Really nice!

I would recommend this resort for sure. Buffet was delicious! Absolutely no issues with the food. 2pools one that has swim out bar, both are good size.service was excellent!!rooms are good size and clean. Resort is perfect size! 24 hour snack bar is great and lounge bar is good size, lots of outdoor seating.Beach is more of a natural beach with coral, but after first 15 feet clear water.Overall would 100%return.

Experienced it

not at the level of many other locations, accepted standards very low. Food should never be served the way this resort serves. Nightly entertainment OK. The price was low and we got what we paid for. I don't believe we will be running of to book in this country for some time. Mexico , Jamaica, Dominican far better in all aspects.

Amazing Familiy Vacation

Beautiful grounds and pool areas. Spectacular beach (much better than expected) espcially at sunset. Rooms are standard. Some maintance is required but nothing serious to stop you from having an amazing vacation

Not up to standards

The grounds are a hazard. So many areas for accidents to happen. Very little lighting at night on the way back to our bungalow which was no. 8, broken railings, slippery ceramic tiles in group areas on the nights it rained. I saw several people fall. The buffets were limited, never hot food and they were always out of something. The a la carte meals were not much better. Didn't understand the seating times being so limited. The Asian meal was not too bad but we had difficulty understanding the m [... read more]enu. I think they need some good management. They are trying hard to be top notch but missing the mark. We were to have a king size bed and got two singles, didn't ask to be moved as the rest of our family was in the same bungalow. Two days in a row we received holy towels in our room. Unbelievable for the price we paid. Paper is at a premium also, short on toilet paper all the time and certainly no Kleenex to be found. I understand there was different management last year and things were much better. I would find it hard to recommend this site. For an all inclusive there was a lot of tipping going on as people felt that was the only way to get service. Something wrong with this picture.

Wonderful vacation at Memories Flamenco

We had a wonderful two week vacation at this resort. The room was fine, the food was good, the service was great. At least three times during our stay we were approached by staff doing quality assurance and we had the opportunity to report any problems - but there weren't any.

Nothing special

Though I find Sunwing to be great I was not overly thrilled with Memories Flamenco. It is like a 3 star with better/more choice in food. Everything was fine but nothing really good except that I find the Cuban people to be wonderful and the food okay (for Cuba) but I am not a picky eater. Otherwise, the area doesn't have much going on and the shows are awful. The resort is run by Spaniards (directly from Spain) for a Canadian company. I really like the Cubans but the Spaniards are annoying. Davi [... read more]d (management) was much more pleasant than Alberto (also management). I broke a garbage can and they wanted to charge me 10 times the price because he said that is the rule in Cuba....any penalty is a times 10 rule. He reduced it to 5 times and I finally just said I refuse to pay since the reason it broke was because I stumbled coming out of the shower (very high showers I will mention more on). However, to sort all of this out took half a day of a 7 day vacation. David ended up apologizing profusely for the ordeal but Alberto was simply rude. His people skills are nil and it worried me that he may treat the Cuban people rudely if that is how he treats the guests. Anyway, this resort is not for elderly or people with limited mobility as the tubs are really high and you must step in and out of them to shower and I was thrown off balance every time I used it. Other negatives: yucky beach that is busy and rocky, the aquatic ballet was more of a strip show, people from another resort partying hearty in our pool with a blow up doll, jeep safari okay but no offroading at all, yucky beds and I was covered in bites by the time I left Other positives: Yuvany at the front desk (and other front desk staff) are exceptional and my experience is that usually front desk aren't great. I give the front desk an A+ as with ALL the Cuban staff there. Excellent cappuccinos at the lobby bar, good drinks and service at all bars, restaurants and maid service. Snorkeling not bad in this area. Fantastic Resort

The resort was great, grounds well kept, always something to do, didn't have to go far for a drink or snack, there were bars and food stands at the beach & near the pool, only downfall to this resort was the rock on the beach.

Memories Flamenco for the 2nd time!

