Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful setting

Everything was clean, well kept, and staff were friendly and accommodating. However the situation in Cuba is definitely getting worse for the residents. Shortages are to be expected by visitors too, but there is no reason to complain. We had two days of no eggs for breakfast and there was no white wine for the entire stay. Many guests grumbled unnecessarily. This is Cuba today. Sit back, relax, enjoy what there is, and know you are helping their economy by tourism. We had a wonderful time.

Melia Las Dunas: Absolutely Amazing Resort

All the staff are awesome and very friendly. They’re amazing as returned guest they always remember you . The grounds and very kept as gardeners working everyday. The Food is plentiful and you can always find something to eat. It’s not amazing but you’ll never go hungry. There was fish,chicken, pork,veal and beef every night with mashed potatoes and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Can’t wait to return in November ??????

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Resort is declining

This was our fourth trip to this resort. We went there twice before Covid and obsoletely fell in love with the resort. The grounds are lush and beautiful, it was quiet and peaceful, the food was great with lots of selection, the staff were friendly and attentive. Then Covid came. We returned last year knowing that things would not be the same but we were committed to the resort and its staff. We were right in our assumption and there was a definite reduction in food selection but not in quanti [... read more]ty. We were never hungry. The staff worked hard and everything else still seemed to be in place. However, upon this years return we noticed a remarkable change. The resort itself is definitely showing its age. We heard lots of complaints from other guests regarding the quality of the rooms and utilities. The food selection was even less than the previous year and the quality of the food had diminished as well. No French Fries, no Ketchup, no Salad Dressing, no potatoes, no Limes, no bananas and the list goes on. Certain things they would have one day and then not the next. We understand the issues that Cuba is having and i could get around the previous items noted. What i could not accept was the lack of service. This is not a country issue this is a resort issue. The service was horable compared to what it used to be. Let me be clear there are staff that still go over and above but it used to be all staff went over and above. We would literally be ignored at the pool restaurant and the Beach restaurant. One time after waiting 10 minutes at the Beach Restaurant my wife had to go up herself to get a menu and the waitress after seeing this still ignored us. This is something the resort itself can fix and it had better take notice and fix it if they have any inclination of staying a 5 star resort. I hope Melia pays attention to the reviews and acts upon them. This was a fantastic resort that i would have happily recommended to anyone. Unfortunately, not so much anymore.

Melia Marina Varadero: We got by!

We had a few deficiencies to deal with upon arrival. We had "The Level" privilege package but with elevators being out it was 6 flights of stairs for every meal with a bum leg. The resort was nice, needed more attention though. Learned that this was last resort to reopen post covid so all the other resorts hired the best people. Melia Marina got what was left but they tried hard. A couple stood out, Joanna and Vladimir, our concierges. upon checkout, our bus ride to the airport was a no show and [... read more] cost us USD $50 for a cab to the airport. Who is going to reimburse us for that? All in all we made the best of our time at Maria Melina but it was a bit of a let down.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: OUTSTANDING HOTEL

Paradisus Rio de Oro is great, the grounds are kept immaculate, the food is really good at the buffet as well as the ala carte restaurants. The infinity pool is amazing. The staff at this resort are so accommodating they all went above and beyond to make our holiday great. We have been here many times and hope to return many more. We ha [... read more]ve taken the bus to this market before but the horse and buggy was much nicer. The rooms are quite large with 2 decent closets and the washrooms are nice with a large walk in shower. This resort is large enough that you can escape to the quiet if you need to but small enough to be within 5 min of anywhere you want to go. We have been to a couple of other resorts in Cuba but we will go no where else now!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria!!

