my room and wish the days away at that point, at least they get HBO. I literally cried with relief as I boarded the plane to come home to Toronto. This vacation was my twenty-seventh all-inclusive trip (with the majority of those trips having been purchased through TripCentral) and my tenth time to Mexico. I will NEVER return to this resort, or recommend this resort to my friends. I will however continue to book with TripCentral. Although this resort is listed as a 5 Star, I would say it is more like a 3. The property is nice, but you can't get into the ocean (filled with seaweed and you have to cross over sharp rocks), and the pools are very busy. A lot of children at this resort too. We were also only given one room key which is inconvenient, (note: we also got locked out of our room once too, as they had set our check-out day a day too early) and they had run out of towel cards too (but they gave us some towels anyway). The room was nicely decorated but very musty and because the air conditioning didn't vent to the outside, the sheets were wet. Wet! Our luggage weighed 5 lbs. more on the way back because nothing would dry. The resort is also 2 miles from the lobby to the beach. So get ready to walk, and walk a lot! Because the hotel is so new, there are no mature trees along this path, and by the time you got where you were going you were already burned (mind you we did decide to go to Mexico in June, where the average daily temperature is 42 degrees celsius). Two last things – the resort must have some sort of deal going with Coco Bongo, as their reps. are everywhere, and run the entertainment – all propaganda to get you to go to their nightclub. And finally, there is bizarre music piped throughout the resort which you can hear at all times, unless the Coco Bongo people are drowning it out. Very spacey. I think the intention was elegance, but they missed the mark with that one too. To summarize, I'm really sad that our vacation was a bust. We work really hard every year to go away, and I hated this trip. On a brighter side, the grass isn't always greener, and sometimes staying home – controlling what you are fed and get to drink – is a better time.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful and Clean Resort

We booked this resort for our honeymoon and were very pleased with the layout and cleanliness. The staff were always friendly and the food was very good. Beautiful pools and beach and we never had to reserve lounge chairs as happens at other resorts. That was so refreshing! Our room was nice and cool and always well maintained by housekeeping although it would have been nice to have more than just 2 beers stocked in our fridge. The entertainment staff could have used some help on their chore [... read more]ography and should have had some interaction with the guests outside of the hour of their show. It also would have been good to have a schedule of activities. I found it hard to figure out what was going on around the resort during the day if I wanted to get involved. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this resort and we will definitely be booking again!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Wonderful Family Trip in May/17!!

Our family loved the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach! The rooms were perfect for our family - spacious and clean! We loved the garden view. We also enjoyed the grounds. There were lots of animals to see every day! We are beach people so we spent most of our time at the beach! It is awesome! There are tons of pallapas on the beach so there is always shade and the snorkling is wonderful! We swam with turtles right off the shore and we swam with tons of fish! We also took advantage of the dolphi [... read more]n experience on site! My daughter (11) loved it and wanted to do it again! The food was good - we were never hungry. Our favourite restaurant was the Italian restaurant. We are planning on a return visit in November! We are very excited to head back to this resort!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Fabulous

Wonderful hotel. Great service. I don't not even one complain. My husband and I love it. 👍👍👍. The food is amazing. People are very helpful and hospitality. We went to celebrate our 15 wedding anniversary.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Awesome trip!

The hotel was perfect for the 5 adults and three children. Amazing from start to finish. Highly recommended for families! The only downfall is that the resort is 50 mins from the airport. This didn't bother us but it might not be for everyone.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Time, Nice Hotel

The Tropical is part of a larger, 5 hotel resort, 4 of which are open to guests. The Palace is not open to guest who are not staying at the a Palace. We have been to the Tropical many times and always enjoyed it. This time was very crowded (end of June, kids out of school), and I would avoid this week, if possible. A few weeks earlier had a much lower occupancy rate. It is extremely hot and humid at this time of year, although the AC worked great. Food was good, staff was wonderful.

Grand Sunset Princess: Awesome

The hotel and all the services they offer in our opinion are first class , Clean , variety and quality of food 10/10 Beach very nice to many roks for my liking This is our 10 times going to this resort .

