Melia Nassau Beach Resort: the ocean is grat

no activities in the resort and that is a shame.... when the weather is bad ,windy,etc where you cant swim , there is no entertainment.....one yoga class in 3 days.. The beach is nice staff is friendly and the food is good

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Good resort if work done to premises

The location of the building is excellent, however to rooms are in a deplorable state, there was mold on the ceiling, could not get the room warmed up as the A/C was stuck on. Staff was excellent as well as the service , drinks and food. Especially Ceril aka Cereal and his crew.

We just got back on December 4 after staying for 4 nights. The hotel, food, service and rooms were all amazing! A definite must go for anyone. One of the best vacations I've taken in a while. Riu Hotels never disappoint :)

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: GREAT RESORT

OVER ALL IT WAS A NICE AND CLEAN RESORT! UNFORTUNATLY FOR US LOTS OF RENOVATIONS AND CONSTRUCTION AND 2 RESTAURANT WERE CLOSED AND NOISY ALL AROUND EXCEPT IN OUR ROOM. BUT OVER ALL WE LIKE HOW NICE THE PEOPLE ARE. ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP YOU.

Breezes Bahamas: Easy and Breezy!

The hotel is well maintained and the drinks are flowing! The staff really make the trip worth it though; They are so friendly and fun! Updated bathrooms and every room has a decent-to-great view. Food was out of this world, for an all-inclusive. Been to lots of places where you only get great food at the a-la-carte restaurants, but even the buffet here had super good food! Gorgeous beach!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Beautiful Peaceful Resort

The only thing that we found very was the walk to the elevators every day sometimes multiple times per day depending on your room location especially for that of the senior crowd. I must admit that the renovations did encroach on our holiday stay. The food could have been more localized, we found it to be very basic American but there was no shortage. When we first checked in at the Melia, the service was poor - when I first booked the trip months in advance, I had requested rooms side by side f [... read more]or my daughter and myself. I had then subsequently made two calls to the hotel itself to ensure that this was possible - the first time they told me that they did not have my booking as it was to early, the second time there was no answer and although I left a message - no one returned my call. In the end upon our arrival, they said that the only available rooms on the same floor was on the first. When we went down it felt like a basement and not like a hotel room. We went back up and asked for different rooms on the same floor again and they could not accommodate us. In the end my daughter ended up on the 4th floor and I on the 6th. I am sure you could imagine the problem this posed for us. It bothered me that this was not a last minute request - I had asked for this accommodation upon booking and tried a number of times to make this possible. The restaurant and eating areas - the staff there were absolutely amazing people, they catered to our every need, and provided that extra personal touch. This in many ways out weighed the other inconveniences within the hotel. In the end all we remembered was the impact these particular individuals made on our stay. Security - The Melia made us feel very safe, every where you looked was someone working there looking out for you. This was very important to me as I was on vacation with my friend and my daughter and her two friends. I felt safe enough to leave them hanging out at night. Rooms - very clean, staff - very polite, no wi fi I found that the Melia in the Bahamas catered to an older crowd, there was not much to do for young people, and they found themselves just hanging around during the evening on their cell phones or computers 9not my idea of a vacation). For our first time in the Bahamas, as everyone would do, we found it best to stay on the resort during the evening. Casino - was empty We did visit the Atlantis and I must say in all honesty that the Melia has some very serious competition. Their casino was packed, there was a teen night club, the aquarium....etc. It was a disappointment that we had to leave our resort to see another. Are all the Melia hotels the same?. I am not sure if I would take another chance in finding out. The three star rating is in relation to the security, waiting staff and how clean the hotel was kept.

Breezes Bahamas: Wonderful Holiday

The Breezes Bahamas was a great resort. The beach and pool areas were kept very clean. The food was very good and plenty of variety. The rooms were not anything special but clean and comfortable. We were there for a wedding and even though the weather didn't cooperate the staff went out of their way to make sure everything went off perfectly.

Breezes Bahamas: Resort is okay

Stayed for 7 days and we really enjoyed our stay. My wife is restricted to a wheel chair and we had easy access around the facility and to our room 161 which was on the main floor with easy access to the main grounds. There was a problem with moisture in the room which came from the pool area and unfortunately made it physically difficult for my wife. The washroom was very spacious to move her wheel chair around and had direct access to the shower area - excellent. It still requires additional s [... read more]afety bars around the toilet area which would allow a easier means of up/down from her wheel chair. The counter area was too high and made it very difficult to wash/brush her teeth. Unfortunately, there was no access to the water at the beach for those in a wheel chair. I would recommend a stone walkway. My wife missed the opportunity to place her feet in the water. The meals in the main kitchen area provided an excellent variety of meals. The friendly atmosphere of the staff was always consistent and a real pleasure to see after coming from a large city. The grounds around the resort were always clean. Although the establishment is old, it has a lot of character.

