Secrets Huatulco: Very nice resort

Very clean,spacious resort in a beautiful area. We were happy with this place with the exception of getting some food poisoning at lunch on two occasions. Dinners at a l carte were great as was the staff at the resort. Pools were good but were quite a walk and elevator ride from our room on the top floor so we stayed there all day. Beach is a little rough for walking but ocean is great for snorkelling. We would return to this resort or the Dreams Resort down the road nearer to town. But we wou [... read more]ld never eat another lunch prepared outside by the pool.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Nice Resort

It was a very nice hotel. The restaurants were great. Food was excellent. Very expensive spa. Pools are very well kept and the drinks are yummy. The beach is fantastic, you do not need water shoes at all, no rocks just pure white sand in the ocean. The only thing we did not like was that the shows started a couple of hours after dinner so we were bored till they started.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful resort!

Our experience from start to finish was amazing. We have never stayed in such a highly rated resort before and were very impressed! Starting with our pick up at airport and arrival at the resort we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The rooms were wonderful. The staff throughout the resort were helpful and accommodating! We spent a lot of time at the pool partaking of the water, sunshine and drinks. The service was great and we were kept refilled by our favorite bartender Isaul. He's a treasure for that resort. Keep him at all cost! He remembered people from years before which makes us want to come back. We found the food in the restaurants really tasty and we loved the food we had. I would recommend anyone to stay at Secrets resort in Huatulco. We raved about it to each other every day And we will very definitely get back there! I can't say anything negative about experience. We had booked a tour guide ourselves before arriving so were able to take a couple of excursions. I would highly recommend Enrique's Huatulco tours. He was amazing!

Secrets Huatulco: Great stay

We were three couples travelling together and all were very impressed by our rooms, all of which had a great ocean view. We all had rooms higher up in the hotel and very much preferred our views to those down at the poolside near the swim up bar. Facilities were very clean and staff excellent and cheerful. There is some minor evidence of wear and tear but overall good. Food was generally very good but not quite as high end as we have had with other 5* resorts, i.e. never once saw scallops or lob [... read more]ster on the menu in any of the restaurants. For a resort with such great views, it was almost disappointing that the only restaurant with good ocean views was Castaways which has an amazing panorama. We actually tried room service; something we have never previously done, in order to have breakfast while looking over the beautiful view. Service was much faster than the declared time and food varied from excellent to mediocre as one day they seemed to have difficulties. Entertainment was lacking and with one or two exceptions not very good, but, then again, we were there for the ocean and sun. The beach is not a great swimming area with very coarse sand and a steep run down to the water. We were warned that there were strong rip currents on the west central side of the beach. We also heard there was good snorkelling over on the far east side. Unlike a prior review we had read, we were warned by resort staff to beware of the beach to be found to the east, following the trail through the wooded area, in that it was wave swept with dangerous currents. We had also read on a forum that you could walk along that beach once on it, as far as the ruins by Copalita but that information is incorrect. The beach gives out a short distance further on at a rocky point. For the price we paid, it was a good vacation.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Such a perfect getaway

This resort was absolutely fabulous . The gardens and grounds were gorgeous. The infrastructure was thoughtfully built so that you could enjoy private and common areas. The pools were great. The staff were friendly and hardworking but never invasive. The ocean front and beach were sensational. We had a beach cabana daily which was private and very comfortable and the service was amazing. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. It had an ocean view and a private balcony which we used [... read more] often. It was nice to relax there after dinner and listen to the pounding surf and observe the excellent nightlife below. Meals and food were excellent quality and the service was first class. We were sad to leave this calming, and well appointed oasis. We are already planning our next visit.

Secrets Royal Beach: Secrets Royal in Punta Cana

The place is wonderful. The staff is great, The food is good. Overall an excellent Hotel to be referred to. However, we are snorkeling fans and unfortunately found that the water is way from being clear. We always travel this time of year and normally head to where the Ambar is in Punta Cana where we find the water is much clearer. Other than that all was excellent...Thanks for asking!!!!

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Excellence at its best

We stayed at Secrets Maroma preferred club swim out to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were taken to check in and were greeted with a glass of champagne and a cold cloth very much appreciated after our flight. Our room was amazing king size bed that was very comfortable. We also received a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The grounds were beautiful. The white sand blue/green ocean was just what we needed. Secrets Wild Orchid: Absolutely Perfect!

My husband and I stayed at this amazing resort, WO side PC from October 28- November 4th. This resort is nothing short of absolutely perfect. From the time we arrived, until we left we were treated like absolute royalty. We had a Butler, his name was Miguel (sp?) Our wish was literally his command. He was so very professional, intelligent, respectful, very hard working young Man, with the upmost potential to be the very best in his field. Right down to everytime he seen us, the genuine excitement on his face, was honestly what felt most like "HOME" That's what this resort prides itself on, they welcome you "home" the minute you walk in that door. The restaurants were amazing, the service would put others to shame, that's how good they are! At this resort, you will feel like you are home, with one giant happy, family, waiting to make your stay the very best. The cleaning staff was efficient, and again, HAPPY!!! Leo, our beach/pool server on WO side PC, blew us away with his personality, attention to detail, and over all, all around, is a huge asset to this resort. Miguel is as well. Those two are quite the team on WO side. The entertainment was exciting, new, and had some of the most amazing performers I have seen to date. I wish I knew all of their names! Kudos to all the entertainment staff :) Coco Cafe, has some of the most delicious hot beverages on their menu. The service is top notch (the beautiful pregnant woman, and short haired woman that has only worked there 4 weeks) Both of them we seen regularly, and both paid attention to detail, was very pleasant, clean, and efficient. The room service was always tasty, AND hot. This resort honestly proves there really is no limit to what they will do to make it your BEST vacation. I travel quite frequently, and have chosen this resort twice. Once for 8 days, another for 10. Within 3 years. This is one of our very favourite resorts, and we will be going back "Home" within the year. I would like to thank everyone at this resort, that works so hard to provide us with the ultimate vacation. You ARE what is right in the Hotel/Management industry!! Secrets Royal Beach: Wonderful trip

