Okay at best

Hi.....we were at this ressort from August 5 to to August the 12......in general everything was okay....we had issues with the pool and beach beds being reserved by 6 am......also for some strange reason most of the ressort had little or no air conditioning....never gave us a true answer why.....we believe it was to save money....they were at best keeping it at 25 cel.......the beaches in this area are average at best.......not sure I would recommend this hotel to a friend....the issues we had w [... read more]e major and made the stay quite uncomfortable....

Very nice resort, great service

The Hotel is amazing, great service, delicious food. I'd like lo back next vacation. The only comment I have is about employees strike for one day, service was terrible. I want to know how can I get best rates. Thanks a lot

Run away from this place

My husband and 2 children ages 3 and 11 wanted to get away for a short but worth while holiday. This was not the place.This place was sold to us as an all inclusive. Upon arrival they are constantly trying to up sale everything. They give you a really bad room (filthy)with no air conditioning and then they try to get you to up grade by buying in to their VIP (a step higher; you can still go higher until reaching the privileged program for a considerable fee) program. It really looked like the pl [... read more]ace was desperate for money and could fold at any time. Everyone wanted tips. If you didn't tip you basically got really bad service. The pools and children's play area was filthy (my 3 year old came back with a skin infection). I was told they had a kids club. When we got there we were told the kids club was only for 4 and up with no exception. The beach was OK. It is very rockie not much in the way of swimming. There was little to no Mexican food served. And the A la cart restaurants where nothing as advertised. We met a lot of unhappy people coming from further places. This is absolutly not a 4 to 5 star resort. When we finally arrived back home we were asked by the west jet steward in the plane if everyone had a great time. There was little to no response from everyone! Good bye Mexico...

Great stay

The hotel COBA was more for children, and was 10 minute walk to the beach, we spent most of our time at the 2 other grand bahia's that were on the beach and slept at the Coba one, the food was amazing as well as the shops at the 3 resorts

So so resort

we had tree rooms and they were ok as far as space and cleaning. the air conditioing wasnt working in all of them. the food was below average but eatable. the biggest problem was that all in door spaces like restoruants were not air conditioned so go for a meal ws not a pleasenr experiening at all swetting like pigs

I could be to harsh?!?!?

If you like to snorkel the variety of fishes will amaze you... The Resort is too big and there is a huge difference in service and food from one hotel to the next. The a la carte Restaurants are not the best except the Mexican Restaurant (great food and service). The room was clean but the way the service comes in waves( 9:00 am towels are taken, 11:00 new towels and 12:00-13:00 floors and beds) is not so friendly. Do not disturb sign was missing and I could not use it. The beach is nice but the [... read more] ocean has some barriers to brake the waves and at times the water at its deepest would not be more than 4 ft deep.

Wonderful vacation and amazing resort

Everything about the hotel was terrific. The pool was large and even though we had to take a trolley to the beach it was worth it. We had the opportunity to use the other properties at this location. The staff were wonderful, food was great, weather was hot and sunny. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to purchase the Bahia Principe Privilege membership

EXCELLENT!

Stayed at Coba July 28 - August 4 in building 18 A. We loved it. Grounds are well maintained, the buffet was great, although I stayed away from the meat section so I can't speak for that part of the buffet. The staff were very nice and thank you to Maribel, Omar and Victor in the buffet. They were very nice and did a great job looking after us. Also thanks to Loyda who looked after our room. We also loved the live band in the hacienda they had every night and David the keyboard player was very a [... read more]ccomodating with requests. They had lots of events during the day and entertainment in the evening to keep people busy. The room we had was very large and clean and it suited us just fine. Down side... the resort is huge and most people took the carts that run around on a regular basis to go where they wanted but it is a bit of a pain. It was also very humid and it made taking tours outside umcomfortable. The AC does not cool the room right down but it is good enough to get a good nights sleep. Also the DJ in the night club was not interested in requests and seemed very moody. I guess he is just a typical DJ, they are going to play what THEY think you like. We only requsted one song and that took until the next day to play it. In his defence most people by that time have consumed a considerable amount of alcohol. Also a warning not to feed the animals. They seem very passive but one little girl hand fed one and didn't give up the food fast enough and it scratched her up pretty good. Word of advise...you tip at home and no different here. Service is always better if you tip. Over all a great time and would return.

Amazing resort and exceeded expectations

Everything was great. Went with family (daughter and husband, grand kids, husband,s parents and brother). Able to choose all facilities at 3 separate resorts. We stayed at the Coba. Food was great. Staff we're very friendly and helpfull. Will definetly go again

Never again

Hotel - To big to get around. 15 min walk from room to buffet and 20 min walk to the beach or endless wait for the "golf carts" to come by and take you to the desired destination. The rooms were all mouldy - I have asked to be moved and after several days of explaining that I have a medical condition and can not sleep in the room that reeks of mould I have been offered other rooms that was intended for handicapped individuals (also reeked of mould). After returning to Canada and several washes m [... read more]y clothes still smells of mould. Staff and travel guides - Not friendly and not helpful when asked questions. Travel guides were giving us wrong informations about tourist attractions as well as prices for the same. There we a lot of rude and pushy sales people in the hotel constantly harassing us to buy time shares after repeatedly saying we were not interested. Beach - Biggest disappointment of all. I have asked the travel consultant specifically about the beach when he recommended Mexico vs. Cuba and this hotel in particular as he mention that he came to it several times. Beach was on top of my list! It was small, rocky full of sandbags with almost to room to swim. Overall I would not go back nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. I have a lot of friend that travel south several time as year and I have advised them to avoid this one like a plague.