Another stay at this beautiful resort, where staff treat seniors and young alike with excellent service. Our room was well maintained, and cleaning staff supplied all our needs, always going the extra mile. Enjoyed every mouthful of food from restaurants, and there too we were treated royally. Our days at the pool and beach soaking up the warm sun were great! Loved the shows. Promise, we'll be back!!!!!!

Wonderful two weeks at Flamenco!

Having been to Cuba a dozen times, this resort is one of my favourites. Love the size of the resort, very well laid out and everything was close (we were in building 4). Staff were wonderful from the waitresses, waiters, bartenders (best drinks I have ever had in Cuba), maids and gardeners. Food was great, good variety at the buffet, 24 hour snack bar was fantastic, love the coffee and the A la carte's were very good, my favorite was the Calalu. Rooms were spacious and clean, lot's of hot water  [... read more]and good water pressure in the shower. Cold drinks, pop, beer & water always stocked in fridge and no problem changing in beach towels daily. The only down fall was the coral on the beach but there were a few areas that you could walk in without too much problem, but once you were out passed the coral it was a beautiful sandy bottom. Check in was done at the airport, room keys were given to us and bracelets put on and when we arrived at the hotel drinks waiting for us and bags were taken to our room. Only a 15 minute bus ride to our hotel from the airport. We had wonderful two weeks.

Fantastic

It was the first time for my daughter to venture outside of Canada so Cuba seemed to be a great place to start. Her first time experience at Memories Flamenco Beach Resort in Cayo Coco was excellent. We both enjoyed everything about our trip and would definitely return again.

A beautifull resort

A great resort. Staff is very accommodating and polite. The whole place i.e.Gardens, grounds, walk way, pools extremely clean and beautiful. Great price for a holiday. Buffet We would definitely go back again.

Great Time!

We spent 7 days at this resort for a friend's wedding. We had a really nice time! A lot of people complain about food in Cuba, but this resort had really good food. Obviously things won't taste the same as in Canada and I wouldn't expect it too, which I get the feeling that is what a lot of people think. There wasn't much that I didn't like with the food! The snack bar is very basic, but good when you're in a pinch at an odd time. We would get a hot dog or burger before going to our room at night. They also had good breakfast there. The entertainment at night was great, we only caught two nights of it but they were really good shows, they are VERY talented. The pool bar is nice but found a lot of kids hung out around there and sometimes was a little much. They also held a lot of children's activities right by it...would have been nice to keep that a little more separated, not a huge issue though. The beach is nice, as others say the coral/rocks is a little sharp in spots but we just wore flip flops and had no problems at all and it's neat to see all the fish that live around the coral (you don't have to swim out further to see them). The only real thing that got to us was the first night we arrived, our toilet broke. We called down twice within 3-4 hours and they said they'd take a look. Never did, so we went to the lobby and told them again. Someone finally showed up but took out the guts of our toilet leaving it completely useless. We had to call again, and they tried telling us it was 'impossible' to fix and would be looked at in the MORNING. So we were expected to be without a toilet all afternoon/evening/night and morning. They did nothing to try to help until I went down to the customer rep and complained that we have to have a toilet! (even if it was still possible to manual flush with water but they took everything out so it wouldn't work at all)...they finally worked to get us another room to stay in. It was really frustrating waiting around until 10-11 pm (after being up since 5 am with our flight and all) to find out if we'd even get another room. They also told us it was another ocean view...it wasn't, it was garden view and a king size instead of double bed (we requested double), they expected us to stay in this room saying it was 'nicer', for the price we paid for ocean view, my husband managed to get them to give us the other room back the next afternoon though. However after that whole ordeal we had no problems with the staff, they were all great. And the rest of the time spent there was awesome. But I am curious as to why bathrooms have no paper towel or working hand dryers? Not a big deal to us, but it was a little weird.

Awesome resort

My husband and I were at Memories Flamenco Beach Feb 5th to 12th, 2015. This is our 2nd time to this resort and we will definately be returning. The staff is fantastic! The grounds are absolutely georgious! Beautiful long walks on the beach every day. Food was very good in buffet and al la carte restaurants! Very nice resort

The hotel is new so very nice room,bathroom and grounds very well kept .Enough hot water for showers but lukewarm in the sink . The staff is also pleasant without being too familiar. The food offered in the buffet is good and there is a good selection but often not warm. The supper at the Mediteraen restaurant was hot and terrific as well as the service. We have been in Cuba 10 times and for the first time the assistant manager and another very efficient lady also from Spain met us at the airport and at the bus to see us off at the end of our stay. Excellent resort!!!!