Only a short drive from the airport, we were welcomed warmly by the reception and given a cool towel and drink upon arrival. The rooms were spacious and clean. The king bed was very comfortable. The food is excellent at the buffet and at the a la carte restaurants. The staff are very friendly and the service is exceptional. Drinks were a plenty! Loads of loungers at the beach and the lazy river pool was a great place to cool off and relax. I would definitely return!

Secrets Playa Mujeres: A relaxing , beautiful resort

The resort is well kept , clean , lots of vegetation Food is very good, lots of choices , esp healthy choices ie daily fresh fish , shrimp, salmon the variety of fruits is fine, more local grown mangos would have been nice , but in general good. Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Simply amazing

Been to many resorts along the Riviera Maya area such as Secrets Silversands, Excellence Riviera, Royal Playa Del Carmen and Paradisus La Perla Royal Service but Secrets Akumal wins hands down. The resort is brand new and the layout and landscaping is beautiful, but the best part is the beach with no sea weeds. The sand is soft, white and water is very clear where we went snorkeling and for the first time saw turtles. The bay is protected by the reefs and the ocean is very calm. The beach is pre [... read more]tty long about 2 kilometers so that you can have a nice walk in the morning with a nice sunrise view. The rooms were well decorated with a round hot tub and wall mounted flat tv. All of the restaurants were top notch.

Secrets Royal Beach: Wonder resort !

I thought everything about it was well done, staff were wonderful, lovely rooms, great layout, food was great, wish I had had more time there to try all the restaurants ! Everybody was very friendly, and the restaurants weren't overly crowded either.

Secrets Royal Beach: Great resort!

Nice spacious pool. Lots of good beach front! Well kept grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very well kept and there was a lot of great restaurants. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to travel to Punta Cana.

Secrets St James: Great Resort Not a Fan of the Food

The resort itself was nice, quaint, and very well maintained. I really liked how you could use both resorts - Secrets St James and Wild Orchid and actually you’re never able to differentiate between the two since you can walk freely between them. They also provided us with access to the preferred club, which now having been there I think is a must have. The activities were good, there was enough to do to keep ourselves well occupied or for that matter just hang out at the various beaches and [... read more] pools enough so that we were sufficiently bored, rested and ready to come home at the end of the week. The best part of the 2 resorts has to be the care and thoughtfulness of the staff. It reflected well that the staff really went out of their way to constantly make sure that you are having a great time and are being well looked after. I can think of many instances where a staff member went what I would consider much out of their way to assist. The bad though was the food. Not sure if my expectations were out of line, but the food quality was nowhere near what I would have expected from a four diamond resort.

Secrets Royal Beach: Swim up room 4170

The room was amazing. I will only do swim up room from now on! I will definitely book a Secrets or that chain again unlimited luxury is no lie. One day we ordered room service (which is included in the all-inclusive unlimited package to the room for lunch). The bartender Angel from the swim up comes around all day long and didn't leave the pool (the vicinity of our room) the whole day.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Beautiful resort

We had a beautiful week at secrets Puerta Vallarta. The service was great, the view amazing and the ambiance terrific. Our only disappointment was the beach. The sea shore is very rocky and gets deep very suddenly.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Quiet Resort for Mature Couples

Air Canada lost my luggage for 4 days with no explanation and very poor customer service. In fact, they have termed their telephone reps as "customer relations". That says it all. It obviously tainted my holiday. The hotel is beautiful. Hotel employees are polite and amiable. The food at the a la cartel restaurants was very good - better than majority of resorts although you will wait for a table if you dine after 7 pm. The beach is approx 2KM in length and can be over run with snorkellers from  [... read more]other hotels but otherwise clear water and beautiful. The entertainment was good - not the standard shows. Thanks to Victor, Paola, Carlos, our regular waiters and JDD - good concierge.

Secrets St James: Very nice staff, good services, but not a luxury resort

Overall, the people working at the resort was very nice, but if you are looking for a luxury resort with good food/drinks and luxury amenities, this is not the resort. The people working at the resort work very hard, but the quality is just not there and it is not their fault.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: just ok

We were at Secrets Vallarta Bay in early August for one week. A few hiccups upon arrival and we felt the situation left a bad taste in our mouths right from the start. We did not feel the front desk staff to be warm or happy to see us... there was a good deal of pressure to sit thru vacation club sales which we refused. The pool was fine and since that is where you spend 90% of your time, it was a pretty good resort in that regard. We felt the food was inconsistent as well as the service in [... read more] the restaurants. I do believe it was at 70% capacity and I am not sure if that had anything to do with it. The rooms are nice, water hot in the shower, comfortable beds. Get a room as high up as possible as the night life can get quite noisy. - Room service was terrible so we had it only once. Travel to pool, beach from your rooms is via elevators - very HOT elevators. You have to go over the the NOW Amber side (where there is children and families) for a great deal of your meals so if you want quiet dinners... you have only a few choices on the Secrets side. The coffee shops are great . There is no denying the wonderful view, the beautiful sunsets and the benefits of being close to the airport and to the downtown. The swim out rooms here looked to be your best bet and would consider returning only if the price was right and we booked swim out room.
