Sandals Grande Antigua: Wonderful Holiday.

Room was great, got an upgrade to a one bedroom suite midweek at no cost. Food was good, servers in some restaurants could use some more training. The grounds are very clean and well kept. Would return

Jolly Beach Antigua: amazing beach

The location to the beach is amazing. Beach is gorgeous. Resort itself is a little tired. Needs to have updates. However everything was really clean. Loved the coconut grill had great options for lunch as right on beach no need to change to have lunch.

The Verandah Antigua: Relaxing Atmosphere

This is a fantastic resort. The accommodations are roomy with nice sized balconies for coffee in the morning or wine in the evening (small upgrade for ocean view room is worth it). Water sports are great and everything from kayaking, SUP, sailing. The beach is smallish and there is some a fair bit of seaweed as you enter. Initially, this was the biggest negative for me but, after a day or so, it was really no big deal. This did get my only non-perfect score though. The snorkeling was what we rea [... read more]lly wanted to do and it was average. There is a small reef a ways out and lots of fish with decent visibility. A two minute walk from the main reception gets you to Long Bay and this is a beautiful beach with lots of reefs close to shore and pretty good snorkeling. Service was great, on Caribbean time so relax and enjoy. Staff is so polite and smiles are the norm. The only other negative is that for dinner, only one restaurant is outside. The food was good at the buffet and also the al la carte restaurants. We tended to favour the Beach Bar Restaurant which had great food and was outside. Devil's Bridge is a short walk from the beach and definitely worth the short walk. This is a bridge carved out of rock by the strong waves that crash here. Do this in the morning when the tours aren't there and it is not as hot for the hike. The resort won't be for everyone as it is spread out and a bit of walking to get around (although they have constant golf cart shuttles going around that you can call or flag down) We sure didn't mind the walking. Also the night life is minimal as it shuts down at 11PM. Each night did have some pretty good entertainment and it was worthwhile finishing up after your meal with a drink or two and enjoy some local culture. Overall, we really enjoyed this resort. Like anywhere, if you get what is most important to you and overlook a few small negatives, you too will have a pretty fantastic vacation.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Nice beach, Shame about the resort

The good first. Great beach, nice staff, good food. The staff were nice, but I found I had to engage most of them, they weren't necessarily friendly to me until I started a conversation. The negatives: the resort is old and run down. The workers were nice but service was slow. For example one night I waited forever to get water while I watched four employees sitting eating at a nearby table, each with large bottles of water. That kind of thing got frustrating. Internet didn't work unless I went  [... read more]to the lobby. TV was limited to a couple English channels. Apparently they stopped lending out water equipment to guests, but it was advertised as part of the package. The water in our room was discolored which isn't the end of the world, but we barely had enough water pressure to keep the shower on- no matter what time of day or night. We found a large cockroach in our room, but at least there was only one...

Jolly Beach Antigua: Beautiful Beach but Tired Resort

I thought the beach was beautiful for Antigua. Beds and pillows were hard, breakfast was the same every day, pool chairs and huts were dated, breakfast the same every day, food selection limited or bad

Galley Bay Resort and Spa: third time visit

Still a great resort, location, service. Disapointment in room (#22) floor state. Tiles broken, loose, worn out, and dirty in hard to reach spaces: corners, along the walls, and around bathroom appliances. Houskeeping time inadequate for tropical environment. 13:00 to 15:00 hrs is not room cleaning time, it's time to reste or nap... Travelling from Montreal via Toronto adds almost 5 hrs to each direction and will be a dealbraker naxt time.

St James Club and Villas: Great setting and beaches - room disappointing

The beaches, food, and drinks were great at St James. Snorkelling was lovely through the water sports folks right from Marmora Bay. Loved the fact that there were always lounge chairs available at the beach and pool no matter what time you went. Water sports included in the all inclusive were the best I've ever experienced in a holiday package. Used the kayaks, staff were always helpful with instructions for guests, particularly when sailing the hobie cats. Had several maintenance issues with bathroom plumbing, sliding door to balcony was so stiff to open it took two of us to open it. We stayed in the Bougainvillea rooms closest to reception and the guests in this section all had the same comments - rooms definitely needed renovation and an update. Housekeeping also were slow to make up rooms and often bathroom supplies were not replenished. Calls for towels or missing Kleenex were not acted upon so we had to go looking ourselves in the housekeeping supply room at the end of the hall. Despite these inconveniences, we had a fabulous time and the other positives made up for it.

