Resonance Blu Varadero: Good Resort!

Huge resort, meaning lots of walking to get from place to place. Rooms were very clean although it's not the most comfortable bed. Food is pretty good. Lots of different bars all over the resort. It's nice having the quiet pool and the activity pool so there's a spot for everyone. Variety of younger people and older people. Lots of activities going on daily and staff were very friendly and inviting. Overall nice resort!

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Beautiful!

Spent a week at Naviti and had a great time and met other travellers from across Canada. Beautiful resort, loved the grounds and the beach was more secluded from the other resorts on Varadero beach. We would go back for sure, wonderful people work at this resort!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Beautiful resort

enjoyed the smiles of service people , cleanliness of public areas , beautiful beach & ocean , lots of dance lessons , children's interests . Rooms were comfortable , Tours from resort were great. Melia Peninsula Varadero: Ok resort....I would not consider it a 4.5 star.

Large resort with nice vegetation. The rooms were large but were dated. The shower leaked every time we used it. Room location was great.....close to pool and beach. We were traveling with my elderly mother and it was too much walking for her. They did have golf carts but not enough. When we called we would wait at least a half hour for one to come or not come at all. The food was good for Cuba. The staff were amazing and friendly. They do their best with the resources that they have. Th [... read more]e staff at the front desk were not as friendly. Entertainment was excellent. I would like to comment on the airport in Cuba on our return flight. There were so many flights booked that they could not handle the amount of people trying to check in and get through security. Their infrastructure is in dire need of improvement. We waited three hours just to check in and get through security which delayed our plane 1 hour.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice well laid out resort

The Melia Pennisula is a well laid out resort. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. The transat representative informed us of many things to do at Veradero. She reserved us a spot at a private house for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. There was a gentleman by the name Yoyo and he often worked at the pool snack bar. What a pleasure he was. Reason is the the grounds were very dark at night. The walkways were not lit up at all. People were using their cell phones in order to see where they were walking. One of the guests was crossing a small bridge from the cafe and he fell through the bridge. He was able to catch himself but is was very disappointing that not one staff member came to his aid. We arrived at our hotel in the evening and it was very dark. An older gentleman tripped over his suitcase and skinned both of his knees very badly and knocked out 3 of his teeth. Again no one seemed to be very concerned.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Average resort

Public areas good, pools good, access to beach good, staff very good. WiFi very poor. Food was average but many cooked items were cold or barely warm. Soap was not replaced when finished, towels could be changed more often.

Hotel Bella Costa: Paradise Resort :)

As this was my first vacation ever.. I really didn't know what to expect nor do I have an experience to compare it to, but my greeting when I arrived was very friendly :) My room was clean and had everything I needed and overlooked the pool area with view of the ocean.. although I did expect "ocean view" to be a little better view of the ocean. She also left a nice thank you note each day and a cutely folded towel :) I wasn't sure what to expect for food and I am usually a fussy eater, but I always found something I liked and def didn't starve while I was there lol I found the employees where quite friendly, maybe little hard to understand at times as we speak different languages so it is to be expected. Maybe once or twice we had someone not so friendly when we were trying to find something out.. but everyone has those days! I literally saw only one dead cockroach while I was there.. which was impressive that I did not see any other bugs or rodents the whole time ..cause when I talked to ppl from the other resorts they said there were geckos and lizards everywhere.. I seen none! The walk to the beach was nice and the place was well maintained as ppl were constantly cleaning, sweeping sand, cutting dead branches..picking garbage. The only issue I had was with my wifi.. as my friends always worked... mine wouldn't .. which I guess I was just meant to have a real vacation and be unplugged from Canada :) So over all being my first experience at traveling I was very pleased with my stay at the Bella Costa ... and would recommend it if asked :)

Melia Las Antillas: Disappointing

This was our first trip to Cuba and it will be our last. The staff we're undertrained and under staffed. The resort is in desperate need of repairs and updates. The best thing about it was the beach. Drinks and food were bad both my husband and I got sick from the food. His lasted a day and mine is still ongoing a week later after getting sick. Will never stay at a Amelia resort again.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Barceil Arenas Blancas, Varedero, Cuba

The resort was clean and comfortable but a bit dated. The food and drinks were great. Pools were nice and the beach was beautiful ( and a 2 minute walk from the hotel) Staff were very friendly. Good value for money.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Good all around

The hotel needs a little cosmetic update and the food was good. The service was excellent and the beach was fantastic. The room we stayed in needed some work however it didn't stop us from enjoying it

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Amazing trip!!

