Sonesta Maho Beach: average resort beautiful island to visit

Hotel needs renovations desperately, food was good location great. Staff were friendly and front desk staff were very good with check in and out and getting us into a more quiet room for our second week. Sunwing lost my Wife's luggage took over two weeks for someone to start tracking its location ( after we got home and contacted them) no help from hotel Sunwing manager and even less help from head office in Montreal which was very disappointing.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great Resort

The sunscape hotel is an older hotel but it is well maintained and they have a lot of renovated areas that are nice. Our room in the 'royal tower' was beautiful. Very clean and most importantly the bed was very comfy! Always able to get chairs in sun or shade on the beach or by the many pools. Food was very good and liked that it was unlimited al la carte to any of the restuarants. Staff was very friendly and polite. Always lots to do as in activities but also able to relax in quiet areas. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great resort

The grounds were clean. The rooms were adequately clean. Received 7 bars of soap over the week but lacked in towels, toilet paper. The food was good, somewhat repetitious. Did not like the a la cartes. Too slow, too salty but service was good. For the price, I would go back

Everything was clean and kept up! Close to Mambo beach shopping and Sea Aquarium. Easy to get around town with local bus - $1.50 per person. Rooms were nice. In room safe was free and secure. No one expected a tip, but you were glad to give one for service. I would recommend this resort!! No reservations for a la carte, no wrist bands, no towels cards!

Sonesta Maho Beach: Great resort

This is a great mid-sized resort. It has everything you need to have a great vacation with out the thousand or more guests like at larger resorts. Grounds are very nice. Beach is good and there are always chairs available. food was excellent. Do not forget to tryout the food at the sports bar. Also visited the sister resort in the capital city and had a fun day there as well. Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help you with any problem. Over all a very nice resort and a relaxing visit.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Great Resort!

Rooms were clean and updated, food was great, pool and grounds were very well maintained. Activities are listed but they don't really have an entertainment staff rounding people up to partake in anything. It was a very low-key, relaxing stay. If you are looking for activities to do, this is not really the place for you. Resort is far from the city centre, but easy to get a free shuttle to a grocery store, also fine to be picked up for tours/excursions.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Very Good Resort

This resort seems to be pretty popular and the reason being is the service. the cleaniness, the employees, the food, the location. The only problem was that they should have a smoking area and have more entertainment in the evening.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Resort grows on you!

Just got back last night from a 7 night stay at this resort and thought what great little resort! Food was good, beach was great, drinks plentiful, staff friendly, loved the town of Willemstad. The only slight complaint is the hotel is in need of some tlc. The rooms in the Royal Tower have been updated somewhat compared to the other blocks in the resort. All in all, great little resort for the price.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Outstanding again!

Our 15th visit to Sonesta and once again we were not disappointed. Many changes to the hotel over the years but the most noticeable one is the number of children. Mullet beach is a short walking distance from the hotel and beautiful. Our evenings are spent in Maho which has numerous bars and a casino. Very accommodating when you want to have a few drinks and not drive. In 15 years we have NEVER seen a full day of rain. The weather, beaches and the people are what brings us back year after year.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Never tired of airport!

The hotel is older but extremely clean. We loved the location and never tired of the planes coming in. Nightly entertainment could use improving. We only met 3-4 staff that appeared happy to be there. The rest appeared miserable and were not so pleasant with guests. The food was amazing, no complaints! Nice to be able to eat anywhere anytime. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Relaxing Resort

We loved the food, the atmosphere, the beautiful sunsets and the great beach. it's very safe island, Sunscape is great for couples, families and singles. I really can't say enough about the food! Also the entertainment was wonderful especially the evening of the parade.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: FANTASTIC BEACH

This is an older hotel and the rooms are tired although the beds were comfortable and water was hot. The buffet was average and the specialty restaurants were good to very good. Great coffee bar. The overall service was average. The beach however was fantastic with snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and sun worshipping. Clean/safe beach. Beautiful sunsets.

Esmeralda Resort: Nice Resort

Resort was very quiet with a short walk to the village and the beach bars. Happy hour from 6-7pm at Bikini's...2 for 1 beer/wine. Little grocery store at the village where we bought beer, wine and snacks. Astrolabe restaurant on the resort is known as one of the better, but I was a little disappointed with the lobster dinner, and the French Toast ($5 extra for breakfast) was wet in the centre and burnt on the edges. The wait staff asks how your meal was, if your plate is emptied, but when I push [... read more]ed my French Toast aside, interestingly enough she passed by several times and I was never asked if it was OK. Pastries and fresh fruit cocktail are the way to go. Rooms are clean and spacious and it's nice that each unit of 3 has it's own pool, but only one unit on the resort has a view of the Bay. We had a 5 minute walk from our room to the beach. Beach service was good. Our padded chairs and umbrellas are included with the room but anywhere else you go, keep in mind that it's between $15=$25/day to rent 2 chairs/umbrella on the beaches. Orient Bay waters are very rough with waves. Not ideal for small children. I lost control a couple of times. If you do not entertain the idea of nudes, then do not go to the beach early in the morning when they parade and jog the entire beach. We took a local bus and water taxi to Pinel Island to snorkel. Nice trip. A car is a must to see the island. $35/day if you rent from the resort. We heard you can get one for $20 right from the airport though. So many beaches and restaurants to check out around the island. Beautiful driving over the mountains and curved roads but watch for the scooters....they drive on the centre white line both ways. Can't wait to get back to this island. The waters are like paradise.