St James Club and Villas: Nice Resort

We stayed Dec 2014 for 7 days in St.James. Very nice facility and room is much better for a 4 star resort compare with other similar class resort in Caribbean island we'd been stayed. There are two beaches at the resort. one facing Atlantic which was windy with big waves. The other one faces Mamora Bay and water is calm. The resort offer a lot of water sports at this side of beach. Food is Ok for a All-Inclusive resort. Service need improve. Overall we had a great vacation

St James Club and Villas: Great Resort, Very pretty setting

Had a wonderful week at the St. James Club in November. Found it to be a very charming resort in a beautiful setting between the two beaches & with lovely vegitation etc. The staff were excellent, very friendly & attentive right from the front desk, to porters, wait staff, water sports crew etc. Food was good but limited wine selections. Particularly enjoyed the food and ambiance at Picolo Mondo, It is well worth paying the upcharge to dine there. Docksiders buffet left something to be desired,  [... read more]but it is a nice setting on the water, with a nice little gathering bar. We stayed in the Royal Suites & our accommodation was fabulous. Quite spacious, clean & everything you could possibly need in the rooms. Also perfectly located between beach, pools, lobby etc. All in all a great vacation, would definitely return & definitely recommend.

Pineapple Beach Club: Fantastic time!

Very relaxing get away. Beautiful resort. Beach fantastic. Food very good. Friendly staff. Too bad they are knocking it down next year in order to go more posh. It is beautiful the way it is. Highly recommended!

Sandals Grande Antigua: Amazing honeymoon!

My husband and I stay at the Sandals Grande Antigua for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived it felt like a second home. The resort was breathtaking and so clean. We stayed on the carribbean side and our room was a pool front and garden view. It was beautiful! The room was large and very clean. The pools were amazing and we swam in 3 of them. But we spent must of our time swimming in the ocean, which was breathtaking! We ate at all of the restaurants but our favourite was the barefoot restu [... read more]rant. All of the food was amazing and there was lots of options. The staff were so kind and were always smiling and saying hello. Everyone was so friendly and polite. But there was one staff who went above and beyond with his hospitality. His name is Shannon and he works at the barefoot resturant. He is truly the kindest and must generous person we have ever met. He made our stay there memorable and special. He is an outstanding employee! Thank you Shannon. We highly recommend Sandals Antigua. Thank you to all the staff and to Antigua for welcoming us.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Amazingly friendly staff

People were exceptionally friendly everywhere, rooms were very clean & views were awesome. The water was beautiful, with no rocks, and lots of seashells along the shore. We would love to go back again.

The Verandah Antigua: Nice and quiet

The room was large and well equipped. You can hear the person on the other side of the wall though. The views were great. The mini golf was excellent. The food wa good and changed nightly. Tight band.

Pineapple Beach Club: The best people and service in Antigua

The resort itself is still a little low on the scale for looks, but the people make up for it 10 times over. Great food, and people that care about you. The beach is one of the best on the island, and kept clean daily. Security for all that is seen but never harassing.

The Verandah Antigua: Not one complaint

The staff were excellent. The taxi service was instant and the drivers friendly and knowledgable the room was clean as was the whole resort. The food choices were many and all very good. No complaints

Sandals Grande Antigua: Sandal's Resort Grande Antigua

November 16, 2014 Returned. My wife and I just got back from this beautiful resort! The resort reflected in reality exactly as the pictures depicted it! I can't say enough about the resort staff: EVERYONE..and I mean EVERYONE..couldn't do enough for you! The staff are the best of the best!! The food also was barr-none! The care they took in cleaning your room..turning down your bed every night and checking on your personal fridge in your room was so on cue...and welcomed! Nightly entertainment w [... read more]as great and sometimes occurring at different areas of the resort for the different tastes..awesome. We would definitely return to this resort. A special thanks to Julianna in Guest services for assisting us when we received a troubling phone call from home...she made the news easier to deal with. Thanks Julianna!!

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great time at a great place!

We (6 adults) just got back for a great vacation at the Halcyon Cove Resort (Nov 8-15th). Yes, the place is abit dated and in need of some TLC. But what lacks in "Wow Factor" is made up by the incredible staff at the resort. They are amazing! Always doing everything they can to make sure you have everything you need. A big Thank You to Fenton, Heather, Roxanne and everyone else who made our stay one of the best ever!!! Food was great (nice variety), weather was perfect. we had ground floor rooms [... read more] (ours was 343). Very basic rooms (but you are only sleeping in them), the were clean and the beds were comfortable. Location of rooms was great, as we were central to pool and ocean (and the bar!). If you are looking for late night partying, this is not the place to go, everything shuts up around 11:30pm. All in all, a great resort, we can't wait to go back!

The Verandah Antigua: awsome resort

I liked the verandah resort because of it's great beaches, delicious and varied foods, the oh so friendly staff. Also this is a small and intimate place with only 300 guests so there was no crowding on the beaches or in the pools and restaurants. I also liked that the water sports, kayaks, paddle boats, catamarans, windsurfing was all free to use as well as free lessons if needed. Of course the weather was suburb at 85 degrees every day and the drinks were always available and well made.

St James Club and Villas: Great REsort

We really enjoyed our experience at the SJC. The people were the nicest we've ever met on any holiday. The resort and beaches were clean. Food was very good. Would be nice to have a few more restaurants. The water sports employees were excellent.. The only negative thing was how long it took at the airport, due to the size of the airport. We were two hours from the time we left the plane to the time we got into a taxi. The line up was extremely slow.