I have been to Cuba almost 30 times and this resort has to be the best I’ve ever been to all thanks to the service, the staff and the management. The only downside is the 1.5 hour bus ride from the airport but the Hola Sun guides were very informative and funny. First off, wifi all over the resort with great connection, even at the beach. The beach lunch bar was amazing as well. The buffet was always full of food with something to eat. The chefs were so sweet and friendly and always offered something that wasn’t at the buffet like fried fish or chicken which was delicious. The room was phenomenal, lots of space, king sized bed, hot water and great room service from the cleaner Yanelys. Bottles of water and pop were brought daily. Building 20 room 2024 not oceanview but was perfect and quiet. The entertainment staff were just unbelievable. I want to send a shout to out Victor, Adrian, Ariel, Darbel, Antonio and Nayibi who made our two weeks the most fun and enjoyable time together. They are just so sweet and so much fun! They are the reason we would definitely come back to Melia Santa Maria. The bugs weren’t too bad on the beach or on the resort even though we used Off. Pretty sure they sprayed in the mornings and definitely worked considering how much greenery was on the resort. The shows were decent but the Michael Jackson show was the best. Every one of the entertainers try their best and was much appreciated. The bar staff were always accommodating and they were always very helpful and polite. I have to thank Lupe for his excellent management as he oversaw everything. He’s a great leader and has great staff to work with.

Melia Las Antillas: wonderful resort

the resort is average size with great grounds lovely pools even the shark is good. The food was really good and better than most the only shortage was potatoes and still had them. the staff is the reason we keep going back. the rooms are a bit dated but only was there to sleep and change. They were clean and kept that way for our 2 week stay.Be back next year

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Horrible resort

This trip was one of the worst ones we have ever experienced. There is NO way this resort is a 5 star it’s more of a 3. We had NO coffee all week- water we had to beg for and don’t even ask what we had to use to dry ourselves after a shower. There would be nights they’d take our towels and not return them leaving us and many others with nothing to dry ourselves with. Our flight was delayed… so they gave us a courtesy room to have a shower before our flight- it was disgusting —-we had to use our flip flops in the shower the room was gross and again - non towels to dry off- we after going to front desk to complain we just needed imputing tshirts from our luggage to dry off. Sad part is— anyone we talked to that was being picked up along the way had plenty of coffe and plenty of food options so it’s not a Cuba thing as much as just a BAD resort. I can garentee anyone that went will Not be going back to that resort again. Disappointed over this experience and will never go back

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disappointing

This is my fifth trip to Cuba and I understand the shortage in Cuban resorts but this was beyond my comprehension of that. Not gonna get into what was absent but from the cleanliness of the resort and absolutely no staples. No coffee no eggs no meats no shrimp no. Even oil or vinegar were completely absent. Paradisus Rio De Oro: It was a fantastic resort

I would give it a score of 9 on 10. The restaurants that were on reservations only were excellent except for the Cuban resto. The buffet and cafe restos were very good. Personnel was fantastic and very helpful. the beach was not what I expected very disappointed

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: New relaxing resort

Located not far from famous Ancone beach with sunset and sunrise. Still under construction, but it does not affect your stay. Big rooms , all with seaview. Plenty of good food, included drinks are good, premium at charge. Pools are very good, a lot of beach lounges and beds. Beach is still under construction, no grass. Good swim area approximately 150 m away. Good snorkeling. Spa with sauna, steam room, exercise equipment and massage. Bicycles available. Watersports should be available shortly.  [... read more] Entertainment includes a band playing mainly Latin music, dance group with a singer and lady trumpeter. Big kids club with playstations. 15 minutes by bus or taxi to Trinidad. Plenty of friendly personal, very few speaking English or French. Two a la carte restaurants. Both are worth visiting once. General manager Juan Pereira Márquez is excellent. Most staff really trying their best. 135 min to Santa Clara airport and 80 min to Cienfuegos airport by comfortable bus with toilets. No drinks or foods are available.

Melia Internacional: Wonderful stay with family

The hotel was well laid out, easy to access all facilities, staff are friendly and professional, the variety of food at the hotel was good despite the food shortages in Cuba. We met with family who joined us at the resort and we all enjoyed our stay. The resort was nearly at capacity yet it did not feel crowded at all. We plan to visit again in the future.