The Royal at Atlantis: Awesome trip to Atlantis

Atlantis on Paradise Island was all that we thought it would be and more. Nice rooms at the Beach Tower and carefully maintained grounds and pools. The beach is also fantastic . Food and drink are high quality but on the pricey side as it is in any tourist destination. The staff goes above expectations as well and even upgraded us to an ocean view room at no charge. The only downside was that on the day of our departure there was no water in the resort and that made bathroom and showering effort [... read more]s difficult. That would not deter me from visiting again though!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Resort!

This was my second time at the Riu Paradise Island and I will definitely be going back. It is a small resort with all the amenities needed and is easy walking distance to shopping & Atlantis. The RIU is very clean with good food and nice & helpful staff. We did the Grill a la carte which was fantastic and the Japanese which was also very good. The buffet was plentiful with a good variety. Our room was comfy, clean and had a lovely with a great view. Cant wait to go back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Beautiful place to visit

This is an outdated hotel but it is still a beautiful place to visit. The beaches were clean and charming but unfortunately for us when we went it was very windy which meant that the red flags were up so we were not able to go into the water. The food was good and the view in our room on the 15th floor was a perfect combination of the pool below and the ocean on the right. I would definitely go back with the hopes of a bit better weather.

I traveled to the Riu in the first week on November 2014. I really enjoyed my stay the workers are extremely nice and polite! The nightly entertainment could be improved-not the best for a riu resort. Food was amazing and everything was clean!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Stay

The staff are extremely friendly and prompt to answer requests and help whenever asked. The food is good, especially at the a la carte restaurants. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. The beach and water is beautiful and a short walk to quieter beach areas.

Breezes Bahamas: bwst vacation ever

On this trip I had such a great time, the pool side games, beach and pool volleyball Climbing wall was excellent...poolside grill and bar wad a treat,as well as the latenite entertainment...The staff from the custodians to the GM was awsome...we loved the friendlyness, of the staff, and the cleaniness of the resort. We had late night walks on the beach and felt safe with the 24 hr security that they had.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed Bride