This was my first trip outside of Canada! I had an amazing time. Glad I booked with Brenda at tripcentral. Staying in Cuba was such an amazing experience and I would do it again and again. The staff and tourists were so friendly the drinks were good. Even the food was good. Beach was amazing and same with the room. Thanks again!!!!

Sol Varadero Beach: Average

The hotel was below average and scketchy . The service there was very dissapointing , money was all that they seemed to care about, even when you would tip they would ignore you and we're very unpleasant . As for the food it wasn't the best as we excepted being in Cuba.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Cuba Si!

Overall, good. Food in buffet was not so good, so primarily ate in the restaurants. Some meals excellent; all were OK. Drinks fabulous. Mostly, service was good, servers friendly, except for some reason in the hotel lobby, where service was poor - the one place it should have been outstanding. Room great, clean; beach awesome; pool area good also. Cuba itself has a fascinating history, people are friendly, and it felt very safe. I would return here.

Hotel Los Cactus: Awesome Experience!!

Beautiful people, Beautiful place. Service was amazing, breath-taking beach. Pool area very well maintained. LOVED THIS RESORT! So close to the beach! A trip to town is a must! We will be revisiting next winter!

Hotel Bella Costa: Tired but Livable

The resort has been around for a few years & needs some upkeep. If you are just going for a week it's manageable. The A/C dripped on the floor, some lights didn't work & the beds were poor. The hotel seemed to be understaffed and, to quote another guest, "the hardest all-inclusive to get drunk at in Cuba", referring to the very slow bar service. The al-la-carte meals didn't really resemble the nationalities they were supposed to represent, in particular the Japanese food. The layout of the food  [... read more]in both buffet style restaurants was not conducive to people getting food quickly - line-ups blocking dishes, dishes behind doors only accessible by one person at a time, etc. At the end you get what you pay for and the quality was mostly inline with what was paid. A few simple changes at the hotel and it would easily be much better.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort

This resort is amazing. The service was fantastic! Staff is amazing. Rooms were very clean. The entire resort was fabulous. Would definitely stay there again! One of the nicest resorts on the Varadero Strip.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great place for a vacation!

This is a fairly new resort that just started offering an all inclusive option. We stayed in a room on 'the level" (which is the upgraded room). If you can, pay for the level upgrade, It was worth it. The rooms were great and the beds quite comfortable. There was no door or curtain on the shower which was a little odd. The pool was great, however, there is no deep end. The food was very good considering it is a Cuban resort. I was not impressed with the Asian a la cart , but the F [... read more]rench restaurant was good. We ended up eating a lot at the level restaurant. The food was really good and the service staff were all excellent. We went to the buffet once as the lines at dinner were very long and the food was okay. The one downside for this resort was the beach. The beach itself is very beautiful, however, you had to walk about 5 minutes from the resort to get there (they do have shuttles). Unfortunately the section of the beach for this resort was too small for the number of people there. It was always crowded and finding chairs was always an issue. They did not have anyone there to help you find a place to sit. There is a small market attached to the resort with makes it easier to buy things if needed.

Paradisus Varadero: Best beach in Varadero

This hotel has by far the best beach and grounds in Varadero, our rooms were newly refurbished from last year when we had said that the hotel looked very tired, now painted inside and out with new European type fixtures and showers , Glass from floor to ceiling ,all new porcelain tile, toilets etc. The resort looked almost brand new, Problem is that they were not able to fix the hot water problem, they tried but failed, we had to shower in warm water, They also need to address the cleaning of th [... read more]e grout at the bottom of the new tiles,already turning black within a year, it looks like the staff do not have the proper cleaning supplies to address this, The toilets are beautiful, but do not function well, constantly running water 24/7 and do not flush well! We saw this in 3 different rooms. Hotel staff by and large are great, especially the cleaning staff. The buffet is good, not quite up the standard of last year though, food pretty tasty for cuba, the resturants were good and fun to visit, The new Family area opened up and looks great, we also dined in their new buffet and although smaller, the food was probably slightly better!! A couple of comments on the beach, they set up a Royal and family lounge area on the right side of the beach and defined this by putting up wood structures under which the lounge chairs sit, for use only by Royal and Family, bad move rarely used, and looks not great.

Playa Caleta: Great Beach

The view from our on 7th floor was absolutely amazing, which made up for the most shortcomings. There were no beach towels for three days. Bring your own! No coffee or tea for the first four days either (you can buy red bull at the gift shop). No shade near pool. Not enough beach loungers. Bars were always running out of wine. Food was mediocre but fine. But - the location is great and the beach is excellent. Memories Jibacoa: Very nice resort ...amazing

The grounds and hotel were very clean. Staff was very friendlyand went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. The international restaurants were very good. ..............................