Melia Cayo Coco: Love the resort

Our third trip at this resort in the last two years. Well run place. Staff are fantastic. Understanding the issues in Cuba this resort stands above many others. Beach fantastic. Pool bar staff are great. Food is decent and never an issue finding something to eat. Rooms more than nice. Grounds beautiful. The staff at the Meliá ensure your visit exceeds your expectations of a Cuban holiday

Melia Internacional: Very nice place

Food was good and restaurants were very good grounds was clean and pools were great. Didn’t have the level but didn’t miss the benefits. Rooms we’re clean and everything worked fine. Did the Havana tour and enjoyed it a lot.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Be prepared & understand where you’re going

While this resort is nice, Cuba is experiencing shortages more than normal right now. Upgrade to the “Royal” side if possible. Simple things we take for granted like butter, water & coffee are all hard to come by. Adding to this, the bugs are also out and craving humans more than I’ve ever experienced before. Had the weather cooperated, our vacation would have still been good. Sadly, we didn’t get much sun either. Outlets are also all used for lighting that seems to be, at best, mood lighting.

Melia Marina Varadero: Not good experience

The first thing we have reached resort at night 10pm and dinner time was over so they said only snacks is open we said that's fine also wifi is terrible except the level room. We were 5 people with 2 year old daughter they mention it's family resort but nothing kids facilities works, kids pool kids day care were closed. Also at the reception the 2 girls who claimed they are receptionists but they don't know anything about the resort, whenever you asked for something they will straight out say no [... read more] except trying to find out what we were asking for. Food as we expected as it's Cuba they are having some issue with food. Also in rooms there were not flush working in both rooms at all we have to walk all the way to lobby to use washroom every single time. I am pregnant 6 months and I had to use washroom every hour and I had to walk to lobby. They don't do housekeeping by asking 2-3 times in a day. After requesting them to sort out as I was having hard time they have upgraded to level room service with room on lobby floor as their lift was out of services since 2 weeks. I had to go on 7th floor for breakfast, lunch and dinner 3 times in a day as pregnant women. Thanks to that lady who was manager at the level room services she have seen me I was having issue and she supported throughout our stay and also all the servents at the level room were excellent specially valdimer(putin) he was used to come from 7th floor to lobby for our services so we don't need to do up and down. Food is good for Cuban people for sure but for Indians you will get hard time to survive with there food. There is one indian restaurant in Havana food was good. Regarding resort they put 5 star but they are hardly 2 star. If you fo 2 star than you expect this kind ot service but after charging for 5 star and get this services not good at all. Also you need to give tip all the time to get basic services. At the pool they have snack bar, If you don't give them tip they will not Give you food ?. If you book please book level room services otherwise it's worst experience. I can give 5 star to level room servent and services only.

Melia Cayo Coco: amazing once again

dining and buffet good as always drinks added this year and always love the Cappuccinos the staff always makes you so happy and very welcoming , eddy and other servers are the best in busssiness and would love to come back next year

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful resort. We’ll certainly be back.

Employees were warm, welcoming and very helpful as usual. Lots of food, and the variety was good, including shrimp, calamari, lobster, and also great pizza in the 24-hour restaurant. Enjoyed the sun and acres of clean white sand all week on the huge beach with a lovely sprinkling of natural trees. You can’t beat the spectacular views from the front or the rear of this resort! Take some bug spray this year though as unusually wet weather last fall brought out a few tiny but itchy mosquitoes.

Sol Palmeras: Great week in Cuba

The Hotel is quite old, but has been maintained well. The room was dated but clean and everything worked. Entry lock, safe, bathroom all worked well. The resort is very beautiful, grounds manicured and clean. Lots of daytime and evening entertainment. Nice area near beach entrance with bbq open all the time, lots of seats and umbrellas, a little shopping area, lunch served at 1:00. They never ran out of eggs. Wifi was the only problem. Difficult to sign in and stay connected. My understanding is that along with some of the rooms that they are visibly renovating, the WIFI is also to be updated. We will definitely return to this resort.

Let me say that I’ve been to this hotel many times, and things have gotten better.