My husband and I chose Sandals Royal Bahamian as our resort of choice when we decided to get married on the beach. It was our understanding that Sandals resorts are 5 Star with amazing service and luxurious hotels; and for the amount that you pay to stay here our expectations were high. Upon arrival to Sandals Royal Bahamian we were extremely disappointed. The information that is advertised on their websites and marketing material s is very different from what you actually experience. We upgrade [... read more]d and paid extra in order to have the room we selected which was an ocean front view with a private balcony and a fully stocked bar in the room. We were also told that millions of dollars recently went into renovating this part of the resort and they boasted that there was mahogany furniture with marble counter tops etc. What we received was a room you could get at any basic Holiday Inn, we were put in a corner room and did not receive the private balcony we had paid extra for. And to top it all off we looked in the bathroom there was black mold going down the wall. At that point we spoke with management who assured us she would move us to a private balcony room and that we needed to pack our bags and have them ready for 11:00 AM the next morning and to meet her at 1:30 PM to pick up our new room keys. So, the next day we cut our day short to do so. At 1:30 we arrived at the front desk and the manager had done nothing, there was no room move for us at all, even after we spoke with management again we learned she had done absolutely nothing to resolve our concerns. Obviously extremely annoyed that we were lied to and that we wasted our time, we spoke to another manager. We were promised once again that we would be moved to the room we had originally requested. So we went through the whole process over again. We didn’t end up in our new room until 3:00 PM. We get in and they had just moved us to the corner on the other side of the building, with no private balcony and now we had a view of the air conditioning units on the condos next door. At this point I would have rather had the first room; at least I could see the resort, not dirty rooftops! So I rushed downstairs to move back to the old room and they had already given it away. Sick of spending more time speaking to management than enjoying my vacation, we just sucked it up. However, this new room was not cleaned properly or restocked from the last visitors, including the bar which was not replenished (or mini bar for that matter) which we had paid extra for. I requested it via phone call, visit to the front desk and by leaving notes in the room, and it never happened. If we ever needed anything the employees would tell us they would do it and then it would never happen. I also asked that our dinner reservations be switched to our new room number and was told this was done, however every restaurant we went to our reservations were not on the list. I was even yelled at by one hostess who was annoyed that I tried to get into a restaurant without reservations….although I actually did, and had the confirmation paper. It was very disappointing for us that we were completely forgotten about and stuck sub-par rooms in the corners. When we would mention that we had come here to get married, they did not care since there were so many other people there getting married or on their honeymoon. Therefore they were not interested in treating you with any special care whatsoever. The wedding: - We had a wedding planner that we dealt with over the phone who was different from the planner we met on site. The planner on the phone told me that I would have someone there that would help me with anything I needed with my wedding for the whole day. I said we were getting married just the two of us so I would need help tying up my dress and she said I would have someone there to do that for me. She also told me that we would receive a dinner at a specialty restaurant (Gordons on the Pier) the night of our wedding. - When speaking with the onsite planner (who was very nice and just doing her job) had to tell me that if I wanted my dress tied up I had to pay an additional $75.00. And that they do not offer dinners at Gordons unless you pay an additional $140. We were also disappointed to find out that if we wanted our wedding on the dock beside the beach we would have to pay an additional $350. - The nickel and diming was getting ridiculous. At this point I was so disappointed and frustrated with everything that I was in tears…..this is not how you should feel on your wedding at all! Around every corner there was another thing that disappointed me. Sometimes just small things like going to billiard room to find there are only three pool cues, 2 of which were broken, and holes in the walls around the resort that were patched up with paint that doesn’t match the walls. There were times where I was the only person waiting at the bar and it would take 15 minutes to get a drink because the staff was too busy having a good time together. There was actually a moment where a guest got behind the bar and started serving because there wasn’t a staff member in site for well over an hour at the swim up bar! There were also events that were planned that we could take part in and I would show up for them and the playmakers would be nowhere in sight, so I gave up on those. I just feel that Sandals makes a lot of promises and didn’t follow through with any of them. Bahamas was beautiful and we will go back, but I won’t be spending $7,000 at the Royal Bahamian again. I don’t know if this is how all Sandals resorts operate, but as of right now I have a bad taste in my mouth. My family is planning an anniversary trip for my parents and it was going to be at a Sandals Resort and I have since told them to hold off and do some more research first.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Excellent Value

Room was generous, very comfortable beds, superb personable service from EVERYONE whether in the resort, food areas or on the beach, beautiful beach and the food was great quality with an extensive selection to suit every taste. There was a very minor annoyance with the renovation inside the hotel which affected the time and route one had to take to get to places but that will disappear once the reno is complete of course.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed

Hotel is beautiful but the housekeeping is terrible. Had to ask every day for towels and toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner must be expensive on that island because it is hard to get the staff to provide these basic items. They make your bed and for some unknown reason do not replace towels and as I said toiletries. On some days - even after asking the items never came. Food was the best at Baccarat restaurant but to get a reservation was next to impossible. The good was good at the other place [... read more]s but not what we expected. The pool had 10 floating mats and it was a joke how guests had to hoard it once you got one. It was like winning the lottery if you actually got one. The upkeep of removing dirty glasses and plates was not consistent. Very expensive but not so sure I would drop that kind of money again to go back.

Breezes Bahamas: Solid 3 Star

When I do the "all in" trips I look for a beautiful beach and good food which the Breezes had (food was good not great). The decor is date which I don't really care too much about. Rooms were fine by me however my better half complained of bed bugs and no mini fridge or water provided. The service was amazing, really great down to earth workers that did a great job (especially Michelle at pool bar) Overall 6.5 out of 10

Riu Palace Paradise Island: The beach vacation we were looking for!

We upgraded our room at a cost when we got there because although the room was great, the view was basically of the rooftop below, blah! So we got an ocean view room that, as a room was a bit of a step down but was still pretty good. It has everything you need! The food is fantastic and the staff is pretty good. One thing to prepare yourself for here is the local people on the beach and the taxi drivers out in front of the hotel CONSTANTLY looking for customers. Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in the ocean view suite and the views were spectacular! Our room was beautiful and spacious! The only complaint I have is that there were issues with the hot water tank; however we figured out that if we showered at night we always had hot water, morning so much. The food was fantastic!