if ever considering to travel to Curacao then this resort is one not to pass up! The staff are friendly and service is spot on. A smaller resort that is easy to get around with beautiful clean grounds and easy access to the beach where you can swim and snorkel safely with the man made break wall and reef in front. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Fabulous laid back resort - not too big, not too s

Staff great. Every time I said thank you for something staff would say "it is my pleasure". Service excellent. Rooms clean and very nice. We had a partial ocean view and faced the lagoon at the side of the property. Nice and relaxing and the terrace was roomy. In our 5 storey building there were two elevators. We were on the 3 rd floor so we mostly walked up. Food was generally very good, except for the Oceana restaurant which was not good at all so we just went to another restaurant. Our favourite was the Italian restaurant. No wristbands at the resort which we liked. Excellent coffee shop which made great espresso and capuccino. Conveniently located across from a small bar so Baileys was on hand for the coffee. Beach was wonderful and the water was clear and turquoise. Snorkelling excellent. Lots of shade on the beach. Aqua aerobics on the beach every day if you are so inclined. Entertainment good. Bars all served great drinks - try the mojito if you go as well as the frozen piña coladas. We didn't swim in the pools though they looked very nice but, well, when you have a beach and salt water why bother. The resort is very laid back which we loved and check out on the final day was as simple as handing in the room key cards. I would definitely go again and the only thing I would change is that I would pack very little clothing - maybe a few bathing suits and a couple of casual dresses. The resort is close to Willemstad and you can pay 2$ american to take a mini bus any day into it. Costs 2$ to come back. The bus stop is right outside the resort. The Resort runs a free shuttle bus but you have to book the day before you want to go and the bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. Curacao really is paradise.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: The perfect vacation

Sometimes when booking a vacation it's easy to be woe'd by the hyper perfection of marketing photos. Many times there has been a slight sense of disappointment upon reaching your destination and the slick images you saw on your computer screen don't actually live up to reality. This was not the case with the Sunscape resort in Curacao. Reality was even better than the promotional images. The beach with it's encompassing breakwater sheltering the shore from rolling waves was a perfect combination [... read more] of greens and blues, perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. There was an abundance of interesting fish and sea life to observe in the crystal waters. The food was really appealing , Oceania was a favourite with it's fresh fish dishes and great beach location.Excellent entertainment in the evenings especially the solo performers with trumpet and saxophone. The staff was always friendly and eager to help out with connecting to internet and car rental. Over all it was one of the best trips I've ever taken and would gladly recommend Sunscape to anyone.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Awesome trip

The hotel was awesome. The room we had was fantastic and the food was great. I read the reviews before going and it is a good thing I did not take them too seriously because we had a great time! My only complaint is the pool had no real shallow end for children so we stayed on the beach for most of the day.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Absolute Paradise!

I recently stayed at Sunscape Curacao and loved it! Check-in was effortless and within no time we were laying on the beach. Later on in the afternoon we took a chance and asked front desk for an up-graded room, they were more than helpful! For a small price we found ourselves in the Sunclub building with the most beautiful Oceanview room with a huge sliding door leading to the balcony. The buzzer they supplied allowed you to enjoy yourself elsewhere until your table was ready. Although we enjoyed all of our meals, our favourite was the ribs at the Grill. The grounds were well kept and there was plenty of chairs and shady spots available. The man made cove was what we enjoyed most of all. It was so nice to swim in the calm ocean every day. If your looking for some entertainment, the entertainment staff do a great job! There is plenty of daytime activities and the nightly entertainment is a lot of fun, especially the fire show. There is also spectacular dinner shows. (usually singers) If your looking for nightlife the island has it all! A 5minute walk down the street from Sunscape is Mambo Beach. Many small shops and restaurants and dance parties on the beach with DJs that party till morning. All in all our trip was absolutely fantastic. Friendly people, rich culture, great food and drinks, and stunning views. I'd highly recommend visiting Sunscape Curacao. Weather your younger or older this resort caters to all and the diverse mix of vacationers adds to your overall experience.

Old resort, in need of renovations. Room clean, staff great. Great snorkeling right of the beach. Buffet very poor, restaurants pretty good. Don't pay extra for the sun club, not worth the extra money.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Amazing first time in Curacao!

Traveled here from Apr 5-12 with my bf. We are in our early 30s and had an amazing time! We first were placed in an older, ground floor room. on our 3rd day we asked to move and we're moved to the Royal Tower.