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing trip @ amazing resort

Our second visit to Sian Ka'An. Booked with trip central (Sandy Nichols)- great experience - very knowledgeable and pleasant lady to deal with. The resort is beautiful; what make it GREAT is the Sian Ka'An buffet- outstanding food. We have traveling to Mexico for the last 11 years- twice per year- and this was the best buffet ever. We have booked 6 A la Carte- but ended up only using three restaurants- Alux & Maiko (both outstanding) - then we cancelled the rest since the buffer was "to die for" [... read more]! Friday night is the "Gala Buffet " & Saturday night is "Seafood "- every meal at the buffet was absolutely delicious! We used the buffet for breakfast...lunch...and dinner and all the time it was simply GREAT! The beach is big enoug and clean. Drinks are ALL premiums. Transportation between Sian Ka'An and the beach - and to the other three sister resorts- are flawless. This is the ONLY resort where we went back in 11 years. If the price is right-we will return with no hesitation.... Make sure you check the infinity pool at Akumal. Beautiful! Overall- outstanding experience and will be back again.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Not for us 👎

The grounds are very nature like, but unfortunately there is no air flow which made it extremely hot and at night the mosquitoes where insane! Lots of sea urchins in the ocean so no swimming there! My brother got one in his thumb and another relative got one in each foot and his hand as well! The pools were very cloudy. The resort is very dated. There was apparently some bed bugs luckily far from our rooms. It was very cool to see the monkeys and cotes etc. Some people loved it just wasn't what  [... read more]we like. The sister resort was amazing though.......wish we had learned of it sooner.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A fabulous getaway

This hotel was absolutely stunning. I enjoyed every moment of my vacation. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely warm, inviting and friendly. I particularly appreciated the efforts of the 'animation' or entertainment team; they definitely made this a memorable trip. I would highly recommend participating in some of the activities they organize - salsa dancing outside the lobby was a highlight! The food was always on point! The resort is fairly large, so there are trolleys to transport you around (I really enjoyed these). There are many different areas to explore between the beaches and the pools.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Getaway

Hotel rooms are very nice and spacious. Hotel grounds are well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Very nice resort! Hotel is not right on the beach but there frequent shuttles to the beach and multiple nice pools. Snack bar open 24/7. Wifi was hard to connect and very spotty. Italian a la carte was disappointing.

Ocean Maya Royale: Great time at Ocean Maya Royale

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week at then end of June, 2017. We really enjoyed our stay, the room was kept very clean , the food was very good, and the staff that we encountered were friendly and accomodating. We really liked the smaller size of this resort, everything was within walking distance. I can only comment on 3 of the restaurants as we enjoyed them so didn't feel a need to try the Blue Moon or La Dolce Vita restaurant. El Charro (Mexican) was very good, a smaller menu but we [... read more] actually ate there 3 times. The Japanese restaurant was good but it's really more about the show there than it is the food. We really enjoyed the buffet (La Hacienda ), lots of variety and a different theme each night. The Brazilian night was very good , as was the Mexican . We loved Mike's Coffee shop, wonderful latte's and snacks . Wish it opened earlier but there are cappuccinos etc. Available all the time in the lobby bar . Entertainment that we saw was enjoyable but we only saw one evening show and the entertainment at the pool during to day. The entertaiment staff try very hard to engage guest and keep them busy with pool activities, painting t-shirts, dance lessons, Spanish lessons, sushi making etc. My husband participated in the paella making and had a really good time . All in all we really enjoyed our week at this resort and would definetly go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: relaxing vacation

Great place to spend your vacation. We liked the service of the hotel staff a lot. They paid attention to the little details. There was triple occupancy in our room[ two adults and a child ] and our son was using the sofa bed in our room. The sofa bed was totally made for him every day, with fresh sheets, pillows etc and they even left him a pair of child slippers and a gown. There was free wifi in the lobby and the room. The buffet restaurant was well stocked . Everything was just right. The  [... read more]only suggestion that we had was that in the buffet restaurant the vegetarian section should be separate. This will save the vegetarian people from going all around the area and looking for the vegetarian food, which is not marked properly a lot of times. Also people tend to mix serving spoons a lot of times and meat ends up in the vege food. They should use separate cooking stations for the vegetarian food and not use same utensils, fryers, oils, etc for the vege food as they are for the meat.

The bed rooms are clean and tidy. The location is perfect. The food is yummy. Ilke the duck in the Asian night. I wish I can have that dish again. I liked the seafood in the seafood restaurant. The lobster and the fish are very delicious. I also like the Japanese restaurant. They are very yummy. I will definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Very nice resort

The resort was beautiful, beach and ocean wonderful, Japanese restaurant was the best......breakfasts were wonderful, every thing at the buffet was very good, Drinks were good, the weather was great what more could you ask for,,,,We loved it but do refer a smaller resort as in walking around from areas, but had a great time at the wedding it was a wonderful set up on the beach and beautifully decorated room for the wedding, food was great,,,over all would highly recommend it...Karen Brisbois