Amazing resort

The rooms were clean and comfortable. There choice of food was endless. Even the most picky eaters will find something to satisfy their hunger. The staff were friendly and always very helpful. Our first trip to an all inclusive and we will defiantly come back to this one.

Amazing experience, gorgeous resort, polite staff

Clean, clean, clean. Choices of places to eat abundant! Food excellent. Beach was fun (activities) and clean, picturesque, rooms big. Liked that we could go from one resort to another. Great tram service. Can't say enough about this vaca. Will go back for sure!

Outstanding Resort!!

The resort was exceptional in all areas. The service and staff were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed all of the different restaurants and buffet themes. There was always a abundance of food and variety. We so much enjoyed our walks around the beautiful grounds and of course along the beach! The resort was very clean and our rooms were lovely!! We loved participating in the games and dancing. Definitely, one of our favourite vacation resorts!!

Great resort !

This was our first time doing a 10days vacations and we have no regrets. The resort is so big (including Akumal and Tulum) that you don't get bored. The check-in was efficient and fast. The room was very clean and my son's bed was already made which was appreciated. We enjoy walking but if you don't/can't, there are plenty of "carts" going around all the time. Again very efficient. The beach is not only a long sandy beach but some portions are, other are more "wavy", other are for snorekling and [... read more] safe for kids. I would say something for all taste. The 4 restaurants we have tried were very good with great service especially the Gourmet and Arlequin. So many variety because you can use the 3 resorts facilities. Since we went at the end of June , the weather was hot and the air conditionning in our room was barely sufficient. The ceiling fan made a difference but could have been cooler. Another small negative point is that I didn't like the fact that we had to pay $5 US/day to use the safety box in our room. It's the first time we had to pay and we travel once or twice a year. But we would go back because the overall stay was great.

Amazing resort

Great resort for the whole family.clean grounds, amazing water park for the kids.buffets and restaurants were great . phenomenal beach.all the staff so helpful and always working so hard.good value!!!

Nice resort

Just like other GBP resorts I've been to, the grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. The room was a really good size but not as modern as other parts of the resort but clean with a nice bathroom. I found the room to be a bit dark as well even though we had a large patio/balcony. It's too bad there are no other windows. The beach was decent-there's a dock in the water where they do zumba and other activities. There's also a man made barg in the water that people often sat on. It looked ki [... read more]nd of slimy and gross to me so we never went on it. There was not much seaweed at all. A la carte restaurants were good overall and buffet had a good amount of variety. We were there for 2 weeks in November and it rained for 3 straight days the first few days. I'm glad we were there long enough to enjoy the sun after that for over a week. When it rains there's not much to do and the lobby gets full of smokers which being a non smoker was totally unappealing to me and my husband. Overall good resort.

Great resort!

Went here with our family in mid June and had a wonderful time! The staff was great, food was great and facilities were super nice. The resort is huge and with access to all 3 of them you really get a little bit of everything! We stayed in the Coba, we really like it there. The hotel rooms were very large (not that you will be spending much time in there anyway). Only issue we had was that our remote control in our room didn't work and they never came to fix the problem after asking many times.  [... read more]There seeme to be a leak coming from the airconditioner but it was very slight an since we were never really in the room anyway, we didn't care very much. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone, especially families!

Fabulous Trip! Amazing Resort!

My husband and I travelled with our 2 teenage daughters and had a fabulous trip! The resort is huge and we loved that we could go to the Tulum and Akumel resorts to eat, swim, etc. It was nice to try different places every day. We had absolutely no problem staying at the Coba, which was a bit further back because the trollies were available all the time. The food was fabulous at all the buffets, snack bars and a la carte's. We ended up getting 2 rooms side by side on the top floor (as we had requested) so that was nice. They had a welcome sign and balloons on both our doors and a Bahia Principe T-shirt for all of us on the bed when we arrived. Not sure if that is a standard thing or if it was because we mentioned it was our daughter's 16th birthday, but that was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and were always there to serve you. The animation team was wonderful and always got my girls involved in activities, which made it fun for them. The grounds were spotless - the landscapers were out every day ensuring everything was perfect. Considering the size of the resort, the staff was on top of everything. The food at the buffet was always replenished quickly if things ran out and all public areas were very clean. The only complaint we have about the resort is that everything closed down at 11:00. They turn off all the lights and stop serving drinks, which we found a bit strange for people vacationing. If you wanted to stay up and have a drink in the lobby or at any of the other bars, you couldn't do that. The only place that was open later was the disco, but if you didn't want to go there, there was no where to go. Besides that, the beach was very nice and there was always something to do, which is important for teenagers, as they get bored easily. We also "swam with the dolphins" right in the resort. They have a Dolphinarium right in the Tulum resort, so we booked it from home ahead of time, which was half the price, rather than booking it at the resort. We took the trolly to the Tulum resort that morning, which took 5 minutes - it was nice that we didn't have to drive anywhere. It was an amazing experience and would recommend it. This was definitely one of the best vacations we've had as a family and we would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

A Beautiful Resort

This is a beautiful resort. The grounds are clean, the pools are beautiful and clean (and there are lots of them), the dining experience is amazing with lots of variety to choose from. An amazing family resort!