We stayed at this resort for 7 days, it was fabulous! The food was delicious, the service was 5 star quality, and the rooms are very spacious. The staff here are super friendly!!!! this resort and beach is extremely clean. **bring water shoes-the first couple of feet walking into the ocean is coral**

Memories Flamenco

I was at the resort January 28 - Feb 5th, 2015. The stay had its pros and cons. We stayed in building #10. It was the furthest away from all the excitement which was a downfall unless you like to walk alot. The first two days, we only received 2 medium shower towels but on the third day and the rest of our stay we received large ones? There were many rocks on the beach which made it hard to walk into the water at some points. What we did enjoy was the food, entertainment, pool, staff and disco every night. There are always lots of activities to take part in. One last comment is that the resort was very busy during our stay. In order to get a chair at the pool, you would have to get up very early as they filled up quickly.

Quiet vacation

This was my third time stay at the Memories Flamenco Beach Resort. I enjoyed it as much as two previous times. Nice, clean room with a beautiful view on the ocean, good food - meats and fish freshly from the grill, fresh fruit and many other choices. The beach is nice, though there is a dead coral reef in some places, plenty of shade under the trees. Amazing activities staff

We enjoyed our stay despite a few hiccups. The activities staff saved our trip! They kept us busy, made us feel welcome and encouraged us to try new things. We had problems with our room and amenities, that should not have taken 5 days to correct.

Good Resort

The resort itself was nice and clean. We found communication wasn't good. Lots of the workers don't speak or understand English very well at all. In the lobby for bus tours they could have had a speaker announcing what bus has arrived and for what tour. You had to always go to bus and ask where it was going. They had shows every night which where very good. If you like to snack bring your own chips, cookies, whatever you like. They don't have much and is expensive. Money exchange wasn't good, yo [... read more]u bring Canadian money to exchange for convertible Pesos and they use the US exchange rate. You also need 25.00 Pesos to get out of Cuba at the airport, so put it aside when you get to resort. Rooms- nice and clean, had no deodorizers for the bathrooms Pools- very nice,clean , bar service was good Buffets - hours where not good , some of the servers where not friendly, some food over cooked and dry. They did have ketchup,mustard,salt & pepper. People did drink the water served in the buffets. Beach - water beautiful but to get into water there was lots of hard coral in areas that you had to walk over to get into water and some smaller rocks on beach. Beach bar was good. Public bathrooms - no paper towels and the air dryers basically just turned on and off. No deodorizers for the smell and lots of doors wouldn't shut. These are just things we notice. After all that we had a great time !

Somewhat Disappointing

Based on all the great reviews that i read prior to booking this resort my expectations were pretty high thus the lower rating. overall it was a nice week and you can't beat the price. The most frustrating part for me was the inconsistency in service, food and just about everything else ranging from fantastic to not so great. i will use the buffet as one example. This resort has trmendous potential and a little better management and quality control would go a long way towards consistent excellence. We travelled as couple and this seems to be more of a family oriented resort; be careful when you book as some weeks they have free children promotions and the week that we were there they were everywhere which was not expected during school time. The lack of oversight at the pool was another minor annoyance with people claiming lounge chairs very early in the morning and not using them for hours if at all - we were only able to get access to chairs on the last day there. I am not sure why they do this but you have to line up for the 3 a la carte restaurants from 3-5 PM on you first day there in order to get reservations and even than the hours and availability is very limited. having to line up is annoying enough but having to do it 3 times for 3 differnet restaurants on the same day is rediculous. I know that i have been overly negative and left out the positive experinces but that was done on purpose to try and balance out these reviews to a more realistic rating. I have travelled extensively in the carribean and this is my third time to Cuba so it is not like i was tottaly uaware of what to expect.
